Audigy 4: DLL Module Loader (DLLML.exe) problem at shutd
Hello,
I would like to get feedback and/or confirmation on the problem I am describing below from Creative and owners of Audigy 4 Pros that are running the latest Audigy 4 Pro updates in Windows XP SP2 and an nForce 4-based system. I am convinced the problem is a driver issue. I am not sure, though, if this is similar to the known conflict between Creative's Remote Control service and nVidia's RAID service.
For Creative, I am willing to try and test a newer build of a DLLML.exe file if any are available.
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
---------- 8< cut here ----------
Summary: There seems to be a problem with version .0.3.0 of the DLL Module Loader (DLLML.exe) file that is installed by one of the 3 available web updates for the Audigy 4 Pro. In particular, after these updates are installed, the Windows XP SP2 system generates the following error on every "Turn Off" and "Restart": Application popup: Audio Driver Emulator: DLLML.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x0ac42f" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program
The problem can be easily reproduced continuously.
Workaround: Replacing the file DLLML.exe version .0.3.0 with version .0.8.0 found in the Audigy 4 Pro CD seems to solve the problem. This file is installed in C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader. The DLLML.exe file seems to be loaded at Windows startup by a service (?) called "AudioDrvEmulator" which runs the line "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" - AudioDrvEmulator "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\Audio Emulator\AudDrvEm.dll". It li'ves in the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Notes:
- As of today, the updates available at Creative's web site are:
* Creative Smart Recorder Patch for Creative Sound Blaster PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS Notebook and Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro audio cards version 2.0.56 (2 Dec 04)
* Creative Audigy 4 Pro update version 3.00.55 (20 Dec 04)
* Creative MediaSource 3 web update version 3.0.6 for PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook and Sound Blaster Audigy 4 (29 Dec 04)
- The updates were applied from the oldest to the newest, one at a time, rebooting after each update was installed.
- The system is a freshly installed Windows XP SP2 (slipstream) w/all the latest WindowsUpdate updates. Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has been disabled in the "boot.ini" file to work around a known issue with the latest nVidia network driver available for the nForce 4 chipset.
- The system runs on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe w/003 BIOS, AMD Athlon 64 3500+, Mushkin 2GB PC3200 DDR 222 Black L2 Hi Perf LII V2, and Asus EAX800XT/PE/2DHTV/256. The system runs a Stripe RAID setup with a pair of WD Raptor HDs.
- The system is run at stock speeds (i.e. no overclocking) and all the drivers are the latest version available from each manufacturer (none are BETA).
Additional notes: The stock Audigy 4 Pro drivers have a known conflict with the "nvraidservice.exe"-based service when the Creative Entertainment Center's remote control service is run. Having these 2 services running at the same time would cause the "nvraidservice" to fail at Windows startup, and a few DCOM-related errors to be logged in the event logs. This issue with the nVidia RAID service stopped after applying the Audigy 4 Pro updates and disabling the remote control altogether in the Creative Entertainment Center control panel.
Yes, using the DLLML.exe from the CD should work as it does in my setup. Do a search using the Windows search tool, and it should find two identical instances of the file in the CD, one of them in a CAB file. You should be able to copy & paste either instance to your C: dri've's location as long as the DLLML.exe file is not already loaded/running in memory.
I had sent Creative's support an e-mail with exactly the same information, but unfortunately the first response I got from them was to do a cleansweep and install of the Creative software. I say "unfortunately" because Creative did not describe what are we trying to accomplish by "tainting" a fresh format/XP SP2 install with a massi've uninstall & reinstall of Creative software, even when I hoped narrowing the issue down to what seems to be a trivial EXE would have triggered some ideas as to what might be wrong with that particular version of the EXE file (i.e. it seems to be, after all, a DDL file loader, which does not seem to be driver engine code per se, but instead a DLL memory loader).
As I mentioned to them, this system simply has a fresh XP install, all OS updates, all peripheral drivers, and the Creative card and software was the last thing installed in the box. No tweaks other than DEP turned OFF, no overclocking, no extraneous services running in the background, not even any additional software. Installation of the software was done by the letter, with proper reboots.
I would appreciate if someone has an idea of what may be accomplished by a re-install of Creative software on a fresh OS install when the problem is squarely on the DLLML.exe file. You can be as specific as pinpointing DLL or registry entries that such a re-install is suppossed to fix (i.e. I am using the wrong files; a registry entry has the wrong value, etc.), and how this would have happened when following the installation steps as documented.
Thanks in advance.

