Audigy 2 zs midi probl

Hey Everybody.
I have recently brought a audigy 2 zs (OEM), which i have upgraded from onbord sound. I have installed a joystick/midi bracket which came with my motherbord, and have connected it to my midi keyboard, but i am having problems interfacing it.
I am running reason 3 and logic 5 on windows 2000 pro and both of them are not reporting any midi comunication. I tried using the piano in audio hq but the same result occoured. I also noted that the eax speaker calibration did not work and gennerated errors, but thte rest of the creative software works fine.
Would this be caused because I have not brought the official creative midi bracket, or due to bad installation of drivers. I have also recently downloaded the newly released drivers from the website and I am still having problems.

I dont need the equalizer for my games. Apparently it gets switched off automatically when I play games but it somehow doesnt get switched on again after I quit. And thats my problem...its irritating taht I have to do this manually. Remember...after I quit a game...the equalizer is off even though it shows its activated in the Creative options. If I access these equalizer options again, it gets turned on (I can hear this while playing mp3's).
It may sound confusing but this problem is really nagging me...and I need to know if I have to take the soundcard back and get it replaced.

Sound Blaster Audigy Joystick/midi brac

I was wondering if anyone knows where someone can get the joystick/midi bracket for the Sound Blast Audigy cards (SB0090)? I am going to be upgrading some components (including mobo which I will then lose my joystick port) and I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick that works perfectly that I enjoy using when I play Battlefield 942 and some other games. Pardon me for saying that I did not detect the noise you mentioned in your attached MP3 file. I can't be sure it's the noise or is it part of the music; especially towards the end of the playback. I'm using VLC player btw.
Perhaps, you may like to test it with another media player.

Audigy Strange Power Probl

I have an audigy platinum and cant get the dri'vebay to work, so I took it out of my system to investigate and removed the cover from the optical output to check the power.
When I remove the data ribbon that connects the dri'vebay to the soundcard the dri'vebay powers up and the optical light comes on. When I remove the ribbon again, the power is lost and the light goes off!
Whats the problem here?
It isnt the cables, i've swapped them for others and my power supply is an adequate 550w.
Im using windows vista and the audigy drivers that come with the xfi, but have also tried the audigy release drivers.

In Control Panel, Sounds and Multimedia (or whatever it's called on your system), Audio tab, make sure your Audigy 2 ZS is selected as the preferred Playback, Recording, and Midi device. At the bottom of the Audio tab, check the box to "Use only preferred devices."

SB Audigy 2 Platinium probl

I recently did a complete reformat and then installed Windows XP Pro SP2 (english) on my computer. I've noticed some problems afterwards, amongst those some problems relating to my Audigy 2 card (I think so at least).
The first problem is that my multimedia keyboard won't work properly. All keys except for the volume down/up and mute keys are working, even the webbrowser and email keys. The question is, why aren't those keys working? The keyboard is a normal keyboard with the web/mail, mediaplayer controls and volume controls multimedia keys.
The second problem is that the "Voice playback"-setting in the "Sounds and Audio devices properties"-window is set to nothing, and it can't be changed. This causes (from my experience) sounds in Flash movies, Windows sounds and other MIDI sounds to not being able to be played. Is this a known problem, and is there a fix for this?

Thanks for that tip, that may make it so I don't have to do stupid things to get it to see the driver.
Next step though is to find a way to keep the Driver from mysteriously uninstalling or borking itself so I don't have to keep reinstalling it. Any ideas?

Audigy 2 Platinum probl

I have Audigy 2 Platinum up to date with drivers and software. Running a XPsp2 pentium 4 2.4 pc. I have suddenly developed a problem. It appears to be able to play audio with media player but I can not get any audio from aux input. I have checked the mixer to make sure it is not muted and ran diagnostics which says everything is ok. Also my remote control does not seem to work. It doesn't show up on installed software list but is shown to have been installed in log. Next my midi input is not recognized. And last, there is no speaker option in speaker configuration drop down list. I can run a test on the speakers and get audio though. I have no clue where to begin. Reinstall? The only recent change to my pc was a update of my zonealarm firewall.

