Audio Boosting

I have some low audio levels that I boosted to the maximum level on the timeline, but they are still not loud enough.
How can I further boost the audio levels? I have tried an audio mixdown and then boosting the level on the mixdown, but Im still not there.
Besides reshooting, or scolding the shooter , how else can I boost the audio level?

Remember, none of these solutions prevents you from reshooting the shooter (that's what you meant? You have shot him once already?) Not sure that scolding will do much good.
If you're on a pre fcp5 or earlier: duplicate your audio tracks or select the audio track in the timeline, boost the audio to the max, and then next (option-c, I think) and then boost the audio of the nest.

  • 8330's AUDIO BOOST DOESN'T BOOST

I have a two-week old 8330 CURVE from BELL MOBILITY.  When using the media player -- music, video, etc. -- I can toggle the audio boost feature on/off with ZERO perceptible increase/decrease in the speakerphone or earbud audio level.
A friend's 8310 (from rogers) boost is very, very, perceptible.
    I went back to the store, gave them my microSD, and got the same no-boost result on a new/different 8330;
Called BM tech support and he tested a unit there with same no-boost result.
Tech checked with his escalation desk and they said that's the way RIM set it up for the 8330s.
Is it that the 8330 being CDMA, which is intrinsically harder on the battery, is audio limited in favor of OEM battery performance (or the appearance of sufficiency)?
    What's up?
How do I get my boost to boost.  The levels are a tide too low when listening while in noisier places.
     Thanks,

Make sure when you go to play it that you turn the Shuffle on to linear play, not Shuffle play. Audiobooks won't play when it is set to shuffle.

Welcome to the forum, s.destination. Sorry to hear you're having "audio channel problem." Perhaps if you gave us just a little more information, someone here might be able to help. Your decidedly terse first post doesn't give us much to go on.

  • No Audio Boost on Verizon Classic SQC100-5

Hello, I have a Classic non-camera on Verizon.  Headphone Audio Boost is missing from Settings > Main Volume.  Verizon is telling me that it's the OS, but I think that it's carrier disabled.  Can someone else on Verizon let me know if they have the feature available on their phone? Please, post your carrier if you reply.  Thanks!

Following up... Today I switched my number back to T-Mobile.  It saves me $50 a month because the rest of my family is already on T-Mo and it's only 10 bucks a month to add a line. Put a T-Mobile SIM in the phone, reboot, and guess what?  Go back to my settings and Audio Boost is there!  Just like that! So F-YOU VERIZON

  • MSI Z87-G45 Audio Boost color LED

On my MSI Z87-G45 I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn off the LED behind the plate of the Audio Boost logo. I disabled the sound card in the BIOS but seen no option on disabling that LED. I guess it is only a minor issue but the pink/purple light is really messing up my Red and Black theme. If there is an option to make it glow red that would be perfect but it kinda looks like the plate is just turning the white LEDs behind it pink.
Also this may be a question for another thread but I think I'm safe in assuming that my X-Fi Titanium PCI-X would be better audio then the onboard, correct?

Yes, that's why I have one on my Z77.

  • Z87 G45 Gaming, Audio Boost chip is reversed upside down

    Hi
First post now, so I have to ask something not usual I believe.
The board has just arrived with the mail, but I think I have an issue.
Thing is that the Audio Boost chip on the motherboard is fixed the other way,
Upside down. Meaning the written audio boost on chip is reversed, boost is on top and audio down, ofcource mirrored viewed.
My parts for my 4670k build have not all arrived yet, so I didn't test it if it lights on and works.
I would like to know, coming out of the factory fixed on the MB like this,
Has it ever been reported or encountered before, or it is a bad sign for RMA it?
Do you know if it happened again and if so is it operating property?
As far as the rest of the board everything seems ok, it's just this Audio Boost chip bugging me.
I will have all parts within 5 days, so any opinion before then is appreciated.

I mean that according to the picture above, the Audio Boost chip is rotated 180 degrees.
There is no heatsink installed yet, still expecting the rest of the parts over the coming days.
Ofcource if it lights up and operates I m good with it, no reason to replace the MB.
Fingers crossed, gonna find out when I set up the system about it.
I just wanted to know if it has appeared again on some other mainboards, if so, is it still functional.
I ll post an update after system assembly. Maybe a collectors edition in the end : )

  • Ipod shuffle audio boosting

So if the sound level goes too high the sound brakes and it's stutter.
That is not very well so i want to change it!
My question is how could i do that?

So i hope that anyone could help me!

No idea what you are talking about, please provide more information about what your problem is.

  • Audio Boost does not take effect

    I Sir,
I have Blackberry z10 New mobile. There is no option in Headphone Audio Effect. Now What is the problem.
MOD EDIT: Subject changed to reflect a new topic
    msmani

Yes we've been waiting a long time for an audio scrub activate/deactivate function it's a good thing they added it.
But it would be even greater if it would work with keyboard scrubbing not only mouse scrubbing. However and it's very odd, it works frame by frame with the frame by frame buttons. But we all mostly use keyboard arrows I guess.
What is weird is when you deactivate audio scrubbing in the preferences (not using the Shift+S shortcut), it does work on mouse scrubbing AND keyboard scrubbing. But it's a waist of time to go to the preference menu each time you want to check just a single image of sound.
I submitted a bug request, and would love to see improvement for this in the next update.

  • Do I need to install anything for Audio Boost? Z87 G45 mobo.

