Audigy2 Value conflicts with DigiCell & Core Cen

I just installed an Audigy2 Value on my new home built system. I have a MSI Neo4-F motherboard with GB of ram. I had the system running clean for a week when I installed the Audigy 2. Install when smooth but then Norton come up 'OFF' and I got error messages that DigiCell and CoreCenter (two MSI programs) couldn't load. I cleared up the Norton problem by removing the Creative Media Source program. I removed and reloaded both the MSI programs, but still get the error messages. They don't auto load, but will run if started later.
This problem seems to be related to the install of Creative programs. Is there a new driver, or new process I can follow to clear this up? Thanks

I think you have done about all you can do without going to 3rd party drivers, with their inherent risks. Regarding Norton you do not need to uninstall Media Source, all you need to do is turn off mediasource GO.

  • Need Help Please: Audigy2 Value conflict with onboard sound

<SPAN class=postbody>System info: Windows XP Home Edition, 2.4 GHz IntelPent4, 52MB of RAM; DDR 200(33MHz), MSI MS-6547 (645 Ultra) motherboard. I need help! Sigh...well I am trying to put in a Soundblaster Audigy2 into my computer. I am under the impression that I have to disable and remove all onboard sound b/c it conflicts with the new sound card, ?. I currently have onboard sound ( AC97 Audio Controller ). I went to add/remove programs and removed the AC97 from there. I also went to MyComputer/Properties/Hardware/DeviceManager/Sound,Video,andGameControllers/AC97AudioContoller and deleted it. st Question: Under DeviceManager/Sound,Video,GameControllers...Do I need to remove the Legacy Audio Drivers? I know that I have to delete the rest of the drivers for AC97 and out of chance would Legacy be those drivers? I am guessing no...Also, is there anything else that I have to delete for the on board sound program to be gone? 2nd Question: I went to BIOS, and since I have windows XP home edition I think that configuration is a little different from what I read(I wont bore you with that). So, where do I go to "disable" the onboard sound in BIOS for Windows XP HomeEdition? Also, I read something about making sure the "Chip" was disabled but I could be paranoid. Do I need to worry about that? If you made it through all that text I thank you dearly. I hope that I can get some help from someone b/c I know nothing. I am afraid of making the wrong choice on BIOS and messing everything up. Thank You so Much! Ross Message Edited by RossRude3 on 04-06-2005 0:48 AM

    Ross,
To fully disable teh onboard audio you would need to go into the BIOS to disable the Onboard Audio chip there. The manual with your motherboard or PC should have more detail on where exactly to find this setting, as it will differ per BIOS type. Generally it should be under a heading like Integrated Peripherals, and should be marked as the Onboard Audio chip, or AC97 Audio.

  • Windows 7 conflict with TSS Core Service

I upgraded to Windows 7 on an X61S and then cursor control failed in Outlook 2007 after I hit the enter key in new mail message. The solution was to disable the TSS Core Service (following help from microsoft). Now i need to find a compatible Thinkadvantage upgrade to get a upgraded TSS Core Service module. Whewre can I find that?

    System info
    Thinkpad X200
    Windows 7 Pro 32bit OS
    Affected applications
    MS Word 2007
After opening an existing Word document, I can use the mouse to move the insertion point cursor to different parts of the document, to select objects and to highlight text.  As soon as I type anything new anywhere in the document and push the Enter key (or just push the Enter key), the mouse can no longer be used to move the insertion point to another location in the document nor can it select text or objects.  The arrow and shift keys still allow me to move around the document and select objects.
The problem seems to be caused by a bug in the Password Manager program that is included in the Lenovo Client Security Solution application.
Any official comments from Lenovo pls?

  • Problems with Audigy2 Value and CMS

I have an Audigy2 value sound card running on windows xp with sp2. My speakers are 4. Creative 4400. I installed the drivers that came along with the card and they work fine. The trouble is that unless I turn on CMSS 3D, I get sound only from the front left and front right speakers. Only if CMSS 3D is on does the rear channel activate.
This is very odd considering that I had a SBLi've! before this and I had no such problems with my speakers. I've tried tweaking the software but to no avail. Also tried reinstalling - but no change.

You are a victim of the align to pixel grid option.
Starting in CS5 if when you chose a new document profile of web, that feature gets turned on. Select All and remove uncheck "Align to pixel grid".
Adiitonally uncheck Align New Object To Pixel Grid, so this does not come back when you draw new objects.
Now if you are working on a web image, then that option is good to have on, but work in units of pixels, and all should be better as long as you work in whol pixel numbers.

  • Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome

Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.
The "test" page with the slide show is: http://www.reardanwa.com/index-slides.html   The same page without the slide show is http://www.reardanwa.com/
I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function.  Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Boot failure with AMD core unlock *solved*

Before you criticize me for buying a triple core instead of a quad core, I want you to know that my situation seems to only conflict with Arch.
I have an AMD Athlon II x3.  If I unlock the 4th core, Linux live CDs boot up just fine, Windows XP boots fine, Windows 7 boots fine, and as long as any OS completely boots up it runs flawlessly for hours with constant load.  However, Arch will fail to boot IMMEDIATELY after unlocking cores. IIRC, the Arch setup CD also fails to boot.  I have a small feeling that GRUB has something to do with it, but whenever I attempt to install GRUB2 I'm never able to boot again.
As another note, I can't seem to get IOMMU to work with Arch.  With Debian based distros it works immediately, but I can't find anything on how to enable it with Arch.  I get this impression that there's a lot of missing Kernel entries in Arch which are causing these CPU problems, and possibly others.

debian doesn't have that file, did you mistake it for something different?
I know some distros don't have it but I wasn't aware debian is one of them (I use arch everyday and I try to manage a few centos boxes and that's all), that is an option can be enabled/disabled when building the kernel and it can be quite useful when trying to figure out why something doesn't work (such as seeing which drivers were built and which option was selected when there are multiple choices), however I guess it might have security implications since anyone can find out which options were selected when building the running kernel and some combinations may have yet uncovered/unpublished/undisclosed security exploits.

  • "conflicts with the WAN IP address"

I just picked up a used AirPort Extreme N (Gigabit Ethernet) to replace my current non-Apple router, which has worked satisfactorily but lacks the ability to share disks--something I need. Using my G5 running 10.4.11, I downloaded AirPort Utility 5.4.2 to set up the new (to me) device, and did a factory reset just to clear everything out. I placed the AirPort in the network exactly where the old one had been--with its WAN port connected to the line supplied by my ISP (see below) and its three other ethernet ports connected to various clients. Then I ran into a problem:
Under the "Internet" icon of Airport Utility, I set it to Connect Using Ethernet, and Configure IPv4 using DHCP (My current router uses DHCP to provide IP addresss to both the wired and wireless devices on my network). The numbers below that are: IP address 192.168.1.12, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and router address 192.168.1.1.
The first field of the line labeled "DNS Server(s)" defaults to 192.168.1.1, while the second field is empty, as are the fields Domain Name and DHCP Client ID. I left Ethernet WAN port on "Automatic" and put "Connection Sharing" on "Share a Public IP address," since I believe its combination of DHCP and NAT offer the best security.
The problem: When I click the "Update" button to confirm my settings, I get this message: "The DHCP range you have entered conflicts with the WAN IP address of your Apple wireless device."
Although I am unclear as to why the Internet Connection pane of the AirPort Utility lists "IP address" and "Router address" as two separate numbers (aren't they referring to the same device, the AirPort itself? How can it have two IP addresses?), I figured that I could play it safe and change the starting number to 192.168.1.13 to avoid the conflicts with 192.168.1.12.
But I still get the same error message when pressing "update." I tried changing the range to 192.168.1.50 - 192.168.1.60, and I still get the same error message. There seems to be no range that the utility will accept as non-conflicting with the "WAN IP address" of the Airport.
My ISP did not provide a visible modem as others in the past have done. The internet connection they left me simply comes out of a box on the back of the house that is connected by fiber optics to (presumably) a fiber optic line out in the street. However, this "supply line" has always worked fine with my non-Apple router and--after disconnecting the AirPort that had temporarily taken its place--is working right now as I throw this question to the forum.
    Additional notes:
    * Under the NAT tab, the box "Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol" is checked, as it was by default) while "Enable default host at" is unchecked and blank.
    * While I currently have wireless turned on in the AirPort, I haven't even tried wireless connectivity yet and want to make sure my wired connectivity is working first.
    Thanks for any assistance.

