Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor - customise the rm-1500 remot

I have the RM-500 remote working with the audigy 2 zs video editor box.
I realise that I can customise the functions of the remote to a degree using the creative 'Remote Control & OSD Settings' software, but is there a way I can completely customise the button functions to run my own commands / programs?
There is a freeware thing called IntelliRemote which is designed to do just this, but unfortunately it only works with the internal audigy 5.5" blanking plate remote sensors - not ones connected through USB like the video editor box.
Is there any way to completely customise the rm-500 functions without using the creative software?
Thanks
Ben

Anyone know whether this is possible?
I'd love to be able to re-write the functionality of the supplied remote control.
Any chance of you guys at Creative releasing a small app which anyone could use to trigger a custom command on any remote control action?
Thanks
Ben

  • Vista Drivers for the Audigy 2ZS Video Editor

OK, so I know I'm only one of 20 people in the world who were ever stupid enough to buy one; but I am disappointed to see that there is so far no Vista beta driver support for the device.
Are there plans to ever support it under Vista?
As half of the internals are an Audigy 2ZS sound card for which Creative are developing Vista drivers, the job is surely half done? Modifying the existing USB video capture driver surely can't be too difficult?
Must say, that if this device is ignored under Vista, it will be the last Creative product I ever buy .....
    Nigel

I wish someone from Creative would give a definiti've answer to this question.
I've had the Video Editor for about a year so it's hardly old technology, and Vista was in development last Summer. The Audigy ZS sound drivers are being developed for Vista, how diffcult can it be to get the Video drivers modified to run under Vista?

  • Audigy 2 Video Editor - Inspire 5.1 Digital 5

How could I have sound with my Inspire 5. Digital 5700 with the digital DIN connector using a Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Card ?
I have sound on 2 channels with the optical and/or coaxial cables, but I want to have the 5 channels thrue the DIN cable. Where must I put the connectors and how must I configure the parameters in my computer ?
I have the DIN-DIN connector and the DIN-Jack adaptator.
Thank you in advance for you answer.
    Malou.

    Daedalus3,
I know I've addressed this one before ... I have never heard of any Audigy soundcard, including Video Editor, taking a 5. compressed signal into the S/PDIF and recording it as a *.ac3 (for example). I do not know of commercial audio software apps that support this and anyway there would be an outcry from the RIAA because such a facility would remove all "roadbumps" to jacking commercial surround recordings at full resolution.
You can record a stereo uncompressed stream from the SPDIF (e.g. the output of a DAT player or of various other consumer audio devices).

  • Why isn't there any complete video editor in the N...

Hi!   Got a bit disappointed in my N86 when i discovered the very very poor "video editor", in which you can put in a sound, text either in the beginning or in the end, and stitch together videos.  I find this very poor compared to my N95 video editor, where i could decide to put the text and sound where the hell i wanted, and have different transitions between em'.
So Nokia, where the **bleep** it my fully complete video editor!??!  **bleep**, it couldnt be to hard to put it in, could it?
If you know why they decided to ignore a video editor on a 8MP camera phone, that worked fine on a few years old cell, please tell me!

The N86 seems to be the only current Nokia which has the video editor. It's been a rarity since the N95 8GB. Presumably it's in for a wholesale re-write or something.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

  • Creative audigy 2 zs video editor probl

please help how could u adjust the frame size and the video bit rate of audigy 2 video editor before capturing
it seems that the video bit rate and frame size remains fixed cannot adjusted
why is it audigy 2 ve is recognized as unknown msdv at the source of ulead video studio?
    please help
    regards
    dan