How can i modify my modules loaded and daemons to lower some boot time.
And why is that bluetooth is still loaded even if it's !bluetooth? And is it possible to background ntfs-3g?
Thanks all for advices!Please clarify what you mean. If the bluetooth service is started, then there is a bug or something very very odd. IF on the contrary you mean that the bluetooth-related modules are loaded by udev, this is perfectly normal: udev autoloads modules according to your hardware, not to your services. You need to blacklist the loaded bluetooth-related kernel modules (check them with 'lsmod') and to blacklist them in the MODULES array.

**SOLUTION** DLLML.exe Fails to load at startup (application error)
Hello everyone!
I purchased the SB X-Fi Fatalty Champion Edition soon after release, and think this is the best card I have ever used to date. Absolutely love it, unbelievable sound.
Now a year or two ago I noticed a certain file failing to load when I started windows.
This file, DLLML.exe. To my understanding this file is used to load EAX emulation support into older games/modules (essential loads a "middle-man" file between the game's sound files/.dll's, and the hardware SPU [Sound Processing Unit, not a real acronym, but that's what I call it since GPU and CPU are similar distincti've acronyms so if you see it used anywhere, it came from me ] to allow EAX support in non-EAX enabled games), and/or to add EAX effects in your audio files using the Wave Studio app.
I've pinpointed this issue to either a Windows Update, or the Creative auto-update (which could mean it is an error caused by an installaion combination of multiple apps at once) because this issue did not arise until I did these two things (did Windows Update, then Creative Auto-Update, then restarted computer).
Now I've primarily had this issue with Windows XP x64 but I have had this issue at times with Windows XP x86 as well.
After you install the software suite, it adds an entry in your Windows Startup to load the module (Start/Run. msconfig. Startup tab. Look for STARTUP ITEM: DLLML). The entry looks like this:
WinXPx86 looks like: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
WinXPx64 looks like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
Under most circumstances this module loads fine, but because Creative, for reasons why I have not delved into, loads some of their DLL files differently than the Windows standard, which may also be a cause of this issue (extremely unlikely, I believe it is one of the 2 things i mentioned above).
Either way, after I did those 2 things, the DLLML.exe startup entry failed to load every time.
But I fixed it.
Now what you have to do to resolve this issue, involves editing the startup entry in the Windows Registry.
If you are scared to go into it, have no idea what I am talking about, or never edited the Registry before, don't worry. If you follow these steps EXACTLY, you have nothing to fear.
I will be using default installation parameters for file pathing, so if your Operating System is installed in a different dri've letter other than C:\, then just change the letter to the one your OS is installed onto.
Capitals used for emphesis on actions to take:
-Hit the START button, then select RUN
--------If RUN is not in your start menu, you need to enable it by right-clicking and open area of your TASKBAR, select PROPERTIES. --------Click the START MENU tab, then the CUSTOMIZE button. Click the ADVANCED tab. In the START MENU ITEMS box, scroll down to the entry that says SHOW RUN. Check the checkbox to fill it. Then OK/APPLY/OK, and you should be back to the desktop. Then go to START/RUN
-type the word REGEDIT
--------This opens the Windows Registry.
--------DO NOT change ANYTHING in this other than the exact directions I specify or you may corrupt your registry or even worse, corrupt your system, which means F&R time (Format & Reinstall). Treat it like a stripper. You can look all you want but don't touch or there could be dire consequences.
--------Now the fastest way to find this is to manually navigate to the specific "key" or "entry" you need to modify. Mouse-click the +'s to navitage further into the "hi've" following these maps:
-FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS NAVIGATE TO: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
-FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS NAVITAGE TO: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432\Microsoft\Wind ows\CurrentVersion\Run
--------Now you are looking for a specific entry NAME called RCSYSTEM. Depending on which version you are running. They are:
-FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
-FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
-------Now we are going to edit the entry. What we need to do is get rid of that * (asterix) character in the name. I don't know why it is there, I'm thinking it may be a coding error. But in my WinXPx64, this was the culprit.
-Double-click the RCSYSTEM key to edit it, and edit it so it looks EXACTLY LIKE THIS (If you're paranoid about doing something bad, COPY and PASTE this line pertaining to your installed OS. KEEP IN MIND THE INSTALLATION DRIVE LETTER, CHANGE FIRST LETTER IF NESCESSARY)
-FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem -Startup
-FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem -Startup
-click OK button. Now it is changed.
-------And we're DONE EDITING the Registry entry!
-now go to FILE in the top-left menu, then select EXIT
-RESTART your computer
-------You should not receive the "DLLML.exe failed to load" (application error) again!!
To check to see if it loaded into your system properly (as if not getting the error message anymore was proof enough it loaded properly), when you reboot back to the desktop, do the "three-fingered salute" (ctrl-alt-delete), then select the PROCESSES tab. Click on the IMAGE NAME heading to sort it alphabetically, and look for the name (WinXPx86) DLLML.exe or (WinXPx64) DLLML.exe *32.
If you see it listed, it loaded!! CONGRATS, IT BE FIXED!!
If this did not work for you, then your system is posessed, get a priest. I don't think a witchdoctor would give your comp good vibes O_o
Hope this resolved it for you. Enjoy your EAX with Duke Nukem 3d again!
EDIT: As a side note, I also noticed that since after this fix, my computer doesn't hang after sending the restart/shutdown killsignal, so I am wondering with people having similar hanging issues, if their issue could be resolved something similar to this.
Just a thought for any admins/mods/users out there that know what they are doing that maybe wanna test that out.
Sincerely,
Jason Ostapyk
3yr degree, MCP, CCNA, A+ certified, Specialised Electrician Class M LicensedG Kudos for a brilliant finding! After a Windows Hotfix on my XP SP3, when shutting down my PC I would wait for a program and then get an error that EAX was not responding before finally shutting down. On next reboot I lost sound on my PC. After running tests, the Direct Sound test failed pointing at EAX.
This solution cured the problem. Again, kudos, job really well done!!! -