The problem: When I click the "Update" button to confirm my settings, I get this message: "The DHCP range you have entered conflicts with the WAN IP address of your Apple wireless device."
This error message typically indicates that your 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) is receiving a Private (as opposed to a Public IP address) on its WAN port. That could be because your ISP does not provide any device (computer or router), that is directly connected to their "box," with a Public IP address.
Your AEBSn is both a DHCP client (on the WAN-side) and a DHCP server (on the LAN-side). The Configure IPv4 is basically the on/off switch for the AEBSn's DHCP client. It's other option, PPPoE, would only be used if your ISP requires it.
One option would be to reconfigure the AEBSn as a bridge. This would disable both the AEBSn's NAT & DHCP services.
Although I am unclear as to why the Internet Connection pane of the AirPort Utility lists "IP address" and "Router address" as two separate numbers (aren't they referring to the same device, the AirPort itself? How can it have two IP addresses?
The IP address information on (actually the TCP/IP pane) is showing you the AEBSn's WAN port settings. Settings that with Configure IPv4 set to Using DHCP would come from the DHCP server upstream of it. If this server was providing Public IP addresses then the values in both the IP Address & Router Address fields would not be in any of the three valid Private IP Address ranges (10.x, 172.x, or 192.x)
Under the NAT tab, the box "Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol" is checked, as it was by default) while "Enable default host at" is unchecked and blank.
This setting would not have anything to do with the error message that you are getting. Instead, this option is used as an on/off switch for the NAT-PMP protocol. This protocol is similar to non-AirPorts' UPnP protocol.
While I currently have wireless turned on in the AirPort, I haven't even tried wireless connectivity yet and want to make sure my wired connectivity is working first.
Both wired and wireless clients will be impacted by this until resolved. I again, suggest that you try reconfiguring the AEBSn as a bridge. (ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode))

    Hi Kamalakar
I think this problem happens due to wrong content of SDMKIT.JAR - incorrect crypto SDA is deployed.I dont know the installation procedure you followed because normally this error wont come.

  • MAC Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3

    Model Name:iMac / Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo / Memory:4 GB
When I installed Illustrator CS3 at the first time, I didn't complete it and closed it. While I installed it again, it said "Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3". I was be stopped on this step, so I deleted the Illustrator CS3 from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers without clicking it to uninstall. And I deleted other Illustrator CS3 files. After that, I tried to reinstall Illustrator CS3 again, but it kept to say "Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with Adobe Illustrator CS3".
I cannot find any Illustrator in my MAC. What is wrong? How can I install Illustrator again? Should I format the computer and install all the applications again?

On the Adobe site probably under support do a search for Adobe CS 3 Clean Up Script.
Before running the script read the instructions al the instructions first, do not assume you understand from reading the first sentence. There are some files that are not so obvious that are necessary for activation and they are probably still around but they can only be removed by the script.
Next time you will have to read the instructions.
The only other ways around this is the do an archival reinstall of your system or if that does not work a complete reinstall of your system. Running the script is the easier and better way to do this but you must read the instructions completely first.

    Try:
    pacman -Rd gtmod
    pacman -S qt
    #Qtmod not needed anymore
    pacman -R guidance-power-manager  /or pacman -Rcsn ....
pacman -Syu kdemod                        /or pacman -Syu kdemod-complete
also backup/ remove ~/.kde4 to start with clean config, especially if you have your own plasmoids.
#powerdevil is included in kde now, so other inferior powermanagers might conflict with it.