I came here looking for this exact problem. However mine is NEVER in sync when I use the SPDIF mode. As soon as I turn it to normal stereo it works fine. In a related issue, the sound playback of any DVD is about half of everything else on my system. I have to turn up the volume to about 80% to hear a DVD at a listenable level whereas normal volume for me is at 40%.
My stats are as follows: P4 3.2c, Abit IC7-G, 2GB DDR PC3200, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, BFG 6800GT OC, XP Home SP2, and the Nvidia DVD Decoder. Everything is running the latest drivers. The volume problem has been happening ever since I purchased this ZS. I never had the problem with my older Audigy 2. The SPDIF issue is new to me since I have only recently been using it. Any ideas?

Vista 64 - Audigy 4 Microphone probl

I have make some search here but don't found an answer for my problem. Perhaps there is no real answer...
So my problem is my microphone make weird noise when I recorded my self with the recorded tool of Vista.
My specs are :
Vista 64
4 GB
SB Audigy 4 Pro.
I deactivate my onboard audio card in the BIOS.
I deactivate all other inputs than my mic line/microphone.
I change with the two last drivers for Vista 64.
Nothing...
I precise, no problem with my Windows XP or Ubuntu partitions.
Any help possible?

SB Audigy 4 Driver Probl

At least, I *think* it's a driver problem. Let me start from the beginning.
Just about every other time I start up my PC, my SB Audigy 4 (Retail) runs into a problem. That is, the nice Exclamation Point shows up, and it doesn't see it as a SB Audigy 4, but rather a "Multimedia Audio Controller" (MAC for short). So I uninstall the MAC, reboot (note, at reboot, it shows it as a Creative Soundblaster Audigy Audio Processor, still with the yellow exclamation point next to it, and still with (CODE 0) attached, and install the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe drivers. (Why, oh why does it only come in EXE format? What happened to the Good old days of .inf files?)

I install, and everything goes well. I reboot, and my Sound drivers are there, so I can play my favorite games. But, the next time I reboot my PC, I'll have lost my Sound Drivers again --- though it doesn't happen every time, but I can't go more than 2 reboots without it happening again.
I'm really getting tired of reinstalling these drivers on every boot up. Does anyone have the skinny?

AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (333mhz Barton)
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Mobo (Via chipset - Newest Hyperion Drivers installed) - Motherboard updated.

Creative Audigy 4 Pro probl

Speaker configurations are made on Speaker Settings -panel (can be runned from Surround Mixer too).
Perhaps on Speaker Settings -> digital output only may help when you connect through digital output. There is also utility called CTPanel you may want to check out.

Audigy 4 decoding probl

Hello all!
I just became the owner of an audigy 4 pro and everything seems to be working fine except for the hardware ac3 and dts decoding.
Both windows media player 0 and powerdvd 5 behave as if the dvd is scratched (glitchy playback) when i turn on the spdif output.
I tried to play a vob file from the hard dri've to make sure it doesn't have anything to do with data transferring and i got the same problem.
There's no conflict with my graphics card drivers (radeon 9600pro) and the on-screen dolby/dts logo appearing when i start playback, because i turned the osd off and the problem persists...
Powerdvd's soft decoding works fine but i'd rather have it the hardware way... after all i paid for it.
Strange thing -dvd audio works flawlessly.
I previously had the li've 5. installed, could there be any conflict with the old drivers?
Driver problem or faulty card?

Well I have to say thank you for saving me $300.00 bucks. I have the Audigy 2ZS Platinum and it does exactly the same thing. When the "scratching" finally goes away, the audio and video are out of sync and I cannot seem to fix it. It appears that this is something of an emerging problem as I have seen more and more people complain about it in the last couple of months. I have yet to find the answer to fix it and Creative has not responded here concerning the issue, at least that I have seen. I am using the nVIDIA DVD Decoder with a GeForce 6800GT OC and I get the same response with both Dolby Digital and DTS. I have seen various postings of people trying many different options such as changing PCI slots and manually setting IRQ's but this has not remedied the situation. I am wondering if it is driver or hardware related. Does anyone at Creative know anything about these problems?

