Audigy driver update = low effe

I have an Audigy and after update the drivers the effects sound very low (quiet). In fact at the environments effects the effects is applied just at the center speaker. But before update drivers all sound just fine. So, the updates are for better performance or for lower the performance? )

Download the updated drivers from Creative Support (or lateset WHQL drivers from http://www.station-drivers.com/)to your PC and try install them by running the CTZAPXX.EXE (found on the \Drivers\support\i386 -folder of your driver pack.
If didn't get drivers installed using that method, then goto HERE and follow the instructions.

  • Audigy 2 ZS, Driver update results in broken driver, no sound.

    > I recently bought a used Audigy 2 ZS which works fine with the drivers from the CD. I don't know how old they are, Creative System Informations says driver version .82.0. That's why i wanted to update them. I had a Li've! before, so i knew how to update the drivers with the auto updater on the creative site. By the way, i did a clean up of the old drivers with Driver Sweeper before installing the new sound card.
When i do a driver update with the auto updater on the Creative website it downloads and install the newer drivers, but after the mandatory reboot i have no sound, and every Tool crashes, throws an error message or just doesn't work. I lose all my EAX effects and can't select any speakers. The only way to solve that is to uninstall everything and do a clean start with the CD.
I can update everything via the auto updater, except the drivers.
Using Audigy 2 ZS and Windows XP SP3
    AMD Athlon XP 3200+
    2 GB DDR-400 RAM
    Geforce 6800GT 256MB

With XP I'm still using 2.8.000, they seem to work fine

  • 10/09/06 driver update for Audigy 2

Has anyone installed the driver update put out today for Audigy 2 ZS? Any feedback on whether they are worth downloading would be appreciated.

You can install the file EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe . Check under Support> Downloads, and fill that in the Search By Filename option. That file can be installed standalone (no previous drivers required).

  • Audigy 2 driver update fresh inst

Just did a fresh install of Win XP. Now I have two questions:
() Can I install the drivers and firmware directly from Creative, without using the original installation CD, and, if so, which of the many downloads do I choose? (Audigy2CMS PCAPP LB 3 0. . . .)??
    (2) If it is advisable to use the original CD first, which of the update downloads do I use (if any) for the Audigy 2?
I find the download update lists leaves me with questions Having had issues slowly develop with the previous install of XP and Audigy, I wish to take advantage of this fresh XP install to install Audigy correctly.
    Thanks, guys.

    Quinnjm,
It really depends on what you use. If you have a platinum dri've and use the remote then you will want to at least install MediaSource from the CD. Then you will only need to update file to MediaSource.
The only driver file you will need to install will be the second driver listed:
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS Driver Update[/url]
This file will install with or without drivers and includes a file called CTPanel.exe that will allow you to configure your card. The file is located in c:\program files\Creative\SB Audigy 2\Program\Common\WDM

  • Audigy 2 & 4 Driver Update Faulty

I had a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Plat. Soundcard.
I recently re-formatted my PC, Installed the drivers from the CD, everything was absolutly fine, then I went onto the Creative Website and used the Auto-Update to update the drivers and software.
When installing the Driver update, it came up with a message saying that the driver could not be stopped, then it asked to restart, which it did, it then proceeded to install the driver, it then asked to restart windows again.
When windows reloaded, there was no sound,?on investigating why, the Sound Blaster was not listed as a soundcard under Sound and Audio Devices.
I looked in device manager and the soundcard was listed as a Multimedia Audio Controller with a yellow exclaimation mark next to it.
I've been able to get the sound card to work again by going onto the Windows Update website, it appeared as an update under hardware.
However when I play a DVD now, my DVD software allows SPDIF playback, it doesn't appear to send anything to my Creative Inspire Digital 5500 speakers, prior to my reformat, they switched to Dolby Digital mode, but now they don't and I get no sound at all.
So I tried downloading the Driver again and installing it, the same thing happened when it installed on my PC, in that it had to restart as it couldn't stop the device.
This time, when it did so, an add new hardware search for drivers window came up, looking for a "PCI Input device" I opted to search for drivers automatically, and it claimed it could not find any drivers, and now I get no sound again.
Luckily the Driver has appeared again in Windows Update, so I will be able to get sound again.
Does anyone know how to get the Driver update to install properly, is anyone else experienceing the same problems as me?

With XP I'm still using 2.8.000, they seem to work fine

  • Blank screen after display driver update Satellite Pro P200

I installed the latest ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 display driver (8.432, from the Toshiba site via Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. On rebooting everything looks fine as far as the Windows Vista Business "Please wait ..." screen, but instead of displaying the login page I get a blank screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as normal). All I can do at this point is power off, and I've run out of ideas on how to get any further.
    Things I've tried:
    # booting into safe mode, low-resolution video or last known good configuration all result in the same blank screen.
    # connecting to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) isn't possible because the system hasn't loaded the network drivers yet.
    # I can't revert to a restore point because Vista can't find any (I made a manual one after installing windows updates on a couple of days ago).
I can run a command prompt from the system recovery options and would prefer to use that to disable the driver +if+ I knew how before resorting to the more drastic options.
A web search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous releases of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at give a solution that's available to me.

