Audigy 2 ZS Plat. Pro and Soundforge 8 Prob

Got a question... Currently I have to record 48,000Hz - 6bit Stereo and down sample to 44.K to make a CD. Anyone have any clue when I choose 44. from the get go, I get an error saying "An Error Occurred while opening an audio device. An Unsupported media type was requested. Details >> :Line-In L/Line-In R does not support 44,00 Hz at 6 bits"
Under Options>>Preferences>>Audio tab:
I have selected "SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [DF00]" as the device, Default playback is "Wave" default recording device is "Line-In 3 L/Line-In 3 R"
Ive tried selecting other recording devices even tried changing the Audio device type to "SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [DF00]" even "Creative ASIO" and get the same error anytime I record @ 44. x 6bit....
Any Clue?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro and Cubase AI 4 issues

    +? Hello everyone!
Just wondered if anyone had come across this before?
I'm just setting up a project in Cubase AI 4 that came with my Yamaha MM6. I've selected Creative ASIO driver, direct monitoring, release into background etc...and I've set up the inputs and outputs (Line In 3 plus Mic).
When I play the keyboard, I'm seeing the audio registering on the mixer in Cubase, but no sound is coming through my speakers. I've checked that the Creative mixer Line In 3 wasnt muted and tested the speakers, but still nothing.
However...if the Creative Mixer is open and I maximise it while I'm using Cubase, I can suddenly hear my keyboard..!.*?
Erm...does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I have to say that the Creative mixer has always caused me a headache when recording, but that might just be because I'm missing something....
    Cheers

  • SB Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro and MXL 990 Phantom power microph

I recently acquired the microphone which is "phantom power".
I am presuming that it is not compatible with the sound card, would that be true?
if any walkaround could be suggested so that i can use a better quality mic with the sound card it would be much appreciated.
phantom power 48v +/- 4 (if that means anything).
I will be getting a mixer soon as well to aid a variety of projects but all my hardware is sourced at relati've low cost so compatibility issues cannot be tested in advance. again if there are any issues with connecting to the hub it would be good to know.
    cheers

  • Audigy 2 ZS plat Pro, "What you hear"? problem PLEASE H

Hello, im a gamer, I play cs:source. I just bought the plat pro and I have issues. In gaming you must use a microphone to communicate. And everything was great with my Audigy gamer. But after purchasing the plat pro I noticed I had a problem. In the system volume properties in recording windows xp has the default playback as "what you hear". It doesnt transmit what you speak into the microphone, it transmits "what you hear" Lets say you were listening to music and you try to talk into the mic. All they hear is the music, even though you have headphones on and the microphone isnt picking it up. Anyways, thats what "What you hear" does. So I select microphone in the recording properties and all is great, problem fixed. but when I load up cs:source and when I connect to a server it resets windows defaults to "what you hear" So everytime I connect to a server and try to talk all they hear are my game sounds. yes I can alt tab after connectiing to a server and switch it back again to "microphone" but its quite a hassle.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and XP

I have Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Logitech Z-5300 5. Speakers. When using XP SP, everything worked perfectly, then I upgraded to SP2. It has been a complete multimedia nightmare.
When using the diagnostic tools, each speaker works perfectly except will always have a faded voice to the point where I cannot hear the voice but I can hear something was attempting.
WinAMP or Media player or any other MP3 player to include tools coming with creative labs products, I get music only out of a single (Center) speaker. The rest lay silent. I upgraded my sound card drivers using Creative Lab's website. Any ideas how to get my system back to normal sound quality, as of this moment I am thinking creative lab's products do not work correctly under SP2.
Any help would be appreceated and for the money spent on the card, I kind of expect creative to have a solution.

    Roaming,
Try cleansweeping and reinstalling the sound card. Sometimes after a major update (like a service pack) some hardware or software needs to be reinstalled. Here is a link to the article that describes how to cleansweep your card.

  • Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro and msvcrt.

scard: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
    OS: Windows XP SP3
    msvcrt.dll: 7.0.2600.552 located only in windows\system32 and windows\ServicePackFiles\i386
I tried to update the driver. (Full uninstall of the previous one as per the FAQ plus some cleaning tools like Driver Sweeper, Driver Cleaner, regcleaners etc) I started getting MANY msgs about "different".exe - ENTRY POINT NOT FOUND "The procedure entry point _mbsnbcpy_s could not be located in dynamic link library msvcrt.dll" (the"different".exe contains eg. CTRegSvr.EXE among others).
After restart the driver works but I don't have access to any Creative tools like the mixer for example. It's just the sound working. Nothing else.
I uninstalled everything again. After the previously described cleaning proccess I tried to reinstall the old driver from the installation CD. Same thing. Many errors during the installation proccess about "ENTRY POINT NOT FOUND on msvcrt.dll".
    Any Ideas?
    I appreciate the help

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Inspire T7700 does not recognize Mic on Audio Control

    Hi folks,
I decided to hook up my headphone and mic sets to the Audio Control Pod for the first time recently to chat online. I'm not sure if I ever tried this when I bought the Inspire T7700 speaker system, but I cannot seem to get any voice to come through in Windows' Sound Recorder (the headphones work fine). I'm hoping that someone here can help...otherwise, I suppose I'll have to find an alternate solution than using my soundcard system.
    Here are some specs:
OS: Windows XP SP2 and all current updates
Soundcard: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Speakers: Inspire T7700 with Audio Control Pod (contains the headphone and mic jack)
    Here's what I have tried:
    . Updated drivers to: SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
    2. Tested headsets and mics out on another one of my computers with a SoundBlaster Li've. They work fine.
    3. Set each audio source with full volume in the Recording Control window as the source while recording in Windows' Sound Recorder (I know some of these aren't right, but I tried them all nonetheless):
    - MIDI Synth
    - Line-In 3
    - Line-In /Mic (this should be the one, I think)
    - S/PDIF-In
    - Auxiliary (this might be the one for the Audio Control Pod)
    - "What U Hear"
    - Line-In 2
    - CD Digital
    - Wave
    4. Installed the Creative software from the official CD to manage the audio and speaker settings. Retested the same as item 3 above within this software. Same results.
    5. Disconnected the external I/O hub (since I am connecting to the Audio Control Pod, which connects to the speaker system and then my sound card). Interestingly, the Line-In /Mic input disappeared. All that I saw for an input (I believe) was Auxiliary. I tried even that as noted in item 3, but nothing.
Has anyone had any luck in getting a mic from a headphone set to work with the Audio Control Pod for the Inspire T7700 speaker system along with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Read the FAQ on top of the soundcard forum concerning SPDIF and digital out. The reason is very easy to find out if you read that. In short: the digital out can only send out a PCM stereo signal (which is why you only get FL/FR sound) and an encoded AC-3 signal.

  • Problems with SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and autoexec.nt and running games. HE

Hey, this is my first post here so Hello all!
Just wondering if anyone can help me.
Ever since i've installed my SB Audigy 2 zs platinum pro soundcard the following error has occurred whenever I attempt to play a dos-based game:
    <location of game file>
c:\WINDOWS\System32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
I've looked for solutions but I've only found things relating to old old soundblaster cards etc and not an audigy 2. One solution was to copy the autoexec.nt file from the windows\repair folder into the system32 folder. It tried it and yes it worked for the games, but I then had no soundcard and had to move the file back, uninstall and reinstall my audigy 2 all over again. The games still bring up this error. The error also occurred when I tried running Band in a Box .
    So I'm really stuck.
    Thanks for any help.

In that case, have you try updating the latest BIOS, chipset driver, USB driver(if any) from your mainboard website.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Gigaworks speakers

Greetings All. I was just wondering how the card and speakers connect. Does the optical on the breakout box get used or do you use the plugs on the actual card?
    Also
What functions and imputs etc. does the gigaworks speakers have? Do they have an optical imput etc? A basic description would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I have lost the install disc that came with the card so now I need to find some other way to get all the programs. I have tried the THX Console update file but that just spits out an error saying cannot find relati've components.
So does anyone know where I can get this program or anything that will do it'ss job because I really need to configure my 7. system as you can notice the difference when 7. is not properly configured in movies and games.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500

    Hi!
Why can't i connect this digital speaker system to the external connection box of the Audigy 2 ZS? I've tried the optical as well as the coax-connection. When i run the surround soundtest in the Creative software it only gives me stereo sound in front left and right speaker.
It only works when i connect the speakers by analog connection directly to the soundcard, but then the volume settings for WAVE-sound in the Creative control panel has to be reduced to almost nothing if i wish to keep my ears.
If these speakers are'nt supposed to use digital connection....then WHY CALL THEM DIGITAL?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro Issues 4-pin power connec

Okay, here's what I've experienced with my card. ) Static across all speakers?- this seems to be caused by the 4-pin power connector, it seems that mine is about burn out. Also, this little connector is a BIG pain in the rear to unplug, so I'm thinking it could me a lot of my trouble. 2) Disassociation with hardware and software?- the last time software dsassociation occured I fixed it with a complete uninstall/reinstall of the software, only took me 3 hours ><. The hardware, however is another story. I never could get the remote to work again, heck I couldn't even get an option to allow the remote to work. The 'box' also likes to disconnect, again this is because of that 4-pin power connector. Last night, after being completely annoyed with the static and having no luck with ending it by 'jiggling' the power connector I said to heck with it. I pulled it all out and unistalled everything. So, my big question here is, where could I find a 4-pin connector that isn't /2 cooked to see if I'll experience the same problems or not with my card. My onboard audio is ok, but I like the power of my Audigy. Any thoughts?

    Thanks Jeremy,
I checked the connections and they are all fine. A consistent pattern is coming out now and I'm guessing that it is something I have done vs. bad equipment. My experince has been that when I send hardware back it was usually not the hardware that had the trouble.
I start the computer and the power light is dim, no CMSS, no remote. I do a reset default and reboot and the power light comes up. I do another reboot and the CMSS light comes up and I usually get the remote. I have to sometimes to a hard reboot next to get the head phones working. The whole time though, the speakers work fine. Then it all works fine. I can reboot etc and everything works fine. It is not until the next day that I have to do it all over again.
When I installed the card I disabled all of the software that comes up in the start menu (except for the remote control startup, I left it enabled). In doing that have I disabled something that I need in order to get this all to work right?
    Any help would be great.

  • Recording with the SB Audigy 2 zs plat PRO external is horribly low volume... setup probl

I have my guitar plugged into line /line 2 and whenever I enable recording, the sound that is recorded is incredibly low. I have to set my speaker and system volume to the max just to hear a little bit of sound(i have the 7. S750 creative speakers). I also experiance this with the mic i'm using. I'm using a cheaper professional Shure microphone and have it hooked up, via a XLR converter form radio shack, to my external SB hub. This mic requires no pre-amp and its turned on but the sound is also very low. I was wondering if this is normal, or if i'm missing some vital peace of information on how to record properly. Oh and also, I have the recording volume maxed in media source and on the external hub and I have also used the M-Audio: mobile pre usb, to record with the same guitar/microphone, and it sounded fine volume wise, what gives? my rate is 320 bits.

    OldPainless,
I'm hoping that means that you found the connector and all is working now? I know it happens around here more often than we would like to admit. Frequently swapping out hardware leads to forgotten things like this.
