Audigy SE + Vista Iss

I just bought a new Audigy SE because my old Li've and integrated sound weren't well supported in Vista. However, I'm still having issues.
Things seem to work okay on the desktop with the latest drivers, but I've tried playing Bioshock and Crysis and both have issues. Crysis stutters and pauses every few seconds, while Bioshock has a lot of crackles and pops.
Disabling the sound card fixes the stuttering in Crysis. Both games work fine in XP.
What gives? How can I fix this?

I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

you know... i have this sound card (Audigy 4 - non pro) for over one year now, AND i don`t have a good driver and software for windows vista home premium x64. last driver for this sound card is:
. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002 (38.30 MB) 6 Mar 07.
    i mean... 6 mar. 07
how long do i have to wait for you, to relase all the software it is on windows xp oh, this audigy 4 was not intended to use with vista, wright and you want everybody to buy that x-fi sound card with another set of problems in windows vista. nice marketing solution. good for you ONLY.
i`m just tired waiting. my card doesn`t work as it should, nor as it worked in windows xp.
i need all that software. all of it, working under vista. PRONTO!
you will provide that software, or you just lost me as a customer, and along with me, alot more.
btw, daniel_k was only helping people, by providing drivers and software YOU couldn`t, or you just didn`t wanted to. stop deleting his posts or links to the drivers made by him.
just stop that abbusi've marketing strategy, by not releasing software for older sound cards, and forcing customers to buy your new products. no, that wouldn`t happend.

    Important :
Before installing, remove all traces of any previous drivers and all driver related software, using add/remove programs within the control panel and following that, by removing the driver within "Device Manager". To clean up any excess files left on your system, you should use a 3rd party program to do this job (unless you've a good understanding of the registry) A recommended program to do this is Driver Sweeper - which is freeware, and available from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ or paid version at hardwareheaven.com driver cleaner.net

Providing you've followed the steps above, restart your computer and run Setup.exe. Follow through the prompts until the installation has completed.
Please used register cleaner like tune up Advanced SystemCare iobit.com or crapcleaner
Please make sure you installed lastest direct x included in the suite of June 200 if you haven't done so.

  • Audigy and vista build 5

    hello,
i have a Audigy sound card and using Vista build 5308.
i was wondering if there is any solution for the BSOD that appears when restarting/shutdown the pc. am i the only one with this error ? i realise these drivers were released for beta but still...
also, 5. sound is not working. after setting from control panel to 5. sound, only the front, center speakers and the subwoofer works.
when setting 5. speakers, wmp crashes too.
    thanks,
    OJi.

Hello Deadly,?Go and get ALchemy and install it. then go into the program folder (of ALchemy) and copy the dsound.dll and dsound.ini to your Executable folder. Which should be something like C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/(account name)/hl2.
Then modify the INI file and put the duratino to 5 and that should fix your problem.
Tried it on my CSS (not in game but rather the TEST YOUR SPEAKER button) and everything is back to normal after this.
    Hope this helps

  • Audigy LS / Vista.. How to get music from surround speake

Does anyone know how I can get my music to play through all of my 5. speakers in windows vista? In XP i could use the creative CMSS stuff, but that doesnt work in xp..

First step, uninstall any software that is made by creative labs. It usually slips back to 2 speaker mode, ruining the product. (or does on the cards I've seen)?Second step, download and install kxmixer. I can highly recommend kxdrv3538-full.exe. My Audigy 2 never sounded better. The program is horribly skinned and a little buggy, but nowhere near as bad as the Creative stuff. You should get full functionality back, aside from EAX and perhaps SPDIF. Make sure you read the instructions, as some settings may need to be changed. Hope this hel

