Audigy 2 ZS - Quake 4 "Surround" option won't work - 7.1 Gigaworks Speakers / Ope

. In Doom 3 I can get the "Surround" option to work, and it sounds great! But in Q4, it wants to "Analyze audio system"" by itself and will not choose this option. If I try to choose this manually to "Yes", it changes back to "No" by itself after it "Analyzes audio system"
Any ideas?
2. Also, what is OpenAL and should I download the new beta driver to access this feature? Will it give me surround sound? Or should I just try to make option above work?

I am not familiar with Quake 4 so I cannot directly answer your first question...
As far as OpenAL goes: OpenAL is a 3D Sound API, exactly like DirectSound3D. It is however open-source and Creative is one of the pioneers. For OpenAL to work you need the following files in your System32 folder: openal32.dll, wrap_oal.dll and ct_oal.dll. All files are included in the latest beta version of the Audigy drivers. However it is recommended that you do a manual install of the drivers, to make sure these files get installed correctly. By that I mean you right click on the package, extact it, go to the "DRIVERS" subfolder and run Setup from there. There make sure the "Overwrite Creative shared blah blah" is selected!

Duplex Printing option won't work on ePrint Mobile Driver for P1102W?

I just set up my LaserJet P1102W for wireless printing, it's connected to my router so I don't have any problem in printing double side though my laptop as I can just use the printer like it's connected to my computer.
The problem is I am sharing the apartment with my friends and they all have their own router and own internet account, thus the only way for them to print though the printer will be either Google Cloud Print or ePrint. But when I install ePrint for them, the expected Duplex Printing option can't turn on, it simply won't allow me to select it. (as shown below)
I have done some search and all it comes up is some standardize answer that tells me to install ePrint Mobile Driver and the problem should be fixed, but this is the ePrint Mobile Driver, it still doesn't solve the issue, so please give me a solution, thanks a lot!

I understand that you are having problems with the ePrint Mobil Driver trying to print a duplexed job to your LaserJet P1102W.
Can you tell me, when you print double sided, are having to flip the pages manually or does the printer does this automatically for you?
The HP ePrint Mobile Driver supports printing on both sides through ePrint if the device itself supports printing on both sides automatically... i.e. the printer does the flipping of the page automatically (auto duplexing). If the device does not support auto duplexing, then the eprint mobile driver will gray the "Print on Both Sides" feature out, indicating that the device does not support auto duplexing.

"podcast" media type in options won't work on MP3s in iTunes 11

Why won't "podcast" MEDIA TYPE selection in OPTIONS work with mp3s anymore in iTunes 11? Trying to save some of my mp3s from a class as podcasts. I do this so I can run them at 1.5x speed and get through them faster. The option to change media type to PODCAST, when selected, doesn't stay selected. It keeps defaulting back to MUSIC. This just started with the new iTunes.

Quick DVD Option won't work?

I went into my iDVD 08 and was going to do the quick DVD option, you know, where you just record direct onto a DVD.
Well when I clicked on the button in the opening screen something odd happens...
The window closes and then if you watch the icon in the dashboard it sorta flashes and then shuts down. Not so much a miserable problem but still one that I would like to fix and handle.
So I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem and if so what can one do?

This frequently helps solve some problems. Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
You'll need to reset some Preferences.

Besides not printing, the OK button on my Tools settings no longer works. That just started, too.

The print button, control p or any other way to get to the print screen do not work. There is no response. I can print from sites like MapQuest that have their own print button.

E61i options button wont work in contactsfield etc...

Since this week my e61i has some problems in different applications with the options button or some other buttons. It is always the left, blue lined, button. For example: i can't send directly message from the contactlist to a contact because the "make message"button, won't work. In menu "pictures", the button options won't work.
Does someone have a clue to solve this?

Problems with the various functions seem to appear from time to time, but the first thing you must do is to get the firmware upgraded. Mine has been using 2.0633.65.01 for at least 6 months now, so it should be out worldwide, unless your telco doen't allow it for some reason (not very likely).
When E61i' play up, the only thing that works really well seems to be to reset the phone. BEFORE you do this, though, make sure you back up everything from your phone, either to a MiniSD card or to a PC with PCSuite.

Subwoofer won't work in 7.1 surround with Audig

I've got a surround sound system for my new Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 4 (not the pro version), and I have it all correctly setup but for some reason the subwoofer won't work. I have it set to 7. surround and as it is now everything is plugged in the correct place and all powered on and I know this for a fact because I've checked it, checked it again and rechecked it against the specifications for the Audigy 4 in the user guide and in the knwloedge base on the sb wbsite. The subwoofer does actually work too, so it hasn't broken or anything. I plugged it into the front speaker plug and it boomed away like it should do.
Everything else works as it should, the front left/right speakers, the front speaker, the rear speakers and the side speakers, just not the woofer. Does anyone have any ideas why not? I have the latest drivers installed and I cannot find anything in the Creative Audio Console or anywhere else sound related for that matter to fix the issue (unless I'm overlooking something, which I figured I must be?). I'd appreciate any help at all as I'm pretty much stuck, and with no bass playing surround sound just isn't the same.

Oh! I know what's happened now. I think. When you said there's supposed to be a setting for bass redirection it got me wondering... Then I realised what must have happened. I didn't install anything from the CD that came with the sound card. I instead opted to just download and install the latest drivers from the soundblaster.com website. As such (now that I look at the CD) there's a lot here I probably need which didn't get installed with those drivers.

(Note: You will generally only see the arrangement option in Displays when you are configured to use the external display in Extended Desktop mode; there is no arrangement in Mirroring as both screens are showing the same image.)

BUG - Indexing Options keep pointing to D drive rather than the C drive - search charm won't work

So I noticed that the search in my Windows 8.1 simply won't work to find files and settings. Then I went to Indexing Options in the Control Panel and I noticed that one of the locations Indexing was trying to point to is:
D:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\ (Unavailable)
This is odd since this is not the location of the Start Menu (which is in the C drive, not the D drive).
So I went on to remove this location and manually add the location of the Start Menu in the C drive (i.e. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\).
To my surprise, adding the location in the C drive is actually listed as the D drive -- not the C drive. In Fact any directory I try to add to the Index located in the C drive is in fact listed as being in the D drive!
I'm at a loss here, and in fairness I reckon this is a bug.
Have anyone here ever experienced this? Is there any workaround?
EDIT: While the search does not work. It seems like the Windows Explorer search works without any issues.
Also I reckon it is worth mentioning that I change the location of my search index to the D drive. This is because my C drive is a Solid State Drive, while my D drive is a traditional Hard Drive.

I made a test in my fresh building Windows 8.1. Create a new drive and a new folder in it. After that, add the folder into Windows Index Location. When I delete the folder, its shows up as the screenshot below:
As you can see, it's same with yours, If I choose uncheck the Index folder and reopen Windows Index Location, it would be dispare from this panel.
While for your problem, actually, move the index location is no difference to your Windows search, it just change search file location.
To identify if this is a disk drive problem, you can opt to use Diskpart command to check your drive letter if it was correct.
Open Command Prompt with admin, then type diskpart.
Afer that, type list volume, check current disk label.

Your profile claims Apple TV 2. 1080p is only available withe the Apple TV 3. Apple TV 2 is maxed out at 720p.

Options won't twirl down...

In the effects panel, my options won't twirl down. The triangle moves to the down pointing position but the options aren't showing. it was working a few minutes ago and I can't see anything that I might have done to stop it working ! Does anyone know what's wrong here ? Interestingly, the presets do twirl down but not the other 4. I was thinking of just restarting the program but wanted to know what had caused this...
