Audigy 2 ZS - Stereo Sound Only When Testing Speaker Setti

I am running Windows XP SP2 and have a Logitech Z-5500 hooked up through a co-ax connection. I had?no sound problems until I?ran Creative Auto Update and updated the recommended software (Creative Media Source Player 5.0.38 and driver version 5.2.4.96) yesterday. While I am still able to hear?5. channel DVD's through all my speakers, when I run the Creative Speaker settings software, I only hear sound from my front left and right speakers.
I only get sound through the centre channel when watching TV, which?echoes. ?I tried running system restore to get back to my previous drivers, but the system was unable to restore itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to add, all of my speakers are in working order, I have individually tested them. I have set my 7.1 system up before in my old apartment, it's just not working this time. Thanks again.

When i open a stream or a video i have sound on the right speaker only,
i have no sound problem with any other program thought.
the Problem was initially recognized by me on the 14th of August 2012
no big chances to my system where on that day or the day before.
i tested 2 divieses ( headset and speakers) => same problem
i check my drivers
reinstalled them
updated flash player today (8/16/2012) problem still there
check for wierd processes (2x flash player plugin pocesses as it should be)
restared the pc
can someone tell me what is wrong?

Could you give our 11.4 beta a try to see if this continues to happen? This should be fixed, for at least Logitech headphone devices.

Sound only in One speaker

Got a new computer with VIA KT333 KT3 Ultra series and loaded on Windows 2000 professional. Everything works fine except can only get sound out of one speaker. Tried re-installing the audio driver. Tried all speaker configurations in control panel under multimedial. Tried three different sets of speakers. No warning in the system devices in control panel. Thinking the MB may be bad.

A couple of generic things you could try, but might not apply to your specific mobo.
First, make sure that the plug is fully plugged in to the socket. Those 3.5mm plugs don't leave a lot of room for error, and sometimes a combination of the plastic on the plug and the metalwork surrounding the socket will prevent the plug from going in all the way. This is more likely to affect the right channel. (I assume that in trying 3 sets of speakers, there wasn't a common faulty lead involved).
The second thing to look at depends on your computer setup. Many (but not all) MSI mobos have a 10 pin header called (for example) Front Panel Audio Connector: JAUD1. This lets you connect to an Audio Out socket on the front panel, as an alternative to the rear panel outlet. The audio outputs connect first to the the front panel (green) socket, with a return circuit for each channel which is automatically disconnected when you put a plug into that socket. So the audio out signals travel in lovely unshielded cable from the mobo to the front panel and back, before going to the back panel. If you don't have a front panel socket (and cable to suit), then you have to put a couple of jumpers across (for example) pins 5 & 6, and 9 & 10. If one of these jumpers is missing, you will only get one channel out. You could also lose a channel if there is a fault in the cable taking the signal from the mobo to the front panel, or the return cable, or in the switch contacts of the front panel socket (or in the rear panel socket contacts, for that matter).
So, if you have a front panel audio out - try that and see if you get both channels. Also, check the wiring from JAUD1 to the front panel. You could also try removing the cable from JAUD1 and installing a couple of jumpers instead (check the mobo manual). If you don't have a front panel audio out, check that the 2 jumpers are on JAUD1. You could even try cross connecting the JAUD1 pins (5 to 10 and 9 to 6) and seeing if the missing channel changes or not.
Also, try a few different audio sources (CD playback, playing .WAV or MIDI files, using Line Input - and check the advanced options in the Audio Mixer controls to make sure the Balance controls are centred.

Sound works when testing, but not when uploaded

I used the Behaviors pallet to stream my mp3 files, and it
works fine when tested locally, but as soon as I upload everything
and test it online, nothing plays. The site is

IPad3 stopped some sounds only when muted

For some reason, my new iPad stopped working for sounds only on some video playback, others work. alarm app doesn't work. This is with sounds muted, which is how I have always used. This is a recent change. Some video will start with a blurb of sound, then go quiet

Why is the Sound Muffled when testing movie?

I have some areas in my app where the sound is muffled when I test the movie. However, when I played back in the development environment it sounds normal.
All of the files are mp3.
Do anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your response, but I don't think that's the case; the jack fits all the way in the female jack on the phone and clicks when it's fully inserted.
As I said above I originally thought it was just a crappy quality audio cable (it only cost £5) and just accepted it. But last weekend my friend was at my house and wanted to show me a song on his iphone 4, I warned him that the quality through the cable was terrible but said he could show me anyway. We plugged the minijack into his phone and to my surpise it sounded great!
Is there a physical difference between the jacks on the iphone 4 and iphone 5 and could that be the cause??

Sound disappears when changing speaker config

Hello all, I currently have a bit of an annoying issue when using my x-fi titanium card in vista 64 bit.
When I goto change my speaker config from headphones to 5.1 or vice versa, the sound from the running apps disappears
and I have to restart the applications for sound to come back. For example I am playing a song in winamp, i change speaker config
from 5.1 to headphones, sound gone, close winamp and reopen sound is back. Same thing goes for my games.
Any possible solutions to this thanks.

