Audigy 4 Pro can't start Entertrainment Cen

<!--StartFragment -->Hi.With my new Audigy 4 Pro, if I try to start Entertrainment Center, I get the following message (it's a translation: the original message is in Italian):- - - -Can't start Entertrainment Center with the installed video drivers. To get newer drivers please contact manufacturer or seller of video card.- - - -My system is Windows XP based, the video card is SIS M74 builtin in Rock K7S4GX motherboard, video RAM is 64 MB, driver is SiS version 6.4.0.3540 (30 Oct 2003). I know (from Creative Customer Support) that Entertainment Center software is not from Creative. However without this software the Creative remote control is unuseful. What happens seems very strange to me, since my video card is very common and newer drivers do not exist. Furthermore I can't imagine what special video cards or video drivers are necessary if I want to use Entertrainment Center. Can anybody help me?Thanks.Gian Carlo

Macbook pro can't start. It says that I need to restart by pusing the power button longer and start again bypusing the star button.
But when it restarts, the same message will appear. Can anybody help?
    Thanks,
    Ronny.

Not quite sure what your situation is, but I'd probably start by booting from your Install DVD by holding C. Then selecting language, and going to Disk Utility, then Repair Disk & Repair Permissions.
A photo of the error msg would help if you have a camera handy.

  • My MacBook Pro can't Start

    Hi,
This is so strange, my macbook pro can not start sometimes.
My macbook is an early version in 2011 with Mountain Lion installed now. The first time I can't start my mac in early Auguest.
I checked power, and pressed to start, but I only noticed that only the light flashed once, a very low sound made by the CD-drive I think (Truse me much lower than the normal sound).  The strange things it started againt next day's morning, then I shut it down and went to work, and I couldn't start it in the evening. I have suffered this for three times. Normal to start in the morning, but dumped in the evening. So I disassembled it, but stoped after I toke down the battery and harddisk, then I cleaned the dust and assembled it back. what is surpise, It's back to normal until last Friday.  Yes, It dumped again last Friday with the same symptom, and it seems my mac spent more time to recover itself this time. Last Monday evening it started when I feel hopeless, Tuesday was good, but on Wenday evening dumped again, and keep dumped by now.
Does anyone know what's the problem my computer has? Anything is wrong, power supply? Mainboard?
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Not sure if it will help... but... have a look at this discussion...

  • My MacBook Pro can not start completely it stays on a blue scre

I restarted my MacBook Pro but left a USB plugged now it can not start completely it stays on a blue screen where I can see the pointer and sometimes a small icon which indicates its processing something. It has being like that for two days. I can not even turn it off I have to hold the bottom to force it to shut off.

i know this may be silly but i hope you removed the usb device while restarting.
If you did then hold up the option key as soon as you press the power button. It will bring you to a bootfolder selection choose your main partition and boot up. Alternatively if this does not help then do a PRAM and SMC reset. If these things fail then select recovery partition and go to disk utility and repair permisions for the main partition within the first aid section. If all else fails you would need to re install the osx, hope you have a back up.
Since you have not told us what model and year the mbp is if you have the recovery discs with you use disc 2 and read the insturctions on the disc as to what key you should hold.

  • My Mac book pro can't start totally despite repeated attempt to off /on the power button , anybody there can help me ?

    Hi,
My Mac book pro , 13 " which I bought in late 2011 , iOS 6 system, today suddenly can't start at all after I try to sync with my iPhone . Anybody there can help me urgently .?....I have tried repeatedly to switch off and then switch on the power button , but to no avail .... I really don't know what is going on ? So far , it never give this type of problem.
Thanks for anybody who can help me in this .

    1. Your MacBook Pro does not run iOS 6 system. iOS is for iPhone, iPad devices. From the Finder menu select the Apple>About This Mac should give you the operating system you are running. So now what happens when you push the power button?

  • Macbook Pro can only start up in safe mode

    Hi,
My Macbook Pro has recently been freezing on a blue screen when I try and start up. I seem to only be able to start up in safe mode.
I have followed some instructions found regarding the blue screen issue: deleting some files out of library/startupitems folder
and managed to start up normally once, then soon after I got a message saying I need to restart my computer by holding down the power button.
I am now back to having to log in using safe mode.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

  • My Mac Pro can not start up

    Hi everybody,
I am using Macbook pro, Processor 2.5 Ghz intel core i5, memory 4gb 1600 Mhz DDR3 and OS X version 10.9.1. The last time when i turned off, it still worked normally, but now when i start up my Mac, it didn't work as it just appeared the grey screen with apple and a loading symbol. I wait for about 15 minutes and even 30 minutes but it still can not enter to the main screen. I don't know what's happen with my Mac.
Beside, i feel the OS X version 10.9.1 make my MAC slow down and even be unstability , i don't know why and how to solve it. Thus, Would you please help me to solve my problem?
    Thanks in advanced.