  • AUDIGY Se Mic ISS

    BIZAARE Microphone issues
    Hi,
First of all thanks in advance to anybody who can help me with this problem. Not even the computer shop near me were able to pin this issue down for me so I?d be really grateful to anyone can offer me support.
I have an nvidia n680i mobo and I use the onboard sound card to work my mic. The other day however it suddenly stopped working. I updated my motherboard driver and this didn?t fix the problem. The problem was at first intermittent; when I rebooted it would come back on but the all of a sudden it would turn off.
To try and quickly resolve the issue I bought an AUDIGY SE and plugged it in, but amazingly I had the same problem.
Let me tell you a few incidents to see if it helps pin the problem down. I started the machine and my mic worked (I could see the green bar going up and down in ?sound? in control panel. I unplugged the mix and plugged it in a few times and it still worked. I then plugged in a different headset(one more comfortable) and it stopped working?!?! I also rebooted and got it to work another time, but then when I launched a program (Call of Duty 4 to be precise) it stopped working again.
I just cannot figure out what the issue could be when I have technically bypassed the motherboard by putting a new soundcard in.
The cause of the problem is so hard to pin down.
Is there any advice anyone can offer me?
I?m running on vista home premium 32bit, 2 gig ram, nvidia nforce 680i mobo with an e660 oc?d to 3.2ghz.
    Thanks,
    Anthony.

Try the above link, as this pack works really well for me and this card on a machine running Vista 32. The CD is absolutely useless.
This package worked great and has allowed a friend to play Left 4 Dead with absolutely no crashes or hangs that seem to be related to sound card issues.

  • When are Audigy 2 Vista drivers comi

What is the problem with Creative and Vista?
Why can't U make some proper drivers?
The driversupport Creative is giving to their users is dramatic! An X-Fi of Audigy 2 lost all its EAX features in Vista!!! Vista is out for a half year now, and I still have to work with BETA drivers which is giving weird positioning bugs in games!
    Whats the problem
I paid for the card so I really need some driver support!

    Stormblade,
I have moved your post to this thread. I appreciate what you're saying, but I think it's time to put this to bed. The original poster (of the first thread) is free to start a thread if he wants to discuss the topic in a constructi've civil manner, but the second closed thread only relates to the first thread and the mods' decisions.
So if you or the other posters want to discuss complaints about products/drivers/whatever in another thread that is fine, but no more of these "that thread shouldn't have been closed" topic, that isn't up for discussion.
Hope that clears things up a bit.

I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
I'm very interested to hear if someone can come up with logical reasons for making beta drivers expire? Furthermore I am curious to hear what people have to say about the Creative devlopment team pushing driver realease dates time after time without providing it's customers (business, and personal) without reasons or explanations?
I am also curious to know what people think the reasons are for these delays?
Are they because Microsoft has changed the audio system in Windows so much that it is difficult to work with? What about the fact that they've had many many months to do this?
Do people here feel that it is acceptable that if they cannot get these drivers right they still disable our sound card's even limited abilities? What are peoples' opinions regarding the creative development team and management?
Just wanted to discuss and debate these topics in a polite and civilized manner.
Thank you Creative Forum Members for your opinions.
To the moderators. Where do you draw the line between appropriate discussion? What should happen if someone here bashes the company?

    Ok, from the start
I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
Let's see. The Audigy series isn't on of the latest soundcard series from creative. So of course there's not the same need for creative to release working drivers in time, or at all.
I'm very interested to hear if someone can come up with logical reasons for making beta drivers expire? Furthermore I am curious to hear what people have to say about the Creative devlopment team pushing driver realease dates time after time without providing it's customers (business, and personal) without reasons or explanations?
Well i can't find any logical reason for letting drivers expire, but maybe they wanted to assure that people don't use betadriver by mistake when there are final drivers available. Only problem with this explaination is, that there aren't new drivers for the audigy 2...
I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
Yes, the beta-drivers aren't very good and now they expire. But since rc I never used the beta driver again, cause the newest XP driver was running just fine with nearly all features working in contrast to the beta drivers. Or you could use open source drivers like kxproject which run just fine under vista. Stormblade?

  • Audigy 4 - Vista Installation Probs with Beta Driver...help

Another Vista horror story I'm afraid. Having completed a clean install of Vista basic I tried installing Audigy 4 drivers downloaded from Creative. The install failed and I had to reboot my machine. On trying to re-install I get an error message after the unpacking stage saying `you have previously installed drivers without re-booting...re-boot and try again'?Of course I've done that and the same situation repeats. There is nothing showing in the software uninstall component of control panel so I'm stuck in a loop. Can anyone help?TIA?

I see others mentioning the 8800 with their xfi, I have 768 version of 8800. I wish I could get these drivers in so I can get surround sound back..

  • Audigy SE Onboard Iss

I just built a new PC. I used the MSI K9N Diamond motherboard, which comes with an Audigy SE card. I have a 5. speaker system, and I'm having unbelievable amounts of trouble with the card.
Basically, the Creative software (Surround Mixer, Speaker Settings etc. that all come up on that bar at the top of the screen) doesn't recognise the speakers at all. I get sound out of the two front speakers, but nothing from the rear ones or the subwoofer. When I try and open Speaker Settings I get
"The audio device supported by this application is not detected."
What do I do? I enclose my specs below if it will help:
    OS: Vista Ultimate
    Proc: AMD 64 FX X2 5200+ 2.6 GHz

I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

  • Audigy Gamer driver iss

I cannot get the latest drivers for the Audigy Gamer (E400) to work correctly with my card no matter what I do. I'm running off a clean WinXP install with SP2. I installed AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, then updated my AudioHQ, then installed AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe. Upon installation I get sound, my mixer works, and AudioHQ works (EQ, ENV, FX presets all funciton). But when any game attempts to use EAX, I get no sound. If I alt-tab out of the game, and load AudioHQ, all of my ENV, EQ, and FX settings are blank. As soon as I exit the game, AudioHQ returns to normal and my sound returns. I've tried updating drivers every way possible, and nothing's changed. I have to use old drivers, and the old drivers produce very poor EAX effects, if any, but they are the only drivers that actually function fully.
    System Specs:
    MSI KT3 Ultra2 (Via KT333)
    AthlonXP 800+
    52 MB PC2700
    40 GB WD 7200RPM

    Audigy Gamer (E400)
    MSI GeForce 3 Ti 200
    DirectX 9.0c
    Windows XP Professional w/SP2
If there is anybody out there who has gotten this card to work correctly, i'd very much appreciate your guidance. The lack of driver support on this card is pathetic to say the least, and it does not give me any encouragement to ever purchase a Creative Labs card again. I know there are ways to use Audigy 2 drivers with this card, but i'd like to first hear if there are any real fixes for this card.
    Thanks for any help!

    Avenger55,
The problem that you are dealing with here is that the original driver CD you have predates Windows XP. It is possible to get the CD install to work under XP by doing what we discussed earlier, however it appears there may be a third detail that is causing the trouble here. I noticed that you are running a VIA chipset, are you running the latest version of the Hyperion 4 in drivers? If not you should go to www.viaarena.com and get the update. The newest drivers should work with your system without trouble as long as the system is up to date.
You might also consider ordering our latest install CD for the Audigy as it contains the latest drivers for the Audigy along with all of the updated software. You can order it from our Direct Sales department who can be contacted at -800-998-000 option #.

  • Audigy SE, Vista, LIne In and

I see in the release notes a known issue is that direct monitoring is not supported in this driver release. Any clues as to when it might be, if ever, and will I be better off just to buy a card with drivers that support all of?the cards?functions, and a better question would be: Does any Creative product currently do this... ie allow me to use the line in and aux inputs on the card. Thanks

I?found a way to get line in and such to work. If you go?to "Manage Audio Devices" in control Panel? On the Playback tab, right-cick on the speaker and click properties.Click the "Levels" tab and then unmute the Line-in and bring the volume up to 00. Line In should now work. Im using build 6000 of vista with the "SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0065" drivers.
