Audigy SE Onboard Iss

I just built a new PC. I used the MSI K9N Diamond motherboard, which comes with an Audigy SE card. I have a 5. speaker system, and I'm having unbelievable amounts of trouble with the card.
Basically, the Creative software (Surround Mixer, Speaker Settings etc. that all come up on that bar at the top of the screen) doesn't recognise the speakers at all. I get sound out of the two front speakers, but nothing from the rear ones or the subwoofer. When I try and open Speaker Settings I get
"The audio device supported by this application is not detected."
What do I do? I enclose my specs below if it will help:
OS: Vista Ultimate
Proc: AMD 64 FX X2 5200+ 2.6 GHz

I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

    BIZAARE Microphone issues
    Hi,
First of all thanks in advance to anybody who can help me with this problem. Not even the computer shop near me were able to pin this issue down for me so I?d be really grateful to anyone can offer me support.
I have an nvidia n680i mobo and I use the onboard sound card to work my mic. The other day however it suddenly stopped working. I updated my motherboard driver and this didn?t fix the problem. The problem was at first intermittent; when I rebooted it would come back on but the all of a sudden it would turn off.
To try and quickly resolve the issue I bought an AUDIGY SE and plugged it in, but amazingly I had the same problem.
Let me tell you a few incidents to see if it helps pin the problem down. I started the machine and my mic worked (I could see the green bar going up and down in ?sound? in control panel. I unplugged the mix and plugged it in a few times and it still worked. I then plugged in a different headset(one more comfortable) and it stopped working?!?! I also rebooted and got it to work another time, but then when I launched a program (Call of Duty 4 to be precise) it stopped working again.
I just cannot figure out what the issue could be when I have technically bypassed the motherboard by putting a new soundcard in.
The cause of the problem is so hard to pin down.
Is there any advice anyone can offer me?
I?m running on vista home premium 32bit, 2 gig ram, nvidia nforce 680i mobo with an e660 oc?d to 3.2ghz.
    Thanks,
    Anthony.

  • Incompatibility between Audigy SE onboard and Inspire T7900 7.

Hello?I have bought the Creative Inspire T7900 7. speakers. I have a motherboard MSI K8N Diamon Plus with Audigy SE on board? My side satellites don't work !!!?I mention that:- I have the latest audio XP drivers for my on board audio- the cables are in the right positions- the soft settings are put on 7.- the CMSS is on- in my motherboard help book I saw a drawing (schematics) where for an 8 channel sound (7.) you have to have 4?jacks which?will be connected to?the audio board- the cable from Creative, which connects the sub (amplif) with the PC, has only 3?jacks?for the PC end

Disconnect the grey audio cable from the speaker subwoofer and grab a piece of 3.5mm minijack stereo cable. Connect one end of the stereo cable to the audio port on the speaker that you have just disconnected and the other end to your onboard audio side audio jack.

  • Audigy Gamer driver iss

I cannot get the latest drivers for the Audigy Gamer (E400) to work correctly with my card no matter what I do. I'm running off a clean WinXP install with SP2. I installed AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, then updated my AudioHQ, then installed AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe. Upon installation I get sound, my mixer works, and AudioHQ works (EQ, ENV, FX presets all funciton). But when any game attempts to use EAX, I get no sound. If I alt-tab out of the game, and load AudioHQ, all of my ENV, EQ, and FX settings are blank. As soon as I exit the game, AudioHQ returns to normal and my sound returns. I've tried updating drivers every way possible, and nothing's changed. I have to use old drivers, and the old drivers produce very poor EAX effects, if any, but they are the only drivers that actually function fully.
    System Specs:
    MSI KT3 Ultra2 (Via KT333)
    AthlonXP 800+
    52 MB PC2700
    40 GB WD 7200RPM
    40 GB Maxtor 7200RPM
    Audigy Gamer (E400)
    MSI GeForce 3 Ti 200
    DirectX 9.0c
    Windows XP Professional w/SP2
If there is anybody out there who has gotten this card to work correctly, i'd very much appreciate your guidance. The lack of driver support on this card is pathetic to say the least, and it does not give me any encouragement to ever purchase a Creative Labs card again. I know there are ways to use Audigy 2 drivers with this card, but i'd like to first hear if there are any real fixes for this card.
    Thanks for any help!