Other then the question in the header I was also wondering do I need Sound Blaster Cinema software that MSI Live wants to install?
Reason I am asking is because I am using a Sennheiser PC 363D headset and trying to get the best audio I can from the headset. For some reason lately it seems my audio is not that loud. Just trying to determine if it's the headset, hardware or my plague (windows 8.1).

Thank you for your question, I understand that you are asking if there is an extension or install needed to support instant messaging in Firefox. No it does not. However there is a possibility that something might be blocked.
*Does this happen in all chat messengers?
*Are you using a proxy for your internet browsing? If so check to see if IM is blocked here as well.

  • Audio boost?

My audio setting is at its loudest and the loudest audio (file or CD) is a bit below where I would prefer. But, in some applications the audio is pretty near inaudible, not really good enough with headphones having their own volume control, none too loud plugged into my living room stereo system. I can't imagine a hardware solution that will give me more sound than this, and it does vary by application. Am I not considering something I should be considering? Software solution? I really need more sound in Finale.
    Many thanks,
    Jeanne

Thank you. (I don't have anything about MIDI in my system preferences. The MIDI keyboard is connecting thru a USB port.) I went thru every MIDI setting in Finale including the one that leads to the MAC OS audio MIDI setup. Output is "built in output" and I did goose that up, but I don't think it made a difference. The only input was microphone and line-in. I goosed those up too though I don't expect much . Under MIDI, my keyboard is there but I can't really do anything with it. The program either hangs or crashes.
One thing I found was that QuickTime playback was chosen for internal speaker playback. Choosing Finale's SmartMusic Soft Synth helped perceptibly.
I did go download a couple of MIDI files and the volume is definitely much better than I'm getting thru Finale. When Finale looks at them, they are definitely "recorded" at higher volume. So I'm going to put in a question with the guys at Finale.
So now it does look like it's an input problem as much as or more than an output problem? Any other ideas? software?
Many thanks for trying to help,
    Jeanne

  • Gaming 5 Audio Boost?

I have my system running great with my new Gaming 5 however it seems I am getting low volume on the headphones even with the volume turned up? I am using Turtle Beach PX22 headphones and with volume all the way up it still is kind of quiet.
Anyone have any ideas? I thought this board has a headphone amp built in?

Did you try your Turtle Beach PX22 headphones with other PC to see if it's okay?
also try reinstall the latest Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.7293 from msi website
    http://www.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-driver
try not to use the headphone inline amp?

  • Boosting audio - quick solution anyone?

Hi there - I remember in a back issue of iCreate that you could boost audio levels further by exporting and re-importing an audio clip. In theory you may do this over and over.
Can any one shed any light on how to achieve this?
I know its in a back issue and i thought it would be quicker and easier to ask the pros here.
    Thanks guys.
    Pete in London

You could also download the free trial version of Sound Studio ..hmm, thinks: is the free version still available?.. or Audacity ..which is free!.. or any similar audio editing program.
Then double-click on the extracted audio clip to get the name which the computer calls it (..probably 'Voice 01', or some such..) as distinct from any name which may appear on it if you renamed the video clip before extracting its audio.
Then start the audio editing program, and click on File and Open, and navigate to where the audio clip is stored: that means inside your Movies folder (probably), inside the name of your project, and inside the Media folder within that. (..If trying to find your audio clips just from your Mac's Finder window, right-click, or ctrl-click on the name of your movie, and choose 'Show Package Contents').
Once your audio clip has opened in Sound Studio, Audacity, or whatever, you can adjust the audio level as much as you want, as shown here, but using the 'Filter' and 'Amplify Volume...' menu.
Then use File and Save, and that immediately makes alterations to the original clip within iMovie (..the extracted clip called 'Voice 01' or whatever).
You'll be able to boost the audio that way as much as you could ever want.
HOWEVER: be aware that boosting audio boosts all that bit of audio. So if you have a person talking quietly, boosting it will also boost any background sound which may be present, such as wind noise, general hubbub of conversation in the background, clock ticking, car engine running, or whatever else was on the original audio. So boosting it won't separate a quiet voice from background noise. If boosting the audio also boosts background hiss, you may be able to filter out some of the hiss using the Filter menu in Sound Studio, or whatever audio program you're using. If that doesn't do it, an expensive program like SoundSoap may (..or may not..) be able to remove a constant background noise such as hiss, rumble, fizz, etc, but can NOT remove variable things like background conversation, background music, wind noise, etc.
So boosting imperfect audio just makes the imperfections louder!

  • Low audio levels on itunes purchased music video's

Can anyone tell me how to boost the audio levels on purchased itunes music video's ?
I have purchased a few videos lately from the itunes music store and occasionally I find the odd one which has very low audio levels. I assume that itunes has not monitored some video/audio files closely enough when importing them into the in tunes system itself and the audio levels have fallen a little low on certain tracks. Have a look at some of the Eurythmics songs - 'Angel', 'Missionary Man', or 'Best of You' by the Foo Fighters for example.I have boosted these tracks by 100% within the in itunes track options, but its still a very low level compared to some of the other tracks I have downloaded.
I tried to import one of these video files to Mpeg Stream Clip to see if I could use the audio boost function within that program but it didn't like the video file ? I presume because it was an itunes purchased video, therefore a protected file.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or what setting I should be using, doing with Mpeg Streamclip to fix this problame if this program can fix this issue ?

yes i have exactly same problem. Was all working fine till I upgraded to iTunes v8.1.
TV shows, everything works fine... its just music videos dont show the video, no matter which setting I choose?
    Help please!!!