No joy with an external screen so I bit the bullet and reinstalled from the product recovery disk. I tried expert mode to retain the data partition but that failed twice, so I had to restore it from the previous day's backup after doing a full reinstall. Two consolations, though.
    # It allowed me to increase the size of the data partition.
    # The display driver update worked fine on the fresh install.
Needless to say I've since found [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927525] which describes how you can disable a problem device driver (atikmdag in my case) from the system recovery command prompt :-(
Hopefully the instructions in there will help anybody who gets caught with similar problems.

  • RM 900 remote doesn't work after driver update

    Hi!
After solving the proble of? "crackle, pops and noise" with a driver update for Audigy Platinum Ex, I see that my remote is no longer working, i've try reinstalling Remote Center from original drivers and applications CD and after a Volume Up or Down the Rear Left Speaker gives me no sound.
I've seen in others threads in the forum and they say about installing Media Source, but after installing it still doesn't work.
Any clue how to make it work again?
Using Windows XP SP3 and Audigy Platinum Ex.
    Thank you again in advance.
PD: Excuse my poor english, it's not my nati've language.

    Hello Jashue67,
Sorry to hear about all the trouble with the Apple TV.  It sounds like you have done a restore but need to pair your Apple TV remote at this point.  You can follow these steps to pair the remote:
Or, you can press and hold the Menu and Next/Fast-forward buttons on the white Apple Remote, or hold the Menu and right buttons on the aluminum Apple Remote, for 6 seconds to pair.
You can find the full article here:
Apple TV: Pairing and unpairing the Apple Remote

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Problems with Driver update =( Any advi

I recently was advised that I had to update my soundcard drivers in order for an application to run correctly. I was directed to www.creativelabs.com to download the proper drivers. after I downloaded the drivers and launched the update I promptly received a message that says the setup has failed to detect a supported product on my system. I then did a repair install to add any potentially missing information, but when I launched the setup again I received the same message. I have a regular old Audigy Soundblaster that I purchased from Wal-Mart, can anyone offer any advice or assistance? Here's my dxdiag:?------------------

  • Start up error and beats audio crackling after realtech driver update

    I am having several issues.
If I plug in a external hard drive, the OS will not start and goes to "press esc for start up menu" in lower left corner on a black screen. I press esc and it goes to boot options.  I have done what HP states and hard started my computer twice and it did not help, and I have found no other suggestion to try and fix this. I have tried everything, including a system recovery and it still goes to the start up menu options.  If I disconnect the external, it will still appear, but the operating system will start up after a few seconds.  Why do I have to disconnect my external to start OS.  And for some reason, my external has been seated in the hardrive section of my computer, instead of the removable storage devices in my computer.
Also, after updating realtech driver, my beats audio speakers pops and cracks. I tried to roll back driver, but no changes. Please help. I dont want to go thru the trouble of sending my computer back for repair. This is really upsetting!!!!  I cannot play any videos or music, because of the crackling.  Why did it do that, and is it fixable.  My laptop has not been jarred or dropped in any manner to have caused any damage.  It started after the driver update, and even tho I rolled back the driver, it still does this.

    Hi @rbuckner35 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 17t-f000  Notebook and issues with Beats Audio and startup issues. The startup looks at the USB as one of your Boot options. So it can not load anything until it know that this is not a boot device.
You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with the sound.
Here is a fix that has helped others.
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Audio Driver Update, Will not play audio via HDMI cable now...

I just did a driver update for the realtek audio on my Y70 touch.   When I plug the HDMI cable into the receiver (TV & speakers), it will still transfer the image to the TV and reformat the screen, but now the audio will not play unless I make the room speakers the default audio instead of the laptop speakers...   That is just a real PITA to keep switching the default every time I wanted to do something on the big screen with my computer. Any advice on how to fix that?  Preferably without rolling back the driver that was 130MB+ of a download & install that required to restarts to apply. Thanks,                Joe

I haven't had mine long but I always have to do that with my tower system. (switch playback device for sound). I played a movie on the Z70 last night and go audio without doing anything (so it is different) but the sound level was low even though I checked the outputs were set to 100% HDMI audio required I turn up the sound at the TV end a lot to hear it. I figure I am missing something but did not want to spend the time troubleshoot, rather tha watch the Netfix movie.