This issue has been covered extensi'vely in this forum and I?m currently waiting to Creative Labs technical to give me ?some instructions on this issue but in the meantime I found this article about this issue which said this:
?
?Remote Control System DLL Module Loader. Task installed by the drivers for Creative Audigy Pro 4 and X?Fi range of sound cards. This startup task enables support for the Remote Control which comes with those sound cards.
?
Recommendation :
Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear !
?
Those of you who have followed our Task List pages since 2000, or those of you who have bought? The Ultimate Troubleshooter, will recall how once we came across a great quote on the web about the Creative Development Team ? here goes :Rumours that Creative?s driver team is composed entirely .... have not been confirmed !?.
?
Well, the rumours refuse to die away. Creative Labs unparalleledcreativity? and ability to produce either useless (in our opinion) or downright destabilizing background tasks down the years, continues unabated. DLLML.EXE is the latest incarnation. We?re in 2006, eight years on from Windows 98 and, still, we continue to get these occasional nightmares from Creative !
This task?s achievements :? 90% to 00% CPU utilization on some PCs, freezes, extreme slow-downs, incompatibilities with other devices, high memory usage, sound problems on X-Fi cards (!!!), shutdown or boot?up errors, inability to shut down, and the list simply goes on. Even the odd Creative tech will suggestKill that task!
when you call in desperation.
?
If you are lucky enough not to experience any of the above problems (some versions of the drivers are actually problem free ? also, the problems do not occur on all PCs), then do nothing.
?
If, on the other hand, you are one of the unlucky ones, then disable this task as follows :
?
a)? Disable it on the Startups? tab of TUT.
?
b)? Click the big green? APPLY? button to may your changes stick.
?
c)? Reboot your PC and check if the task stops coming up. If it does, then all is fine, otherwise make the disabling process more comprehensi've by first right?clicking on this task on the Tasks? tab of TUT and terminating it.
?
d)? Next, switch to the Startups? tab, right?click on this task and choose? Rename the file that this Startup points to. All you will be missing is the ability to use the Remote Control.
?
I honestly remove some of the comments about Creative Labs technical team due to fears that I would get banned from this forum before I even posted one thread ? laughed out loud.
If anybody from Creative Labs or any other knowledgeable persons are reading this particular post can you confirm whether these steps mentioned above a), b) or c) are the right things to do in the case of this issue?
Thanking you in advance Optical0IIRC the problem was there were two of the same files and it was trying to read both causing an error.
Renaming worked in solving the problem. Forgive but it's been awhile since I fixed it. From what I remember renaming fixed the problem though.
Hope that hel