  • Audigy2 Value card corrupted my CD-Rom driv

Purchased a brand new Audigy2 Value sound card and installed it in my system (Dell Dimension 2400) along with the card's software from the CD. Earlier that day my system was working just fine and I was able to use my CD-Rom dri've and my CD-RW burner dri've as well. After I installed the new card and its software I was able to play MP3 files from my hard dri've and I was very happy with the great sound coming from my new sound card.
Later that day I wanted to play a CD to see how that sounded and that's when the trouble began... My computer no longer was able to access either of my two CD dri'ves. When I checked them out in my device manager it stated that their drivers were now either "corrupt or missing". Not hard to figure out how this occurred seeing as they functioned normally earlier that day before I installed the new Audigy2 and its software. I read the trouble shooting steps on the Creative Knowledge Base section and tried to follow the advice given for this type of problem but it was of no use. Phoned Creative support and the best the techs could suggest was to erase all of the Creative software and yank out the card and see if the dri've's come back. Didn't help. The drivers that operate the two dri'ves were still "corrupted or missing". Now my only option was to download new CD-Rom drivers from Dell.Com and try and get my CD-Rom back in action with new drivers. But... the new Dell drivers require that you copy them onto a bootable floppy disk to start the computer with so they will install properly with the system and its bios. Great, the Dimension 2400 does not come with a floppy dri've and Dell says there is no other way to install the new drivers except with a floppy disk which is hard to believe in this day and age of so many systems being sold without them. So now I can't reinstall the drivers to make my CD-Rom work and I can't use my master CD with the drivers because my CD dri've doesn't work. It's looking like I'll be purchasing a **bleep** floppy disk external just to try and get my system back to normal.
Just wanted to share this experience with other Audigy2 Value card owners or potential buyers. Great sounding card but certainly not worth this kind of trouble and pain!

if your using winxp, try the system restore feature. go back to the last restore point before you installed the creative drivers and see if that recovers your old drivers.
if that works, reinstall the creative drivers using the custom install and don't install any of the dvd stuff or any other program you don't need to run.

  • [SOLVED] systemd-arch-units conflicts with mdadm and xinetd packages

Trying to upgrade my testing box today to latest/greatest and running into a file conflict between systemd-arch-linux providing systemd profiles for xinetd and mdadm which also think they control the same files:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
/usr/lib/systemd/system/mdadm.service exists in both 'mdadm' and 'systemd-arch-units'
/usr/lib/systemd/system/xinetd.service exists in both 'systemd-arch-units' and 'xinetd'
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Should I just do a force? I am not relying on systemd yet. Or should I just remove systemd?

  • [IPhone SDK] NSTimer conflicts with touch events

    Hi all,
i've an NSTimer that refresh the UIView at 30 fps. Below there is the scheduled timer:
    animationTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:animationInterval target:self selector:@selector(refreshAll) userInfo:nil repeats:YES];
The problem is that the app doesn't wrap the touch events (touchbegan, touchesMoved and touchEnded) because the timer interval is too low and conflicts with this events.
I tried to set the animation interval to 2 seconds and the touch events works but the rendering obviously is slow.
However the problem is only on the device because when i launch the app on the simulator i have no problem with the timer.
Can anyone tell me how I can solve this problem?
    Thanks

The game I'm developing for the iPhone has 2 play modes (the second mode has more on screen objects). In the first game mode, I get a solid 29-30 frames per second (acceptable), however the second mode with more objects gives me 25 fps (slightly jerky). BTW, on a PC with modern hardware I get >1300 fps @1680x1050.
At first I thought that the NSTimer resolution might be causing problems. The Apple demos all use a resolution of 1/60. Setting a value of 0.0 actually bumps the frame rate up by few frames, but I lose the ability to process touch input (crap). Adding usleep(a_delta) hoping to invode a context switch does nothing for the touch input.
The next thing I tried was creating a dedicated rendering thread which basically does a while (1) render(); The thread will loop as fast as it can, and I regain touch input. On the plus side, I gained 3-4 fps for both game modes, so now I can hit 30 fps for the second mode (sweet).
To make this work, I obviously needed to add locking primitives between the render thread and the iphone input (touch, sleep, phone call etc). The render loop is now basically:
    while (alive)
    aLock->Lock();
    render();
    aLock->Unlock();
Anyway, I thought people would appretiate my experience when looking to squeeze a few more frames out of the iPhone. You just need to understand multiprocessing to work out the synchronisation issues.
PS. There is some interesting advice in the following thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7898898&#7898898
Basically, they set invoke the runloop from the animation method. This might be simpler than spawning threads and handling locking, but I haven't tried it.

I suppose, your sound card is sharing an IRQ with your USB controller.
Try moving your mouse into another USB port(s). If this don't help, you can re-install your sound card into another PCI slot (see on your motherboard manual how IRQ's are assigned for PCI slots). PCI slot 3 or 4 (count from AGP) are normally less shared.
You can check your IRQ sharing situation from device manager - device manager -> View:resources by type -> interrupt requests (IRQ)).
You can also disable controllers/devices on device manager (right_mouse_click the item you want to disable(/enable) and select disable(/enable). Do this only if selected controller/device is not needed and it is sharing an IRQ with controller/device you need.
    this so far...
