Audigy 2 zs drivers

Audigy 2 zs drivers?Hello all!
I need some help updating my drivers for the Audigy 2 zs. I have recently reformatted and installed XP sp3 and I have lost my CD for my soundcard. My PC is quite old and it is an Alienware. Now, I can install the drivers from Alienware support (from 2003 I think?) and SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006 from the Creative website, but SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00 and SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_007 is where the problem starts.
If I install either of those I have no sound. Now they do install and I have no problems in device manager, but for some reason my sound is set to minimum and it is greyed out so I cannot turn it up? The sound icon in the task bar is also missing (probably because it is not checked in the options which are greyed out lol).
I have tried numerous times but it just will not update past SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006? I've uninstalled, used drivercleaner etc, but it always remains greyed out.
Please help because I'm having some sound issues in some games and I think this may fix it.
I have had no problems in the past when I've reformatted?

Reinstalled XP, installed latest driver only and did this before any anti-virus software was installed.
And it all works.
In case anyone has this problem then I can only think it may be the anti-virus causing it. I have bitdefender and did disable it, but I think something was still causing problems?
Anyway thanks for the help lol.

  • New Audigy Beta Drivers did they add EAX 4.0 to an Audigy 1 Platinum

    Hello,
does the new Audigy Beta Drivers add EAX 4.0 Support to an Audigy Platinum ?
    Greetings Picard007

Audigy (hardware base one) supports EAX3 (EAX Advanced HD) hardware. Audigy2 suports EAX4 hardware. EAX4 is supported with latest OpenAL drivers on compatible hardware.
    More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environ...dio_extensions
    Quote:
EAX has nothing to do with actual 3D audio positioning. Positioning is done by Microsoft's DirectSound3D API. An alternati've to DirectSound3D, called Open Audio Library (OpenAL), surfaced in 2003 in several titles. OpenAL allows direct hardware acceleration of audio, like DirectSound, including EAX. As of 2006, the API has been used in many popular titles including Doom 3 and Prey. These games support EAX 4.0 if audio hardware with an OpenAL-supporting driver is present.
Most releases of EAX versions coincide with increases in the number of simultaneous voices processible in hardware by the audio processor: the original EAX .0 supports 8 voices, EAX 2.0 allows 32 (Li've!), EAX Advanced HD (EAX 3.0) supports 64 (Audigy), EAX 4.0 again supports 64 (Audigy 2), and EAX 5.0 allows 28 voices (and up to 4 effects applied to each) (X-Fi).

  • Frustrated with Audigy 2zs drivers

"Frustrated with Audigy 2zs drivers\ Hi,
I really need some help with drivers for my Aud 2 ZS Plant card as i am very frustrated. A couple of months ago I reformatted my HD and subsequently re-installed all my drivers. When I was ready to install my soundcard drivers\software I could not find my installization disc as I moved to a new place 6 months ago and I guess they got lost in the unpacking. Since then I have tried to find drivers for my card and in the process have?used 3rd party drivers ie. KX, PAX, and daniel_k but could not get them working or they (KX) were hard to understand. Anyway, I am to the point now that I just want to have sound with functioning software where I can get back to doing some hobbyist home recording as I did before with orginal drivers. In saying that, can anyone please point me in the direction to find the most up to date drivers for my card? Iam running WIN XP Pro sp3. I am to the point now that I want to take the card and front dri've bay out of my system, chuck it, and go and buy a $20.00 generic card.
    Help would be much appreciated.

