Audigy 4 (not pro) to yamaha home theatre (htr-5

ok, i read the help stuff but my questions arent being answered. Curently I have a jack that plugs into my card, (in the digital output - black) that then is connected to an rca cable via a connector. I plug the RCa cable in my digital input slot on the back of my reciever (5.). (I use this same slot to connect my hd reciever) I run the speaker settings for audigy, and then calibrate. Im only getting the front 2 channels during the speaker test. Why is this? i dont get rear 2, subwoofer, or center. I play a game where eax is enabled and still nothing. I know I have the right connections. Someone please help... It's kinda sad hat you buy a 80$ soundcard and dont get free phone support for it, they want you to pay an additional $20 which is rediclious... anyway somone help me, I need to get this working... Thanks?Should I try a DVD? all the speakers light up in reciever when dolby dig is on...Message Edited by gdubbs on 03-20-20060:03 PM

I believe you should be talking to LG about this. It's their problem, not Apple's.

I'm having problem networking a Yamaha home theatre amp with vTuner (net radio) with my 2nd gen Time Capule. I only occasionally connect.

Remember everything outside Apple uses SMB type network protocol, not AFP..
That means all your names have to be SMB compatible.. ie
TC name, wireless names, hard disk name..
They must be short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Explain how the whole network is connected.. which is the main router.. ?
How is TC2 connected to TC1?
What mode is it running in?

Hello...I was just gifted a new Sony BDV-E390 Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theatre System. Now I am searching for the best TV to use with it. I don't know the most about technology by any means. I do know that I am looking between the 46" and 55" range for size however. The Blu-ray player is 3D ready it says and I first and foremost do not want to have any feature not able to be used on my new TV. Do I need a 3D TV? I understand that the 1080p TV's are the best I think and the 120hz as well. I guess the "bigger is better" rule works here? Any suggestions for the best TV or at least features to a TV that would work best with my new Theatre System??
    Thanks in advance!
Best bang for buck TV right now is the Panasonic ST50 series plasma.

  • Ios 5 iphone 4, no ipod app causes device to be not recognized by my home theatre cradle.

    Hi Guys,
I just got a 3D TV and LG 3D Blu Ray/Home Theatre for Christmas, i've been playing with for a few days but one thing that is driving me nuts is the Home Theatre came with a Iphone/Ipod Dock that allows control throught the Theatre. However when i put my iphone 4 (running IOS 5.0.1) into the cradle nothing happens it isnt recognized and doesnt start charging as it should. I had my friend over tonight and outta curiosity we put his Iphone 3G into the cradle and it started charging instantly and allowed music playback from the ipod app. I then realized the problem is that in IOS 5 the ipod app was removed and replaced by a Music and Video App, this is my problem i am experiencing i believe. Does anybody know a way to get this working? To be specific my LG Home Theatre is model HB906TA.
I'm sure i can still use it via the apple usb cable into a usb port, but it would sure be nice to use the dock as it was intended.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Rich.

  • HT4437 Airplay not working through my home theatre system

The Airplay icon has been enabled to choose my Airport Express but there is no playback.

Not sure if this will resolve your problem but I had same problem. The airplay button would not show up on my iOS devices particularly my iPhone and I noticed the remote app was not working correctly also. For airplay and the remote app it wax a hit or miss the later being the most. The thing was my remote app usually never acted up before but than in remembered that I recently changed my router from an Apple Express to an Extreme. I had my Express set up in manual mode and I selected channel 11 manually. But when I set up the Airport Extreme I left the router in the default mode of "automatic". Upon changing the Extreme back to manual and selecting my own channel, everything has been great! So if most of you are like me and live in an Apple ecosystem and have Apple routers you may want to make sure the router is not set in automatic. I believe this to be what is causing problems.

  • Itunes to Home Theatre : Do I NEED Apple TV ?

