Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3

FAudigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3! Specs
Asus a8n-sli
GB RAM
6600 GT
Audigy 4
LC Power 550 W PSU
I put in the installation CD that comes with the card. I want to install everything (full install), and mid-install I get a blue screen.
I then uninstalled everything and tried only to install the updated drivers from the website in safe-mode and still a blue screen. Should I get the dump file and send it to Creative?
How do get this card to work like it should? I also have a remote control that came together with the card.
Im currently using the onboard AC97 Realtek ALC850 soundcard.
Whats the whole procedure to make this work? Detailed please. How do I eliminate all traces of the audigy on my PC?

Re: Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP38 Perhaps you'd want to read this old thread of mine about my misadventures with the same exact card you are trying to use. IMHO that card was not worth the time and money I spent on it (even even less the time and money it caused me to spend afterwards to repair the damage it caused.

  • I5 17''MBP  gets blue screen during install windows 7 32 bit

    Hello all:
I heard that quite many people get classic windows' "blue screen" during using windows , whatever Windows XP, Vista or 7. But now i face the "blue screen" during install Windows 7, which means I even can not complete installation.
I bought my Macbook Pro i5 17'' one month ago, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 but I face the problem during the installation. After finishing first 4 steps the computer would restart and start to "finish installation", but at this time it gets "blue screen" and shows "error: 0x0000009c" and stuck there. I have to shut down the turn off button and interrupt the installation.
I don't know if there's any one else face this unlucky situation. I searched on the net and it says the problem could be from memory, graphic card (too new), or even overlocking the cpu, whatever it must be the problem of hardware. I thought it might be the problem of compatible.
If anyone knows how to deal with this problem??!! I do need to use some software under Windows system!

It is good to see that it is indeed a USB2.
The support software on the USB is used in the Pre-boot environment setup and provides drivers for Apple specific hardware, GPU, BT, Mouse, etc. You can verify that by looking at the USB contents. The DVD contains generic drivers when hardware is not recognized as defaults to use. Apple does enough 'secret sauce' to make them different. The following does not explicitly state the USB2 need when using the DVD Installer and mentions W8 (not W7).
From Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD - Apple Support
Insert a blank USB 2 flash drive that is a least 16GB in size into a USB port on the computer. Boot Camp Assistant uses this drive to store the Windows 8 install media and support drivers during installation of Windows.
Note: This flash drive needs to be formatted for the FAT32 file system and must use the Master Boot Record partitioning scheme. Use Disk Utility to check the format of the flash drive before proceeding, and partition or erase the flash drive if necessary.
I suspect the GPU is not getting the correct driver and the Installer fails. The Generic VGA should work. From the OS X side, can you see files in your BC volume? If yes, can you look for logs in the BC volume at the following locations.
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.dev.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.offline.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.setup.log
    ./Windows/Logs/SetupCleanupTask/setupact.log

  • Blue screens with Boot Camp Drivers?

Recently my Bootcamp Windows 7 install started getting random blue screens. I enabled the Windows Driver Verifier and the blue screens show up as BAD_POOL_CALLER at wdf01000.sys. If I inspect the blue screen dumps, it points me to the error being in MacHALdriver.sys
I reinstalled Windows 7, and ran it with the Verifier to ensure the install was clean. It was. The Verifier triggered the same blue screen during the installation of the Boot Camp drivers. Please point me in the right direction with this issue. Thanks!
The Bootcamp drivers were downloaded today from Apple. Version 5.0 build 5033.

Actually it is a problem specific to later model Macs.
If your Mac was manufactured after the release of Leopard (or whatever is the current MacOS), then there's a **** good chance that the Windows drivers on the MacOS disk won't drive your specific hardware. This happened on my late model iMac ... with the MacOsX 10.5 DVD crashing like crazy when installing drivers as part of the Bootcamp install. Never even got around to installing the BC Control panel, most of the drivers were improperly installed or not at all, and the Windows New Hardware Wizard never registered any installs.
    Crash City.
It would be nice if Apple kept updated versions of the Windows Setup program available at Apple.com ... with all the current Windows drivers for the current Mac hardware in them. Hey, I could copy that onto a USB drive or DOS formatted CD, boot Windows, copy the file onto the Windows partition, run it ... and then Bootcamp would operate well.
Just my 2 cents worth ...
    Regards,

  • My iMac is frozen on a blue screen during an update software for snow leopard. What do I do? Turn off my imac?

My iMac is frozen on a blue screen during an update of software for snow leopard. What do I do?  Should I turn off the computer?

do a hard shutdown of the mac (holding down the power button until it shuts off) then do an SMC reset, the following article tells how to do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
after doing this reset and restarting the mac, try again to install the update.

  • Getting light blue screen during startup for 3-5 Seconds

I get a light blue screen during start up for about 3-5 seconds. It shows the spinning image for loading, once its done that goes away and then it goes light blue for couple seconds then back to the white page with the apple logo then brings me to the user login page. It also takes longer then usual to start up, load dock and the menu bar. I've read around and it seems people are saying its normal? but this just started happening.

Which model Macbook Pro do you have?
It also takes longer then usual to start up, load dock and the menu bar.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
Go to your Account/Login Items and get rid of all you do not need.

  • How to install bootcamp drivers on Windows 8?

    Hello,
Today I decided to install Windows 8 onto my Mac Pro running 10.8.5 in order to play games on Steam.  I started BootCamp assistant and made a 65GB partition for Windows 8, and when I tried to install Windows I unchecked the top box (not sure what it said now).  Now I have a Windows computer, I CANNOT get back to OS X.  The Mac Pro will not boot into OS X, it just goes straight to Windows every time.  I've read that there should be some place in Windows to switch back, but I cannot find it.  I tried holding down the option key upon boot up at the gray screen, it still goes straight to Windows.  I tried holding command R at the boot up screen, it goes straight to Windows.  HELP!!  I picked the 60.5GB partition to install on, could it have somehow erased my OS X partition?  Is there a way to install bootcamp drivers from Windows?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jared

[Enable Bluetooth functionality after a clean installation of Windows 8|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03FI0001R04.htm]
If a clean installation of Windows 8 has been performed, Bluetooth is not present and does not work on your notebook. It is necessary to install two driver components manually to activate the Bluetooth functionality.
    - Toshiba System Driver
    - If your notebook is equipped with an Atheros or Realtek WLAN card with Bluetooth, you have to download the Atheros or Realtek Bluetooth Filter Driver
    - If your notebook is equipped with an INTEL WLAN card with Bluetooth, you don't need to download any filter driver

  • After login I get a blue screen and then back to login window, but only for one account

When one of the users on the iMac tries to login it goes to a blue screen and back to the login window.  This only happens with one of the users - I've tried doing a safe boot, running disk utility, and using Time Machine to restore the user's libray back to pre-problem timetable.  When I run repair permissions I do gt a SUID file "usr/sbin/vpnd" and "usr/sbin/pppd" have been modified.  Any ideas?

    Try this...

If that doesn't help I'd make a new user & use an admin account to move the old folders over & change rights to the new user.

  • Access to installed device drivers on windows using Java?

Is it possible to get access to installed device drivers on windows using java.

Java has APIs for accessing the OS, The OS has APIs for accessing devices.
Java does not have APIs for direct access to devices.
However, depending on the device, you get what you want most of the time. You would only access the device directly if the device isn't supported by the OS or Java directly.
Which device do you have in mind?

I have tried this on two identical Mac Pro. When it crashes it sites Cache_Manager.
On a Bootcamped Windows 7 x64 system, that's likely to be the AppleHFS.sys driver. There's some troubleshooting advice in the following thread at Macrumors:
