Audigy 4 - Audio at bootup, after time no audio

Greetings everyone! My first post, so I hope to find a bit of help here. Anyway, I have a bit of a pickle with my Audigy 4 card, running on Win7.
After system boot, sound runs fine. After a while though, and this seems completely random, sound is gone. According to the volume mixer, audio is playing (since the green bar goes up and down) but there is no sound to be heared. Rebooting the system solves the problem, at least for a little while, until I am once again struck by the sound of silence.
Now I have upgraded the drivers, from the official Microsoft Drivers, Creative Drivers 2.6 and Drivers 2.8 (which are the latest) and this issue happens accross the board.
I have read about the SPIDF thingy, but having deactivated that, just does bugger all.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? This is my second Mobo, and the same issue has happened again. Running on WinXP is fine, so it appears that this is not a mobo or a snd card problem.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Also:
- Resetting the driver does not solve the issue
- Reinstalling drivers does not solve the issue
- System Restart seems to solve it for a little while, but its not a complete solution resetting the system at least once

- Deleting drivers and doing a clean install also does not solve the issue
- Reformatting and doing it on a clean install also does not solve the issue

Re: Audigy 4 - Audio at bootup, after time no audio)I have the same problem with Vista. I've had this problem for YEARS. The audio works fine when the system is booted up. However, after a while (it could be 2 hours or more), the audio tends to get interrupted or scratchy when viewing a web page with a lot of graphics, or when a video is buffering, or maybe when a file is downloading. After a while, the audio will stop altogether, and the computer won't be able to stream audio or video at that point. If I then right click on the speaker icon,? and go into Speaker Properties, and then go into Advanced and click on the Enable Audio Enhancements and Press Apply this causes the audio to be restored. I would, of course, have to?click on the checkbox a 2nd time and hit apply if I?want the original setting retained for that checkbox. Even after the?audio is restored, the audio still has a good chance of dropping out again at some point, and I would need to reboot in order to be in less danger of the audio dropping out.
Any idea what causes this? Thanks.

    I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

    In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
    Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

    ha. having the video is killer. there are a couple ways to do this. i'd recommend using the blade tool (tap b twice to get the one that cuts all tracks), make a cut through the audio and the video at the points where you want it sped up, then right click the clip itself (which should be linked with audio and video) and then just set it to whatever speed you want. it'll have the same effect. you might have to adjust boundaries or you can select ripple.
    alternatively, it looks like you just needed to do the same thing to the audio that you did to the video in that clip you uploaded. you can always relink things by selecting the audio and video and hitting cmnd+L.

  • Audio cuts out after 2 minutes

    I'm having a bizzare trouble with the Audio cutting out after 2 minutes while watching TV.  It comes back for exactly 2 minutes only after I change the chanel, and with every subsequent chanel change after.
    I have the Audio out on the @anywhere card connected to the line-in on my Audigy 2 sound card via a stero cable (which I've changed) and I've verrified that my sound card is ok by running other devices into the computer through the line-in.  
    I've also had alot of trouble with the MSIPVS software crashing and causing my system to hang.  I've only had the card and software for a short time and am still working out the bugs but any help will be appreciated.

    Did you look at the top of THIS forum? In the Announcements and Important threads? I know there is a sticky thread about sound cutting out, it may, or may not be related to the one problem you have.

    I just installed new Audigy 2 ZS PL, and found that not working:
    . DVD-audio player in "Mediasource Player" - as if I am trying to start the DVD-audio playing concerning Creative instructions ("insert disc and enjoy..."), both across icon
    "DVD-audio player". The using DVD-audio disc is original, from the Creative Audigy 2 ZS box(with audio samples), OS Win XP with SP &2, all previous audio hardware was deleted before 2 ZS installation, speakers Inspire T7700. Each time after attempt to load DVD-player I'm forcing to reload PC. Same time, DVD-movies was playing normally (with "Intervideo DVD Platinum" software), but after third attempt to load Creative "DVD-audio player" I had as result the crash of normal DVD-moving playing (only front and central speakers was working), and it repaired only after full deleting audio from system and repeatedly fullfilled Audigy installation). Can somebody explain, what is this - Creative software lags or PC hadware conflict ?
    2. From the first time I can't use the "diagnostics" function : after loading of this programm, I see at the end of dialog only "click start" , but "start" in dialog box is absent! Same problem I had also with my previous "Audigy LS".

    Few attempts more,nothing new, still not working. Do you know somebody anything about contain of the last creative update -could I hope on it to resolve problems?

  • Time stretch audio file to match tempo of track

    Hi everyone, I am a new user of Logic express, and have found the info on this site extremely helpful, in conjunction with SFlogicninja's tutorials on youtube.
    However, after watching a recent tutorial on Time stretching audio, i am now completely confused. Similar to the tutorial, i am trying to fit an audio region(an acapella track) to the tempo of the project. I have beat mapped the region to establish a tempo, but would like to experiment with slowing down or speeding up the track as a whole. As the acapella was created outside of Logic, i am bouncing the acapella track in order to be able to 'follow tempo'(as shown in the inspector). I have disabled the 'normalize' checkbox and bounced, but the bounced track still does not have the 'follow tempo' option in the inspector.
    Any ideas as to why my bounced files cannot follow tempo. I can do it with audio that i create in Logic, but if i import any files, i was under the impression that by bouncing it within Logic, i could still obtain the same results?
    I'm running out of hair to pull out!

