Audigy LS not recognized, Audio Suite won't inst

I've had my Audigy LS for a few years and the EAX feature has been working fine most of the time. But recently, after not playing for awhile, San Andreas has become a bit screwed up, as well as some other games. I cannot hear sounds directly in front of me/my character. Things are loudest from the sides. I know EAX is supposed to simulate surround sound and environment noise (Which it does very well in Splinter Cell and Battlefield 2), but not being able to hear what's in front of me isn't good. I haven't been able to disable EAX because the Audio Suite won't install. When I try, it give me the message:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system.
Click the Retry button to re-detect your device and continue the installation.
Click the Cancel button to quit this installation and go back to your Windows desktop."
I can see Audigy LS in my device manager, it says it's "working properly", and it's set as the device for all my audio. So what's the problem? I also tried extracting the app's .exe, but to no avail (works for installing .NET 2.0). Please help.
Edit: I have installed the latest drivers from the downloads section, but no help.Message Edited by Brat_Boy on 0-9-200709:39 PM

  • Help:  encoder not recognizing audio in mpg

i have to convery a number of mpgs into flvs using flash's
video encoder. the mpgs have audio, however when i bring them into
the encoder, click on settings, and then click on the audio tab,
it's all grayed out like it's not recognizing it has audio.
anybody encounter this problem as well?
    thanks!

    Hi liscola,
I'm having similar issues with Flash's video encoder although
I have an MPEG file with audio that I'm converting to an FLV. I've
been using the 'Flash 8 - High Quality' setting. It starts encoding
    the file but then give me the following error;

I have looked into this and there are other posts indicating
that the encoder possibly can't format MPEGS with sound thats over
44kbps. Other people have suggested to convert the MPEG to AVI and
then to FLV but when I tried that is just reduced the quality of
    the video.
If there's anyone that can help with this issue I'd really
    appreciate it.
    Thanks Simon

  • "USB Device Not Recognized" Bubble/ Ipod won't connect to Windows

Whenever i connect my ipod to my computer the ipod goes to "do not disconnect" and a bubble pops up on my computer saying "USB DEvice Not Recognized" i have switched it to all of my usb ports and unplugged all usbs except for my mouse at the same time. this happens 95% of the time. my ipod does charge while connected and it has only connected to itunes once in the past 2 weeks. im not sure if it is itunes because it started around the time i updated to itunes 7. since it is a windows bubble though i think it is a windows or ipod problem and not itunes. i have a dell that isnt great but works fine.
    thanks for any help.
    ... Go TTU!

Make that two idiots. My roommate got a Sansa and I decided to try out the cable. Nothing happened. Now suddenly my nano isn't recognized by my computer. I'm glad I read your post, now I can stop looking high and low for a solution. Until this happened it worked good as new.

  • IPhone not recognized by iTunes, won't stay Off, etc

My iPhone started giving me an error message yesterday (happens about every 30 mins or so) that "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone"
The problem is nothing is connected to the iPhone! Additionally, whenever I connect the phone to my comp, iTunes fails to recognize it. So I can't do a Restore. In fact, it appears that the iPhone doesn't realize it is plugged in.
I was able to charge it from the wall charger last night, so I am pretty sure the connector "works."
Is there a way to reset the phone without using iTunes?
(Yes, I am the original owner. No, it is not jailbroken.)
    Thanks!

I am having a similar problem. I am attempting to install the airport extreme card in my ibook g4. The computer is not recognizing the card and now it isn't recognizing the iphone. If I remove the airport card then itunes recognizes the iphone. I have the original phone with the 2.01 update. I'm stumped.

I plugged n the GB Thunderbolt adapter in my 13" Air and it is not recognized.  Trying to install theTB  update I get the message that I need 10.7 but I am running 10.8.4.  Help!

