Audigy and NEO

I bought the NEO K8T, 3200 CPU, ATi 9800XT, and tried to use my audigy MP3+ card from my other computer. I updated the bios to 1.13. When I install the card into the computer, the computer freezes up or boots with sound then no sound and windows says I don't have a sound card installed. The audigy drivers will not install cause windows does not see my sound card!!
Now what!

  • Sound Blaster Audigy and STAL

I've got the following problem. In game called "S. T.A.L.K.E.R" i can hear very lound sounds of shooting and very silence people conversations.
I've got "Sound Blaster Audigy" and Creative Speakers.

    Hi,
    There are several choices if it comes to Audigy (emu0kx) drivers;
    First you can use the last official Creative Labs' driver for the Audigy series which you can download on the official driver download site here at Creative Labs' site, but you will loose a lot of apps/softwares, but it should work;
The second one would be the mentioned Daniel_K's driverpack 3.8 for the Audigy series which works pretty good, although I dislike the individual installers/uninstallers for each applications which makes uninstallation of the driver very annoying.
The third one would be the Project KX driver which is very light in size but very powerful, especially for recording and other music related purposes. There's a learning curve since it really looks different (interfaces for example), but once you have found out how the KX driver works you will be happy you own an genuine Audigy emu0kx soundcard.

  • Soundblaster Audigy and Windows

I've just installed Windows XP on a new hard dri've. I'm running an older computer with a 700mhz Celeron processor with an Audigy soundcard. On Windows ME it worked fine, but since upgrading, sounds work fine, but when I try playing music of any kind it locks my machine up so bad I have to shut it down manually. I've tried reinstalling Windows and the soundcard drivers, and nothing works. Is there a known issue with the Audigy and Windows XP?
I'm greatful for anything you can tell me, I'm at a loss.
    Thank you

    Why bother with Microsoft?
They didn't even add in 6. in Windows XP
    Seriously, use Creative Speaker Settings.

  • Audigy and ddts-

After i opened the box today and hooked up the ddts to my promedia 5. ultras....i was very happy. I am running my ps2 into it with a toslink, and it sounds great. I have a audigy regular (mp3 or gamer), and the only setup I can get to work with it is with the digital coax and the converter to /8, HOWEVER, when using the digital coax i do NOT have the option of anything but stereo! I got the ddts mainly for up-mixing my mp3s. Can you get anything else (ie prologic, or neo6? is there a better way to hook them up? I tried using an old cable i had laying around from an old minidisk player that has one side /8th and the other toslink, however I'm not sure if it even works correctly in this application. I tried hooking up from the audigy to the ddts with a /8th to rca, and could not get any sound, except for some buzzing in the center channel. I also recieved today my creative audigy 2 zs notebook, however my dell inspiron 9200 wont get here for a few days . Will I have similiar problems with this? If it turns out my toslink to /8th cable is faulty my plan was to go buy a toslink cable and the /8th converter and use it that way. Will that work properly with my new notebook and/or my current desktop? My goal was to have all three components (ps2, notebook, desktop) hooked up digitally (I love anything and everything 5., including my mp3s). Should I be having this problem with my audigy and the digital coax? Should the /8th to rca work?
    Thanks a lot,
    Mike

Analog output on the soundcard --> DDTS-100 switchbox
    Switchbox --> DDTS-100 main unit
    Switchbox --> Speakers
Digital out on the soundcard --> Coaxial input on the DDTS-100 main unit
The digital output on the soundblaster can ONLY SEND OUT EITHER A PCM STEREO SIGNAL OR AN ENCODED DATA STREAM (AC-3). In order to make the DDTS-100 decode the data stream correctly you MUST have the software set to SPDIF passthrough and also have that set in the Audio HQ or the Audio console. Put the switchbox to decoder mode. The only way to light up the lights of the DTS and Dolby Digital is to feed the main unit with an encoded data stream of those sound formats. If you try to play anything and put it through the digital out that is not DTS or DD you are going to get... Stereo.
In order to get sound from the side speakers you must first set the switch on the back of the DDTS-100 main unit to 6.1/7.1 and set the upmix to 5.1-->7.1 or 6.1-->7.1 (depending on the source) on the main volume controller of the S750.

  • Conflict between audigy and Olympus voice recor

I have an audigy se recently installed. Seemed to be working fine until I opened my Olympus voice recorder program. Just opening the program knocked out the sound card and I could not get it back again. No speakers in any application on the computer except the diagnostic test. Then the speakers would play. But no cd's, no wav files, no nothing. Tried checking and unchecking all the boxes. There really aren't that many. Only way to solve the problem was to uninstall and reinstall audigy and not go to Olympus anymore. I've done that several times to confirm that is the problem.
    Any suggestions?