Audigy 4 pro probl

I am having problems getting dts sound from my audigy 4 pro soundcard.
i am using inspire t7900 speakers.
when i play a movie in powerdvd i only get 2 front channel working, even though i select dts format.
what am i doing wrong?
i get the same effect when a play a movie on my dvd player [home]. i am using the left and right audio leads commected toline in 3 on the back of the audigy external box, but still only get two channels.
Please help, what am i doing wrong?

Do you have the 2 pin Digital cable running from the DVDrom dri've to you card or to/from the I/O port?
Use it if you dont.
Go to windows control panel then audio HQ.
Open up device controls and then decoder.
Select SPDIF passthrough. ( ensure you speaker set up can decode it though ) Id say yours do
In control panel open up sound and audio devices then hardware. Select your sound card in the list.
Highlight and go properties then go to properties in the next window.
Open up each device and ensure its set to use audio features on this device.
With powerdvd in the advance options for audio ensure its set to 5. or which ever speaker set you have. Same with audio in windows control panel and Creative Surround Mixer.
What codecs/filters are you running? IF you have installed too many codec packs that can/may cause issues.
For the most part all you need is WMP0 + AC3 filter and or FFDshow. Your DVD player software ( your case Power DVD ) and Xvid or full Divx version, for most common AVI files and the like.
In the advance options in Power DVD is there an Audio option for SPDIF? If yes, select it.
Also ensure its set to use your card and NOT default audio device which is, I think wav - direct sound, in other words not full range, you want full range that your card can do. an excample.
WMP has 2 options for its sond device - open up tools, options, devices then speakers - properties. Here you will see default direct sound and then your card. You should have simular setup system in Power DVD.
If that fails.
Can you uninstall Power DVD and try WinDVD, you may have this with your mainboard?
If you can get WIN DVD ensure its set up to use SPDIF.
Ok, try that for starters and see how you go.

Hello Everyone at Creative/Forum Users! I'm new here so nice to meet you all...
I have a 5. speaker system using them with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum...
Scenario: When I'm calibrating the speakers .. I hear the correct sound through the right speaker... like when the person is identifying the speaker, it's the correct ones (rear ones work here)....all settings are on 5. ... but when i click to hear the 'Channel' or 'Noise' test in the creative program i hear the 'Rear Left' in the 'Front Left' and the 'Rear Right' in the 'Front Right' ... What is the problem?
My games aren't detecting the Surround Sound either ( GW:Nightfall and NFSC )
I've already tried uninstalling the drivers, restarting and installing either with my original cd driver / website driver ...

SB Audigy 2 Value probl

I'm new around here and I hope someone will be able to help me.
A few days ago, I bought a Sounblaster Audigy 2 Value card and installed it in my computer. Everything went well. I configuured it to go with my then, 2 stereo speakers.
Two days later, as I was very satisfied with the card, I decided to add much better 5. speakers. I could not find the quality Soundblaster speakers I would have liked in my area so, I finally decided to buy the Logitech Z5500 digital speakers.
I intalled the speakers and just about everything went fine except I have a few problems.
The speakers (all 6 of them) play very well but when I try to play a DVD and use the "DTS surround" setting, I have no sound at all. If I use the "Stereo surround" setting, everything is fine. For example, on the Eagles "Hell freezes over" DVD, there is a song that can only be listened to if you have a DTS decoder, well, I can not listen to that song.
Another "problem" has to do with the Creative "Speaker calibrator". Even if I modified the settings to "5.", it only recognizes 2 speakers on my system(even if all 6 speakers are playing).
When I tried testing the speakers, I can only hear the sound/voice in the "Front left and front right speakers. No sound whatsoever in the remaining four speakers.
Maybe I should not have listened to the guy who sold me the speakers. He assured me that all I had to do was connect the green, black and yellow cables from the "Digital Sound Touch Control Center" to the soundcard and that it was not useful at all to buy a coaxial or digital cables.
I would appreciate some help, please.

