Audio and video do not sync when exporting

the audio and video content do not sync when exporting to media browser or quicktime.. at times the audio is delayed, or ahead of the video

Wow, I was just about to post something similar. I've tried 4 different times, wasted a few dvds, and tried various ways of outputting to solve this...nothing. Here's my situation;
• I have a series of stills, with music underneath...kind of like a slide show.
• That ends, both music and visual, and I go to a black screen/slug that is :22, to give some breathing room before the video that follows. Also, the audio track fades out at the end of the stills...it does not continue into the slug.
• After the :22 of black, I fade into a video. HOWEVER, everytime I've done that, the AUDIO portion of that video is starting while there's still black on screen, then when the video comes in, it's way behind.
I've adjust the audio to now end before the slug, thinking that was somehow making iMovie go wonky. Didn't work. I've wasted a few dvds before I got smart and started checking before burning. And still, everytime, that section is not syncing, but, i syncs in iMovie, where I made the video.
This is HUGELY frustrating.

Audio and Video are not synced up only when I view my project in full screen. I can watch it in the project viewer the audio and video play as they should. I have a presentation tomorrow and I can't figure this out. What am I doing wrong?

Have you updated to version 9.0.2 - this Software Update was released a couple of days ago and fixes audio sync problems as well as improving stability in iMovie '11.

  • Do you have fix for Photo Booth Audio and Video are not syncing properly, Do you have fix for Photo Booth Audio and Video are not syncing properly

My audio and video are not syncing properly. There is a lag from the audio to the video.  Does anyone have a permanent fix for Photo Booth where the Audio and Video are not syncing properly?

If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads. You aren't the only one having this problem.
One person having a Photo Booth problem, although not the same one as you are having solved it by running Disk Utility/Repair Permissions.

Thanks for your reply.  Excuse my referring to you as "Kevin".  I'm new to the Adobe Community.  I have also referenced another article which is seemingly a bit easier to fix for such a non-technical woman like myself.  I'm going to try both solutions.  Whichever works I'll be sure to reply to the thread with my findings.  I found this article which provides the following solution:  http://blog.flickharrison.com/2012/04/problem-solving-in-adobe-premiere-audio-glitches-and -sync/

  • Audio and video out of sync when using quicktime conversion

    hello,
i am editing a hdv project and want to export to quicktime. the client needs it in a specific size (700x394). they do not want the video in the file compressed, just the size of image. they are compressing the video through flash for the web. anyways, i used to just use quicktime conversion, custom size and use 700x394, but now when i do that the audio and video are sparadically out of sync in the product. the wierd thing is that the project plays fine in the timeline, but when i export the problem occours. i then, exported to a full res fcp movie and it is fine. then tired reexporting through qt pro to 700x394. when i did this their were no sync issues but the quality of the file was not so good, it look more pixely, certainly not as good as when i did it using quicktime conversion.
how can i export through fcp to get the 700x394 file? someone said 'use current settings' instead of using quicktime conversion? how do i do this? what do i need to do and what are my settings?
any help is appreciated. thanks a ton in advance.
    cheers,
    clay

What format are you converting the HDV to?
If it's animation, it is quite possible your computer can't pull the data rate. In this case it would be a processor / hard drive issue not an out of sync issue.

  • Audio and video do not sync

The audio and video in idvd are fine. I burned my movie to a dvd. The audio is ahead of the video in several spots. I even went back to imovie and deleted the un-synced clips. I brought them back in as new. I still have the same problem????

    Hi jopin
Welcome to apple discussions. Are you using a tape based mini dv camcorder by any chance? If so, most often audio sync issue actually starts in your camcorder's audio settings then over to iMovie and lastly to iDvd. Make sure that the video you are using is 16bit only and not 12bit. Check your camera settings. Chances are it's currently set to 12 bit as opposed to 16 bit audio. If you recently changed out a memory battery in the camera or camcorder, you may want to note that some camcorders default right back to 12 bit and you must make the extra effort to reset to 16 bit. Hopefully setting the audio on the camera to 16-bit will prevent future problems when it comes to out of sync audio. Just as important, make sure the camera is among those supported by iMovie (see link below). Please tell us exactly what type of camera or camcorder you used and which settings. Model numbers are helpful. Might wish to verify that your camera / camcorder is on this list:

I found the following "possible remedy" on the internet. Perhaps it will work (maybe not). You'll have to let us know.
    1. Open iMovie by clicking the program icon on the dock at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Choose "File," then "Import," then select the video file you have been attempting to burn onto a DVD. In a moment, the video file will load onto the screen.
    3. Double-click the video file, then click "Share." From the pull-down menu, click "Export Movie using QuickTime." A new export window will appear on the screen.
    4. Choose "Options" on the bottom of the screen, and a video/audio options display will appear. Click the audio options and choose the bit rate. Select "16-bit" as the bit rate and click "OK." Title the video and select a location to save the file to, then click "OK." The video file will export with the new bit rate.
    5. Open iDVD and import the video into the program as you did before. Now click "Burn," and the DVD will copy onto the DVD, this time without any sync problems.
Hope this helps but if not just come on back. Good luck.

