Audio Card and USB to SPDIF direct connexion as ASIO

tight
I think that you should add an option
for direct support of ASIO
and the similar ones in the operating
system or to do something like
asio to avoid the use of
direct sound and not function for
all functions in the operating system
without the need to install additional
programs for direct communication with sound
cards or USB to SPDIF card as
(xmos, cm6631 and other) to make it more professional to
use a computer as audio
processing and sound for listening to
music especially for audiophiles

DIREC SOUND is bad for using .
he did not gives the original sound.
sound is very muddy and compressed
why not introduce direct
communication with the cards as an option
for the user.
and it can function properly
without internal upsampling or
down sampling.
example if listening 44.1KHz
file 16 bits, it can
not internally raises 16 or
24bit 48KHz, so internally
it down to 44.1KHz.
be brought direct communication with
the prefect bit, ie the original
bits and Sampling. so
if I want to squeeze down
or upsampling samling
We demand, we audiophiles
because any internal change,
as 44.1KHz 16 bits, to 16
or 24 bit 48KHZ or other, or
then return back to the original
16bit 44.1KHz too entirely spoils the sound
it may not not feel the
normalen system, but when you have
a system of 5000K and up to feel
bigger difference. I have AUDIO NOTE DAC
5, worth £ 50000 USD and works
without oversampling because the guys
saw that it spoils the the sound.
DAC he is named one of the best
if not the best in the world

  • LAN card and USB not detected (KM4M-V)

I just formatted my PC yesterday, installing Win XP SP2. But the intergrated LAN card and USB is not detected in device manager. I tried HELP but cannot solve the problem.
I am a little confused. After formatting and installing Windows, the hardwares who don't have driver will be having a question mark icon in the device manager. But for my computer, no USB or LAN card is written in the device manager. How can that be?
I had checked my BIOS and nothing indicated to change the USB or the LAN card.
Where did i go wrong? I am using a MSI KM4M-V motherboard.
    Anyone can help? Thanks.

  • Audio Card and/or Interface Suggestions

    Hi all,
I have been running a Digi 001 on a G4 dual 1.25ghz and logic 7.1.1 for a while now. I recently made the leap to tiger and Logic 7.2 and have had a mountain of headaches. I'm thinking it might be time for me to get a new audio card and/or interface to use with Tiger and Logic Pro 7.2 and beyond. I want to see what you all recommend. I have a couple buddies that love their Motu gear, the 896HD and Traveler. I've also seen some negative feedback in posts here that say the Motu sound is a bit tough to deal with (brittle, more on the high frequecy end etc...) I like what I've read on Apogee, but the price may be a bit steep to get the wife on board. ;^)
I have an Alesis HD24 that I do most of my live tracking to. I then take the files into Logic for mixing, virtual instruments, etc. So, could I get by with just a solid audio card for mixing? I do at times, like to just drop an overdub or quick idea straight into Logic and not go through the steps needed to use the HD24, in this case an interface would be necessary.
Any guidance here would be soooo greatly appreciated. I'm sick of spending my creative time sorting out IT issues with my rig...primarily with my 001. Help a recording musician become a recording musician again.
    THANKS in advance!!
    Andrew

Gonna resolve this one as I won a Motu 2408 on ebay over the weekend.
    Cheers.

  • X-FI audio card and SPDIF

Can someone from Creative confirm to whether or not this card has a digital out port.
From the specs sheet and by also looking at the connectors on the card, I don't see one.
The only place I see the mention of a digital out port is on the Optional out box or rack (depending on the card).
If I buy the lowest version is that mean I can not connnect it to an external receiver digitally?
    Thanks

Not only this connector is not on the card, I can also see there is no CD Digital in 2 pins connector either, just the 4 pins analog CD-in. I'm wondering sometimes if this company cares about the customers at all. Their product always follow the best methods to get as much money possible out of the customer. I believe the omiison of the Digital out connector on the card is to force you into buying one of the most expensi've (Platinum, Fatality or Elite pro) version of this card.Message Edited by BrokenOath on 08-2-2005 08:23 PM

  • How do I safely remove my sd card and usb flash drives from my iMac?

iMac newbie here.  After years of PC messes and crashes I finally converted to iMac.  However it's not always easy to find what I am looking for.  The first time I disconnected a usb flash drive a warning appeared on the screen.  I neglected to jot down the instructions.  Now I want to remove the SD card for my phone, and I don't want to mess anything up.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

You posted in the iMac forum; to properly dismount any external drive from a Mac, drag its' icon to the trash can. Then you can unplug it. I don't have an iphone, so I can't answer that. You'd get more knowledgeable answers for that question in an iPhone forum.