    Avenger55,
The problem that you are dealing with here is that the original driver CD you have predates Windows XP. It is possible to get the CD install to work under XP by doing what we discussed earlier, however it appears there may be a third detail that is causing the trouble here. I noticed that you are running a VIA chipset, are you running the latest version of the Hyperion 4 in drivers? If not you should go to www.viaarena.com and get the update. The newest drivers should work with your system without trouble as long as the system is up to date.
You might also consider ordering our latest install CD for the Audigy as it contains the latest drivers for the Audigy along with all of the updated software. You can order it from our Direct Sales department who can be contacted at -800-998-000 option #.

  • Audigy SE + Vista Iss

I just bought a new Audigy SE because my old Li've and integrated sound weren't well supported in Vista. However, I'm still having issues.
Things seem to work okay on the desktop with the latest drivers, but I've tried playing Bioshock and Crysis and both have issues. Crysis stutters and pauses every few seconds, while Bioshock has a lot of crackles and pops.
Disabling the sound card fixes the stuttering in Crysis. Both games work fine in XP.
What gives? How can I fix this?

Download the updated drivers from Creative Support (or lateset WHQL drivers from http://www.station-drivers.com/)to your PC and try install them by running the CTZAPXX.EXE (found on the \Drivers\support\i386 -folder of your driver pack.
If didn't get drivers installed using that method, then goto HERE and follow the instructions.

  • Audigy 4 calibration iss

Along with the Creative Audigy 4, I bought the Logitech Z-5300e speaker system. When I try to calibrate the speakers the computer will freeze up. It will also make a high pitched sound from the speakers. It has done this while playing America's Army as well. Other than that the system is awesome!

The EAX Console, Speaker Settings and Mixer all came in the product CD. You must install them from the CD.

  • Audigy 2 platinum iss

Sup everyone. Ive been having some issues w/ my audigy 2 platinum for a few weeks now. Ive had my card a few years and its been running well until recently. Then it started clicking and popping for no apperent reason. It clicks non stop, wether audio is running or not. I have noticed it stops when i mute the volume though but i cant get it to stop otherwise. It comes out of the speakers from the PCI card as well as from my headphones that I have plugged into the breakout box SIMULTAINOUSLY. I read the "read before posting" and have tried Clean install of the drivers, etc..as well as check all the hardware connections, blowing out the dust w/ compressed air etc. Is it just time for a new soundcard? Im running XP, w/ 52 MB of ram, older AGP radion graphics card and a .3 processor. Any other suggestions to try would be most appreciated, thanks,
    Brandon.
PS What is the AVG life for this card? Thanks again.Message Edited by grukid on 09-26-2006 06:00 PM

    **update**
I went and bought a new optical cable to see if the one I was using wasn't good enough and that was just a waste of 20 bucks.. Still nothing, I hope some one around here can tell me if they have the problem I do with any of your sound blaster cards.. I'm starting to think that maybe my card has just poofed on me. I don't think thats the case because everything else works fine.. I read also where the bit stream tab will show up as invalid signal with dolby/dts even though it's working correctly. I was thinking thats the case because like I said, the dolby digital logo pops up when My PS3 sends audio to my audigy card..Message Edited by NeutralGold on 09-8-200708:36 PM