If you want the latest drivers I'd use Dan K's if I were. None of the old software works with the latest drivers so you're kinda stuffed. Dan K's are based on the 2.8.000 drivers which are the second to latest drivers available. Don't use the 2.8.00 drivers - they cause more problems than they solve.
Before installing any more drivers/software it might be an idea to make sure there's nothing left of any previous drivers you've tried to install. Could be what's causing the problems.
This is how I remove my drivers. May seam a little convoluted but in your case it may prove useful to be as thorough as possible.
You'll need Driver Sweeper, and CCleaner, 7Zip and Dan K's Audigy Support Pack 2.0 (if you don't already have them).
Download these and install; Driver Sweeper, CCleaner and 7Zip.
Now you need to extract all the files out of Dan K's support pack, which should be an *.exe file. You need what's inside that *.exe file. After installing 7Zip, you should see a new 7Zip options menu when you right click on files or folders?
Click on it and then select Extract files to Audigy Support Pack... or something similar. Don't just select Extract files.
Inside the new folder that should have appeared after 7Zip extracted everything, you'll see another folder named Drivers.
Copy this folder to your desktop.
Now reboot and start Windows in safe mode.
Click Start then Run and type cmd.exe to open a command prompt, then type (minus quotes):
    " takeown /f C:\Windows\*.cdf " and hit enter, then:
" cacls C:\Windows\*.cdf /G *insert your logon name*:F " and select Y and hit enter again.
You can now close down that command prompt window.
Go in to the Drivers folder you copied to your desktop and run Setup.exe and this should appear:
    <img border="0" src="http://theliability.googlepages.com/creative_uninstaller.png">
Select the same options as above and click OK and let it do it's thing - when it says reboot your PC click No or Cancel.
Now run Driver Sweeper and do a scan for all Creative drivers then click Clean.
Don't worry if it says things like file doesn't exist or some other error msg. It'll still get a few things.
No load up Add or Remove Programs (personally I prefer Revo Uninstaller) and remove anything related to Creative.
Finally load CCleaner and scan/clean your registery.
Reboot back in to normal Windows.
And that's it. A tedious process I know, but it's the only way I've found of properly stripping CLs drivers out.
You'll know if it's worked because when you now go and install Dan K's pack the installer should just run straight through. When there's still driver remnants the installer always says it's found previous drivers and need to uninstall them and reboot.
tbh I recommend running through this process regardless of wether or not your choose to stick with the old drivers or go with the newer ones.
Creative's drivers are infamous i'm afraid and at least after this your PC should be relati'vely clear or remnants.

    Like this......
The above pack was created by a very talented young man which allows your card a bit more life into Windows 7. The card does have problems with the Microphone under 64 bit operating systems and memory over 4 gigs. But **bleep** it still sounds great.

  • Audigy 2 drivers that w

So CL, are you planning on making drivers that work with Audigy 2 so that all of us with the Audigy 2 cards can play our games again with the same great performance we had before we installed Vista? The newest drivers you have for the Audigy 2 dont work like they did with XP. LOW SOUND, CRACKLING STATIC, NOT 5. ETC ETC. ITS NOT MY MOTHERBOARDITS NOT MY FAULT I INSTALLED VISTA
YOU NEED TO MAKE THE DRIVER WORK FOR ME
ITS FUNNY HOW IT ALL WORKED IN XP?MAKE A NEW DRIVER FOR THE AUDIGY?2 THAT WORKS

Have you checked your memory? It is quite possible that your RAM is causing the problem, despite the fact these errors only come up with the Audigy installed. Use Memtest, or search Microsoft and find the Windows Memory Diagnostic. If that is not the problem , then you?can try the following options in your BIOS:
Change the "Plug and Play OS" field to either Yes or No?and then select "Reset Configuration Data" if that option is present.<
Change the AGP Aperture Size. Usually a 256MB setting is best, but play with it to see if it makes any difference.<
Disable any onboard devices you are not using, ie. Serial Ports, parallel ports, PS/2 etc. This will free up memory and IRQ resources.<
If these options do not help, you can try changing the PCI Slot your card is plugged in.
PS:? For more information about the error read this article.

  • Easy way to install the entire audigy 1 drivers

    1.  Copy the entire audigy 1 setup cd to the hard drive
    2.  Go to the Setup Directory
    3.  Open the file audio.ini
    4.  Look for the line that says CardDetection = 1
    5.  Change the 1 to a 0 (this will disable the card detection)
    6.  Finish the installation
This will install the original drivers and software onto your computer.  To update the drivers, you have to download the drivers, unzip it, and then update the drivers thru the device manage "update driver" option.
The only problem is my 1394 still has an exclamation mark and my gameport still does not work.

    Correction:
After you change the CardDetection value, save the file.  Then run the setup.exe that is in the same directory.
    Hope this helps.