My primary goal is simply to feed my iTunes music to my new Yamaha home theatre (HTIB). It would be nice, but not necessarily my goal to also send video from my iMac to the home theatre.
Near as I can tell, I have the following options :
Option 1 : run miniDVI >>DVI>>HDMI cable from my iMac to HTIB receiver. The Yamaha receiver only has 2 HDMI inputs, which I'd really like to use for my DVD player and HD DVR, so this is not my preferable option. Plus, I have read that it's not advisable to run HDMI more than about 16 feet, which I'd be right about at that length. I understand that I may need to do some configuring in my iMac controls set-up to make sure that all the audio currently playing on the iMac speakers is sent to the HDMI out.
Option 2 : run the audio out the headphone jack on the iMac, converted to red/white cable to the Yamaha receiver. Isn't the headphone jack output an analog signal? If so, this option seems like a sub-optimal solution. I'm not even sure if the Yamaha receiver would handle getting an analog input when it expects digital. Clearly I want to get the audio to the receiver in digital format; same as a CD player component into the receiver, right ?
Option 3 : get an AppleTV : I think I understand how that would work, and it should work nicely, for both audio and video. I currently have a syslink wireless router. The only downside appears to be the cost. I'd like to find a simple iMac to receiver wired connection to send (digitally) my iTunes to the home theatre, if possible. I'd prefer not to spend the $230 if I can get away with it
Option 4 : My iMac has what I believe to be "firewire" output. I'm not sure, the symbol next to the output port is sort of like the USB symbol, but different. I'm not sure what this port is, or if it has applications for what I'm trying to do.
Option 5 : is thewre a USB solution for me ? I know I have several open USB ports back there.
Option 6 : what about a hard wired connection from my Syslink router to the Home theatre ? How would I get my iTunes sent out through the network cable to the router ? I see a network cable input to the Yahama - maybe this is an option ?
    Thanks !
from my iMac does carry audio and video, but the
PROS : simple, no need for AppleTV,

1 - non-starter unless you run analogue/optical audio cable too - DVI only transmits video, no audio
2 - iMac audio out can be set to be analogue or optical - your receiver might accept either - what's the model?
4 - you don't need this to accomplish what you want
5 - not without replicating functionality the iMac audio out already has
6 - again, give the receiver model - you ay have more options if this is say a DLNA compliant device that allows media to be streamed to it
3 - personally I think AppleTv is great for music playback and why I bought mine - does your receiver have component in (the other video out on AppleTV) and optical digital in? Or maybe the TV has component video and you could connect AppleTV to TV for video signal and run optical lead for audio to receiver (though you'd not get AppleTV soud through the TV).
As others mention, an Airport Express is another option which can be a cheaper audio out extension for your computer to playback iTunes digitally via optical cable. Cheaper, but you either need the iMac nearby to control this (so just use the iMac) or an iPhone/iPod Touch to select the music. The downside to the iPhone/iPod Touch in my opinion is that they'd need to be charged with excellent wireless reception in the room you want to use them - both my iPhones wi-fi in the house is flaky to say the least whereas my AppleTV is near perfect for reception.
Tell us what the receiver type is.

  • How do i connect my iPod classic to my home theatre system?

I'd like to play my iPod through my LG home theatre system but am sure how to connect it. There's a USB and microphone port on the front.

    Hi Twofishdan,
I think that the easiest way to connect the iPod is via an aux-to-aux cable, which you plug in to the 3.5mm aux jack (headphone/microphone port) in your home cinema system, and the other end in the iPod's headphone jack.
You could also try using your normal Apple 30 pin sync/charge cable, plugging it in the USB slot and connecting your iPod, but this might not work if the home theatre wasn't programmed to connect Apple devices via USB, therefore it's a trial and error process which you might be lucky to work for you.
    Good Luck,
    Stefan

  • Trying to get sound from my X-FI Fatal1ty Titanium Pro. to Home Theatre via Optical Ca

Hi wondering if anyone has done this but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a X-Fi Fatalty Titanium Pro(w/o the Li've Dri've) on Vista 32-bit. Anywho it has the Optical I/O on the card itself and I am trying to hook this up to my Home Theater system. I have the optical already hooked up to the output on the card, and into my DVD input on my Yamaha receiver but am not getting any sound. So far that's all I have done, is there settings I am more than likely missing either in the Vista sound, creative console, etc....
Note:? I had this working before on my onboard sound and on XP, but since with the onboard I could only get some sounds playing through my home theater I decided to get this Fatalty Titanium card and the sound settings in Vista seems really vague not a lot of options.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andy

I have a Yamaha RX-V3800, it's fairly new and supports just about every thing except true THX.
Not sure what DDL means, it just seems to me I am having a lot harder time with Vista setting than with XP. I had a X-Fi XtremeGamer installed but because it didn't have any Digital out so I had to use my onboard sound which has digital out in conjunction with my XtremeGamer. At least with XP you can choose say all my wave, payback sounds, etc.... to go through one device or the other, in my case either through the Realtek HD or the CL X-Fi XtremeGamer.
Now that I have the Fatalty and Vista and onboard sound disabled, I have a hard time seeing any options and settings if any at all that Vista has. ? Oh yes also with my old setup with the two sound devies, the only problem I had was that if I di'vert all the sound to my Home Theatre I would lose the sound in my Headset which I didn't want and had to change back and forth the audio devices to what I wanted.
I hope this helps answer your questions a little, and maybe help me answer mine.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Question on hooking up an Audigy 2zs to my home theatre syste

im trying to hook up my home theatre system to my pc. does anybody know if the "creative sound blaster digital I/O module cable" (which is an adapter that converts /8" headphone jack to a digital optical cable), is compatible with the Audigy 2zs card? so far i heard its only compatible with the audigy 2 value card..why not the 2zs?
Message Edited by listento3 on 06-27-2006 :6 AM

    listento3,
Are you referring to the Digital I/O module unit's If that's the one, then no, I'm afraid it doesn't work with the Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. If your HT system works with coaxial input, you can use coaxial instead of optical.

