Audigy 2 ZS - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen (yes another of these threa

yes the horrid IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.
I have seen numerous posts about this same problem which appears to occur in more that one specific type of Creative sound card.
I encountered this problem only when I installed my Audigy 2 ZS sound card, nothing else in my machine changed.
Everything was a fresh install as I had just purchased a whole pile of new parts.
The first two times this error occured, I was in game, in these cases, I was in Nascar 2003. All of a sudden the sound would go from normal to a squeel or screech or high pitch sound, it sounded as thought the game sound had speed up lots. and shortly after this I was greeted with the Blue Screen Of Death , I have also noticed this has happened to me more times when changing menus in game ie: going from in the game back to the menus.
I read around and found many people with the same problem, nothing I have found has had a conclusi've answer.
I hope the lads at Creative are working hard on this one
Anyway, Here are my machine specs in the hope the Creative can perhaps sort out the problem, it's all new stuff and it's PCI express:
Hardware:
Athlon 64 3200+
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
Two sticks of Giel 52MB DDR400 Ram
Gigabyte Geforce 6600 GT 'turboforce'
Audigy2 ZS
two Serial ATA 60 GIG IBM dri'ves
One Seagate 60 GIG baracuda 4
DVD rom dri've
OCZ Modstream Power Supply 450 Watt.
Software:
Windows XP with SP2 and all available updates
AVG antivirus free personal edition
Latest Nforce 4 chipset drivers (6.53)
Latest Audigy 2 ZS drivers (5.2..442)
Nvidia 66.93 Graphics drivers
I have not managed to get a dump of the blue screen data (I can't find it)
but it was a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.
It'd be good to know if Creative are working on correcting this problem or not, and anything you would like us consumers to do to help you solve the problem (as it's obviously quite the nasty one)

Hi
There is couple of errors with this type of name.
Here is one exact same name as you wrote. This is from W2k errer book, but I think it's
same with XP.
Error:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Translation:
This usually means that a hardware device in your computer has failed. The most common
culprit is a faulty memory module on the motherboard, but it can also be the CPU,
motherboard, or dri've controllers. If the message occurs during or after installing new
hardware, one or more device drivers (small programs that let Windows communicate with a
computer?s hardware) may be using an improper memory address.
Solution:
If the problem is hardware failure, remove all unnecessary hardware devices from your
computer and try restarting your computer with a single memory module, disk controller,
and video card. If the computer boots successfully, install additional hardware, one
device at a time, rebooting after each installation. Continue this process until you
determine which hardware device is defecti've.
If the problem is a new hardware installation, remove the hardware and its device
driver. Contact the manufacturer to ensure that the device is compatible with Win2000.
Update the driver, if necessary.

  • Audigy 2 Value causing blue screen crashes in Fallout 3

A couple days ago I updated all my drivers and soon after realised that something was causing Fallout 3 to crash to a blue screen. After hours of trial and error I narrowed it down to the new Audigy driver cause when i uninstall the sound card the game works perfectly (except that there's no sound). I've tried rolling back to the drivers I was using before but for some crazy reason it's still crashing.
Another crazy thing is that no other game or program is having this problem.
Anyone have some advice or ideas about what to do?

wow....so I sent an email in to tech support asking for help with this problem and all I get in response is an email telling me that based on the information I provided they won't even look at my problem cause i'm no longer covered by the warranty....what a bunch of crap....
0 years of buying Sound Blaster sound cards, more than 8 of them during that time, and the first time I have a problem with one this is what I get?

  • Blue screen (Yes Apples posted fixes don't work for me)

I am tired tired... I can't get rid of the blue screen delay at startup in 10.5.2 or 10.5.3. I've tried the fixes. No go... I even tried wiping a drive and doing a Clean Leopard install. After adding the .5.3 update the long delay returns.
My delay is about 4 very long blue minutes. ( After a long gray screen with spinning gear. )
Could there be a hardware issue related to firewire brought out by the .5.2 & .5.3 updates?
I traced the 4 min. delay in my console log. see below.

Panther boots like lightning... Leopard 10.5 is slower but livable. The issue shows up after I do the .5.3 update... even on a clean install.