Audigy SE Mic Probl

I recently got an Audigy SE and plugged in my headphones to the Line-in (Green plug) and the mic to the "Flexijack" (blue plug). Now, my mic is not recognized by Windows. If I try to open Teamspeak. it says I do no have a sound.out device. If I try to test hardware, it does not see the mic. I am sure it is plugged in the correct spot. Furthermore, I went into the mixer and apparently the microphone can be set both as a source and a recording device. Anyway, I went in there and made sure mic was set as a recording device. Whenever it is set as the recording device, I hear a low hiss in my headphones, yet when I switch my mic to the headphone plug, it doesn't pick up on the mic there, either.
So, basically, the card is not picking up my mic, and if I have my mic unmuted, then I hear a hiss in my headphones. Anybody have a suggestion?

Same card, same issue with the mic not being recognised even though the line is swithced off.
There are a lot of issues here posted that go unanswered and unresolved and i think the lack of input or help from creative admins says quite a lot.

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Probl

Alright, so here's the scoop on my problem. I have a pre-built computer, an e-machines T4892 that I have been upgrading on my own. I added a Radeon 9800 PRO graphics card and that works just fine. Today for a late birthday present I got the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card I asked for. Before installing it I had the integrated audio of Realtek AC'97 Audio. I believe I removed those drivers but I'm not quite certain, I want to Add/Remove Programs and removed Realtek AC'97 Audio and it's now gone. Yet when I go into C:\Drivers\Audio the Realtek Icons are still there plus the Installation icon. So when I started up my computer after I put the card in, I bought this card from www.newegg.com by the way, the things in the bottom right hand corner that tell you you have new hardware popped up and all of that, it asked me to install from a specific location such as the installation cd or an advanced location, I clicked specific location because I put in the CD. It said it could not find it. So I just shrugged and went double clicked on the icon for the D: dri've and the autorun started. I installed the drivers and the Music player I forget the name. Everything was good, so I restarted my computer. When I log into my account (this is a shared computer) everything starts up fine except about 5 seconds later I look at my taskbar and Audigy.exe pops up and all of a sudden my computer restarts. I continued to log into my account and this kept on happening. So when I logged in for the last time I quickly did CTRL+ALT+DEL and went to processes, endeded audigy.exe and I was able to keep my computer on, this is currently how I am running. So I decided the audio driver was probably out of date so I went and downloaded the new drivers and restarted my computer. When I logged into my account, there's usually a windows sound that plays, that did not play, and 5 seconds later the computer restarted again. Plus when it restarted in the bottom right hand corner a little box would come up saying a Multimedia Audio Controller has been detected and it would come up and say Install the Software automatically (Recommended) and Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), before it would restart. So now I'm stuck with the problem of my computer restarting if I don't quickly end audigy.exe and I have no sound. If you could help me that would be great.

I've been fiddling around in the Device Manager and it has Other Devices and under it is Multimedia Audio Controller, I can choose to either reinstall the driver udate the driver, disable it, or uninstall it. Here's what comes up on properties

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
Help would be appreciated here. I'm a big gamer and would like to have this up and running before our first CAL Match.

Audigy 2 zs probl

ok I run windows xp x64 pro and im having some issues it started just today but I noticed when I tried to play some CSS my sound wasnt workin on my 5. system.. ImageShack.us[/img]> ok wheres the other speaker settings right? thats what I want to know, so uninstalled the audio console and I uninstalled the device from my device manager, i've done system restores and it stays the same... so when I did try to reinstall the drivers. it gave me a message saying it could not due to a previous driver installation.. ok I tried rebooting the comp and then doing it .. didnt work... my cousin... 2 years old broke my official.. driver cd so i dont have none of the good stuff anymore =\ but i use the drivers that the website provides instead.. I have no problem with them... I want to know how I fix it... and why its doing it to be exact.

now download or if u already have the driver right click the file if u enable "context menus option" in at setup u should see winrar go "extract to your file name" in my case SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006
inside the folder SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006 open it go in the driver folder and clickon the setup.exe choose uninstall drivers & delete all shared Creative audio files.
