• TS3367 audio breaks while using FaceTime video

Since installing IOS7, the audio breaks up on my FaceTime video calls to my grandchildren. They have no trouble hearing me but have not 'upgraded' to IOS 7.
The problem is not my wifi—coincidentally I had FaceTimed in the am, updated to IOS 7, and then FaceTimed almost immediately with my other grandchild and discovered the problem. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Just found several other forum strings dedicated to the facetime issue.

So you would think Apple is aware and working on the issue and it will be fixed soon.

• Can one watch the head scroll the audio graphic while watching sequence?

Hello All,
There are times when I want to watch my edited sequence on the viewer, but have the audio graphic appear in canvas window (real time). Is this possible? I'd like the playhead to remain in the window, and not move off screen. I suppose this means that the audio would scroll right to left as the playhead remained stationary.
Thanks.

I'd like the playhead to remain in the window, and not move off screen
As far as I know there is no way to set a preference setting for this.
The workaround I use is to: a. select the window (e.g. timeline), b. make sure no clip is selected (sh-cmd-A), and then c. whenever the playhead moves out of the window apply zoom-in (cmd-kpad+) and zoom-out (cmd-kpad-); this command sequence repositions the playhead to the center of window (... until it moves out again!) without interrupting playback.
I want to watch my edited sequence on the viewer, but have the audio graphic appear in canvas window (real time). Is this possible?
Well, not exactly like this. You can do it with the viewer window: just drag the Video tabs out of the viewer window and you get separate windows for video and audio; you can position them where you want on the screen and the playhead will move synchronous in the audio and video windows.
However in the audio window you still have to use the trick above to reposition the playhead to the center.

• Audio problems while watching a downloaded tv show

What would cause Apple TV to lose the audio, but the show continues? I downloaded season 4 of Damages, and watched the first show with no problem.  Once I get 1.5 minutes into the 2nd show, the audio goes, but the scenes continue.  I've reset, changed audio settings, made sure I'm up to date, unplugged, internet connection says its the highest it can be.  I'm at a lose and would love to hear if anyone can help me!
Thank you!!

That depends on the source and format of the downloaded show.
If it was purchased from iTunes, then you can simply sync it to your iPod the same way you do with music.
If they came from elsewhere, they must be converted to MPEG4 or H.264 format and then added to your iTunes library in order to sync with your iPod.

• 5600-VTDR256 (Alternative to Media Center II for watching TV)

Hello, I would like to know if there is any alternative application that I can use to watch TV instead of Media Center II.
I would really hope that there are other softwares available that play out anything that the nVidia WDM drivers give them.
Reasons for shifting are:
When watching TV on Media Center the bottom 2 inches of screen are cropped in the software, and the picture is very slightly narrowed (as in its made a square forcefully)
Media Center always mutes my Wave/Mp3 sound on startup and on exit doesn't fix this and put the Line In on full.
Media Center on exit turns on the power management icon in the task bar which appears after reboot, and I have to turn off the option (Always show power management icon in task bar) manually.
If anyone can help out it'll be really appreciated.

do a search of these forums and/or google them for reviews/pros/cons of the following MCD II alternatives:
Dscaler 4.1.8 (i use this for watching TV)
WinampTV
VirtualVCR
FlyTV
ChrisTV
intervideo winDVR (i use this for timeshifting and recording)
powerDVR (or whatever it is called from cyberlink)
good luck.
sorry i can't help with your errors on MCDII. i had similar issues and deleted it.

• Mega 865 - MSI Media Center SLOW on Music mode (CD audio)

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the Mega 865, when I'm playing CD audio with the Home Theatre / MSI Media Center Deluxe II application.  It seems to VERY, extremely slow.  It takes about 30 seconds for the application to respond when I directly click into the application, and it does not hardly ever respond to the remote.  When I try to close the application once it has begun playing an audio CD, it does not respond very well, usually not within 30 seconds.  When I open the task manager, the CPU usage is between 90 & 100 percent.  I looked at the system requirements for this application, and the computer has over twice the requirements, so that is not the problem at all.  I tried updating to DirectX 9.0b and Media Player 9, but that did not seem to improve performance.  Any suggestions?
Thanks,

• MSI MEDIA CENTER

I'm looking for the msi media center software. Can anyone out there tell me how and where can I get it?