I was almost certain (from the logs) that there had to be a device incompatibility!
One suggestion: if this was compatible in 10.5.2 - make sure that you post feedback directly to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html/
Include the clipping from the log files - and the fact that you have resolved the problem by removing the device. Presumably the problem recurs if you plug the device back in?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Notebook: Blue screen at driver installat

After performing a cleansweap for previous drivers, I insert the card into the computer and start installing the drivers. Towards the end of the driver installation, I suppose once the drivers are being installed and communication with the device is happening, it blue screens.
Before installing I disabled the onboard audio in device manager and performed a selecti've startup to alleviate conflicts.
I'm at a loss, any ideas?

Well, after MANY attempts of installing, uninstalling, Disabling other devices, A crap load a failed restarts, some successful ones, I FINALLY got this stupid thing to work. Basically this is what I did after many experimenting, after my first failed attempt with a clean install of the newest drivers was this:
-Boot to safe mode uninstall failed driver install
    -Restart, tried to reinstall... failed...
-Safe mode, uninstalled again, Disabled all my other media devices.
-restarted... installed drivers from the CD the card came with, no blue screen... go figure
-restarted... no sound... but no blue screen... Installed updated drivers
-restarted... twice... the first restart didn't take
-Presto! I got sound... now that was easy >.
    -Re-enable all other devices
Hope this might help someone but this process was re-freaking-diculous... great job creative... my hat goes off to you.. meh...

  • Can Motion 5 replace a green screen and blue screen in the same shot?

Can Motion 5 replace a green screen and blue screen in the same shot? I would like to replace a green screen with one image, and a blue screen with another.

Fox gives a good example for keying green & blue (or any other color)  from the same shot. I'd suggest doing a few things to get better accuracy.
First, the motion keyer always removes the color it detects the most of by default (blue/green). You can override this by setting the Strength parameter to zero, then use the Color sample tool to select the color you want. The advantage is motion will do a good job of targeting only the hue (color) that you want to remove and set an appropriate starting softness.  It also will remove spill based on this color.  Looking at Fox's example movie and the shot, I'd approach the same shot this way:
    Remove the Blue
    1. Apply the keyer and set the strength to zero.
    2. Use the Sample Color tool and select the blue (or other color) to be removed.
    3. Decrease the spill level (if needed). In Fox's example the spill from the blue glasses is going to be minimal, especially compared to the green screen, your shot may need different adjustments. Only de-spilling what you need to will give you more accurate color right away and minimize additional color correction that might be needed later.
    4. Use the Color selection tools (Chroma wheel/Luma bar) to fine tune.  Ideally you want a minimal tolerance, the inner selection, with a nice fall off, the outer selection. Try with the Scrub boxes setting first, then switch to manual if you need more control. Again see Fox's example.
    Remove Green
It's the same as the blue, you could apply the keyed to the same clip or a parent group, at this point it's many user preference.
With these techniques you can remove any color from a shot or create a mask based on a color. BTW, as you are learning to use the keyer I'd highly recommend  having the Color Selection open so you can see the graphs.  These give you real time feedback as you make selections and changes with the Strength, Refine and Color selection tools.  Watch what happens as you make selection or changes, sometimes the problem area is actually in the brightness not the color, or the softness may change  more than the tolerance selection.  Observing what is happening in these graphs will help you figure out wha to change and speed things up.

  • Constant blue screen

So I just bought my laptop about two weeks now.. and the very first day i had a blue screen... now each day everytime i turn it on the blue screen comes on like about three times then for the rest of the time it's good.. then when i go on the internet.. the blue screen comes on the it restarts and then it's fine.... i scan the computer to see if there is any viruses but nothing comes up. and now all of a sudden some of my programs don't work, windows closes the programs but doesn't have a solution to why... please help did i get a deffect or what????
    My model is Satellite L305-S5947
    Thank you

The fastest thing I would do is pop in the Restore CD and Restore the laptop to factory, and see if the problem is cured, looks like a corrupted driver thats all, and once you update DONT connect to the internet just surf the computer here n there and restart it couple times, hibernate it, sleep it, test it play a dvd, cd, etc, etc
Then connect to the internet via wifi, or lan , then if the blue screen comes up then you know, its your network adapters...Try to find an update driver via windows update or on this website...
Return the product and get another one if possible would be the last option...hope this helps..