Wbengine.exe faulting, ntdll.dll module at fault
Hello All,
I've got a client with a WD Sentinel running Storage Server (Server 2008 R2 based). We setup Windows Server Backup and it worked for a couple of backups. We then added a second drive and encrypted both with Bitlocker. Now, I'm getting the following
error in the logs. It happens right after the volume shadow copies are created, when the dialog box says "preforming consistency check." There are no other errors that I can find. Any thoughts?

While the behavior is quite similar to the error that is described there, it's not exactly the same. The fault offset and process are different. I've started working with Debugdiag to get a better idea of what is really going on. Here's the output from the
latest crash after I've installed all applicable hotfixes:

because you this loading firefox.exe like process from the beginning of the computer with a load from 38 to 42000 kb or like I can solve this problem, atualmente when lighting the computer among the processes that are loaded when beginning the computer is a process of name firefox.exe with a load of between 30 and 50000 kb but I don't find to the registered firefox inside the programs to crgar from the beginning when entering for msconfig.exe my operating system is so far windows xp up-to-date sp3 and my firefox is 7.0.1 version in Spanish that is my native language.
That seems very suspicious. Two suggestions.
First, try Firefox's Safe Mode. This will let you work around problems with add-ons and perhaps help you identify things to remove so that Firefox goes back to normal.
I recommend making a backup of your Firefox settings before starting in Safe Mode. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
Does that work? If so, you may need to disable your add-ons and just bring the most essential ones back to life until you discover the problem one.
Second thought: malware. You could supplement your usual security scans with these:
Malwarebytes Anti-malware : http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
SUPERAntiSpyware : http://www.superantispyware.com/
HouseCall : http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Hope this helps. -
Problem with module loading another module
I have run into what appears to be a bug in Adobe Flex 3.3, but would like others opinion. I have a simple application which loads a module.
If a user checks a box, then the module loads a submodule and calls a funtion in that submodule which modifies the UI slightly.
It really is simple code, but not easy to explain, so bear with me on this :-) All code is attached. Rename from *.txt to *.mxml.
I have added an event listener to the submodule loader for the ModuleEvent.READY event so that I can call a function in it once it is loaded (the function modifies the UI):
private function onModuleReady(event:Event):void{ Alert.show(
"Module load successful", "Success");
if (loader2.child is SubModule) {
var module:SubModule = loader2.child as SubModule; module.createCompleteHandler();
module.modifyUI(pnlMain);
}else { Alert.show(
"loader is NOT SubModule", "Failure"); }
Stepping through the debugger, loader2.child IS INDEED a SubModule Class, yet I consistantly step into the else clause. As I debugged this, I added a similar event listener for the READY even on the loading of the first module. By just defining a new function in the main module, this code now works. I don't have to actually call that function, just define it, meaning that if I comment out the entire function onModuleReady (the one defined in the main application that is just printing out a trace), I get the error stated above.
<mx:Application
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="createCompleteHandler()">
<mx:Script>

importMainModule;
importmx.events.ModuleEvent;
private function createCompleteHandler():void{loader.url =
"MainModule.swf";
// loader.addEventListener(ModuleEvent.READY, onModuleReady);loader.loadModule();
private function onModuleReady(event:Event):void{
if (loader.child isMainModule) {
trace("here");}
Please try the attached code, and try running it with the function onModuleReady implelented in the Application body and with it removed. Why would defining a function that is never called for the first module affect the second module?I figured this out. I needed to add loader.applicationDomain = ApplicationDomain.currentDomain;
This fixes the problem.