Hello : )
I have the same problem : (
I have FX5200 TDR128 with remote control, and AverTV card.
I would like to know HOW can I watch TV by MEDIA CENTER (with remote) and using my existing TV card.

• How to disable DELETE option in media center 7 extender?

How to disable or remove option "delete" in Xbox360 extender connected to Windows 7 MC?
After finishing watching a video, Media Center (windows 7) presents me with three options: "delete" "resume" "restart"
Supposedly kids or someone mistakenly pres delete, ignore warning and ,,,,,,, YOUR VIDEO IS GONE !!!. I have tried changing permissions, but no luck.

I was trying to solve the same problem tonight and couldn't find any solutions.  After a few tries, I ended up with a solution.  The key is taking away write access and setting the read-only attribute.
Steps:
Change security on movie folder
Remove inherited permission and choose option to set all inherited permissions locally
Change all user permissions to remove Write (That should remove Full Control and Modify also)
Make sure your own account is left with full control
Save security settings and replace the security settings on child folders/files
Right click movie folder | Properties
Check Read-Only so that it is checked and not blocked
The changes have been made, now test
Right click on a movie file | Verify read only and only your own user has access to write it.
Make a copy of that movie file outside of the folder
Attempt to delete the file through Media Center or an extender.  When it prompts to delete, it will mention it is a read-only file.  After clicking yes, it the delete will fail.  If your settings don't
prohibit the delete, copy the file back and continue testing.
Note:  Any new files copied into the movie folder will need the read-only attribute set.

• Cannot play music in media center 2004 on Satellite P15-S470

Hello,
Last weekend, I upgraded Windows XP Media Center SP1 to SP2 (since MS no longer supports it) on my father's Toshiba Satellite P15-S470 notebook/laptop. I found tonight that his Media Center 2004 refuses to play audio CD due to an audio error: "To play music in media center, install Windows Media Player 9 or repair."
After a long research on the Internet (e.g., newsgroups and forums), I found out this a known issue ever since SP2's release in 2004. It used to work before SP2 and other music players (e.g., Windows Media Player (WMP) v10 and iTunes v6.x) have no problems. I tried using the MCE 2004 registry fixes provided by both Toshiba and HP (just for kicks) and rebooting, but they did not help.
Is there anything else to try beside clean installing the OS with its SP2 and softwares? I was going to upgrade WMP to v11, but I found out that it doesn't work in MCE 2004. :(
Thank you in advance. :)

Hi
Do you have this sound problem just when you use WMC for listening music CDs or also using other players?
Is there any problem shown in device manager (sound card)?

• Rewinding or FFWDing Media Center TV sometimes results in TV Window blacking and loss of audio

I recently reinstalled Win 7 SP 1 Home Premium 32 bit and I'm still experiencing the subject problem that prompted the reinstall.
I'll be watching live TV with no problems and then decide to rewind a bit by clicking the rewind button a few times (the more times I click and the more rapidly, the more likely this problem seems to occurr) and the Media Center TV screen/window will sometimes
'smoothly' go black also sometimes with a loss of audio. The timer shows TV playback is still occurring and then after a while - 5 ~20 seconds, the picture and then eventually, the sound, return. This occurs both in Windowed or Full Screen TV viewing.
My system details are:
Intel DG45ID Motherboard with E8500 Core2 Duo 3.16 GHz CPU and using onboard G45 Graphics
4 GB (2 x 2GB) of compatible Corsair DDR2 RAM
Compro Technology E900F TV Card (receiving just DVB-T UK Freeview broadcasts)
4 x 1 TB Samsung HDDs configured in a 2 TB RAID 0+1 Array using native board functionality
All the latest drivers are installed correctly - chipset, TV card, Grahics, Audio and Intel RST as well as ME software etc. I've also tested with both Playready installed and not installed - with no difference.
Does anyone know whats causing this or workarounds to cure it please?

Hello Niki,
Many thanks for your reply and that very interesting link. I've reviewed that workaround more deeply and it seems to stop the screen blacking/loss of audio problem but according to one of the threads that it originated from here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-tv/losing-soundpicture-when-rewinding-live-tv-in/6e0f575a-4bed-4248-9cac-a6392b7b6d16 , the 'fix' also disables MHEG 5 Functionality, which for me, as a UK user of the BBC Red Button and other
interactive services, is NOT acceptable. The BBC have recently ceased their Ceefax (Teletext) service which has been superceded by the red button MHEG-5 based service so bug free MHEG-5 is our only option.
I see that the other thread I linked to has had no official comment from Microsoft - as a Moderator here (clearly someone with connections/influence at Microsoft to at least some degree) will you kindly pass this up the chain to be fully and properly addressed
please Niki? Otherwise maybe someone who is responsible for this field at Microsoft would care to comment here (and over on that other Microsoft thread that's been awaiting their input for some time)??
I realise that
MHEG 5 , despite being an international standard, isn't utilised all around the world (notably not in the USA) so I hope this doesn't affect Microsofts prioritisation of providing a proper fix to this issue.

• Media Center Keeps playing audio when connected to HDMI

I have LCD TV connected to may laptop.
The media center keeps playing audio sound when the HDMI sound output is enable.
Laptop: CQ35-214TX
OS: Windows 7

This is one of the BIGGEST reasons why I would want to take my PC and chuck it into the nearest heavily traveled lane of traffic and watch it get completely destroyed by any vehicle that runs over it then go buy a MAC. The idiocy involved in doing such a simple task is revolting.
FIrstly, and in no way am I directing my ire at you specifically, I have already performed almost everything you have listed for me to try... PREVIOUS to me posting this cry for help.
Secondly, I included a screen shot of the sound devices in my first post and indicated that my display driver/device is  Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000. Beyond that, I don't know what you are looking for.
Thirdly, and most frustrating, the document you told me to "follow every single word of instruction" (which I have previously done) doesn't even tell me to connect the laptop to the TV. It talks about the different kinds of connections but never actually TELLS me to connect the laptop to the TV and WHEN to do it.
When I connected my laptop to my TV for the first time it never tried to load ANY drivers. HOWEVER, it does show "PANASONIC TV" (the brand of my TV) and the monitor type in the resolution dialog. But it also show no other type of monitor.
The biggest issue I can see is that there is NO DRIVER LISTED FOR THE HDTV AUDIO in the sound devices. Therefore how could it transmit audio via the HDMI cable since it doesn't seem to even recognize it?
I am at my wits end. And I have NO INTENTION OF PAYING SOMEONE TO MAKE THIS WORK!!!! There is NO reason why it should not work upon conection of the HDMI cable.
What the hell is wrong with HP (or any other PC manufacturer - and Microsoft, as well) when the simple task of connecting a laptop to a TV is so complex and convoluted. And, by the way, I am an electrical engineer with multiple degrees... And this doesn't make sense to me!!! For pity's sake, can someone please give me a simple solution to what should be a simple issue??!!
Alex...

• Can any one help me with CD/Audio disc playback problem on media center m8200n running Windows Vista

I have HP Media Center m8200n Dest top running WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32 BIT edition. It  has MEDIA CENTER and MEDIA PLAYER. I experience problems with the computer being able to play CD music discs.  What happens is that the Disc will play only for 63 seconds exactly and then stop playing the track, the player will then skip tracks, settle on another one, play it for a few moments and then skip to the end and then play nothing. It gives me an error message that it cannot read the disc.  This happens with any and every standard store bought CD new or used. These CDs also do play on my laptop running basically same operating system.  This happens whether I trying to Play a disc or burn the disc to the hard drive.  The drives work great though as they do play DATA discs all the way through. MP3 discs play fine.  It also plays the DVD movies with no problem. Windows media player doesn't make it work, also installed VLC player and REALPLAYER to try some other players and they also don't work for music, only DVDs. They all only produce 63 seconds of music play back  from a disc. I've already tried Changing ENHANCEMENTS, UPDATING DRIVERS, UNINSTALLING THE DISC DRIVE and then re-installing back into WINDOWS but none of that helped. SYSTEM came with the integrated REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO on the mother boad for multi channel playback options and I've downloaded those updated drivers again but that doesn't do anything.  Thinking it might be a hardware drive problem I purchased a new LG BLU-RAY DRIVE/BURNER super multi drive which plays fantastic for any video format from Blu-Ray to regular DVD format with the Power DVD software but the machine is causing even this new drive to have the same problem with the audio and it cuts out playing the audio disc within the same 63 seconds running audio disc. . There seems to be a software glitch and I'm wondering if you can help.  Also the sound card seems to work perfectly fine. I downloaded I-Tunes and copied over audio files to the computer via my flash drive and when I play those files from the hard drive, or even the sample windows media files which reside on the hard drive in MY MUSIC, all files play through perfectly, fully, and with great sound. Audio out jacks in back of computer work fine as also does the front head phone jacks upfront. Something in the software when playing a audio disc/file through the dic drives???? I've got hundreds of CD and it's a bummer not beng able to lay them through the system. Does anyone think moving from VISTA PREMIUM to a upgraded version like ULTIMATE or even going up to Windows 7 might solve problem??? What about the 32 bit verses 64 bit editions??? My system should be able to run in the 64 bit frame work also. THANK YOU in advance!!!