  • Blue screen when re-opening iTunes 9.0.3 w/ iPod Classic already plugged in

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or something similar.
I have already reported this as a potential bug to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
This is regarding iTunes 9.0.3.15 for Windows
Potential bug: Windows blue screen (SYSTEMSERVICEEXCEPTION) when re-opening iTunes with iPod Classic 120GB already plugged into USB port.
I have been able to replicate this problem twice now. Here are the exact steps:
    1. Plug iPod Classic 120GB (bought new in November 2008) into a USB port and iTunes opens and syncs (I have it set to manually manage my iPod).
    2. Use iTunes for a bit, then click the eject icon next to my iPod in iTunes (when it's not syncing) but leave iPod plugged into the USB port (to charge).
    3. Close iTunes and use Internet Explorer for a few minutes and close Internet Explorer (with no other apps running).
    4. Open iTunes. iTunes connects to iPod (iPod screen shows "Connected").
    5. Scroll through the iTunes Music Library in List view, click any music file and a Windows Blue Screen appears (SYSTEMSERVICEEXCEPTION), does a memory dump and then forces the computer to restart.
So far, the blue screen only occurs under these specific circumstances. I do not know if this problem existed before iTunes 9.0.3.15 as I have never tried the above steps in earlier versions. I just happened to be able to retrace my steps to notice the blue screen problem in 9.0.3.15
This is the first time I have ever encountered a Windows Vista blue screen error in the year and half I have used Vista.
I am running Windows Vista SP1 64-bit on an HP Pavilion dv7-1014ca notebook.

I've gotten the exact same error message and problem... When I connect my iPod Nano 3Gen, iTunes comes up -- syncing begins -- and then immediately triggers a blue screen with the SystemServiceException error and a crash dump is generated. I have been unable to find a resolution in 3-4 weeks of searching, including HP Technical Support, trolling the Windows 7 Support sites, and now, here. The Advice given by HP was to uninstall all USB drivers and let reboot reinstall them. That didn't work. Then they asked me to reboot my PC, hit F10 until the BIOS came up, and then find and disable the "enable legacy USB" capability -- except that no such setting is available in my BIOS. Obviously it's a driver issue, and just as obviously it's a Windows 7 / iTunes issue -- but no one is offering a solution, yet.

  • My touchsmart will not boot allI get is a blue screen with f key to do different things

My Touch smart desk top will not boot when I turn it on all I get is a blue screen with HP in the center and f key functions

    Hello charleshobby:
Your computers start up has been corrupted. No big deal. Turn on your computer hold down on F-8 key as you turn it on. This should put you in safe mode. If f-8 key fails then just disconnect the power cord at the power adapter and plug it back in and turn on your computer (This is called a fource start up) automatically puts your computer into safe mode. Use your arrow kek select safe mode with net work. Top one I belive. In safe mode close out Help and Support window displayed. Open up Recovery Manger and select Microsoft System Restore. Click next then click next again now a list of dates will appair choose a date before this event occured. Click next and let your computer complete the sytem restore. My guess Microsft up dates caused this issue. After this is finished now go back and change all your update setting to down load up dates but let me choose witch ones to install. Only install three at a time. To a void future occurances and black screen or blue screen issues. Follow these steps for blue screen or black screen. Please click on Kudos if this has resolved your issue. Thank you frrw.

  • Blue screen of death on newer versions of skype (n...

Even the attempt to install 6.21.0.104, Blue screens my laptop. After three blue screens and the following recovery screens, I cannot put this poor laptop through many more of these. There is no reason that Skype should cause a system failure of this kind. (Or possible failure because blue screens are suposedly prevention measures to ya know... prevent damage.) Although its still causing damage.
Tried reinstalling, tried different version, and tried other various things involving other programs and firewall settings. Nothing works.
I am attempting to install an offline installer for 6.14. Hopefully it works and doesn't destroy this laptop.

Yeah I meant to do that part. I was able to instal the older version but attempting to run it has the same blue screen result. I even tried running it in safemode. However, it errors out of skype. Does not provide me with any error codes either, but its better than a blue screen.
I assume that something in the newest version messed up the computer somehow, I just don't have time at this very moment to go search it out and deal with it. Just ridiculous that Skype would mess up that badly.

  • ANOTHER blue screen post - yes I've read the others

Please don't post any links to the Apple support docs. I've read them all, tried it, and their solutions do nothing. My system does not have the "ApplicationEnhancer.bundle" file present, and these are BRAND NEW 10.5 installs (not upgrades), which are going to blue screen within minutes or hours after install, so doing an "archive and install" is just pointless as doing a fresh install is the same thing.
So, now I have tried THREE different completely fresh (reformatted disk) installs of Leopard on my Dual 2.5 G5, and every single time I end up with a blue screen after I restart once or twice. This has happened right after a 10.5.0 install from the DVD on the first restart (before even entering account info), and it has happened after getting all the way to 10.5.3 with other system software up-to-date, then next morning, blue screen, no startup. In 2 of the 3 instances, I never installed ANY other software other than what popped up in software update, and in the 3rd instance I got as far as Photoshop and setting up my eMail before back to blue screen fun.
What's the deal? Leopard is just unusable on a Dual G5? I got it installed on a much older eMac and 12" Powerbook G4 with no issues using the same install DVD, and the G5 always appears to be fine, until a restart and then nada. I'm very careful to repair disk permissions before and after any software updates, and as I said, I've barely installed any software on the computer, and actually installed no extra software in a couple of cases, yet the problem continues.
Other interesting facts: I would normally hold down 'option' and choose my backup cloned Tiger firewire volume to boot up off of since I can't boot up off the internal, but holding option also results in an infinite spinning watch icon - the internal Leopard volume is visible, but it never shows my external 10.4 volume and never stops spinning the watch so I can't actually choose an option anyway.
At this point, I'm going to clone my backup Tiger OS back to my internal and give up on 10.5, but would love to know why this is happening, and why when there are seemingly dozens of other threads about the same issue that there is no solution.

    --------

That IS interesting, because at that stage you are not running Leopard. OS X has not yet loaded, and you are only running Startup Manager, which is in the Mac's firmware. Since you are experiencing problems even before OS X has booted, I wonder if you have a hardware problem - either a bad or loose internal component or a flaky external cable, hub, or device. Try disconnecting any external devices or hubs. I would also try resetting PRAM and running Apple Hardware Test if you haven't already done so.

  • Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3

FAudigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3! Specs
    Asus a8n-sli
    GB RAM
    6600 GT
    Audigy 4
    LC Power 550 W PSU
I put in the installation CD that comes with the card. I want to install everything (full install), and mid-install I get a blue screen.
I then uninstalled everything and tried only to install the updated drivers from the website in safe-mode and still a blue screen. Should I get the dump file and send it to Creative?
How do get this card to work like it should? I also have a remote control that came together with the card.
Im currently using the onboard AC97 Realtek ALC850 soundcard.
Whats the whole procedure to make this work? Detailed please. How do I eliminate all traces of the audigy on my PC?

Re: Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP38 Perhaps you'd want to read this old thread of mine about my misadventures with the same exact card you are trying to use. IMHO that card was not worth the time and money I spent on it (even even less the time and money it caused me to spend afterwards to repair the damage it caused.