  • Time for a Video Driver Update -- 'M' Series

As you all may know (I'll re-state it here for those that do not) nVidia forces the user to go to their manufacturer (in this case Apple) for all graphic driver updates for the mobile 'M' graphic chips in laptops or lower end boxes.
What I am searching/looking for from Apple is a MUCH needed graphic driver update. And please... do not suggest that I browse through laptopvideo2go.com as I want APPLE to release an official graphic driver update.
I am running into an issue where many of the newer games I attempt to play under Bootcamp refuse to run or highly advise updating the graphic drivers because of known issues/problems.
When visiting the nVidia website (support section) I find that the newest release on thier drivers refuse to install because they must SPECIFICALLY come from Apple (in the case of my MBP).
So... Apple, how about showing us some loving and updating the nVidia drivers. This would be MUCH appreciated.

    Hi Xoraji,
It's not just Apple, that's a common practice for many laptop manufacturers. For example, my work laptop is a Gateway with an ATI chip and I can't use the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI's site, instead I have to use whatever drivers Gateway makes available, which haven't been updated in over 2 years.
I have a four years old Toshiba Notebook, for which the last ATI Graphics Driver Update from Toshiba was three years back.
I have used a modded ATI Driver package since then and no problem with it.
Luckily for me I don't have to rely on latest drivers, since the Notebook is only used for Business apps.
I agree with you, available video drivers need to be updated much more frequently than what is currently offered. I think 167.44 was the latest Nvidia driver officially released by Apple and that's pretty old by now.
    Right about that.

  • Video driver update prob

HP Pavillion p6610t pc. Intel g41 chipset, Intel graphics media accelerator x4500 [vga].
I need driver update for gaming. Per Intel support, my driver is customized and cannot be updated. Additionally a generic driver would cause issues. I will purchase a new card if that is my only option. Help.

I believe 250W is the norm for HP consumer PC's without discrete video cards.
Maybe they put in a 300W P/S when you get an add on card.
Here is a link to a very good card which folks say work in PC's with as low as 220W.

  • Audigy Drive Not Working (Audigy 2 ZS Platin

I've got an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.
I've used my Audigy Dri've before for recording stuff with my guitar and whatnot, and I've used my remote plenty. A long time ago my Dri've stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. After plugging and unplugging and driver uninstallation and reinstallation and driver updates and whatnot I cannot get the ****ed thing to work. Occasionally I would boot up and it would work just fine, then I'd reboot and it wouldn't.
I cant select Line-in 2 or any other port, they are non-existent in the volume levels window-thing, but appear when the dri've does decide to work.
I run the remote control program to select which remote or Dri've that is in use, but when the program starts, and a second or so goes by, it determines that it cannot connect to the Audigy Dri've and all the drop-down boxes get disabled and turn grey. the checkboxes at the top however still work. instead of turning gray and disabled when the dri've decides to work, it gives me options to choose from.
I just realized that when I first installed my drivers from the CD, I got an option to install using either the "Audigy ZS 2" or the "Audigy ZS 2 Platinum" and I'd check the appropriate box, but after uninstalling drivers, removing the audigy, booting to ensure all software and drivers are gone, shutting down, putting the hardware back in, booting, and installing the drivers again, I do not get the dialog box asking me to check either "Audigy ZS 2" or the Platinum.
My computer isn't detecting my Dri've. Why? and Why would it sometimes work and then refuse after rebooting? Loose connection? not a chance. Help!

If you'de be so kind, please scroll to the very top of this very page and read where it says "Customer Support Discussion Forums." Notice how "Discussion Forums" is a subcaregory of "Customer Support," and then notice the fact that the word "Support" is explicitly used. One could easily be leadto believe that these are Support forums -- hey, maybe that was intended.
If you need any more clarity than that, hover over that drop-down "Support" link in on the orange background at the top of this page. You see that link that says "Discusison Forums"? Guess what...
anyhoo, now that we're both done being jack asses, lets get friendly and get down to business. I was thinking in my head as I typed on about my long story that I should put in some system specs, but it sliped my mind. I appologize for that, I usually do. So here:
Tripple Booted Windows 98se, Windows 2000, Slackware Linux 0.2. The OS in question here is Win2k on an NTFS partition. two hard dri'ves (20gb and 80gb), Chaintech 9pjl2 motherboard, gig of ram on 4 256 sticks (who knows what brand, I really doulcn't care less), ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (like this should matter), Antec TruePower 550 watt, Acrylic Blue case (now I'm just losing focus) anyway, the most important stuff is there.
As I've mentioned before, I've reinstalled my drivers so many times that I cringe every time I hear the term. I'll do as you said with the links provided, and post here again later -- however, I doubt this will help anything. System Corrupted? err, thats a very broad term there, and I'm not sure what you mean by it. my machine and OSs work just fine, with this one exception.
Thanks for posting. :-)Message Edited by zeroth on 0-27-2005 07:43 PM