  • Audigy gamer drivers and downlo

I have had some problems with the audigy drivers listed on your website. I am installing them on a cleanly formatted hd with xp sp. I installed the 's first like instructed. I then rebooted and procceeded to install the eax4drv installation. On rebooting I got a bsod. I was not able to uninstall the drivers in xp's uninstall aplet because the files didn't show up there. I had to use device manager to uninstall the card. I really would of liked to be able to uninstall the proper way?
I now have the drivers installed and would like to be able to install the audigy headquarters. I have the update for the headquarters downloaded but need the original headquarters to make it load? I cannot load it from my orig disk by itself like I want?? These are obvious oversites. # we should be able to load applications independantly off the original disk. #2 The drivers are stand alone ....... be nice if the headquarters was too. I find your site to be a mishmash of downloads hard to decipher what you really need. Then doesn't have what you really need to boot? As the preeminent producer of sound cards I would exspect better.
Can we please get a download for the headquarters included? Please
As a suggestion for the future it would be nice to see sets of necessary drivers and headquarter controls in a single download. Kinda like nvidia does or ati. I have read here in your forums enough to know others would appreciate the same thing. Drivers can dri've a person batty as it is without introducing uncessary complications to them. Thankee

    Kani'ver,
Thank you for the input, I will pass the suggestions for the website along.
I do have an answer for oversight # however:
You can install individual applications off of the original disk by choosing to do a Custom Install. This will give you an application by application list of what you want and do not want installed. For the Audigy 2 and other more recent cards this is even easier as they have a modify/repair/remove option. I would suggest trying this to get Audio HQ installed prior to running the update. This could help to avoid the BSOD that you were getting.

  • Audigy 2 drivers will not update (can't find sound ca

    Hi everyone,
I've had the Audigy 2 card for quite some time now but I can't remember if I even updated the drivers before. I attempted to do so today, and the card didn't show on the auto update site. I tried manually downloading the update and when running it I get an error message stating no Sound Blaster Audigy 2 could be found on my system. The same applies for all other updates except for the EAX and surround mixer updates (the former works, the latter says my mixer is up to date).
The card itself it 00% functional, as well as all the software that comes with it. I've attempted to remove all the software and drivers and reinstall (including the device from the device settings) but the problem persists. I should however mention the drivers do not appear in the "Add remove programs" (I don't know if they should) and I had to run the installation CD and select uninstall.
    I'm running Windows 2000.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I was wondering, is there a file similar to ctzapxx.exe on the installation CD for the CL audigy 2 ZS that will allow the software for the sound card to run? I get the same message as you do (no audigy 2 zs hardware found on computer) but when trying to install the core drivers. I have tried installing the core drivers manually but to no effect, still no hardware present. Therefore, I tried randomly running ctzapxx.exe from my installation CD just to see if it would run and it did, the only problem is I dont have the base drivers so it technically updated nothing. Anyone know the name to a similar CT file that would work the same way but would instead install the audigy 2 software itself? Thanks.

  • Audigy 4 drivers do not find the device on Windows 2

I am running Windows 2000 SP4 with DirectX 9.0c. I am trying to install an Audigy 4 as an upgrade to my onboard sound. So far I cannot get the drivers to find the card. I always get "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" in Device Manager, no matter how I try to install the drivers.
I started by uninstalling my onboard sound drivers, shutting off the PC, installing the card, booting into the BIOS to disable the onboard sound device, then booting into Windows to install the drivers.
I've tried installing the drivers from the CD, downloading the web update from Creative's site, uninstalling all the drivers in safe mode, then re-installing, aloowing the web update to uninstall the cd drivers, etc etc.
When I try to re-install the drivers from the device manager, and tell the wizard to seach for a specific location, windows is looking for the file "$winnt$.inf", which does not exist in the temp directory where the driver extracts, and in fact there are only ini files, no inf files.
How do you get the driver to see the device on Windows 2000?

I forgot to say that i have also changed the PCI slot I installed the card in. Still no luck.

  • Audigy MP3+ Drivers Prob

    Hello...
I have an Audigy MP3+ and I have a new computer. I connect my Audigy Card in this new computer but I have problems with Drivers.
First, I installed the Drivers from the Original CD that came with the card.
But in the installation I got an error several times. Something like the drivers or software are out of date.
Then I visited the Creative site for download a recent drivers. The autoupdate told me that download there drivers: Audigy Series Driver v02.09.006
I did and when I tried to install them appears this error:
    Error Code: -50 : 0x80040707
    Error Information:

    $9..0.429ice Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 9600.30543
So what can I do to install the latest drivers?
    Thanks!!