  • Audio and video out of sync after exporting sequence

I'm a FCP user since years, but not so common with HD footage. Therefore I have an issue with my finished edited movie after exporting: Video and Audio are out of sync.
    My sequence settings are: HDV1080i50, 25fps, 48kHz, 16bit, Stereo. I used File-> Export-> Quicktime Movie -> Current Settings
Sequence has a duration of 61 minutes and 38 sec. I tried to find out where's the problem and exported audio and video seperated. This results in:
Video is 61 minutes and 27 sec long
Audio is 61 minutes and 38 sec long
That means exported video is shorter than original sequence.
    What could that be ?

I had the same problem with a Panasonic camera, even filming at 30 fps. I was able to fix it; see [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1783029&tstart=0]. It's a frustating problem, to be sure. You might have to use Easy Setup a couple times before you get things to work properly. Not sure why that's the case.
    Good luck!

  • Videopodcast audio and video is not syncronized when you download by itunes

    Hello Everyone
I made some movies with the imovie HD. I publish them using the following settings:
    video:MP4 H.264, size:320x240, 256kbits/s, 30fps, automatic
    Audio:AAC 128 kpbs, stereo 44,1khz, superior
    website:http://itmvodcast.blogspot.com/
    URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/shareknowledge
Does anybody knows why when I download the videos using itunes there is not syncronized the video and audio?
    Carlos

I have looked a little bit more, and it seems as though the video is lagging behind, not the other way around. Video seems choppy, but the audio is playing perfectly. Music Videos are suffering from the same problem as well. Also, when I sync to my iPod Touch 16GB, audio & video match up perfectly.
I still have no idea how to fix this. Please help.

  • Audio and Video do not Sync on movie or TV show playback. Voice and video do not match

I am using the latest version of Itunes and the latest version of Quicktime and Windows 7 on a newer business level computer. On any movie or any TV show I rent or purchase, the video and audio do not match on playback. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes, Quicktime and have even reinstalled Windows 7 recently for other reasons. Nothing works. I have to hit pause for a second or two, then it will play OK for a few mins., but the problem returns. Any advice would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

With Flash 11.6, audio and video are not in sync. Video is slower. Using Firefox 20.0.1

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

  • Audio And Video out of sync in Final Cut, but not in quicktime

I heave searched the forums to no end to find the solution to this issue, unfortunatley, I have not solved the problem.
I am using Final Cut 4.5 on a G4 running OSX 10.3.4. This system has worked perfectly for years with no problems. Neither the system, hardware, or software has ever been changed on this machine. Suddenly last week, despite perfect sync while previewing the capture, the Audio and Video were of sync in Final Cut, but when checked in quicktime, there were no problems. That is how I eventually figured out this was a final cut problem.
By out of sync, I don't mean it is by a specific number of frames that can be adjusted and then everything is fine, the sync seems to drift so that if you edit the audio to be in sync in one part of the video, it won't be at the end. Also, it is out of sync from the first frame played, not a gradual drift.
This is definitely not an issue of frame rates or final cut settings as will be evident by the steps I took below to find the source of this problem.
This is what I did to attempt to fix the problem:
    - Check drives using disc utility and repair permissions
    - Remove Final Cut Preferences using Apple guidelines
    - Switch hard drives
    - Delete Final Cut and reinstall newer version of final cut (since the capture files played fine on Final Cut 5.1 on another machine)
    - reinstall entire OSX 10.3.9, wiping the hard drive and reinstalling Final Cut 5.1
    - switch ram slots, and even replace ram with different sticks from another G4 machine
None of these solutions worked. Is there some hardware problem with my G4 that is suddenly causing Final Cut to play audio and video out of sync?
Hope you can help, otherwise this otherwise great G4 is going in the dumpster!
    Thanks

For what it's worth, I'm having what looks to be the same problem. Driving me insane. Here's what's going on-
    Editing in FCP 6.0.2
QT was just updated to 7.3.1 the other day (hmm)
On an MacBookPro machine, OS 10.5.1
Software updater says everything's up to date of course.
    DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) Advanced Pulldown Removal (footage was shot at 24PA on a DVX100b)
In Quicktime, the file previews fine, everything's in sync, everyone's happy. In FCP, the video and audio are wildly out of sync. I did a test inside of quicktime and sliced out a small portion of the media clip and did a "save as" and this small slice played in sync in FCP. However, this did not work for the entire clip. Clip is weighing in at 5.58GB for a 32 minute run.
I'm trying to multicam 2 tapes together and manually syncing these up is proving to be difficult at best. When anyone gets any ideas/leads/patches, let us know.
    Grr,

  • K900 audio and video are not in sync.

    Hi All,
New entry in this forum. I have this K900 phone and i think its an amazing piece or art. But not without its problems though. A perennial issue is when I am playing a video file, initially it plays smoothly but eventually the audio and video are not in sync. Dragging the slider left and right or pausing and playing agian only worstens the issue.
Have any body ever faced such issues? If yes kinldy share a solution if any.
