Audigy SE problem on S

Hello,?I have a new audigy SE and im runnin on windows XP home, the drivers were working properly untill I installed SP 2 ( I formatted ) so whe ni restarted my PC, There was no sound, and every time i try some of mediasource's functions an error apears that the device cant be found, I tried changing its PCI port, i tried reinstalling etc.. But nothing... Last time i tried it asked for a SP 2 cd for a component... I found it and it installed it.. But nothing again.... Any idea whats wrong ? I would really appreaciate your help, Thanks... Im trying to find a way not to format again... P.s forgot to mention that i tried updating , and downloaded software from the website, but it never fully unpackedMessage Edited by konstantinos23 on 2-8-200602:25 PM

My bet is you have Hardware ticked in the sound options in the game, switch to software and that will solve it.
The audigySE is a p.o.s by the way,no better and in some cases worse than a decent onboard sound chip.

i`ve enabled cmss in every conceivable way..updated my drivers to the latest but i still have no control of most of my speakers. your utility tells me to switch pos and neg of the speakers...how?.. its a plug. i cant turn the volume up on my front speakers...it adjusts the rear and the center..
now i know its not the speakers. i own 3 computers and it works fine on the others..just not with the audigy 2 zs...
hmm works on a $60. card but not on the better one.
please tell me whats wrong... the diagnostic says all is well
also when i check my speakers with your calibrator i cant hear my fronts.

Ok buddy try this Uninstall all the drivers to the card then reboot the computer then when it boots back up reinstall the sound cards drivers then update them and update your bios and clear cmos or set the bios to default settings then tweak them as you had them if you even do tweak them
after this mess with the 5. settings or what ever you have then if you still can't then I am horrible to say this but the sound card is not compatible with the speakers and thats what would explain them to work on your others and not the 60 dollar card one
or it could be that you need better surround system because thats not compatible with the card.
Look at the recamendations for each item and see if there not compatible? or try using the sound system on another computer and buy a newer one from creative I mean they have afordible ones on here that will work with that card? but thats all I have at the molment so I hope you find the problem and any how get it fixed Good Luck!

  • Audigy 4 Problem Sol

    Hi everyone
I'm running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
As you all know there are problems with sound drivers and sound cards.
Well, for anyone with problems that own a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4, I have found a resolution to the consistent sound distortions that you may, or may not have encountered.
Anyways I'll run you through the things I did before finding a solution. I first ran and installed the CD software. Sound worked but often I would hear cracking and hissing sounds if I was utilizing my computer more. As I made more actions the more distortions there were. So I uninstalled the drivers and tried the Vista 64 bit Beta Drivers. I had the recurring problems with the CD software. So as a last ditch effort before I decided to return my audio card, I installed the XP drivers. Sound works flawlessly now and the quality is much better. Before trying this though, I suggest uninstalling all previous drivers and uninstalling the sound card by going to device manager, and uninstalling it. After rebooting your computer run the XP drivers and follow instructions. Here is a link for the driver. http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/audigy4.html
I hope this can help some of you because I know how much of a pain in the ass it is dealing with the distortions and trying to find drivers that work.

Ya know whats funny, this same idea worked for the X-Fi as well. I used the Windows XP 64bit driver, and the snap/crackle/pop is gone. Was a bit tricky to install (make sure EVERYTHING is removed, and you will have to manually point the drivers to the C:\Windows\Temp directory), otherwise this thing works as intended. Just tested WoW, and no crackling. If Hardware Sound is enabled, it was crackling, but remove that checkmark and it plays fine. Now why are we being forced with a lousy Vista driver when the XP64bit driver works so much better?

  • Audigy SE problem - Radio stutters in Battlefield 2

I just recently got an Audigy SE. In 242, everything sounds great except for the radio transmissions. Explosions, gunshots, music, all of it sounds great. My other games and my music sounds fine. I dont know if its a problem with the game or what.
When I run the creative diagonstics it says the directsound test fails. I guess that might be affecting it's
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Still no fixes for Audigy 2zs problem

I still have major issues with my Audigy 2zs in many games, yet I still see absolutely no updates on the drivers. Have you completely abandoned you customers now?
If I install your bloatware to get the functionality, I get crash after crash, yet if I just use the driver, I get only 4 hardware voices, and many sounds are simply dropped. This is in World of Warcraft, Doom 3, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament 2003, Diablo 2, and even games as simple as Bejeweled 2!
As long as you continue to leave your old bugs in place, I will not support buying any of your new products. I will continue to tell people that your products are crap because you refuse to actually support them. If Nvidia or ATI had pulled this ind of crap with their products, they would have gone under by now. We've already seen this happen with 3dFX and S3. Don't you people learn from history?