You need to install all software from Creative CD, bundled w/ your card.
If you don't have the CD, check, if BadBoy has this CD in his collection - http://badboy.filefront.com/

  • Finding audigy 2 drivers on my computer ?

I am planning on upgrading my audio card and I had an audigy 2 installed. I would like to remove the drivers but? not sure how as I can't find anything that specifies audigy, creative etc? in my device manger. under my sound, video, game controllers I have "legacy audio" and "Legacy video capture devices" is that what I am looking for?

-Start with Control panel, Add/remove programs. Soundblaster Audigy 2 is the main entry in the list, do that one first. It should uninstall the drivers and (most) of the Creative software. There may then be some apps remaining?that have their own entry, depending on how/when you installed various bits.

  • Will there be new Audigy 2 Drivers for XP64? Or N

Will there be new drivers for XP64 and the Audigy 2? I FINALLY found why my Audigy 2 gives no sound in the center or rear channels. I have more than 2 GT of RAM. In my case I have 4G of ram and the I/O space used by the Audigy is mapped above the 2.8 GB boundary of XP and the drivers do not work. If I do a /maxmem=4096 in my boot.ini, everything works as it should.
So I know this has n=been reported for the XFi, and a fix will come, but will a fix come for the Audigy?
    Thankws

I also have the problem with Pinnacle PCTV/Audigy 2, reported by numerous users both in SB and Pinnacle forums. (The problem in short, is that if Timeshifting is enabled in PCTV Vision, the line-in is muted when recording, resulting in silent recordings. Effecti'vely, this means the timeshifting feature does not work with Audigy 2) I have an on-going support case with Pinnacle, but they do not seem to acknowledge the problem; they just go on about updating drivers and re-installing the software. Clearly, the problem is a quirk with Audigy 2 that PCTV does not handle. So who to blame? To add to my frustration, I discovered that my Audigy 2 is a Dell OEM version, so even if Creative were to fix this, I would have to wait for a Dell specific version of the driver. Sorry for all the negativism, but I needed to vent...
On the positi've side, I did discover a work-around that actually seems to work. I can enable the integrated sound on the mother board, connect the PCTV card to the integrated line-in and the head phone jack to the Audigy 2 line-in. Then configure PCTV to record sound from the integrated sound. This is not ideal, but again, it works

  • Audigy 2 Drivers Question - Having Trouble Playing Splinter Cell:Pandora Tomor

I am currently having a problem playing Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow on my system. The game runs in slow motion whenever I attempt to play it, and usually ends up crashing. The Ubisoft technical support representati've suggested that I update both my video card and sound card drivers after reviewing my system properties. He directed me to the latest Audigy 2 driver dated /24/06.
I purchased my Audigy 2 as an OEM product. It's model number is SB0240.
My system configuration is as follows:
    WIN XP Professional
    Abit AN8 32x (w/onboard audio disabled)
    Athlon X2 3800+
2*GB OCZ Dual Channel Platinum PC-3200
    eVGA 7900 GT KO
I downloaded the latest Audigy 2 driver from Creative's website, dated /24/06, and ran the autoinstall program. After completing my install, I went into Device Manager to ensure the driver loaded. When I check the driver for the Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM), it lists my driver version as 5.2.8.64, dated 2/8/2005. I assume this means that the newer driver did not load.Am I checking the correct device under Device Manager to ensure the new driver loaded? If not, where should I be looking? If so, why did the autoinstall not update my Audigy 2 driver? Creative technical support cannot assist in this matter as I have reached the end of my service agreement.

Here is in my opinion the perfect Ogg-Vorbis codec.
But be careful you've to put(if you've installed it)ac3 + matrixmixer settings on 32bit floating point or 6bit. (when select 32bit on ogg codec, then also 32bit on ac3 and/or matrixmixer.(but matrixmixer is not nessesary with Audigy2zs and above.)
This because the ogg codec is 6 or 32 bit(depending on settings)
So if something isn't working right check your ac3 and matrixmixer if you've them.
This codec is so cool it supports Ogg-Vorbis , even on CreativeMediaSourcePlayer2 (and all da options).
Here the link, and once again, creative please do support some better codecs(like aac/Ogg-Vorbis/flac,monkey etc. etc.)
Download Ogg-Vorbis ACM, unzip and richt click the install *.inf file:
