Audio book - DVD

Hi All
I am creating an audio book as dvd. Client likes to put the text of the book no syncing with the audio is required. Each page text is converted as an image. The user has the option to manually jump from one image to the another. While user is jumping from one image to another the audio should play back without any disturbance.
How to achieve this??

I told my client its impossible, but he gave me a DVD which is working exactly like this. Its an Audio -DVD which includes a normal video dvd also. When I played it on my Mac it played just like a normal dvd, but when I tried it on my Marantz Universal player it detected an audio dvd and showed me the MLP compressed audio tracks also. These tracks where totally invisible while i tried on Mac. On a Windows computer with Power DVD it was showing this track and playing back too!
While we play the songs on the dvd and can see the lyrics with forward and backward, even you can go to a section called Playlist which lists all the songs. There is no pause on the audio track!!. I am totally confused how they made that DVD. Its done by Sony India. Pls check this link

Well, I'm wondering if I can do things like multiple audio edits and speed changes in FCP and then send over to Soundtrack Pro without a hitch, and back. Also, any list of audio editing tips/shortcuts would be great.

I have just put iCloud on my computer this week. I have had multiple issues with it and my computer not working. Thought I worked most of the bugs out with updates etc, but now it will not read my dvd's or audio books. Why is this?

Not sure what to do? My disk drive will not read my dvd's or audio books. Was working fine till I upgraded my comp with Icloud.

I am a very novice user. Here goesl I have a MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz intel Core i5. 4gb 1067 MHz DDR3.

Can you please help with importing CDs and audio books?

I tried to search for this topic, but had no luck.
Have been happy with IPOD until today. On trying to import a new audio book to iTunes and then updating IPOD to install on it, I can see the title in both the iTunes Library and menu of IPOD. However, instead of seeing a normal 57:32 (or similar stop time), I am seeing 789:57:13.152. When I try to play it through iTunes or IPOD, it skips it as if it wasn't there and plays something else. I checked out importing a music CD, and find the same problem.

let's first see if you can get the CDs to import normally if you switch off "error correction" in the iTunes Advanced-Importing preferences subtab.

Trying to burn an audio-book that is too big for the CD?

I purchased an audio book (apx 2hours long). I tried to burn it to the CD but it keeps telling me that there isn't enough room on the CD. Is there a way to burn the CD to a folder, then split the tracks up to muliple disks?
Keep in mind with audiobooks, it's one file, but when you burn it, mulitple tracks are created. (kinda like an .iso).

DVD's can only hold about 4.7 GB's of DV Stream format (the format used by iMovie).
DV Stream is 13 GB's per hour of recording so it would take 3 DVD's to "store" your data for a one hour capture.
"Export" (back to tape) or use iDVD to "burn" an MPEG-2 version of your file.
Only the "tape" version would not require some type of conversion on import.

How to transfer purchased audio books?

I purchased audio books while using my PC. I have now converted to a mac. I burned my audio books to a DVD and I have reformatted my Ipod to Mac but can't transfer my audio books from the DVD back onto my Ipod.

I have only ever synced my ipodtouch once and that was before I'd bought the audio books in question on alaptop that got run over by a bus. (i know..... tell me about it).
I reinstalled itunes (not on the same one ) and authorized my laptop and signed in etc... But i can’t see where the purchased audio booksare.

Archiving audio books in iTunes

I have a number of audio books stored in iTunes on my iMac. Books can be archived on iPad. I would like to do the same in iTunes. That is, I don't want to delete the books, rather move them into storage so that I don't have to sort through 60 or 70 titles to find the most recent to transfer to my iPod. Can this be done? A number of these books are missing titles. I would like to be able to add this information, so that I can sort alphabetically by title. Can this be done?

w/r/t archiving on the iPad...Certain apps allow archiving books...the Kindle app for example. It's convenient and books are easy to retrieve.

Transferring audio books from nano to iTouch

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to transfer audio books from the Nano (5th gen) to put them on my new iTouch? I have tried dragging and dropping (doesn't work); copy and paste to a computer folder and the Touch (doesn't work) and I don't know many other things which I can't get to work either. I upgraded to the iTouch for more room and I hate to lose all the audio books I still have on the Nano. Naturally, I don't have the files on my computer any more. Any assistance would be appreciated. There are many ways to transfer audio files from an iPod. Start here:

For files that have protection, you can burn them to DVD then rip them. This works but it's cumbersome if you have to do it for a lot of files.

Audio on dvd

Hello,
I have edited in FCP, exported using compression. DVD Studio to burn project. The DVD playes fine in my Mac Book. Sadly, it's not working on another player. The other player displays video, no audio? Any thoughts?

About the uadio issue, using AIFF audio in DVD-R discs can (frequently!) cause playback problems most in stand alone players because the high bitrate. Some old players cannot manage the total AIFF + MPEG2 bitrate.
AC3 uses less space and a lower bitrate and well encoded you'll get almost the same audio quality (at least for the standard audience), and all players can read this format.
If you find your AC3 audio has lower volume/level than the original one, change the standard preset as follow:
- Dialog Normalization: -31
- Compression preset: None

Audio books wont go on ipod

Downloading audio books from Librivox, using 64 Kbps MP3 Zip, Choose Save As, Direct book to go into Music, ITunes file. Book is on HD Win7. on ipod:
"on this ipod is empty" little arrow on left hand side shows playlists I made for these books, there are "songs" within the playlists, but my ipod is still empty. have re started and resinked many times, won't transfer for real and appear.

I also cannot sync my audible books onto my IPOD classic itunes v9.2 - it will sync the music/books from itunes store but all of my audible book downloads have disappeared from my ipod. They are on the itune account but simply will not download to my IPOD. Microsoft is also reporting that itunes does not have a microsoft digital signature and so my pc refuses to upgrade v9.2 with CD/DVD devices.I really hate it when Apple does these upgrades without doing full beta testing for all products. I did restore my IPOD and I also uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes but v9.2 will not co-ooperate. Does anyone have a solution out there?

HUH??? ••••• Audio Books Have Swapped Titles!!

Two of my audio books in my Nano 2G have swapped their titles. It's very confusing, needless to say.
I have deleted them from the Nano and dragged the properly named copies from the Library. (Yes, I tested them in the library and they are correctly named). The new copies have the same problem (reversed album titles and artwork).
I have reset the Nano. but to no avail.
Since my paid-for copies are correctly named, I don't know what to do when they load with swapped names.
I did search the forums and Googled this issue with no luck.
Any help would be dearly appreciated.

Is there a LogicExpress 9 book+DVD for dummies ?

Once upon a time I worked with Emagic's Logic and Roland's VS1680 hard disk recorder. Roland and Emagic collaborated to create the software that would control the VS1680 and audio data could be transferred back and forth. However there was a simple learning curve to manage the software and hardware.
As i try to work with LXPress 9 I am lost with the Logic concept. For example I just don't get the "object" concept. I need a book for dummies plus a DVD to "see" how to do this programme rather then stumble around. Perhaps there are some uTube videos that I have not found todate for LXpress 9.

The Apple Pro Training Series Book for Logic 9 would be your best bet. It will be available in a couple of weeks and comes with a dvd with lesson files.
Also, sflogicninja has a great series of Logic videos but only one for Logic 9 at this point.
Finally, Groove3 has some really good tutorials on Logic (& Pro Tools, etc.) that you can buy or rent to view online.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. I can no longer synch music library and audio books, it says can only be synched with one of the libraries, anyone else had this?

i had to reboot my laptop, so reloaded itunes sofware, im now finding that when i'm synching my Iphone to synch audio books ive downloaded, , it says its synched with another itunes library ( my music) do i want to erase this iphone and lsynch with this iphone library, the music percentage at the bottom reduces to 0% in prep to erase.
anyone else got this problem?

try a new/fresh apple brand cable and make sure it is the only usb cable in use. this worked for me, i noticed i had no problem with a lighting cable. i did a restore from scratch and from backup and it did not help me...and if you cant sync than you wont be able to get anything but apps back after the restore

I can no longer find Harry Potter audio books on iTunes (April 2012)

I bought the first 3 Potter audio books in iTunes January 2012.
When I search the iTunes store, the Harry Potter audio books are no longer appearing. We just purchased the first 3 ones this year 2012 and would like to purchase the rest but they dont show up at the iTunes store.