    One is background music played when page opend, Other is effect audio that played when touch the object.
    i added this widget in ibooks author.
    In ibooks-author on mac, i can hear two sound well. but in ibooks on ipad i got the problem..
    When i touch the object and play effect sound, background audio is stopped.
    Moreover, after effect sound ended then bgm is not played.
    i hope to hear two sound at the same time on ibooks, if not, play bgm continue after effect audio over.

  • How to split video and extracted audio clip at same time?

    I imported 10 min of DV from my Sony HC96 camcorder to iMovie 6.
    I selected a video clip and split it using cmd-T but the extracted audio clip below it did not split. How can I split both the video and underlying audio clip so I can drag the edge of the new video clip for editing by direct trimming and keep the audio dialogue in sync. I have already gotten the clip volume levels right in the extracted audio.
    This seems pretty basic editing but I must be missing something.

    Thanks, Sue. Let me see that I have this right. I split the video then the audio. I then selected and trimmed the video to the remove the 10-15 seconds I wanted to remove. To keep the dialogue in sync with the speaker's lips, I then selected and trimmed the audio to the same time as I trimmed the video. Then I dragged the audio clip back up to the new start of the trimmed video clip. I did this and the dialogue and lips seem to be in sync.
    I guess originally I had looked for a solution where I cut both clips at the same time and trimming one trimmed the other. But now I see I just need to do them separately. Thanks for the help, Sue!

    You can't do both at the same time, but you can do
    them one right after the other. Highlight the audio
    and split it after you split the video and be sure to
    keep the playhead in the same position.

  • Why can't Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Time remap Audio and Video together?

    In case you didn't notice, my question is WHY.  I don't know why Premiere Pro can't do this.  From what I understand at the moment, the only way to time-remap audio in any way shape or form using Adobe software is through Adobe After Effects, which my computer has absolutely no chance of running ever.  I know how to do regular stretching of audio in both Audition and Premiere Pro, but apparently I can't time-remap audio using either of these programs.
    So why can't Adobe Premiere Pro time remap audio along with the video?  What's the reason that it can't?  It's a massive disappointment and would be very impressive to see accomplished in the future.  If it's possible to time remap audio and video together in After Effects, that's great and all, except for the fact that I can't use that program.  Why can't it be done in Premiere Pro and will it ever be possible in Premiere Pro?
    Also, will time remapping audio become possible in Audition someday?

    Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.

  • Audio performance deteriorating over time until Mavericks reinstall

    I'm on the latest Mavericks, maxed-out 12-core Mac Pro. I use Steinberg Nuendo as my main audio DAW. It works like a dream... for a while... But after a few weeks it starts slowing down until Nuendo is almost unusable. Larger projects which normally run just fine become unworkable or very sluggish because they just overload the CPU, as if I was working with a 5 year old computer. This issue specifically targets audio performance, whether I use internal audio or my audio interface (UAD Apollo).
    I've tried removing/uninstalling all non essential drivers, extensions etc, and reinstalled/updated everything I can't work without to the latest versions. I've tried unplugging everything except 1 monitor, keyboard, mouse and USB authorization sticks. Nothing makes a difference. It's like there's a virus that progressively slows down my system, but I have found no virus on my system, at least via MacKeeper.
    Here is my temporary solution: Every few weeks I reinstall Mavericks (right now 10.9.3) via the Apple online recovery system (Command-R on startup). The problem goes away completely and my Mac Pro is blazing fast again... For a few weeks, until audio performance deteriorates and I have to reinstall Mavericks again. Apple tech support originally advised me to reinstall Mavericks on top of itself, and I was really happy the problem was fixed, but I didn't know it would keep sneaking in over and over again.
    This is the third time I have to reinstall Mavericks via online Recovery, and I am still baffled as to what could possibly get worse over time in this manner, and also specifically target audio performance! It's like some sort of cache is getting filled-up somewhere and overloading some of the computer's functions over time. Whatever this is, it gets reset during a reinstall.
    If anyone has any ideas or hunches, they would be really appreciated!
    PS: I've posted the same issue in the "Mac Pro" section to make sure I get the most coverage. I don't expect too many answers since not too many people have the Mac Pro yet and this is a targeted inquiry.

  • 1080i60 video captured file  has 3-13 sec. time diffrence, audio and video

    capture from camera (mode HD 1080i60) to imac G5 1.8Ghz ( allocated disk space is 500G) for 4 hours audio and video has no longer syncronized, time differences are about 3 to maximum 13 second. this can be checked by quicktime, after captured.

    both system's FCP capture operation are closed 4 times by escape key for creating files, after created file. i again start for capturing the data. and no other application are initiated, except FCP

  • Audio Drops Out After 30 Seconds

    I have just installed Premiere Elements 12 on a new Toshiba with Intel i5 and windows 8. When I play a viedo through Elements the audio drops out after 30 seconds. When I play the same viedo through Windows audio does not drop out. I have an older HP with Intel i3 and Windows 7 running Premiere Elements 10 and I do not have any issues with the audio dropping out. This is the first time I have used this forum so I hopr I'm doing this properly. Thank you, Bob.

    With a slower machine like that, it's possible you haven't given the program time to fully conform the audio and video in your file.
    Clear the file from your Project Assets and re-add it to your project. Watch the progress along the bottom of the program and wait until it has completed its conforming before you start editing.
