Audigy recognized as "multimedia audio device

System specs:
Msi k8t800 Neo-fsi2r
amd 64 3k+
nv 6800oc
gig ocz 3200
I also have a 3com nic card which is tested working fine
and... my soundblaster audigy gamer.
The card worked fine before, my mother board went sour so I bought another and now the card will not install. Windows detects it as a multimedia audio device with no other specific label. Windows also does not install the drivers, when I attempt to install automatically it does not find any compatible drivers.. I have attemped the drivers from the site. My card is retail. Does the ac97 onboard 5. conflict with these cards somehow? I would just use that but its garbage and doesn't work even half way. I have also tried other pci slots, nothing..
Note: When I got my new motherboard the nvram was not detecting, still isn't. May just be the battery but would this cause any problems with my card not being recognized?...
Enfurno

I have the same problem.
K8N Neo Platinum
Athlon64 3000+
52 Kingston DDR400
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum eX
I have disabled the AC97 Onboard Audio in the BIOS. I have tried all the remaining PCI slots on my MB. I keep getting the generic "multimedia audio device" and "PCI input device" notifications when I reboot. I have tried completely uninstalling all audio drivers.
When I try to install SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303 I get the following message:
"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy 2 on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly
installed before running this Setup program.
Setup will now exit."
Could there be a problem with the onboard ID on the audio card itself? Is there any way to test for and/or remedy this?
Thanks in advance for any help... I've been messing with this for too long with no answers

  • USB Audio Device Not Recognized by Stream 7 tablet

Half the reason I bought the Stream 7 was to use it has a music player with my iBaso D2 USB Audio DAC Headdphone Amp.
The device is recognnized by my Win 8.1 desktop and every other computer I've plugged it into.  Why it is not recognized as an audio playback device is beyond me.  I've tried all of the suggestions that I've been able to find on the net without any luck.  Is therte some reason why this function has been disabled on the Strwea 7?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Problem Solved!
It turned out to be a combination of the usb cable and the OTG USB hub.  On my desktop the iBaso was cable specific as to the device being recognized.  When I tried the working cable witht the OTG hub on the Stream 7 it failed as usual.  But when I tried the cheap monoprice adapter it worked.
The usb audio solves the horrible sound problem with the Stream 7 for anybody who is lookiing for a Fix.
The OTG hub works with a mouse and  a mSata drive perfectly but not with the iBAso DAC.
Thanks to everyone who replied for keeping me trying.

  • Win XP finds no audio device after installing Audigy 2

After installing Audigy 2 ZS, my Windows XP could no longer identify an audio device. Under Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, clicking on the Audio tab, there is no Default Device for playback or whatsoever.
However, under the Hardware tab, Audigy 2 ZS is visible and seems to work fine. The only suspicious part I caught is that when I check for Properties of Audigy 2 ZS and go down to check Properties of Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM), the status shows "The di'ver is enabled but has not been started." I have no idea how this can be fixed.
The integrated sound card is turned off in the BIOS.
I've tried all possible ways to install, uninstall, install..., but just couldn't get XP to work properly. Any other possible solutions out there?
    Many thanks!

Solved after reinstalling Win XP. Wasted too much time on trying other possible solutions.
Hope other people may learn something out of it.

  • Smart Recorder - Audigy 2 ZS - Win 7 - "no audio device available"

LSmart Recorder - Audigy 2 ZS - Win 7 - "no audio device available"nI've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and a Creative Audigy 2 ZS. They've worked fine together, but I recently tried to install the programs that come on the CD and I can't get Smart Recorder to work.
It has a message saying "There is no audio device available on the system. The application will now close."? I checked my control panel and it definitely shows a my Audigy 2.
I found an old post that suggested using the CTZAPXX.EXE on the CD, but it didn't do anything. I watched the CPU go to 50% usage, but nothing happened for minutes. (http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/Speaker-settings/m-p/40229)
How can I fix this problem with Smart Recorder?
    Thanks,

Is it time to upgrade to X-Fi or another brand?

Audigy shares IRQ with IDE controller and firewire controller. This is not good.
NOTE: I suppose you're running your PC on "Standard PC" -mode (since IRQ's >5 not showing). If so, you can try to assign IRQ for the PCI slot, Audigy is installed, manually from BIOS. See your motherboard manual page 4-26.
Can you check if your PC is running as "Standard PC" and not as "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" (Device Manager --> Computer). Make it "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" --> you get more IRQs (virtual) in use.
NOTE: You may need to reinstall OS to get this done.
Also you may need to enable APIC mode on BIOS.
    How To:
    A) Go to 'Device Manager' a short cut to get there is "Right Click" on the My computer Icon on your desktop (Control Panel --> System --> Hardware),
    B) Next click on 'Computer', then double click on 'Standard PC'. Then select 'Driver' and then 'Update Driver'.
    C) At this point you will see a screen pop up asking you to do this "Automatically" or Select 'Display a list of the known drivers for this device', - Choose this option.
    D) Next you will see - 'Show all hardware of this device class'. Now you can select "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" in the list shown in the window to the right.
    E) Now Windows needs/will re-start and re-install all hardware/ settings needed to run in this configuration.