  • SB Audigy Value CMSS Successfully Enabled in Vista, if you call it CMSS

I've been trying to enable CMSS (at least hear sound from all of the 4 speakers) for a long time and finally successed but in a very strange way.
Steps written below are spesific to my system (SB Audigy Value, Onboard Realtek ALC 850) but can? work similar way on others i guess. For SB Audigy Value 6 Feb. Vista drivers are installed. U can use old XP drivers as explained in the forum too.
I've been using my onboard audio device (realtek ac97) since I can't enable cmss on SB Audigy Value, so Realtek AC97 audio drivers were installed on my system. You can download Realtek AC97 audio drivers? from [url=ftp://202.65.94.22/pc/audio/623_Vista_APO.zip">ftp://202.65.94.22/pc/audio/623_Vista_APO.zip[/url]
Download and install it (first enable the device from bios if you haven't)
    After installing the drivers,
-) Open "Playback Devices/Speakers(Realtek A'97 Audio)/Properties" window and open "Enhancements" tab.
2-)There's a "Speaker Fill" effect there. U can take sound from all speakers if u enable it on Realtek AC97 device. And let's import this to our SB Audigy Value device. I say "Import" because i noticed that?"Enhancements" tab is actually a set of registry entries which points to some features from Realtek device. So,
3-) Open registry editor. Go to
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render\
Under the Render key the playback devices are listed as some numbers and letters like,
    {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}
4-) U have to find your own device (realtek speakers) , for instance my device is represented by {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}.
(This is for Realtek ALC 850 model, may be different for other models?I guess)
5-) Under {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d} key you can see "FxProperties" Key. Rightclick on it and export to a file. Save it as RealtekCMSS.reg for instance.
6-) Then find your SB Audigy Value Speakers device. (ES/LS whatever...)
    Mine is {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6}.
7-) Rightclick on it and select "Permissions"
Go to Advanced/Owner, and change the owner to administrators.
(Don't forget to select "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects)
8-) On "Permissions for {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6}" window select "Administrators"
and select "Full Control" to allow. Then click OK.
9-)Close registry editor and open RealtekCMSS.reg in notepad.
    0-) Replace {50a7cf0-aad0-444c-a56b-ce655444d}
    ????to {5ecbbccc-eca-446-aa2-a7390cf094f6} using replace function.
-)Save the file as SBAudigyCMSS.reg and execute it.
    2-)Now go to
"Playback Devices/Speakers(SB Audigy)/Properties" and you'll see "Enhancements" tab.
3-)In "Enhancements" tab enable "Speaker Fill"
Open an mp3 and test your speakers. Other effects work too.
From now on you can disable your AC97 device from bios. But don't uninstall Realtek software.

The previous post is inaccurate:? CMSS includes many modes, which will work depending on the speaker configuration. This means that CMSS set?to ON on 5. speakers is not the same as CMSS on Headphones. The selection is done automatically, depending on your selected speaker configuration. For example CMSS on headphones uses HRTFs to produce the effect, while on multi-speaker systems it simply maps and pans the sound. From my experience, CMSS works?good on headphones, not only for games, but for music as well. It expands the soundfield, where on simple stereo and headphones you normally hear the sound inside your head. My opinion is, that CMSS sounds much better on headphones than on speaker systems.

  • Onboard gf2 & agp card at once possible?

    -
I've been searching all day for some words that will confitm or deny I can get video from both the onboard video and a rage fury pro in the agp slot.  Win ME works fine with the GF2 when no agp card is plugged in but the GF2 disapears from device manager when I plug in the rage fury card.
Could be a stupid question but as this mainboard is the first I've ever owned with onboard video I donno this agp slot is for...  I've found no relevent posts on the subject so it must be common sense.
Failing that I'll accept ideas for what to use this rage fury card for (drill a hole through it and make it into a clock.?.)
    Thanks for any helpful words,
      Radioactive Warrior
    +K7N420 Pro
    +Athlon XP 1800+
+Sound Blaster Audigy (no front panel controls with this model) both the Audigy and onboard APU are active.
+ATI Rage Fury Pro (If I get both it and the onboard GF2 to cooperate) w/vivo
+40GB W.D. (three bootable partitions: WinME, Win2000, WinXP)
+40GB Maxtor (almost full of software)
    +12x DVD-R
    +8x CD-RW
+Wacom USB tablet (best input device I've ever used!)
    +Eliminator Aftershock (USB gamepad)
+Alcatel SpeedTouch USB (ADSL modem, the one that looks like a stingray)
+LexMark Z23 printer (yeah, the cheap one)

The AGP bus logic at current motherboards are not capable of handling such tasks. So, as already stated, no.

