Audio and Export Help?

Very New to imovie
Here is my problem. The video and audio seem to be out of sync. A lag is present.
The movie is only 12 minutes long. The raw footage is perfect. No lag at all.
I have only used simple cross fade transitions.
I have added text over the entire movie....short one line descriptions of each clip.
Is that asking to much?
Should it be able to handle the request?
I attempted to export and it estimated the time to be 620 mins. That seemed excessive.
Any thoughts or ideas???
Tig

(P.S. I did change the Settings of the FCP from 720p60 to 720p30 about half way through the project, but that shouldn't affect the export.)
About the time you changed FCP Easy Setup from 720p60 to 720p30 DURING Export?
As you stated on this post:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2384569&tstart=0
I wouldn't think that's the best time to make a major change.

Sounds like you need the infamous MOTU "Reset".
(the bleeps & squeals is a give away)
Follow these steps to restore the 828mkII to Factory Default Settings.
-Disconnect the firewire cable from the 828mkII
    -Press the Setup knob
-Turn the Setup knob all the way to the right
    -Press the Select knob
    -Press the Value knob
-Power off the interface and plug the firewire cable back
    in
    -Power the interface back on

Even manually I configured & realized the processors for input files.
My application is getting blocked in following mentioned snippet of code.
    while (!done)
             if (outputProcessor != null
                  && (int) (outputProcessor.getMediaTime().getSeconds()) > count)
              count = (int) (outputProcessor.getMediaTime().getSeconds());
              logger.debug("Merging is in progress...");
}This is happening when I try merge large video , audio files only. Is this limitation of JMF or any mistake in app.
Please suggest any idea or link by which I get some solution.

  • Audio And Track Help

Hi - I am new to the forum but have a problem which i imagine is very easy to solve Logic Expressif you know how.
Say i record a sample or instrument on Audio 1. Say i then want to use that same sample/recording on Audio 2 in the ame project but i want to edit it or change pitch so that its different to the original. How do i do that without it affecting the original? At present if i try and make changes to the sample/recording i have copied from Audio 1 track into Audio 2 it changes the original in Audio 1. can anyone help?

If you have cloned regions you can make them into independent by selecting it/them and choosing 'Convert Regions to New Regions' under the Audio menu.

  • Import and export help

Ok here's the problem I have been using imovie 08 to import from a jvc gz155g hdd camcorder then exporting the finished product as a small movie with quicktime setting it to steaming-medium and the end result was fine but now I have switched to FCE and find that using the same way causes the quicktime movie to look squashed using the same settings as i did in imovie to export.
Is there any way I can export and get rid of this squashed look.
I have an intel mac, quicktime pro and the mpeg2 pluggin.
The camcorder records as SD and 720x576px.
it all works fine with imovie 08 but not FCE arggh

I suspect you are shooting 16:9 but haven't told us.
To stretch it out use QT Pro as detailed at the bottom of this article:-
    http://www.fcpbook.com/Video9.html
    OR follow these instructions:-
In FCE select File>Export>QT Movie. (Self-contained or not is your choice but it will have no effect on the quality).
Open this file in QT Player and select Window>Show Movie Properties.
    Select Video Track>Visual Settings.
Deselect "Preserve Aspect Ratio" and change "Scaled Size" to 1024.
Click "Sound Track" or the Backspace key and the image will jump to 16:9.
Close the Properties window with the red button.
Do the same with the QT Player's video window and it will ask you if you want to save it. Click "Save".
Then put the file in iDVD etc.

  • Sequence settings and export help please

It's been awhile since I've made a movie for dvd, and the last time was in PAL, so my settings are changed.
Now I'm making an NTSC dvd (Best quality possible) for a local historical group, and can't remember the settings!!
    Using FCP 5
A Canon Elura 80 videocam, not HD, just ordinary DV.
I captured the video in iMovie and imported into FCP
Created 2 movies: one 4:3, and one 16:9 (filmed it in this format)
    1. What 'export movie' settings do I need? Should I export as a QT movie, use DV Stream, or ?
I want to use iDVD to make the dvd, and I'd like it the best quality possible
    2. Also, my 'sequence presets' seem different. They're Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1280x720 30p 48 kHz. IS this what they should be?
(And I'm far from being a pro,, I just like to have better control than iMovie gives me; i'ld just like to set my settings and leave them for everything i do .... or at least know what they all mean so I can make a decision which to use
    Thank you
    Elizabeth

I captured the video in iMovie and imported into FCP
Bad step there ... you should capture in the NLE you plan to use for editing. FWIW, iMovie captures DV different than FCE or FCP. You my have lost so quality there, but it depends on which version of iMovie you used.
    1. What 'export movie' settings do I need? Should I export as a QT movie, use DV Stream, or ?
File->Export->QuickTime Movie. Do NOT recompress all frames, but do include chapter markers (if needed). You can make the movie self-contained or not. Drop the resulting file into iDVD.
    2. Also, my 'sequence presets' seem different. They're Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1280x720 30p 48 kHz. IS this what they should be?
No, not if you shot and captured DV.

  • Aspect ratio and exporting help, PLEASE!

I've been given a project that was shot on DVCPro HD tapes. The footage was already loaded onto a drive for me. When I bring the clips into FCP, they are 1920x1080 and appear squished in the viewer and canvas. If I click "anamorphic" in the sequence settings, the footage no longer looks stretched.
Great. Now, I need to export the footage to QTs that are a random 620x349, and the client doesn't want the images letterboxed or with bars on the side... they'd prefer that I just crop the images to that aspect ratio. It's for the web.
How can I do this? Everytime I export, I'm getting bars on the sides or a squished image. Thanks for your advice!

That's DEFINITELY not DVCPro HD settings are you SURE they match the clips? AND 1920x1080 is NOT anamorphic.
Also, how are you getting letterbox? Your sequence settings are 16:9 - not letterboxed.

  • Can PP make a video clip find its matching audio and pull it.

I have a SEQ that i created. I made 2 copies of the same seq.
Then i used the copy to ad the razamataz.
Then i unlinked the audio and exported that to an aiff.
I opened the aiff in soundtrack. Doctered it a bit and exported an aiff file from there.
I reimported that aiff and put it back on the TL .It matched flawlessly.
Then the client all of a sudden wants me to add another clip.
When i open up PP the original seq was no where to be found.
So is it possible to use the clip on the TL to pull the audio back to at least 1 clip at a time?
Can premier ad that audio clip back to the TL (w/ handles) or am i just simply facing a replace clip and re-edit the video situation?

Its not a large project.  38 clips, 9 SEQs, 14 composition elements, 4 audio elements
I am gonna chalk it up to operator error why the original is gone.
I think this is a straight up 'replace clips' and copy grade situation. Then i gotta reclean the audio.
I did figure out that the fastest way to replace the audio clip was to 'reveal in 'project' , load to source monitor and pull the audio stream.
Maybe CS6 will have the ability to "replace audio/video clip with original source" comand or something to that effect.
    Thanks for your responses.

  • FCP 7.0.2 - audio and video out of sync after QT export! HELP!

I loaded a self-contained movie of my project and exported it through Compressor. However, half way through the video, the audio and video went out of sync.
This has never happened before — only since I upgraded to 10.6.3 and FCP 7.0.2/Compressor 3.5.2
    HELP!