Hi,
All dimms work individually?  Did you run a bootable memory diagnostic to determine the reliability? Did you run a diagnostic on the hard drive?  I believe that your PC came with PC Doctor and that you can create a bootable diagnostic disk. Did you create that disk?  Be sure to purchase memory dimms from a manufacturer that will stand behind their product with a guarantee such as Crucial, Corsair or Kingston. Buy directly from the manufacturer and they will stand behind the guarantee. Be sure that all of the dimms are identical. Use CPU-Z to determine that the specifications are indeed identical.
You have some options to consider once you can stablize your PC for updating the BIOS.
Locate a hard drive and use the HP external recovery media to build a VISTA system. -- safest method
Use a VISTA repair disk and at the command prompt try executing the HP BIOS update (Admin). -- safe
Try a bootable BIOS update process as suggested at this site. --  less safe but doable

While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this? Reinstalling the application does not clear the error, so I'm assuming the association is somewhere in Firefox.

Never mind -- I just found it under Tools/Options.../Applications, where I changed the incorrect association of "nlmcp" from Windows Media Player to the correct one, NetLibrary Media Center. Done!

• Premiere Elements cause problems with Windows Media Center while streaming to TV.

I was having the following problem:
The audio from the streaming process of a recorded TV show on my HP computer to the remote receivers, a Sony Blu-ray player and/or a Sony Streaming Player, results in the loss of audio signal at exactly 30 seconds from the beginning on either devices. The video continues on as normal.
A user on the Windows 7 forum had the following possible cause and solution.  His response was as follows:
I "solved" my issue, at least partially. Turns out for me a codec installed by Adobe Premiere Elements for audio (Main Concept) was causing mfpmp.exe to fail (you should see it getting an appcrash in the event log two or three times as soon as you start playing the media remotely.) This program is used by microsoft for DRM. I went through and one by one remained the various attached (non-microsoft) modules until i found the one that caused the appcrash. I haven't fully figured out if Elements is now negatively effected, but that's for a different forum.
I tried the quick fix by un-installing Adobe Premiere Elements.  The uninstall solved my problem with Windows Media Center, but I want to re-install the software but I do not want to recreate the problem with Windows Media Center.
Is there another solution for this problem?

I reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and the above mention problem reoccured.  With a little detective work I was able to determine that the file causing my problem was "mc_dec_dd_ds.ax".  I am not sure what this does to Adobe Premiere Elements 10 since I removed (renamed) the offending file.  A strange side affect, renaming the file did cause an increase volume. Strange.

• HP Pavillion Media Center m8020n audio add in?

HI, I have a
Media Center M8020n...
Product #: RX883AA-ABA07010#32#203211022006
running vista.
The sound has recently died, and I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I realize it's pretty out of date at this point, but everything still works, except for the audio. What I want to know, is which soundcards would be recommended for this computer? Also, I am wondering if the add in will work with my other inputs and outputs, or would those all be directly linked to the motherboard with Realtek, and therefore dead with the soundchip (D/Aconverter)?
I'm not really sure how this is supposed to work... Help?

All you have are old school pci slots; no pci-e. The issue is whether the onboard audio can be disabled in the BIOS. If so, any decent pci sound card should work. I have several of them myself. In recent years computers have gotten powerful enough that onboard audio is good enough to forego add-in sound cards even for gamers. The old rap was that gaming sound would take away cpu cycles needed to run the game where a hardware based sound card would take the load off the CPU. CPUs are strong enough now to carry any audio chores. So add-in sound cards are no used much any more but they are still available.
I cannot find the User Guide or anything else with information about the options in the BIOS so try tapping F10 and look in the BIOS for something like "onboard devices" or "peripherals" and look for audio and disable it. Now add a pci sound card and plug in anything you need into the sound card. You may need to go into the Control Panel sound settings and set the add-in card as default audio and capture device but otherwise it will do everything the onboard sound used to do, and better.

Something like the above would work fine.