I just recently found out about the VIA and Creative problems in the past. I know the SiS chipset is good too! I had this 2zs card in an Asus SiS chipset motherboard and it worked flawlessly. Now, in this VIA chipset motherboard, I'm having all kinds of trouble. I can't justify buying a new motherboard when I only bought this motherboard 2-4 months ago! I wish I knew of these issues before buying a motherboard with a VIA chipset!!
Does anyone know of a solution or know if Creative is even working on a solution? That Beta driver's been out for more than a month now! I hope when the final revision of that driver comes out, it will address this issue! If not, I don't know what I'm going to do!!
And with all the problems I've seen people having with the X-fi cards, I'm not even going to consider going in that direction (especially since a lot of people having trouble with the X-fi card have motherboards with the VIA chipsets).
Any help is greatly appreciated! I've spent countless hours searching the web for an answer (which is something I shouldn't have to do in the first place, but that's another story) and have come up with nothing! The ONLY reason why I'm sticking with this Creative card is because I really like EAX in my PC games, and especially EAX Advanced HD 4.0! When functioning properly (which is not as often as I'd like), it sounds amazing!!

  • Windows Vista vs. Sound Blaster Audigy Value = Problem

I am facing problems with SoundBlaster Audigy Value when using it with Windows Vista. However i have downloaded and installed latest drivers (Version No. - SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0077) supporting this card but still it is functioning as good as it worked with windows XP .
Prob # : I can hear sound from my TV Tuner device but cannot perform recording , an error ("Cannot render audio capture system") is generated whenever i try to do so. I also tried to set recording control of my Tv Tuner device to sound card's "line in" parameter as i used to do in XP but in Vista my device shows nothing. Why ?
Prob # 2: Can you tell me where I can find "creative graphic equalizer" for this card which supports windows Vista or please provide a link to download it's
Prob # 3: Why we cannot enable "Bass Boost" using new Creative Audio Console while using Creative Inspire 4400 (4. Channel Speakers) like i used to do in windows XP ?
I will be extremely thankful to you if you please provide a solution to these problems.
    Thank You........

  • Audigy 2 problems with spdif out not working and cracking appear

    Hello everyone,
I am new in this forum but after searching through it i decided to post as i din't find a problem exactly similar to mine.
I have a Creative audigy 2 ZS plugged on my computer with this configuration : Gygabyte P35 DS3, Quad core Q6600, Kingston 2 gb.
From the beginning of my purchase i did not have any problem of cracking or connection problems in spdif with digital din in either XP or Vista. Last week end i decided to re install XP after a virus infection with XP SWEET wich install directly the drivers of my peripherals like the audigy.
The audigy is connected to my speakers : Creative? 5. kit 5700 via the digital din connection and without any analog connection as i selected digital out only in my settings.
Everything was working fine until 2 days ago when? while watching a divx the sound stopped working. i checked everything in m connection and everything was good as well as my speakers. finally i connected the audigy via analog cables to the speakers to find that, if i select digital out only no sound could be heard and finally that poping and cracking sounds started to appear.
I don't know what happened with my system as it never did that before in any of my configurations.
When i reboot my computer, the digital out start working again to finally stop 5 minutes later.
If somebody can help me is help would be most welcome.
    Thank you!

Well, I do not know much about the red light thingy, but if the S-Bracket works well, it should be not problem, unless you can't get anything from the S-Bracket.

  • Audigy install problems once m

i had forgotten how tetchy this software was to install but after a new dri've and fresh install of XP i bit the bullet and chucked the dusty (mataphorically speaking) CD in and installed the software.i then went to the autoupdate section and it suggested only two updates (strange) the recorder update which installed without a problem.on rebooting i again went to the autoupdate section and the only update was the 40mb audigy,aud2 and 4 update which i duly downloaded.on installing it it came up with this report:?
    Error Code:??? -50 : 0x80040707

  • Audigy SE Problems in recording and playb

Hello, i just purchased the SoundBlaster Audigy SE 7. and i am having a few problems with it. The first problem is the fact that when i record at 44.00 hz 6 bit i often get stutterig and the recorded material is always out of sync with the original. When i record at 48.000 hz, the out of sync problem dissapears but not the stuttering. I tryed all sample rates from 48 to 92 using 6 and 24 bit but the stuttering is still there. I am using Sony sound forge to record, and with my old card the PCI CMI8738-6ch i had none of these problems so what could cause this ?!
My second problem is the way the bass sounds at playback. I checked all the things in the speaker settings like bass management, bass redirection, subwoofer gain +5 db, also the cmss 3D is checked and so is the speaker setting to 5. , and the cables are connected properly, but the bass has this strange sound like it's about to burst out, i don't know how to describe it but it doesn't sound like a real bass. Back on the CMI everything was just fine, the bass sounded very natural.
This is really dissapointing to me as i have the T6060 5. speakers from creative, and I can't believe how bad it sounds on a creative card and how good it use to sound on that crappy CMI.
Any answer I would greatly appreciate !Message Edited by BogdanR on 07-8-2006 0: AM

The card supports recording up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
If the SF supports using Kernel Streaming device driver mode, try w/ that. If not then try w/ ASIO (I don't know if that model supports ASIO nati'vely so, if not then use Asio4All drivers.
If you have PCI/AGP card for graphics, PCI Latency tool may help you w/ stuttering issues --> just lower the latency value for graphics card to 64-28 (it's propably set to 248-255).

  • K8T Neo FSR with Audigy 1 Problem

I just received a major upgrade, for me anyway, last night. ALL I was getting on boot was 4-RED LED lights on the D-Bracket2 connector. I was ready to RMA the WHOLE thing to Tiger Direct, when I decided in one last ditch effort to try again.....I pulled my Audigy, and wham, it booted normally. Now let me describe.
    1. I KNOW it's not a power issue, as I had EVERYTHING but Sound and Video removed, and unplugged, including hard drives. The D-Bracket2 LED's were still all-red on boot.....system would not POST.
    2. Pulled ALL hrdware from system, except Video and Audigy, same results.
    3. Last try, pulled EVERYTHING, including Audigy, and it booted normally.
    4. Re-connected everything, except Audigy, re-installed Windows XP SP2, no problems, system runs.
I tried EVERY PCI slot with the Audigy, ALL with the same results; system would not run with it in there. The card was good 15 minutes prior on the OLD Abit Board. (meaning it works.)
    ANy ideas???
    System Specs:
    K8T Neo FSR MB

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE problems

Alright first of all I am new to Linux in general.
I have two soundcards in my computer. One is an onboard card (Intel) that is faulty and doesn't work; another is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE which does work.
My problem, of course, is getting the latter to work.
So I realize this is nothing new, searching the forums and reading ALSA's wiki. However there seems to be some issues with making this work on ALSA, so is there a way to configure this with OSS?
"lspci | grep audio" returns both soundcards:
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
01:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs CA0106 Soundblaster
    "ossdetect -v" returns:
Detected Sound Blaster Audigy LS / Live7.1
    Detected Intel AC97 (ICH5)
USB support available in the system, adding USB driver
Detected Generic USB audio/MIDI device (BETA)
I use "soundoff" and "soundon", then "osstest":
    Sound subsystem and version: OSS 4.1 (b 1052/200903241101) (0x00040100)

Basically it seems like it detects the crappy onboard sound (which is unusable, I stress) and not my soundcard. I really don't know how to fix/configure this and sound is really important to me if I'll be using Arch.
Thanks for any help offered, if more information about something is needed I'll be more than happy to oblige.

I would start by disabling the on board sound in your BIOS if you are not going to use it.  As a novice user much of the documentation kind of covers the simpler case and this might help you navigate them better.
Keep in mind the Audigy SE is not a real Audigy (like Audigy 2 which has very good linux support).  If you are just looking for straightforward playback you should have no trouble, but you will not get hardware mixing with SE IIRC.

  • MSI K8t NEO + Audigy Boot Problem only when power is unplugged on the PSU

I ran into a really weird problem today.
I switched the ps off by reaching back and pressing the button. I repress the button to power on the ps, then I click on the button in the fron of the case to power up the machine. System keeps rebooting itself every 1 sec. Bracket shows 4 red lights. In the manual, it says it means bad cpu. I remove the audigy and it boots fine. I install the audigy, 4 red lights.
So, This time instead of turning the puter off by using the button on ps. I used the button on the case by holding it down for 5 seconds. I reboot and puter boots normally.
So the problem is, if i turn the puter off by using the button on the PS and with audigy in the syste. Nothing on screen, and puter keeps rebooting itself every one second. Solution is to turn the puter off by using the button on the case.
Has anyone ran into this problem? I have never had this kind of problem. It is really weird. Any feedback is apreciated.
Oh and it is only with audigy. I tested this with original live, and also other PCI cards like nic, and another cheap sound card. Non of these cards showed this problem.

    Cavemankr!
I never knew you could shut down the computer by holding down the start button for 5 seconds.... well I've never really had the need to...until I got this K8T Neo job. I wondered why it wouldn't turn off when I just pushed it. I've been using the PSU switch with these problems.
Yep! She booted right up. Audigy back in action. I also realized I had my PC hooked straight in the wall (while checking to see if my surge protector was working this weekend), so turning off the surge protector wasn't cutting power to the cheapo PSU.
So put me in your camp!
I'll just plug the PC straight into the UPS and keep power fed to the Enermax. I hope that was the cause of my keyboard/mouse cold boot problem also.
I'll assume the cheapo PSU will behave similarly. I don't really want to go through the swap again.
    I wonder why that happens!

  • SB Audigy Headset Problem

I have recently updated my driver on the Audigy SE, i use a headset for Teamspeak. Since i have updated the driver an old problem has reoccured, i am getting what ever i say in the mic repeated in the headphones. It is very very annoying, i had the problem a long time ago and twinked the settings to get rid of it, but now i can't remember how i did it. There are quite a few people who have had the same problems along the line that i know, all can't remember what they did.
Is there anyone out there that can offer some advice to remedy this problem. I have tried rolling back the driver, and the same problem is there so i need to find someone who has had a similar problem that knows what to do =]

    Hi
Are you getting echo? (sounds like your talking into a large can) or is it delay (hearing your voice a second or so after you speak)?
I've had that problem, but so far, fingers crossed, not with the SE in my older rig - I do have it big time with the XtremeGamer in my main rig.
The only way I've been able to get rid of echo and/or delay (I've had both at once!) is to enable EAX effects, turn them all the way down to 0, then set environment to stone hall or small room.
    Hope that helps?

  • Audigy 2 problems after updating drivers

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I'm using an Audigy 2 (without all the extras) and I've been fairly satisfied with my card up till now. A couple of days ago I decided to update my drivers, so I did. After that the sound cut out. I tried rolling back the drivers as well as reinstalling my card. All to no avail. The best result I've been able to achieve is my Windows startup sound playing, but nothing else. MP3s don't play, WAVs don't play, (and get this) GAMES HAVE NO SOUND. ARgh.
I'm not sure how this works, I mean, how can the windows sound play when everything else doesn't?
    I'm on WinXP SP btw.
    Please help.

  • AUDIGY SE PROBLEM - WENT FROM LOSING AUDIO TO NOW NOT EVEN RECOGNIZING THE C

    Hi there,
I recently bought the Creative Soundblaster Audigy SE Soundcard and installed it. Things were going well up until today. I was listening to music and the audio from my Winamp suddenly started stuttering. I then rebooted and thought nothing of it. After the reboot, there was no sound at all and when I tried to open a song with Winamp the song would stop after like 2 or 3 seconds - I could tell this by the timer on the Winamp stopping, as there was no sound. Anyway, I was puzzled by this so I decided to uninstall the software and reinstall it. I uninstalled the software, but when I tried to re-install the software it would crash at like 80% of the install and reboot and then tell me that I had recoved from a "serious error". Sigh ... So then I had a look around my settings and noticed that it was saying that there is no soundcard detected for the software to install for. So I powered down and took the card out and replaced it in another PCI slot. Now it won't recognize the card at all, even when I change PCI slots it won't recognize the card anymore.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Having the same problem with my Li've 24-bit. The card has been working fine for the past couple of months and today I noticed no sound. When I checked no sound device installed. I've reinstalled the drivers several times including down loading new dri'ves still no luck. any idea how to fix.

After updating to Vista SP the subwoofer and front speakers channels were disabled on Audigy 4. There are no signal from them. Now if I choose 5. option for speakers I have only surround and central speakers working. Tried to reinstall the driver but with no result.
The system was absolutely Okay with the same driver before SP. Help, please!!!