  • Another Flickering Blue Screen: When clicking on Video Links

Ok, so i recently took my computer into the apple store to have my screen replaced because of a discolored spot. when i got it back i saw on the receipt that they replaced my motherboard because of an accidental damage.
that was about a month ago. it's been working fine since then. but today i found out that when i was on facebook and listening to itunes, i clicked on a youtube like someone posted and i got my whole computer to flash a blue screen (like when it's starting up) and then it took me back to my desktop in about 4 seconds with all applications closed and just starting up, almost like it rebooted my computer in a matter of 4 seconds.
i thought it was itunes, so i turned it off and clicked on the same link on facebook. same thing happened.
so i thought it was that one link. so i clicked on someone else's youtube video link. same thing happened.
so i thought it was facebook, went to a website (engadget.com) and clicked a link to a video they had uploaded. same thing happened.
but it's only when i click on the link to go to another page of a video. if i clicked on the embedded video it would play fine.
so i took a video of this happening on my cell phone just so no one knew i was crazy if it randomly would stop happening. and sure enough, i restarted my computer, and it all went away now, so i can't recreate the problem.
i don't use any external monitors ever, and i know that's been the issue for many other people on the forums with this issue.
do you think it was the motherboard being replaced?  or is there something else it could have been?
i can provide any details you may need to help determine any issue

I'm not sure if there is a workaround to this but I would probably file a bug for this at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org

  • Blue Screen constantly after installing Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Noteb

I don't knwo what to do, my computer is now completely non-functional, I am on my wifes laptop so that I can write this
I installed the Audigy 2ZS Notebook on my laptop and I went to reboot, after the reboot I get the blue screen every time after about 30 seconds, always.
i am now down a laptop and I can't reach CL tech support because they are "closed"
    can anyone help me?
The blue screen is always "a process or thread crucial to the system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated"
    I have a emachines M530
    AMD .8ghz mobile
    52mb ramATI Radeon IGP320M
    AC97 On board audio
I am in safe mode right now trying to do some things to fix it, but nothing is workiing. I eveni deleted ALL sound drivers out of the system, that didn't work
I also tried downloading the latest install from Creative Labs and installing it, that didn't work either
I am have seen other forum posts about upgrading bios and all that, but I really don't have much desire to go into all that, fact is this software shoudl work and not mess up people computers

Well, in all honesty, I don't see how you can come on here telling me to use the email support when that is just what I did, and have YET to recieve an answer back.... I came on here expecting some sort of a response, from users or tech support, and I didn't get either, while at the same time I submitted a support ticket through the email support system, I didn't get a response there either. So, you "scolding" me for using this forum and getting frustrated is like slapping the thirsty african child for trying to drink from the ri'ver while the locked off water fountain is right next to him. I was venting my frustration from the lack of response through email on here so that other can maybe think twice before buying a creative product if they expect prompt support for their purchases.
I am not having the issue again, I used the downloaded updated drivers from the creative site. All is well, and while I dread if any issues actually do happen to come up again, it seems to be working fine.
btw, once again, let me state, that it is going on 2 days now and someone has yet to email me back from tech support. I am glad I was all right with formatting, I can't imagine what some of your other customers would do if they installed your software and their computer crashed.

  • T500 - JUST ANOTHER BLUE SCREEN

I've been getting the kiss of death blue screen crash ever since I bought the laptop in January 2009.  ONCE A WEEK average.  My hardware provider says it can't be true because he tested it, that it must be a software issue.  IT'S NOT.  I've been on the phone with tech support in Atlanta, to no avail.  I just had to reinstall and even buy some new upgraded software after my last crash that wiped everything off the hard drive.  My hardware provider wiped off Vista and put on XP.  Since everything has been put back on, I've had 3 crashes in 3 days, and am presently doing ANOTHER hard drive Full System Test.  I make a living on this computer, and have lost several thousand dollars in the last 2 weeks.  I paid for the best-of-the-best and all accessories, and can't afford to buy a different laptop.  SOMEBODY HELP, PLEASE.

I had a somewhat similar problem with my T500. It was due to a Windows update called "SQL Server Express SP3". What I did was that I restored the systerm to a previous point and skipped to install this update. Its working fine since then.

Anyway, when you repair disk it goes through the whole process, says repair completed, but the verify disk permissions and repair disk permissions stay greyed out. Is there anything I can do to get my workhorse working again?
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Sean

    further investigation tells me this
I connected the blue screening mac to another via firewire as a target disk. the hd would not mount, but i could run the same verify and repair in disk utility, but the disk permissions buttons were still greyed out. And i couldn't mount it from there. I then tried the migration assistant, but again it couldn't see the disk.
what am i doing wrong, or what do i need to do differently?