  • Digitally Connecting Soundblaster audigy 2 to sonydav s550 home theatre sys

Hi, I have a Soundblaster audigy 2 im not sure which model but it has a pink digital out audio socket on the back of it. My sony system has a digital optical in socket on it. I am having problems connecting them. I brought the following
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...gital&doy=26m5
as it has a miniplug adaptor which i thought I could use on one end to connect to my soundcard digital output and connect the other end to my home theatre system. Did I get the wrong wire? If so what wire will I need to connect them, will miniplug not fit on the soundblaster digital out, what does? I have messed around with the control panels with no luck. Anyone have any ideas, by the way Im new to this. Thanks in advance

    Hello all,
I am having a similar issue. I would like to connect my Audigy 2ZS to a Sony Reciever (STR DE-898) preferably via the digital out. The sound card and reciever are 25 feet apart.
I have read that the digital out on the Audigy 2ZS is specifically for creative lab speakers, and that if you connect it to a normal reciever that it may damage the reciever is this true?
Second, the other option that I have is to buy the 7. adaptor and connect RCA extension cables to the reciever.
The last option is to connect it to the regular headphone jack out, and use an extension cable to connect to the reciever (This is what I am currently using), but the sound quality is terrible.
Please help, I read the recent post on digital out ,which helped some, but still the question remains... if you connect the digital out on the Audigy 2ZS to a Sony receiver will this damage the receiver?Message Edited by asharabi98 on 05-27-2006 0:38 AMMessage Edited by asharabi98 on 05-27-2006 0:39 AM

  • Dolby Home Theatre missing after Win 7 Pro x64 factory restore

    Hi,
I restored my T430s to the factory default Win 7 Pro x64 .
However, Dolby Home Theatre cannot be found.
Where do I download it? It does not appear in the driver matrix for the T430s.
    Thanks!
    Solved!

I had this Dolby tool and uninstalled it :-)  I think Dolby tool is part of AUDIO driver install. Download the AUDIO package for your laptop and install it. Dolby tool appears in  'Programs and Features' also.

  • How do I stream iTunes content to my home theatre using any combination of a MacBook Pro, an iPhone 4s, and a PS3 using only a LOCAL network?

I have found many solutions to this problem assuming home internet access, but I only have access to the internet via my iPhone. I do not want online capability in my PS3. All I want to be able to do is control iTunes on my MacBook, and hear/view the content on my home theatre. I would prefer to use my iPhone as the remote for iTunes, and do not want to add the monthly cost of home internet to this equation. I do not require access to anything on my MacBook except iTunes in this application. I would prefer to use iTunes and stream to my home theatre, as opposed to setting up my MacBook as a media server and using the PS3 interface. Is this possible? Can I accomplish this goal using a local network? Can I create a wifi network on my MacBook to do this, or do I need a router? I am looking to spend as little as possible on this project, as I plan on moving to a more urban area soon, and will be buying Apple TV and subscribing to home internet service when this happens.

Get an AirPort Express.  It has an audio out which you can connect to the line-in on your home theatre system.  All the other devices will talk to the AirPort Express and stream content to it via wi-fi.

  • My iPhone 4s will not connect with my home WiFi network. I have ios6 on my phone. I have updated my IMac and my MacBook Pro with iOS 10.8.2. Anyone have any suggestions? It was connecting with no problems prior to updating my two computers.

My iPhone 4s will not connect with my home WiFi network. I have ios6 on my iPhone. The connection was working perfectly before I updated my IMac and my MacBook Pro to ios 10.8.2. I have had ios6 since I purchased the phone a couple of months ago. It searches for a network and finds them, but when it asks for my password, it will not accept the password. Have never had this happen before.

    try this.
get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
see if that sorts it out for you.

  • Home Theatre and iMac 27" display NOT working

Ok, I bought an iMac 27" (MC511T/A). It does not have Thunderbolt port but the old good mini DVI.
What I'm trying to do is using its stunning display as an external video for my Home Theatre System.
From the Home Theatre > HDMI into DVI > DVI into Mini DVI > iMac
It doesn't detect anything at all.
    Any guess?

First, your iMac has a MiniDisplayPort not a DVI-port.
Second, for Target Display Mode (as Apple calls it) the iMac only accepts DisplayPort-compliant signals which HDMI is not.
    HDMI is comparable to DVI.
    Therefor your connection doesn't work.
    What is Target Display mode?
