Audigy 2 ZS - Vista Probl

Ever since installing Vista my sound has been a total mess. Anything that uses audio for a prolonged period of time works perfectly until it reaches around minute or so. After that point, the sound starts to garble as if it were underwater. After about 30 seconds of that it just cuts out the sound completely with no error or anything. I wil lrandomly get high pitched squeeks and that is it. If I close the program (music player, movie player, avi player, game, whatever) and then restart it, everythign is fine; at least for a minute or so. Is anyone else having this problem?I tried installing the beta drivers but they just made my card completely unreadable so I had to roll back.

I'm having problems even installing the beta drivers, every time i try:
"You have previously installed drivers without rebooting.
Please reboot and try again."
I reboot try again, same thing. I've uninstalled all other sound drivers, (realtek on my mother board etc), no use.
As a last resort I went through the registry, deleted everything i could find to do with audio drivers/creative/sound/drivers etc... Nothing
What's going on? I was using a beta version of vista, with the SBAX_PCDVTBETA and everything was fine - I upgrade to the "finished" vista, and can't even play music, and forget games, I'm having so many conflicts that some of my games won't even start. I reboot into my beta version, same problem, I try reinstalling my beta, and reinstalling my sound card, nothing. I even pulled out the Audigy 2 from my other PC - that won't work either! I've even reinstalled my "finished" vista ultimate, and tried to install the SBAX_PCDVTBETA before doing anything else... NOTHING!!!! What the F**K's going on? Microsoft's fault or creative?"
sorry for the rant, but if anybody has had the same problem and fixed it - PLEASE HELP!!! I'M GOING NUTS WITHOUT MY TUNES AND GAMES!!!
FIXED IT...
Finally... had to go into my registry, and delete everything i could find to do with my sound card (use regedit, find "creative" "sound blaster" "audigy" and delete every entry that you can - there was 2 or 3 that couldn't be deleted - don't worry about these)
I also had to update my graphics card drivers (nvidia's latest vista beta drivers), then i installed the SBAX'vista beta drivers, everything seems to be working, apart from EAX, but I can li've without that for now..Message Edited by funkmunky on 03-08-200702:24 PM

btw, daniel_k was only helping people, by providing drivers and software YOU couldn`t, or you just didn`t wanted to. stop deleting his posts or links to the drivers made by him.
just stop that abbusi've marketing strategy, by not releasing software for older sound cards, and forcing customers to buy your new products. no, that wouldn`t happend.

creative are force all us to change to x-fire, i cant belei've creative cant make software for audigy when vista is about year old.
Creative just lies to us. (as alchemy that supose to by only for x-fire)
PD: i have audigy2 SZ and i wont change to x-fire or another creative product, this is simply the last creative product for me

& What did you especially fix or add? I have surfed all around in gameheaven forums and other places but the only thing you wrote is" better performance, better exelaration etc" . I dont think it is enough , you HAVE TO tell which software modules you added or what you have tweaked.

Vista 64 - Audigy 4 Microphone probl

I have make some search here but don't found an answer for my problem. Perhaps there is no real answer...
So my problem is my microphone make weird noise when I recorded my self with the recorded tool of Vista.
My specs are :
Vista 64
4 GB
SB Audigy 4 Pro.
I deactivate my onboard audio card in the BIOS.
I deactivate all other inputs than my mic line/microphone.
I change with the two last drivers for Vista 64.
Nothing...
I precise, no problem with my Windows XP or Ubuntu partitions.
Any help possible?

Sound Blaster Audigy SE on Vista (Proble

Alright, I recieved my Audigy SE, installed it into an empty PCI Slot, booted up my PC, Put in the DriverCD, Installed, and it worked fine. Then the AutoUpdate popped up, and It said I needed to update to a Vista Driver, and MediaSource 5 Update. I do so, then in the middle of the installation it tells me "Please Insert the CD that has the login.bin file" Im not sure if it says login.bin file or what it says but it says insert a CD. I try inserting my normal Driver CD that came with the SE, and it doesn't work so I have to quit. On the Box it says "Works With Windows Vista", and apparently that's not the case because many people are having problems with this. This is what makes me so mad. But can anyone help me with this problem?

It would be advisable to uninstall everything and reinstall using the latest driver from the website. Please check if you have this driver. You might want to consider getting a newer sound card instead because the Audigy SE is a very old product and software support for Windows 7 is pretty much limited.

Hello everyone, I just acquired a new desktop with windows vista home premium (32bit) installed on it and I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card(from my previous computer) that I installed on it as well as a Creative 7. (Inspire P7800) set of speakers. I downloaded the latest vista driver for the Audigy 2 ZS from the Creative website and I managed to install it and have the audio console work. However, my 2 rear speakers and my subwoofer would not work (no sound) when I run the sound test using the audio console. The speakers were configured as 7.. Could anyone help me with that or give me some advices on what I could do to have my 7. system work properly with vista thanks a lot,JM

Audigy and vista build 5

hello,
i have a Audigy sound card and using Vista build 5308.
i was wondering if there is any solution for the BSOD that appears when restarting/shutdown the pc. am i the only one with this error ? i realise these drivers were released for beta but still...
also, 5. sound is not working. after setting from control panel to 5. sound, only the front, center speakers and the subwoofer works.
when setting 5. speakers, wmp crashes too.

Hello Deadly,?Go and get ALchemy and install it. then go into the program folder (of ALchemy) and copy the dsound.dll and dsound.ini to your Executable folder. Which should be something like C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/(account name)/hl2.
Then modify the INI file and put the duratino to 5 and that should fix your problem.
Tried it on my CSS (not in game but rather the TEST YOUR SPEAKER button) and everything is back to normal after this.

Audigy SE + Vista Iss

I just bought a new Audigy SE because my old Li've and integrated sound weren't well supported in Vista. However, I'm still having issues.
Things seem to work okay on the desktop with the latest drivers, but I've tried playing Bioshock and Crysis and both have issues. Crysis stutters and pauses every few seconds, while Bioshock has a lot of crackles and pops.
Disabling the sound card fixes the stuttering in Crysis. Both games work fine in XP.
What gives? How can I fix this?

I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

Audigy LS / Vista.. How to get music from surround speake

Does anyone know how I can get my music to play through all of my 5. speakers in windows vista? In XP i could use the creative CMSS stuff, but that doesnt work in xp..

First step, uninstall any software that is made by creative labs. It usually slips back to 2 speaker mode, ruining the product. (or does on the cards I've seen)?Second step, download and install kxmixer. I can highly recommend kxdrv3538-full.exe. My Audigy 2 never sounded better. The program is horribly skinned and a little buggy, but nowhere near as bad as the Creative stuff.You should get full functionality back, aside from EAX and perhaps SPDIF. Make sure you read the instructions, as some settings may need to be changed. Hope this hel

Try the above link, as this pack works really well for me and this card on a machine running Vista 32. The CD is absolutely useless.
This package worked great and has allowed a friend to play Left 4 Dead with absolutely no crashes or hangs that seem to be related to sound card issues.

What makes you think that. OpenAL works just fine on Audigy cards. Playing BF2 in vista sounds just the same as in XP on my A4.

Audigy Strange Power Probl

I have an audigy platinum and cant get the dri'vebay to work, so I took it out of my system to investigate and removed the cover from the optical output to check the power.
When I remove the data ribbon that connects the dri'vebay to the soundcard the dri'vebay powers up and the optical light comes on. When I remove the ribbon again, the power is lost and the light goes off!
Whats the problem here?
It isnt the cables, i've swapped them for others and my power supply is an adequate 550w.
Im using windows vista and the audigy drivers that come with the xfi, but have also tried the audigy release drivers.

In Control Panel, Sounds and Multimedia (or whatever it's called on your system), Audio tab, make sure your Audigy 2 ZS is selected as the preferred Playback, Recording, and Midi device. At the bottom of the Audio tab, check the box to "Use only preferred devices."

Let's see. The Audigy series isn't on of the latest soundcard series from creative. So of course there's not the same need for creative to release working drivers in time, or at all.

Well i can't find any logical reason for letting drivers expire, but maybe they wanted to assure that people don't use betadriver by mistake when there are final drivers available. Only problem with this explaination is, that there aren't new drivers for the audigy 2...

Yes, the beta-drivers aren't very good and now they expire. But since rc I never used the beta driver again, cause the newest XP driver was running just fine with nearly all features working in contrast to the beta drivers. Or you could use open source drivers like kxproject which run just fine under vista. Stormblade?