  • Audigy 2ZS: "No Audio Device&qu

Some of the time, I get sound perfectly fine. At seemingly random times, however, I lose sound completely in most programs. The only place I can hear sound is using Winamp and the DirectSound mixer.
When I go to the sound control panel in Windows, it says "no audio device" and most options are greyed out. My sound card device is still listed in the hardware manager, however, and the drivers are updated and listed as running fine.
If I restart my computer, I get sound again until it randomly goes silent.
    Here are my system specs:
Windows XP SP2 Media Center edition
    Audigy 2 ZS
    DFI Lanparty motherboard

My wife has the same issue.
Might be related to the new install of a Logitech Quickcam Pro 500, or games download from "Real Arcade" service.
randomly, sound from certain applications goes dead.
    PC is winXP SP 2
dxdiag (direct x is 9.0c) sound testing fails - you hear no sound, and the dxdiag then shows an error message.
In addition, some SB audigy applications now show certain sound devices missing.
Still trying to get to the bottom of this, will post details.

  • Mini and osx no longer recognizing firewire audio device

i have an m-audio firewire solo hooked up to my mini, which is just a simple firewire instrument interface. i went to bed last night and everything was working fine. woke up this morning and the sounds is now coming from the internal speak, not my stereo. nothing is wrong with the firewire port because its still lighting up and running, but osx is telling me there is no m-audio device connected to the computer. i tried to reinstall the software but that did nothing. should i try to completely uninstalling the software and then reinstall? i also installed m-audios upgrade about a week ago but had no problems up until now. if none of this works, should i strat wondering about a potential virus and possibly formating the hard drive?
    any help is certainly appreciated

I have a similar device. A fresh install of the device may help.
For my device the manual says to turn off all power saving settings. Do not let the computer go to sleep, not the screen, not the hard disc, not anything.
That is probobly unrelated to the computer not recognising it.
    It's not a virus.
Make another user account in the System Preferences. Log out of your account and into the newly created one. Does it work?
If you still have no luck, run the apple hardware test with the discs that came with the computer. A simple search can tell you how to do it.

  • Multimedia Audio Controller Er

For some reason after I formatted my hard dri've, the sound card isn't recognized. There is no little speaker in the system tray and no sound options at all. I don't have the driver cd. The model number is sb0220. It is a Sound Blaster Li've 5. Digital. What do i do to get rid of the error and have sound? Thank you.

I realize that this is an old post but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction... I was trying to clean up my add/remove programs and i had meant to hit the one above but some how i got rid of the Multimedia Audio Controller ... I have SoundBlaster Audigy 2. this card was installed because the computer had come with a sound card built in on the motherboard and kid broke off the end of the plug in the headset/speaker thingie.
I cannot find my disks (we moved since I instlaled and cant find a blessed thing). How do I get this device working again... Right now its showing up under other devices with big ? ... says Multimedia Audio Controller.
On my add/remove list it shows the CREATIVE MEDIASOURCE (which was RIGHT below the accidentally removed item) and then much further down I see that SOUND BLASET AUDIGY 2 is still installled. In my Device Manager I have listed the following (Somebelong to that sound card on the motherboard I am sure)
    Audio Codecs
    Intel(r)8280BA/BAM AC97 Controller
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    Legacy Videio Capture Devces
    Media Control Devices
    Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
    Video Codec
PLEASE tell me how to get this Multimedia Audio Controller reinstalled so I can again use my SB Audigy 2 card (since I cant use the other with that darn plug stuck inside). I have tried to upgrade the SB Audigy 2 drivers but that didnt seem to work.
I would be most grateful to whomever may be able to help me with this problem!

  • "No audio device" in Windows 7 !

    + ?
Well, I use winXP-Pro in dual-boot with Win7-Build 700, both 32bits, and I get an Audigy SE that works great in XP.
Although, in Win 7? there?s no sound device, "No audio devices are installed" error, and no-sound icons in Device Manager.
Tried?the lastest ?"Win 7" drivers from www.soundblaster.com, but none find the Audigy.
How can I fix this ?

/Re: "No audio device" in Windows 7 !? If you haven't give this a try,
    http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-P7X-Series-Support-Pack-2-0-07-3-2009-AudigySE-Value-LS/td-p/53329
If that still doesn't work try to manually force the driver. This will only work (and not always) if the card is at least showing up in Device Manager; either by name, or as "unknown multimedia controller". First extract the above downloaded file, then open Device Manager and locate the card.
-right click on select update driver
    -then select "browse my computer"
    -next select "let me pick"
-next click on "have disk", then click on Browse and navigate to the "Drivers\vista" (or possibly Win7, not sure on this as I don't have the file) and point it to the P7. INF file.
that should get the driver to install. If it does then you should be able to re-run the above and get whatever apps from it you want installed.

  • Help With Multimedia Audio Controller Driver For XP Pro

    Hello,
    Please help!!!
I am trying to locate the Multimedia Audio Controller Driver for XP Pro for an MSI 645 ULTRA (A6547MS) Motherboard.  The audio device is integrated into the motherboard and Windows XP Pro is not recognizing the device.
I have tried looking at MSI Support Website but am unable to identify which is the correct driver package to use.
I would also like to know if there are any related WinXP Supplement driver package needed for this motherboard.

Did you do a clean installation of XP or you only use the upgrade function?
I recommend you to do clean installation if you didn't.

  • Multimedia Audio contrlloler is not installed properly due to an exclamation mark in front of it.

    Hi,
I have a Windows XP SP3(32Bit) installed on a Desktop Computer with a PIII processor, and 512MB of RAM.
My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the Intel  Audio Card Reader a web-based applet that identifies my Audio Card and finds the latest audio
    driver for my Audio adapter.
I have Multimedia Audio contrlloler driver installed improperly since an exclamation mark is shown in front  of it in the device manager.
    This is Hardware ID (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24D5&SUBSYS_97611849&REV_02).
I have tried to download the driver from
    here:
However, I don't know which one of them I should download since there are
quite a lot of them, and there aren't classified as to 32-Bit, and 64-Bit versions of Windows Systems.
Thus, could you please help me to decied which one I could choose.

    Hi,
It seems to be a soundMAX card in which case this file should work for you - http://www.mediafire.com/download/lo5nyw2utm2/SoundMAX_Audio_V510X6480_XP.zip
** Note, this file has not been tested by me personally - Please ensure you scan with AV post and prior extracting the ZIP, If it does not look right, do not install **
Its next to impossible to find vendor sites with the original drivers for this age of hardware.

    Thanks a lot,

According to the screen shots above, the Hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24D5..
The vendor ID of Multimedia Audio Controller  is 8086 and the device ID is

I WAS EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE  DRIVER. HOWEVER, NEITHER YOU, NOE ME FOUND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER.

I have tried downloading, and installing a soundMAX card  driver. However, I found these things:
I have checked the other Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is oder installed, and it seems it infected by some viruses.

  • How do I use 2 Core Audio devices at the same time in Logic w/out switching

Hello, I use the Aardvark Direct Mix usb3 as my audio interface for mic and guitar. I just upgraded to Logic Pro 7 today and was hoping someone could tell me how I could use the Built-in Audio Core Audio driver along with the Direct Mix USB Core Audio Driver at the same time without having to switch Core Audio Driver's and than rebooting Logic. It is very frustrating doing that as well as not being able to hear my Logic audio during playback/record mode when I am trying to record via the USB3. WHat can I do? Thanks! If ther are both core audio, why can I not just use both of them at the same time? Why must a switch back and forth? Thanks!
    [email protected]

THanks everyone! awsome article! Thanks for posting it, nh!
The weird thing is, once I go up to the Menu and select Open Aggregate Device Editor in the AUDIO/MIDI setup utility and try to add a new Aggregate Device setup (step # 6 from the link), the only audio device available is the "Built-in Audio". What's weird is when I have the main Audio MIDI Setup utility open, every single drop-down menu/tab has the "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1" device right beneath the "Built-in Audio" option. To me that says that the core audio device is indeed recognized by my computer (obviously since I can record with it using Logic). Can anyone help me with this one? Any suggestions?
Not that it should matter but, the hardware audio interface that I am using is made by the no-longer-existant company once known as Aardvark. I actually had to purchase a third party Core Audio driver just to have it recognized by OS X.
This is the website where I purchased my audio driver :
    http://www.usb-audio.com/
A little more on how this device and it's core audio driver function within Logic . . . (Hopefully this might clarify something I may be screwing up) . . .
I launch Logic with its default Built-in Audio which allows playback of audio from the app. I than go up to Audio Hardware and Drivers and than drop the flip down Driver menu down to the second option, "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1." Logic than prompts me that I should try to (re)launch Logic Pro to load the appropriate CoreAudio.. I do that. Now I am ready to record guitar through the Direct Mix USB3, I just can't hear anything (unless I use head phones as an output from the Direct Mix).
Anyway, you all probably already knew what I meant so explaining that was pointless. But my question is, if the Driver is obviously recognized by my comp in both the Audio MIDI Setup and in Logic, than why won't the Direct Mix device show up as a possibility for setting up an aggregate device? Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • MY "No Audio device detected" Solut