Thank you for the reply split0,
as for the informati've post, thank you for the compliment, i tend to not open a thread at all unless i have spent enough time on the problem and searched around enough for solutions, and after that i only post if it has enough info regarding everything in inside the thread.
In regard to the known incompatibility list, unfortunatly this is one of the things i checked beforehand already.
The PCMCIA adapter in my laptop is a Texas Instruments PCI-8x2/7x2/6x2 CardBus-controller.
Which is one of the most common controllers and should normally not cause any troubles at all, also in another thread on this forum i found a differant driver for it, i even tried that with no result sadly.
At the moment personally i am thinking the whole problem lies within not being able to uninstall the onboard sound card to full extent somehow, and while i posted here i also have all this info in a direct message sent to creative, and even acer for that matter.
In hopes of some kind of solution for this so i can keep my hopes up for not having to return the card itself.
What bugs me is that there is option at all to disable the onboard sound through the bios.
Because right now whenever i install the ZS notebook card it checks hardware for the onboard first installing it again, then setting priority for the zs notebook.
This is what seems to result in the crashes through a conflict in drivers in my idea, but thats just a hunch which i cant do anything about currently in regard to testing unless someone has an idea for me to try.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor & Vista Business installation iss

So this is my letter to?Creative who have yet to respond, does anyone have a similar set up to me who can shed some light on this issue and fixing it. Having no sound and not being able to listen to itunes is not a good thing.
    To Engineers,
Firstly id like to say I?m very disappointed in purchasing this $400 AUS SB Audigy 2 after looking on your website and seeing the Microsoft vista logo plastered everywhere thinking this device would be compatible, quite clearly it is not as I have installed/uninstalled drivers and disks..only to find that it is pointless..
So here I am about to explain my situation in order for you guys to find me a suitable driver ASAP.
I currently have a HP M777A running on Microsoft Vista Business with 3.06GHz and 2x GB Kingston Memory..
In my office I have a 5. speaker surround which sits with my 9?LCD which I like to listen to music from and watch DVD?s.
In my lounge room I have a 42? LG Plasma Display which also runs with my Denon AV4306 Recei'ver which also have a 5x speakers surround.
Prior to Vista, I was able to watch DVD?s or listen to music through iTunes which was being powered through my PC, I was able to do this simultaneously in both rooms. This is what I need to achieve again very soon.
After scouring dozens of websites and reading this products pitch lines which states that this virtually anything can be played through it, well this is why I bought it.. But I?m very disappointed.
My question to you guys is this.
. Is there a driver or something I can load up to fix my problem
    2. ?If NOT, then how long will it take to be released.
    3. ?If so, how do I find out about it when it is released.
    4. Etc etc.
Please advise ASAP with a solution I can work with.

Copied from the Video forum - (related to video operation under Vista)
I have used the follwoing procedure to install a working configuration of the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor in a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
() Download from Creative Labs (US) site: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ the following files:
    (a) Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver .00.0060 - USBVS_PCDRV_LB__00_0060.exe (from the Vista section)
    (b) VidCap for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor .00.000 - A2VX_PCVDE_L9__00_000.exe (from the WinXP section)
    (2) Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the file (b) and extract the folders \DrvInst and \Vidcap into your Vista Downloads folder.
    (3) Connect the Video Editor to the power supply and a video source; connect the USB cable to your PC. Ignore the "Found NEw Hardware" dialog that pops up.
    (4) Doubleclick on file (a) to install the Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver, and follow prompts as required; accept all defaults. After install is complete, let the PC reboot.
    (5) After rebooting, in the "Found New Hardware" dialog that appears, select the options to search for a driver, don't go online to search, browse for a driver and point the search at the \DrvInst folder you extracted in (2) above. The USB video driver will be installed from the \DrvInst\Video\Driver\Win2k.
    (6) After the video driver is installed, doubleclick on the Setup.exe file in the \Vidcap folder you extracted in (2) above to install the Vidcap application.
    (7) Setup the options in Vidcap, and run a test recording.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor -5.1 input via SPD

<IMG height= alt="" src="http://forums.creative.com/i/p.gif" width= border=0>Ok, I'm a little frustrated now but I'm sure and hope this is my fault and not the one of the device. I bought an Audigy 2 NX which isn't able to capture and encode 5. audio streams. Now I bought the Audigy 2 Video Editior and it doesn't seem to capture 5. either. I have a digital cable receiver connected to the SPDIF input of Audigy and have the receiver set to play a 5. Dolby Digital stream. However, all Audigy 2 does is playing a crackling sound. All encoders at the Device Management are enabled. Doesn't the Audigy 2 Video Editor support 5. input streams?