    Hi,
I did install from the disk image you referenced and it worked. I still haven't been able to print wirelessly, but now that I have the correct PPD, I should be able to figure out the rest.
As for my OS, I misspoke. The PowerBook IS running 10.4.11. I work on a lot of different machines and sometimes I forget which was the latest build of the OS on the machine I'm working on at the time. Ah, the senior moments.
Anyway, thanks for pointing me to the download that solved the problem at hand. Now, on to the next issue ;-)

  • CD/DVD Problems w/7.3: Error 261 - DVD Backup & Not Recognizing Audio CDs

    Hello,
Since updating to iTunes 7.3 I have had issues with:
    1) iTunes recognizing an Audio CD - so I cannot currently import from CDs. This goes for Windows too in Windows Explorer; I get an I/O issue error
    2) iTunes making a backup DVD - I receive the iTunes error 261 with a fresh disk; however, my Picasa photo program quickly created a photo backup DVD.
Windows does successfully recognize a CD-ROM. Toshiba, my notebook manufacturer (Model M35-S456) does not recommend any chipset updates. I checked Intel's site (Chipset is 855PM - I/O controller is 82801DMB (ICH4M)) and it really seems like overkill to mess around with this since the issue appears linked to install iTunes 7.3.
I have followed troubleshooting suggestions and submitted my diagnostics (to assisting Apple determine drives that are having problems) at the following post - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93444

  • Adobe Media Encoder not recognizing audio

I have MXF file I need to encode on a daily basis, but AME shows there is not audio in the files. QuickTime plays (and exports) the files great with audio (showing the audio as 16-bit integer big endian) Anyway I can force AME to recognize the audio?

This is at a Television Station. Shows and Promos are digitally delived to the station in a multitude of formats to our "Master Control". They have a server that recieves the files and flips them (via Flipfactory Telestream) into a format our main HD playout server uses to playout to air. The output setting for this process can not be changed (might change in the future?).
I need the promos that these companies send. So I have to grab the flipped files from our "Master Control". The raw files that were sent are not a playable (for me) format. I can "flip" them manually using Quicktime, but I would like to be able to set up watch folders that AME can use to grab the various promos and flip them as they are recieved.
    Hope this all makes sense...

  • Ipod not recognized by iTunes, won't update

My 4thGen ipod suddenly isn't being recognized by itunes. I've trying resetting, no help. I get an "ipod needs formatted" window, so when I try to run the ipod updater, the ipod still isn't recognized. But in MyComputer, it is recognized as "e drive".
I recently bought a new laptop and had everything moved from the old one and the ipod was synching perfectly, but this just started happening. I think the only thing that changed since my last synching was I installed Norton Antivirus.
    Thanks for the help...

A connection problem, it seems. Have you tried to disable Norton AntiVirus just to see if it helps?
I also suggest you charge your iPod fully (using an iPod AC charger) before connecting it to your laptop.

  • MSI GT60 - 2OD - Audio problems, Laptop not recognizing audio jacks and speakers

I tried to redirect the sound from my TV to the laptop in order to use my bluetooth headset.
It worked, but after turning my tv off, I continued using the headset normally.
But when I turned off my headset, the speakers stopped working and the laptop doesnt recognize any áudio inputs.
I already unninstalled the drivers, even installed my Win 8 from scratch, but nothing seems to work.
Does anybody have an idea of what is going on, or how i can fix it?

Latest driver version, I downloaded through the MSI website.
This is the first time that something like this has happened, the line is isn't set as default.
And also, when I open the Realtek HD Audio Manager, all the jacks are grayed,
At least my bluetooh headset still works.

For some reason, when I import an h264 .mp4 video clip into my bin (via dragging it from a Finder window), then place it on my timeline, there's no audio. Same goes for export. I know for a fact that the source file did have audio; what am I doing wrong?