Skype.exe - problem library ntdll.dll
Many times already I have re-downloaded Skype due to problems. When I switch computer on, the warning message is shown :
title: "Skype.exe - Nie znaleziono punktu wejścia"
text: "Nie znaleziono punktu wejścia procedury NtAlpcSendWaitReceivePort w bibliotece ntdll.dll"
what means: "Skype.exe - Enter point not found"
text: "Entrance point of procedure NtAlpcSendWaitReceivePort in library ntdll.dll not found"
What is it and how to solve the problem?
annamatyjasikThis is a known issue with Skype and Samsung Kies Software. You may try to update your version of Samsung Kies Software or go to system32 folder and rename the avrt.dll file to avrt_old.dll

Error date20.dll module failed to load
I just loaded my Palm Desktop software onto a new PC with Vista. When I try to load the Palm Desktop I get this error message: "Error date20.dll module failed to load". Each time this happens, when I try to close this error message box for the 3rd time the Palm desktop finally loads. How can I stop this from happening every time I try to open palm Desktop?
Post relates to: Palm TXNot sure why I couldn't find this answer in my earlier searches...
But this thread solved it for me:
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/3aa1e324-da32-4ea0-865c-c69f610ef262/failed-to-load-execute-package-task-error?forum=sqlintegrationservices
Essentially I had to install SSIS on the build machine so that the 64-bit version for
ExecPackageTask.dll, was available. I did this from the original media CD selection Integration Services as a feature.
Hope this helps someone in the future. -

Months ago I have had problem with my SD card and did what it was said in this topic https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=115386. I don't know if it makes any difference, but it is worth saying. The problem from that topic still exists, when I put my /home into fstab, I am still getting error, that's why I have my mount in rc.local. -
Hi,
when a user click on menu item., I am using module loader to load the module which will be added as a child to the tab navigator in my main application. The user can click on same menu item more than once.
so same module can present in the diiferent tab of tab navigator.
when can i unload the module?.If user closes every tab, do i need to call unload() on every loaded module. If i call unload() on every loaded module, the same module present in the another tab is not working properly. It gives an null object reference, if i click on an button in it.
Regards,
ThiruHi,
Thanks for your reply.
When i use unload on module loaded on tab, will the corresponding module swf file from memory will be removed or not?
If the module swf file is removed , then will it affect same module loaded in another tab?
I am not clear about , when the module swf file will be removed from memory.
Regards,
Thiru -
Handheld application loader encountered a problem and needs to close
This problem has been occurring for months for me now, and still, I have not found a solution. There used to be no problem. The solutions I found online including in this forum do not work for me. I have uinstalled and reinstalled all bb softwares on my computer, I have deleted the apploader files, i have restored my XP computer to its factory settings and updated everything from scratch, from SP1 to SP3, and still, no solution is in sight.
I copied the error log which is found below: I hope somebody can decipher this and offer a solution;
Thanks.

Madden 07 MAINAPP.exe Problem has Occu
Hi all, I just installed a new Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Musicard and I am having a problem getting to play an actual game in Madden 07. I can load the start screen and make trades and so forth but when I hit the "play game" ?tab I get a black screen crash with the message "MAINAPP.exe problem has occured".
I am also using a GeForce 7800GS 256mb Video Card, latest drivers (93.7)?and am hoping that the sound card does not conflict with this.
Now I have tried Elder Scrolls Oblivion and am able to play?DVD's I just cant get Madden to work. Any suggestion? Thanks.Problem Solved:
1. Edit the C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_2\Apache\Apache\conf\php5.ini file as follows
doc_root = C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_2\Apache\Apache\htdocs
because php is not compile with force_redirect under CGI
& also
extension_dir = C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_2\Apache\Apache\modules\php5ts.dll
declare this directory because by default it is extension_dir = ".\php5\extensions"
and we comment it out with a semi-colon at the beginning of the line
and we need to explicitly specify the right directory because it is the directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside.
2. Save the file and close it.
3. Stop and Start the opmnctl components again.
Regards
Lam.