  • Driver Qual

I have an Audigy Gamer sound card and i am using WinXP SP2 for almost a year now. But since switching from My old computer/Win2K to my new computer/WinXP SP2 i have really a lot of crashes in games. ( I have latest drivers for the whole system )
Lately i was playing "Star Wars: Empire At War" and the game crashed to desktop ( or sometimes just froze the computer completely ) on an average of 3 times per hour! The situation was so annoying, that i deinstalled the Audigy card and it's driver and activated my onboard sound ( Realtek ALC 850 with nforce 4 ). Surprise, surprise most of the crashes are gone!
I would like to know if anyone has similar experiences or am i just an exception?
Because i had this problems, my system currently has the newest drivers. Are there any known problems with nforce 4 ultra and Audigy-Gamer-cards? Maybe i am doing something wrong? ;-)
    My Hardware:
    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum ( nforce 4 ultra )
    AMD Athlon 64 3800+
    GB Corsair Ram ( 2-2-2-5- )
    MSI NX7800GTX ( GForce 7800 GTX )
SB Audigy Gamer / onboard Realtec ALC 850
SATA - HDDs ( WD, Maxtor, Hitachi )
    Software:
WinXP SP2 ( only a few of the latest patches )
only standart Windows services and background processes are running.
I would like to use the Audigy again, because the onboard sound cannot connect correctly to the inspire 5700 speaker-system ( missing socket for center/subwoofer on the inspire side )
    Any help is appreciated.

    Ford...
I too have this problem. I also have had this problem twice today in Oblivion. It's the same exact crash - the screen turns to puke green with garbage and the system dies. I have to power it off to do anything. When it does this death, you can hear the sound stuttering.
At least once, when I brought the system back up, device manager couldn't find the sound card. I had to power it off for about 5 minutes before the system would boot with the card detected properly.
Any ideas what is going on? I would LOVE to fix this issue.

  • CPU hang after Winows XP shutdown.... ??????