The only thing I don't like about the iPhone headset solution is that the earplugs are uncomfortable, and keep falling out. I basically don't like things stuck in my ear. So I am thinking of buying an actual over-the-ears headset to plug in to the headset port.
A couple of questions:
- Is there any reason at all to go USB headset instead? It seems like a waste of a USB port since there is a headset jack.
- Is there any way of switching the output sound back to the speakers while the headset is plugged in? Or do I have to physically unplug it each time it is not in use for a Skype call (which is the only time I would use it)?

Headphone sound only when changing level or balance

Hi,
I have a weird problem with my Logitech B530 USB headset.
I have configured it as the main input and output device in system settings, but I only hear sounds when changing sound level or balance. So if I e.g. start some music in iTunes I hear nothing, if I then increase/decrease the volume I hear the song, but the sound quickly fades away and there is no sound again. The same thing happens if I change the device balance.
Has anyone experienced anything similar and/or have any idea how to fix this?

= Yes it came pre-installed,? it's an x-fi xtreme music, is there any other way to find the exact model? Im pretty sure my card is upside down so It would? be impossible to read the serial number which is on the bottom. Audigy 2 ZS sound crackles when accessing hard dr

I hve been having problems recently with my audigy 2 zs. Whenever anything accesses my hard dri've I seem to get an awful crackling over my speakers (i do not know whether this is the problem but thats it seems to be the worst), which are the creative inspire 600, as far as i remember. This does not happen when playing DVDs or mp3 files stored on my hard dri've through WMP0 or PowerDVD. I have tried searching the forums and have not found an answer yet. I have also searched the KnowledgeBase and all of their solutions do not seem to work. It is rellystarting t bug me now. Ialso cannot get EAX to work through Call of Dty 2 anyore, i get an error messagesaying it needs debuging.
Also when i try to ue my microphone, i hear a crackling sound and I cannot get it to work. it is a new microphone that works fine on my mates computer, so i am guessing it must be something to do with my sound card. I have all the latest drivers from the creative website, but i still cannot seem to get my sound card to stop crackling!
Can anyone please help?

First I thought when installing those JMicron newest drivers that this issue is corrected but I was wrong. I can't connect anymore this to anything like before it was "clearly" hard dri've access related like it was. Now when I was surfing with Internet explorer it started to freeze again.. Goosh. I could use that integrated sound circuit or software cause at least it works but it's so crappy that I can't stand the sound quality on it. Perhaps I'm barking on wrong forum and I should be telling this to MSI support rather than here. Anyways, any suggestions are greatly appreaciated.

Incessant clicking sound, only through internal speaker

My powerbook is making an incessant clicking sound from (or near) the left speaker that turns off when I plug in an external speaker. I've searched the archives and found that Tiger was supposed to fix this ages ago, but I'm on OS 10.4.11. What do I do?

May I ask what you use as a work around?
I just noticed that if I change my system preferences to digital out - the internal speaker no longer functions with FCEHD - so now I am thinking that I can run a optical to the input of my M-Audio box and monitor it that way - or it may even feed back into the USB speakers. I feel stupid having to rig up a $4,000 computer system...

Sound only when "Solo'ed)

Hey. I'm finding GB very frustrating. I've been doing this for years w/Cakewalk but...anyway...I have many questions but the immediate frustration is: NO sound in my project unless I "SOLO" every track. I got very nervous & tried another song (project) and that one worked!! Any solutions? The next question will be "Can't you "mixdown" 2 or more tracks to 1? You must be able to....and that goes along with "Can't you layer recordings on a single track? instead of replacing what's already there? I'll settle for an answer to my 1st question. that is the only way I've seen this issue manifest itself. i would try creating several real and software tracks, and toggling the solo buttons, just for kicks.
also, though it does not fit what you have described, try toggling the Ducking menuItem

Notification sounds only when I get email from address book contacts

I am getting constant sound notifications whenever I get email but very few emails really require instant attention. I do not want to hear a sound when I get an email, except when the sender is one of my contacts. What settings do I need to make this happen? Thanks.

Sound only when Importing QT

Hi there,
I have tried to import a QT clip that was done with FCP7, it opens and plays fine on my desktop but when I import it either via import or by dropping into FCPX, I end up with just the sound, Can anyone assist me please.

What codec is it? There is an issue with oder QT files from legacy which were created in the QT framework, as opposed to FCP X which now creates/uses them with the AV Framwork.
Use QT Player or Compressor to transcode to ProRes 422.

Sound only works on speaker

The sound on my iphone only works on speakerphone or headphones - other than that I can't hear callers (though they can hear me). Have tried turning it on and off but that doesn't help. Any ideas?

No stereo sound from I/O

Hey all! I have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card, and for some reason I cannot get any stereo sound (only mono) from the I/O hub, both through the headphone out, as well as through the headphone out on a MIDI controller plugged into the hub via firewire.
5. Surround Sound works in all 5 speakers connected through the analog miniplugs on the card, and stereo sound works through the headphones when they are plugged directly into the speakers via a headphone out there.