  • Audio and Video out of Sync after Pro Res export

I´m getting an audio/video sync issue when I´m exporting to Pro Res.
I started off in a HDV1080i50 sequence. Audio sampling rate is 48khz. (16 bit depth)
The sequence is less than 20 minutes long. It plays correctly on the timeline.
When I export the sequence for DVD and view it on a set top it plays absolutely fine.
When I export the video to ProRes (422 HQ - I used Export using Quicktime Conversion) and the audio to AIFF, they quickly go out of sync. This was brought to my attention first by the guys who were making the DigiBeta master, and when I view the exported material in a Pro Res sequence I can see it for myself.
The audio and video clips are of the exact same duration.
    Possible issues...
Some of the narration was recorded at 44.1 khz. I didn´t resample it (I´m still a learning novice..).. but if that is the issue should it not have affected the DVD as well? All the other audio in the project is 48khz.
Most of the material is HDV1080i50..but one clip used was originally an NTSC clip and therefore a different frame rate. However I converted it to a 25fps clip and this is reflected in the vid rate column in the browser where it says 25fps.
Final point, the exported AIFF files..when I import them back into the HDV1080i50 sequence and play back, it is perfectly in sync.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, yes resample the narration to 48k 16 bit.  You will probably be able to reconnect to the resampled files.  Usually works for me.   That's a simple fix and will probably solve the problem.  If it doesn't, you can try to change the codec (compressor) in the sequence settings to prores 422HQ, fully render and see if that solves the problem.
Wait, just reread your original post.  Export from fcp using file:  export:  quicktime movie NOT quicktime conversion with current settings.  If that works without synch issues, use compressor to convert to prores.

  • Audio and video out of synch on export

    Hi,
I've searched the forum for this. I have a movie in FCE 4 in which the audio and video are in synch in the time line. The audio was recorded into Logic at 96, noodled, passed into FCE at 48 and then had to be lined up with the video. Then when I go to export, the resulting QT movie is out of synch, the audio now about one second before the video. I'm using QT conversion. My compresson is H.264, quality best, frame rate 30, multi-pass, 640 x 480, format AAC or linear PCM, various sample rates, stereo and mono etc. I've tried various other settings for export, but the problem remains.
What am I doing wrong? Many thanks for any help,
    Ray

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I think you're on the right track. I want the best sound possible, so I record into Logic, knowing I'm going into FCE I record at 96 so an even multiple down to 48. I think a .wav file though, and maybe that's the problem. Into FCE, but other audio there as well from the camera mic, and which I occasionally include in the sound track for ambience. All of this noodled a fair amount and then exported, the intent being to end up in 44, as it will be uploaded to youtube. I switch to 16 bit out of Logic, but the aiff vs wav may be the problem. Do think there might be a better way to do this?

  • Select and export multitrack to stereo audio file?

I have a live show in 16 tracks. I would like to select the tracks from each song and export songs as stereo audio file. I Can't figure this out. Looking for some advice! Thanks!

    The function is called Bounce....
Check Logic Pro X's Menu bar... File > Bounce and then choose which ever type of bounce you need... (Project for example)

  • Premiere Pro CC: audio and video is out of sync after export

Hi folks! I downloaded trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Captured gameplay with bandicam in Motion Jpeg Format (as advised) 30 fps and made a 40 minutes lenght clip. But there is an issue: in my project audio is synchronized with video, but when i export - it's lost (and i think to further we watch video, the bigger is the synch gape between audio and video, in increases gradually). I tried various formats, tried to use option "delete rendered files" prior to export, tried "match source" option, tried to choose various drives for exporting - nothing helps.
Help, how to solve this problem?

Handbrake is a free-download program that takes variable-frame-rate footage and converts it to constant frame-rate. VFR to CFR, if you will.
Going back to your reply to my first post, you noted there had been some kind of "hardlimit" to 30fps that you hadn't chosen. I'm guessing that would have made this track CFR, and what you've got instead is VFR. So you might try recording another bit after selecting that setting to hardlimit the frame-rate, and see if it works better through PrPro to export.
Next ... so, you've got a 30fps probably VFR video track, and it appears a WAV file is your audio ... was that produced by the Bandicam program while it was recording your program? Or is it from another source and you pasted it into your sequence?