  • Can't start up; stuck at gray screen- started w/ Skype

hi all.  my mom's Macbook Pro can't start up.  it gets stuck at the grey screen w/ the Apple logo and spinning pinwheel every time.  nothing else is plugged into the laptop aside from the power cord.
here's what i tried already, but to no avail:
      - Reset SMC
      - Reset PRAM
      - Hold shift while starting up... nothing happens.  So can't start in safe mode
      - Used install disk to run Disk Utility diagnostic: Ran into a bunch of Disk Permission errors and fixed those.  Nothing wrong on the Disk itself.
      - Held Command-S while starting up and typed "fsck -fy".  Got "File system was modified" at first.  Ran it again and got clean bill of health there
      - Held "d" while booting, ran the hardware test and it checked out fine.
after all of the above, tried waiting for it to restart for 15 minutes and still same spinning wheel.
this all started when a Skype update couldn't install, so i got rid of the current Skype.  then tried downloading the new Skype. after it supposedly downloaded fully and it was automatically processing in the download pop up window (e.g. something about "writing", "image", etc.), it got stuck and froze the computer for at least 5 minutes.  at that point, i help the power button until it turned out.  then this started...
    please help!  thanks!
PS: not sure if this has anything to do w/ the problem, but after this happened, i tried to use Disk Utilities to make an image onto an external hard drive and it gave me an "operation timed out" error.

MacBook Pro 5,1 came with 10.5 Leopard installed, so it has at least that, if not upgraded to 10.6.
See this Apple note: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 . You've done some of the steps already.
It appears your mother is running Norton Antivirus? or other Symantec programs. If the Antivirus, recommend removing it, and if she wants an antivirus, install ClamXav from http://www.clamxav.com.

  • MacBook pro does not start. How can I back to Mac OS X Lion?

I have a MacBook Pro. On my MacBook i made three partition, then I installed window 8. After that I started windos and try to delete third partition by Administrator tool from windows operating system. After that my MacBook does not start. How can I back to Mac OS X Lion?
After that I again install windows 8 from a DVD. Windows start well, but I can not start Mac OS system, may be it was 10.6.  Sever times I tried to install OS X Lion 10.7 thought DVD, I could not. On MacBook I have a lot of important data.
What can I do. I want to a complete suggestion. Please help me to solve the problem.
My MacBook Pro model no. A1286.

You installed Windows improperly the result of which was to wipe out the bootloader for OS X. You can give this a try:
    Boot Using OPTION key:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "OPTION" key.
      3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
      4. Select the OS X disk icon from which you want to boot.
      5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.
If you are still unable to boot from the OS X volume then you will need to reinstall OS X:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
This will destroy the Windows bootloader so you cannot boot into Windows. The solution is to remove all the partitions on the drive except the OS X partition, then expand the OS X partition to take up the entire drive.
Use Boot Camp Assistant in the Utilities folder to create a Windows partition on which you can install Windows. You cannot have any other partitions on the drive besides these two.
Now given all the above you may be able to install a third-party bootloader that would work with the setup you now have: Boot Runner 1.4.

  • When trying to install os x mavericks to my macbook pro as it started to install the computer now is stuck with the OS X Mavericks intall showing and I can't get out of it or force quit?

When trying to upgrade and install OS X Mmavericks to my Macbook Pro as it started to install the computer stopped the install and now is stuck with the OS X Mavericks intall window showing and I can't get out of it or force quit? I can not do anything else because this is stuck with this window/install screen showing. I have tried everything to get back to my regular desktop. So if there is any way to bypass this installer and get back to my regular desktop I would greatly appreciate the help.

Install or Reinstall Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • HT1338 If I have OS 7.5 installed on an external drive, can I start up from the external drive in that OS when my macbook pro is 10.7?

If I have OS 10.6 installed on an external drive, can I start up from the external drive if I have 10.7 installed on my macbook pro?

Provided that the MBP supports booting from that version of 10.6, and the install was from a retail disk (not a different Mac model), then yes. If it's a newer Pro that came with Lion, it may not boot to 10.6.