Hello. This is my first time havin to ever do this in a long time, so here goes.
    System Specs:
    P4 Prescott 3.0Ghz
    2 gigs DDR 3200 400Mhz
    MSI 865PE Neo2-P mobo
2 Maxtor HD's, one is hooked up via S-ATA
1 DVD Burner and 1 CD Burder
    BFG GeForce 7800 GS 256MB
    SB Audigy MP3+
    Onboard LAN card
PCI Kingston LAN  card for ICS(old and cheap but works good for the purpose)
I have never had this problem before. I am not sure if it is a Windows problem, PSU problem, or Mobo problem.
Computer works great when running. All games and programs run excellent, smooth as a baby's ass. The problem is when I shut the computer down for the day, the last thing that happens when XP is shutting down is that it will say Shutting Down on the screen and when it finally turns the PC off, the cd rom and HD lights remain on and the fans are still spinning. The power button also quit working when this started. I have to shut it off by clicking off the PSU switch. Here is the fun part. When I turn it back on, my 4 LEDs are all red, indicating a CPU failure. Whoa! Slow down! This thing is only like a year old and it is not overclocked or pushed! Temps are always low because artic silver is awesome. I have tried removing everthing in the case to see if it was hardware, including hard drives, and still the same problem. Maybe it's the new video card? Nope. Even when I remove the card I get the same lights, no beeping or nothing. The fans all turn on and work fine. The heatsink is still attached to the CPU well.
So I tried to jump the CMOS jumper to reset everything. YAY! It works again! Life is great! I can get back to playing Heroes V! The night is over, so I shut down again. Boom! Same problem! As soon as Windows XP shuts down completely it hangs again and I cannot restart it. I'm also keeping in mind the fact that my power button is still not working anymore. I removed the connection from the mobo for the power button but it did not help anything at all.
This is the weirdest issue I have ever had. I'm assuming it's a mobo problem cause the power button quit at the same time, but if the mobo had an issue, why would it work fine after jumping it? I need some serious help. As much as I can leave this thing running all the time, I would still like it to rest at night. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Actually this is a common issue on both MSI and ASUS mobos. I have seen it before. Surprised many here haven't had it. But I build 2 machines a month and have seen it a lot about a year ago.
Heres the deal. I don't think its a hardware issue as much as its xp not knowing what to do.
    Heres where I would start:
    1. Make sure you have the mobos latest firmware. (Although this usually doesn't fix jack)
    2. Guess what, you will have to reinstall windows xp. Sorry.
But it's actually not that bad heres what I would do.
Find a scrap hard disk somewhere. Boot off the cd to install windows xp. as it starts and the blue screen comes up do the following. Wait for windows to say press F6 to add special hd driver. When this comes up press F5 notice I said F5. I actually press F5 and F6 not sure if F5 will do what we want alone but I'd try F5 first. If you press F6 too don't worry you can always skip putting in the hd driver.
I also do not install any SATA drivers if I have non raid SATA installed. I let windows take care of that.
Ok so you press F5 after a minute a window will come up that wants to know what kind of system your running. It used to be you would select normal system. Well scroll up and select ACPI uniprocessor. If you have one CPU. In my case I have a dual core and select ACPI mulitprocessor not sure its a multiprocessor but I don't see a problem. After you select that you install windows as normal.
These new mobos have ACPI and if it isn't selected at install they tend to have issues like this.
I haven't seen this problem again since I did these procedures. I'm not 100% sure this is what solved it. But it used to happen every new install I did about a year ago.
Since I recommend doing it on a spare junk drive it shouldn't be too much of an inconvience to do this. By the way it may also have to do with SATA hard disks but I never pegged that down either. I just know I do not have this issue on new installs anymore. The newer asus boards were always giving me grief like this. One reason I switched to MSI after 15 years of ASUS only.
Oh yeah, just try it with one drive. Keep it as simple as you can. Its only a test setup and can be performed a few times before you get it right. Then you can do it to your real hd.

ok i am ready to off myself with this thing.....i backed up the needed software then swapped motherboards, as well as CPU....also changed the video cards. First was that everuything started going wrong...windows would crash to a blue screen that went by lightning fast since my pc would reboot itself.....then it would post start loading windows then reboot itself. I adjusted every bios option for close to 8 hrs last night to seee what would work. when i finally got into windows in safe mode it might or might not reboot. No sign of the third hdd (what am I doing wrong here...or can that IDE3 not be used as a standard third hdd) so i swapped back the original vid card since that usually is a prob, but no real diff.....so i formatted completely the #1 drive and relaoded xp home complete clean install......went thru the whole thing ok but when i tried to download the SP1 the computer started the whole rebooting itself over again. WHAAAAAA!!!!! does any one have any ideas, since the only diff in the pc now is the mb and processor, i did the clean install using my orginal video card with the hopes of installing it again later. I did install the MSI IDE driver, the broadband driver and the USB2.0 driver found on the disk, but i didn't install the others since it said not to under windows XP...should I have installed that whole 4 in 1 driver thing with the agp driver for VIA??? i searched the net and have been to 100's of sites before posting here, all with thwe hopes of figuring this thing out for myself, but i am at your collective mercy. please help whille i figure out where i out those darn bullets.......