Could anyone help me to resolve the conflict between my Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS and Norton antivirus. The auto protect feature is constantly being turned off on boot up. According to Symantec the problem is caused by conflict between the two soft wares. The Creative page does not mention this at all and the work around on the Symantec site either does not work or entails time wasting closing of programs and re-boots. It is really getting to me now and I wonder if any one knows of a permanent fix?

Some past post here mention of this too.....and the mods suggestion does indeed helped some of them resolve it. Perhaps you can try it. What you need to do is uninstall all Norton and Creative software. When you're done with that, install Creative software first follow by Norton stuff.

  • Liveupdate2 crashes in WinXp pro and Neo-fis2r

When I install liveMonitor with liveupdate 2 it will crash after the reboot, stating that the hardware monitor cannot be initialized and that there are errors. After I click these error messages away it just reboots.
I tried admin account, still same error message, but no reboot! And when I deinstall Liveupdate 2 again, the corecenter won't work anymore either!
NOTE: at this point all other drivers are already installed (ie. Soundblaster etc.), including MSI corecenter and the infoviewer.
I have a brand new PIV 2.8 ghz, msi Neo-fis2r, SB Audigy 2, 120 Gig HDD, Toshiba DVD SD-1502, 512 ddr ram.
Is anyone familiar with WIN XP or this problem? Could use it... THNX!!!

Well, I have the problems like yours.  After long time researching.  I find out that both programs (corecenter and life update) have services that need to be started before loading the corecenter program and life monitor.
So what i did was just remove it to be auto load at windows startup.  but instate, wait till all the windows fully loaded then only load those program.
    Good luck.

  • Is it possible to use an Audigy and Xfi at the same ti

Hello, this is my first post in the forums.
I have using Creative soundcards since many years ago, and all of them are working today.
Now, in my primary there is an Audigy, mainly used with Debian Linux, working wondefully, and some Windows time for games.
I'd like to use a Xfi, but the promised Linux compatibility is still on the horizon, so, is it possible to install a Xfi along my Audigy, using only the Audigy in Linux and the two soundcards on Windows (Xfi with headphones and Audigy with surround system Creative P580)?
Will there be a driver conflict of some sort (in Windows) ?

I'm running into the same problem. While it is possible to create an aggregate device using Apple's Audio MIDI setup utility, the Mac doesn't see both microphones. It only ever sees the second one that's plugged in.

  • Audigy and H

    Hello all,
I bought an Audigy card yesterday. I'm trying to get audio from my PC into my Sharp Aquos.
I've got picture through the DVI/HDMI connector but no audio. I'm running a 3.5mm through to 2 RCA connectors into the TV.
I'm not getting any sound through the TV and i'm pretty sure the problem lies in the card or connectors.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get some sound out of this thing?

  • RAM and NEO-FIS2R

    Hello,
My first time here, and i've read through a large portion of the already available posts, but nothing so far have i found to solve my problem.
I recently bought the MSI NEO-FIS2R board along with an Athlon64 3200+. I also purchased 1gig (2x512) Kingston HyperX PC3200, ECC Registered. I cant for the life of me, get it to boot with both DIMMs installed, either work, but not both.
I've toyed with timeing and bus ect per the posts on this board, but nothing so far. Anyone with some specific advice?
Thanks in advance for the help =)

    hi
i havent got an msi motherboard but an asus.
I recently bought 2x 512 400 ddr from Corsair and the system only loads up with one stick and not the other. Tied to do lot of combination by putting in slot 2 and 3 etc put with no further sucess.
In fact some motherboard like mine do not recommend these types or ram memory so i had to get a refund.
is this ram is supported by msi motherboard?
    see you

  • Audigy and HL2/CSS 5.1 sou

I have an Audigy ES with the Jan 2th Vista beta drivers. I cannot get true 5. sound from Half Life 2 or CSS... for example when I do the sound test ingame, the 'Rear right, rear left' sound come out of the front speakers as well, which shows it is more like a stereo sound upmixed for all 6 speakers. Does HL2 require ALchemy to get true 5. Or is there no solution at the moment? It is also the same on my Realtek AC97 onboard.

Hello Deadly,?Go and get ALchemy and install it. then go into the program folder (of ALchemy) and copy the dsound.dll and dsound.ini to your Executable folder. Which should be something like C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/(account name)/hl2.
Then modify the INI file and put the duratino to 5 and that should fix your problem.
Tried it on my CSS (not in game but rather the TEST YOUR SPEAKER button) and everything is back to normal after this.
    Hope this helps

  • Audigy and front Mic/Headset connectors at c

    Hello,
I?m thinking abut buying an Audigy card, but need to know IF AND HOW I may connect the card to the front connectors wich are integrated in my computercase (Mic and Headphone).
(I dont want any 5 /4 connector panel)
Please helpMessage Edited by Gork on 05-24-2006 04:35 AM

I found this information on Creative KnowledgeBase ..
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio and Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer feature the Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio) Front Panel header.
Bad information is that it's not compatible w/ all front panel connection methods.
This header follows the standard 2x5pin Intel HD Audio conform layout. It is not compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio.

  • E8400 and neo-fr

    hey i have a e8400 and a neo-fr with bios 1.1......
xp hangs forever at setup windows (xp install)
i am right by saying bios update if so great the task of making it work is fanily over... yes the disks are fine and also using 250GB ide hard drive but some people have said SATA is a problem wtich i have got but not using becuase people say is bad and cant install with xp need drivers
what i want to no is how to flash bios and how to install xp on a sata hard drive (i have a flopy drive) or is this not the problem?
thanks this will stop loads of steress :D and thanks to the great board you have sold me truly amazing :D

You can still use a a floppy disk to boot and flash the BIOS as long as you don't read directly from the floppy disk during the flash process.
In DOS there is something called ramdrive, it uses a small portion of your memory to create a virtual drive.
You can copy the BIOS files from the disk to the virtual ram drive.
Then run the bios flash program from the ramdrive and this removes the floppy disk flash risk as it will not be used during the flash procedure.
Download this to create the RAMDRIVE boot disk.
    http://www.nerdlabs.org/bootdisks/diskimages/wboot98se.exe
Run the file and it will create a floppy boot disk.
Download the MSI BIOS (version 1.8) and extract the files to a folder.
Copy the 2 files (A7345IMS.180 & Afud408.exe) to another disk.
Boot from the floppy RAMDRIVE boot disk.
    - Start computer without CD-ROM support
    - Once it has finished loading take out the disk.
    - Insert the 2nd disk with the 2 files (A7345IMS.180 & Afud408.exe).
    # Type (notice the space bars)
    copy a:\*.* c:
    # Press enter
    # Type
    c:
    # Press enter
    # Type
    afud408 A7345IMS.180
    # Press enter
    It should flash the BIOS.
    - Once done turn the PC off.
    - Remove the PSU mains cable for the back
    - Press the front case switch power button (should help to discharge any remaining power)
    - And clear the CMOS, press and hold down the CMOS clear switch for at least 30 seconds.
    And your done.
Make sure you run memtest for a while before the BIOS flash. (if you have never run memtest, go for 3 hours)
    - This will create a memtest boot disk.
    http://www.memtest.org/download/2.01/memtest86+-2.01.floppy.zip
    - Extract the files to a folder and run the install file. (requires another floppy disk)
Once the disk has been created it cannot be read in windows, so do not try to read it as you will get a message saying "disk not formatted..."

  • Audigy and BA75

I am trying to use Boston Acoustic BA7500G digital speakers with my SoundBlaster Audigy card. I can't get any sound out of them, but the device is working properly. Has anyone tried this combo before?

And here is the link to the Intel site for the PINOUTS for your front panel jacks.......
You can find AC97 and INTEL HD Audio or Azalia
    http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...sb/CS-0585.htm
Lastly since Creative does not make an adapter for everyone's front panel jacks...... These guys do. I received mine in about four days, and the cable is sturdy.

Anyone been able to get the audigy drivers from opensource.creative.com to work? I try to compile them but I get errors for the kernel source not being in the right place....speaking of which, where do I get the kernel source for the stock kernel in .4?
    Thanks

    Thanks
I'm not home (near on my arch cd-rom) currently but as I recall the kernel source is either on the root of the disc or on the arch dir. To install creative drv's compile your kernel (make sure u select sound support -not emu10k1- and oss if u want sequencer support) and boot it. If everything is ok, mv /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux-arch and "ln -sf /usr/src/linux-2.4.20 /usr/src/linux". Then simply untar the drv pkg, edit config and run make twice & then make install & make tools.
My suggestion is to use cvs version of the drivers cause they work better with audigies (I have a plain sblive so can't confirm that )