Before I begin, I would like to say if this doesn't help you out I am sorry. My goal is for this method to at least help out one person, if so I would feel content in passing on what had worked for me to this community. I would like to also mention my card worked fine on my Win XP setup but after i switched back to XP i started getting errors such as "...audio device supported not detected..." whenever i would try to use the mediasource applications or even do the driver update for my Audigy 2 ZS card. Here is the method that finally worked for me, because there is no way i was going to go through the minatinous job of having to test different pci slots to get this card to work.
. I did a cleansweep of my audio drivers, directions for different operating systems can be found at this url ( http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=ww_english,Company={CEAE26D-879-4C00-AC9F-03BC258F7B70},VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com,case=72 ) once you reboot your system after the end of the cleansweep it will locate your card automatically ignore the found new hardware prompts pertaining to your soundcard by pressing cancel on it (or them if you have more than one prompt) and go on to step 2.
    2. After that i did a normal cd installation for my audigy 2 zs card installing both regular drivers and the mediasource applications (just to make sure). After the installation finalized I was asked to reboot again which should be done at this point.
    3. Once windows loaded back up It located my soundcard and I was presented with the "Found New Hardware" prompts again. At this time for each prompt that came up I picked that I wanted to choose where to find the correct files which i believe is the Recommended choice by Windows which was one of two choices in this area. From there it takes you to another screen where there are checkboxes to choose where you want windows to search for the correct file(s). I chose for both of my found new hardware prompts (if you have more than one, they will show after you finish off the the first one...meaning you will do this procedure more than one time because they will only come up one at a time) for it to search my CD Dri've which still had my creative disc in it so it could search the CD for the correct files (and it should find them).
    Then
I proceeded to do a manual install of the drivers as well (yes im installing over an installation, it sounds stupid i know..but it worked for me) by exploring the CD and running the program located in the Audio/Drivers folder called CTZAPXX.exe (CDDRIVE:\Audio\Drivers\CTZAPXX.exe). Make sure the Update Option selected is Driver Installation and the Driver Type is WDM Drivers and also i checked "Overwrite existing shared Creative audio driver files". Then just click OK and click through any warnings that may come up telling the program you want to proceed still. Once that is done it will ask you to reboot again, at this time you may do so.
    4. After Windows loads up this time i have my driver update ready which is located here ( http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ ) according to card type and operating system (since peoples configurations differ this is something that will have to be searched for independently). Normally when i would just click this file to update my drivers it would unpack and then give me the infamous "...audio device supported not detected..." error but after those steps i took, it actually worked for me and went into the installation. Then i believe it asks for another reboot i might be mistaken but after that good sign of it actually installing all my applications work without a problem now; and everything seems perfectly fine for the time being
Sorry for being long winded, but again if you are a person stuck in this rut or just now have encountered this problem and have tried almost everything, this could be worth a try. • Multimedia Audio Controller, and Video Controller(VGA compatible) are missing on Windows XP(32Bit) SP3

    Hi.
My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card  with 256MB of RAM)
Also, My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter is installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the pc scan utility, or  Reader a web-based applet that identifies my GPU or Audio controller
and finds the latest graphics driver for my GPU, and Audio.
I have two Windows XP installations:
Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems it infected by some viruses.
I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have two devices not detected well by Windows XP.
First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed well,
and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and RAID
    Host Controller in device manager.
First:  Yes, my motherboard has integrated video, and integrated audio card
According to the screen shots above, then
The vendor ID of Multimedia Audio Controller  is 8086 and the device ID is
    24D5.
The vendor ID of Video Controller  is 8086 and the device ID is
    2572.
I AM EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE  DRIVER. HOWEVER, I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER.
Thus, could you please help me to find them?
I have tried installing a soundMAX card  driver, however, I found this error.
I have checked the other Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is oder installed, and it seems it infected by some viruses.
However, the Multimedia Audio on that Windows is installed well. As here: I only posted these screen shots to show what kind of device is Multimedia Audio Card