interestingly, it seems somewhat fixed...sorta...installed new via 4in1 drivers which allowed me to then istall WDM for my video card.....now i am stuck with trying to get the HDD on the IDE3 to be recognized....i tried enabling raid but XP keeps telling me that it can't install the raid driver becuase "data is invalid"......what the hell does that mean...tried every diff version of the ware but no luck....why can't the friggin bios have an IDE 3 enable thing....or i wonder how else i might be able to get this all to work.....hasn't crashed in 4 hrs which is a triumph

  • Live Update 3 - Intel INF hangs

I've been having problems with my 865PE Neo2 crashing randomly while running games so I decided to try updating drivers.  One of the weird things I see is WinXP telling me a "serious error" has ocurred and is a "driver failure".
Anyway, I run Live Update 3 and tell it to download the Intel INF file.  It took me a least a dozen attempts to get a full download of the file.  Now that I install it, I get to 60% and the system hangs.   ;(
Fortunately I can reboot the system and it still runs but I have no idea if the Intel INF is the correct version or if it will stop these random crashes.
    Details on the crashes:
I'm running with a 3.0 gHZ processor at stock speed.  I have a gig of GEIL DDR433 memory.  Audio is an Audigy 2, onboard sound is disabled.  Video is an ATI 9800 PRO.  My boot drive is an SATA drive and I also have 3 IDE drives not counting a CD-R and DVD drive.
Crashes occur during LAN or internet gaming with BF1942.  Sometimes the app exits to desktop.  Sometimes I get a sound lockup and have to reset the system.
    Any ideas?

My system specs are listed in my first message at the top of this thread.
I did read through the ReadMe in the install package and I did see something that is rather disturbing.  The instructions lead me through control panel and device manager to list devices by connection.  The names of the devices the ReadMe tells me to look for DO NOT match what I see in my control panel.  I'm definitely looking at the WinXP folder for the INF.
The Readme file says to look for these PCI devices:
    12. Right-click on the line containing the description
                PCI standard host CPU bridge
                -or-
                PCI standard ISA bridge
                -or-
                PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
                -or-
                PCI System Management Bus
                -or-
                Standard Dual PCI IDE Controller
                -or-
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller
What I'm seeing on my system are lines like
"SMBus Controller" with the chip number at the beginning of the line.  The files LOOKS like the appropriate one but why are the instructions wrong?  ?(
I still tried to follow the ReadMe instructions anyway and burnt the "Disk1" folder to a CD.  I tried to update the driver for my "SMBus Controller" and when it looked at the CD it said it didn't find any drivers there.   X(
MSI, why oh why didn't you include drivers on your CD!   ;(
Any suggestions on how to do the suggested repair?  The INF install doesn't show up in Add/Remove Programs.

  • Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro with onboard so

    Hi everyone
I've just had the above card with no I/O module...just the card only.
The sound for me is awesome from my P5800 speakers....the one fly in the ointment is - as it doesn't have a mic input - I've had to enable the onboard sound but I cant get working.... I know that they can co-exist in the same machine as others on another forum I visit, have this set up...
With the audigy in the PC, the onboard soundmax drivers wouldn't install, so I had to pull the card and the onboard got recognised and everything worked ok...recording through mic no probs...
Before I re-installed the audigy, I checked windows sound settings and had recording set to the soundmax/onboard and the playback as being from the 'modem #0 line playback' as it was the only other option available, thinking that the audigy might pinch back the 'rights' after rebooting......it did....plus the recording, no problem I though, just put it back to the onboard....arrggh - no onboard available on the drop down box, it had disappeared.
The soundmax icon is still in the systray, but if I click on it, nothing happens at all...no errors, nothing!
My motherboard is the Asus k8v se deluxe....bit stuck now as what to try...any ideas?
    Thanks if you can help.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply
No - it's not there on the drop down now...re-slotting the audigy has made it disappear from the list of available devices, as I said though, the icon for Soundmax is still sitting in the systray and r/clicking it will invoke all of the options.....apart from 'Soundmax Control Panel'.....