  • New classic not recognized(?) and won't sync

Recently lost my original classic 80gb and bought a used one on Ebay to replace it.  Just connected it to iTunes.  (It was cleared by previous owner - had nothing on it.)  When I connected it to my PC, the driver installed and iTunes opened.  In iTunes only "Lisa's iPod" is listed.  This is the designation given to my old iPod. I was surprised that it didn't ask me about a new iPod or something.  I attempted to sync. The first time, though I got error messages about several individual songs not being synced, it did tell me that the sync had finished. When I checked the ipod though, only a handful of songs was on it.  I tried it again with the same result.  When I selected Lisa's iPod (the only one listed in the devices), it showed that there were 3976 songs occupying 29.86gb of space. But  when I clicked on "On this iPod" it showed only 122 songs...suggesting that "this iPod" was different from "Lisa's iPod" despite only having "Lisa's iPod" listed as a selectable device.  The third time I tried to sync it, I got an error message which said, " The ipod "Lisa's iPod" cannot be synced.  An unknown error has occurred. (-1303)." When I disconnect the new ipod "Lisa's iPod" disappears from the iTunes list....it shows no iPod connected.  Only options "Open iTunes automatically when ipod is connected" and "Enable disc use" are checked. I'm using iTunes version 11.1.5.5.  I'm completely baffled.  Suggestion?

UPDATE:  I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes.  I still got a bunch of different error messages whilte trying to sync but now when I click on "On this iPod" it says there are 407 songs on it.  But when I look at the song list on the actual iPod, there's only 101 songs.
I use my iPod for work and REALLY need this to work.  No one has any ideas?

  • Audigy Drive on Audigy Platinum Not Recogni

I have a custom built (read, I built it myself) AMD 2200 XP with GB Ram and a 420 W Power Supply. It has a Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultimate Platinum motherboard. I have had it up and running for about 2 years and the Audigy Platinum Sound Card works beautifully. However, I have NEVER been able to get Windows XP Pro to recognize the Audigy Dri've that goes in the 5.25 in. Dri've Bay. It hasn't been a big deal, because my computer has been out of it's cubby hole for the last two years for various other reasons. However, I now want to put it where it belongs and would like to get it working before I put it away. The cables are all hooked up right. I have tried fi've different connections from my power supply and still can't get any indication of power being supplied to it or get XP Pro to see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Russ

    Falcondfw,
Since you have tried multiple power adaptors one thing to check would be to see if the Red Light on the optical out (after removing the cover that is) ever comes on. If it doesn't then it is most likely a hardware problem and you will want to have the dri've repaired. This can be arranged by contacting Technical Support, here is the page that has their contact information:

  • ITunes not recognizing iPod, now won't reinstall

    I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
I got a new iPod touch for Christmas to replace my old one, I plugged it in my labtop and it synced fine, I plugged it in a few days ago and it tried to install the device driver, which it did unsuccessfully. I was advised to reinstall iTunes and it's components, I uninstalled everything after about 3 hours of work, since Apple Mobile Device Support was almost impossible to get off my computer, even after removing with the Windows Install CleanUp it was still running on my computer and I couldn't delete it.
I then reinstalled iTunes, and it didn't work saying it couldn't open the keys or something, so I uninstalled again and reinstalled, then it didn't install Apple Application Support because I had the error where I needed to install it to run iTunes, I then manually installed it, and iTunes still wouldn't recognize my iPod.
I uninstalled again, and now when I try to install it the installer does a roll back and tells me "the installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured and my system has not been modified."
Can anyone help me? I just want to sync my iPod.

Sounds like there is a problem with the headphone jack.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.  Apple will only exchange you iPod for a refurbished one for:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Ther are third-party places that will preplace the jack.  Here is one.  Google for more.

  • New iPod touch issues. not recognizing in iTunes

i just got a new ipod touch and installed everything and itunes will not recognize the ipod. I went on support and tried what it said by holding down the sleep button and the home button at the same time until the apple appeared and then closing out of itunes and opening it up and plugging the ipod back in which helped it to recognize. the ipod then went into recovery mode and said it needed to be restored. Restoration began however, the connect ipod to itunes screen disppeared leaving a lit up and black screen and a window appeared in the "preparing ipod for restoration" stage that said "ipod could not be restored. an unknown error occured (1604). any ideas? oh and then the thing on the side that said ipod disappeared and it stopped recognizing the ipod again.

    Welcome to the discussions,
Error 1604 points at a problem with your USB drivers/connection.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the USB 30-pin dock-connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
