Audio bounced as 32 bit AIFF, when 16 bit requested

Hello - I'm bouncing 16 bit audio to 16 bit stereo aiff and the results are 32 bit files I cannot use - does anyone know why this is happening - been through all the prefs and everything seems to be fine - please help
also, although I don't need to dither these files as they're already 16 bit, if I try dithering it exceeds the 2gb limit - is this due to the length and number of files being bounced?

The only thing that I can think of is that your system is corrupt.
Now the next step is to find if it's the OS or Logic.
Just to try:
1. repair permissions
2. verify disks and disk space
3. trash Logic preferences
4. restart the mac with the Shift key pressed until it's completely up then restart
5. upgrade to 10.4.11 (don't use Automatic updates but download the combo version and install manually)
6. remove Logic completely and make a fresh install
Obviously if one of the step should go well you would not need to execute the other (the points until 4. included can't be bad, anyway).

When bouncing, do you use the Key Command or the button on the Output Channel Strip? The Key Command only bounces from the Stereo Output. The bounce button bounces from the Channel Strip it is on. So if you want to bounce out outputs 3-4 or higher, don't use the key command, but the button.
The strange thing here is that Logic, when it bounces an MP3, first bounces an AIFF, which at the end of the bounce process is being converted to MP3, so I can't imagine how you can get a silent AIFF and a normal MP3.
How have you listened to those bounces? iTunes? Quicklook? Quicktime?

You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings. I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.

However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part. Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings. You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

What you could do now is break up your video into smaller parts and render them out, then assemble them again as a whole.
I know this is not the best fix, but it might work.
You can duplicate an edit in the main screen, then delete the last bits and export,
do the same for the other half.
Then import the two bits (or more if you need) in a new edit.
Out of curiosity, can you post what format the video is in?
Copy a video straight from the camera to your computer.
Open it in Quicktime player, and with out playing type Apple + i
or Control + i for PCs
It should tell you lots of info about the video, and might help us to see what is wrong.

The audio in my 10 bit uncompressed quicktime files is not showing up in quicktime X or FCP X but can be seen in Quicktime 7.
If I open in QUicktime 7 and hit save it then displays the audio files in QTX and FCPX. Why?
I have 12 TB of footage with over 1000 takes. Surely I dont have to open up every single clip to force it to see the audio right?
Is this a codec thing? Yes I know I know. I could run it through automator but I shouldn't have to. Incidently is this something compressor can do.

Divx has been used by pirates your many years. I think the studios have shunned it and XVID because it is used in nearly all pirated movies.
You can still make blu-rays and play from a computer as data (no burner needed). That's what I'm doing. Mostly because I find it hard to encode XVID and DIVX. I'm sure if I looked into there are some programs that it would be the most efficient viewing codec.
Put your media on a small portable harddrive or USB thunbdrive then hook it up to the WD TV HD Media Player(with remote) and you can watch hours worth of full HD anywhere you go. HDMI out, rca out at ton of supported dormats and the of an internal harddrive. With remote.

I think that bluray mpeg and blue ray h264 both look great and the file sizes are reasonable. I get good stuff with a bitrate of 15,000 for 720 and 25,000 or 30,000. Especially when when using 2 pass VBR.
The reason I haven't learned to encode good DIVX/XVID files is because they have any commercial value (yet..) so i need to concentrate on blu-rays.
If your doing it for your pleasure/fun then look into other encoding programs for DIVX. Hands down it's the best quality for size codec out there.

I get video every time. HBO to Go , Xfinity, ABC, Youtube, etc...
just no audio. Any suggestions?

I had not tried it with mine since upgrading to iOS 5, so I just did. I'm using a small Vizio HDTV. I did not try YouTube, but did try several videos and musical numbers. In all cases there was sound, including stereo when the source had it.
I assume you are getting sound from the iPad when the adapter is not connected, so the volume is not turned down. Dah*veed's suggestion to reset may be what you need.

Vado audio out of synch with video when I transfer it out of Vado Centralk I have a very important video I took that runs fine in Vado Central. However, when I try transferring it anywhere else (Facebook, Photobucket, iMovie) the audio speeds up and makes my son sound like a chipmunk.
My computer is a MacBook OS 0.5.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 processor, 2GB memory, which should meet the system requirements.
I've been going back and forth with customer-no-service and their last suggestion was that there's nothing wrong with the camera or Vado Central and that Facebook, Photobucket and iMovie must all be independently having the exact same problem

Yes, it sounds the same (too fast) no matter what computer we try it from. I've tried burning a DVD every way I can think of and when we try to play it on our DVD player we still have chipmunk audio.
I am BEYOND frustrated with Vado's customer-no-service. They keep insisting that since it will play in Vado Central I don't have a problem. I bought this camera so that I could share video with my family that's across the country. What am I supposed to do now, mail them the camera?! It's absurd!

I think the problem is that the iPod got set to Manually manage music and videos. It needs to be set up for automatic syncing again. Just unchecking that Manually manage music and videos setting does not do it.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod in iTunes (using the device button), so that you see the iPod's "management" screen. In the sidebar (along left side of screen), there are two headings (Settings and On My Device). Under Settings, click on Music. To the right, you see the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box at the top for Sync Music. That turns ON automatic syncing for music. Below that, choose the option to sync Entire music library (assuming your music library fits completely on your iPod). Otherwise, you can choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres and make your selections below. Then click Apply.

MonoPrice.com has a digital to analog converter for around $25 although it looks like it is on back order. I would give them a call anyways. Don't get fooled by their prices, they are fast and cheap but good and the place to buy all your audio and video cables. I wired up my sisters entire home theater for less than a quarter of what I payed for my first HDMI cable which I didn't pay much for either.

Thanks, Bob. I've seen this suggested before. However, I'm at a friend's place (cat-sitting). He owns an older MacBook (almost positive) and he streams audio without Airfoil. All he uses is AirPort Express. He told me to simply click alt-option and the volume icon and a menu drops down, and I select "AirPort Express". But it never appears. All the menu offers is this:
"AirPort Express" isn't an option.
Why is that? Is there something fundamental I'm not doing?