  • SD card and USB key connection when user is logged off

Yes I have to admit: I am a switcher.
There is a thing I don't understand and I don't know if it is a feature or a bug.
I have implemented the screensaver to ask me the password after some time. So I have noted that when the Mac is in this state, if I connect an SD card or a USB key, these pheriperals are not connected. If instead I logon and I reconnect them they work.
Is it a feature or a bug?
I hope I have explained well the problem

It's a feature. USB drives must be unmounted or ejected before they are disconnected, to prevent volume corruption and data loss. The feature prevents users from getting into the situation where they accidentally plug a drive into the wrong computer, and then can't unlock the screen to safely unmount the drive before disconnecting it.
    That's my guess, anyway.

  • Audio, Compiz and USB-Drive

    Hi,
I get a error message when i try to open the volume controll. Gstream can't find any sound card??? (I installed Alsa with the beginnerguide)
When i stard the compiz-icon the window bar disappears and i can not configure it with the emeral theme manager ?
When i'm trying to open my USB Hard Drive an error occurs, which says the following:
    Rejected send message, 1 matced rules;
    type="nethod_call",sender=":1,12"(uid=1000 pid=2578
    comm="exo-mount)
    interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume"
    member="Mount" error name="(unset)" requested_replay=0
    destination="org.freedesktop.Hal"(uid=0 pid=1789 comm="/usr/sbin"hald))
    lg

You should start new threads for each of your questions, things will get confusing pretty fast this way. Also you have too little detail on all 3 of your issues, so doubt anyone can help you much. Do things like starting apps/vol control from the terminal and paste the error messages AFTER googling them.

Your notebook has three usb 3.0 ports. Have you connected a device that draws more than 100mA to one of the ports? That could overload the port and make it inoperative.  Some ports can be limited to 50 mA. It depends on the notebook's systemboard design. High power usb devices that are optionally powered by an external power supply should always be used with an external power supply. There are limits to the power capacity of the traces on the notebook's systemboard.

  • External Usb Audio Card Popping and Cracking sound with Satellite L500

    Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro
    Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly recognizes and intalls the drivers for the devices and I have sound in them (but with cracks and popps) so i tried using the official drivers sold to me with the audio cards but with no luck: The problem was still there. I tried finding new drivers of the audio cards on the official distributors websited and i've downloaded them but the problem was still there. Then i tried to delete every audio driver on my computer and just use the external audio card for sound but this dint help eighter. I've updated my drivers for my build-in audio card as well but again - no luck.
After that.the frist thing I did when (2 weeks after i bought the laptop) was to contact the store from which i bought my audio card and they stated that the problem may be eighter latency or high voltage from the laptop so they adviced me to try to lower the latency from the settings or to try and see if the problem remains if my laptop is only running on battery. I've tried both things and they didn't help. The audio cards worked without a problem on every other computer I've tried them on except mine. So they said to me that the problem couldnt possibly be from the audio cards .
What I did next was I gave my laptop to the official distributor of toshiba in my country so they can fix my problem. What they said to me was that the problem is caused from the version of windows which was pre-installed on my laptop and that it wasnt compitable with the audio cards (which was bizzar sounding because I've tried them on the same windows and they've worked, just on other computers). So I got back my laptop and changed my operating sistem from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit and on all of those versions the problem was there: whenever I activate a Usb Audio Card and audio signal passes trough it I heard cracks and popps. I even tried isntalling Windows XP but the laptop wants spesific SATA drivers for the installation of Windows XP which although i did find - they didnt help me install XP and I didn't want to go in to the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new one and so on because I am not so sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said to the official repair store for Toshiba in my town to put XP on my computer to fix the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to operate with software which doesn't have a recipt for its purchase ( which i didnt because i bought my windows xp long ago and i've lost the recipt)
I gave it for repair for the second time telling them that the change of my operating system did not solve my problem and what they did was they changed the whole motherboard on my computer, stating that the build in realtek audio device on my computer is not good enough to support an usb audio card or it maybe broken and they have to change the whole motherboard because the build in card is glued to it, so they did that but my problem wasn't solved. They told me that although I am using and external usb audio card the signal still passes trough my internal one and I have to disable it so i tried disabling it trough the control panel but this did not solve the problem and i do not have an option from BIOS to disable my build-in audio card. Another thing which I thought maybe causing the problem is that the two audio cards aren't working on the same bit rate and Hertz so I set both cards to 16 bit 48000hz DVD Quality (Also tried other options on the 3 cards i have) but...the same thing happend.
They told me that this is just my luck and that the build in audio card doesn't support this external audio cards and I should had been more careful when choosing my laptop at first.
I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:
    1) This audio cards work on lower version of windows and are supported by much older models of Realtek and much older computers (one of them was bought 2000!!!!! and my laptop is from 2010!!)
    2) The guys who were fixing the problem apperantley didn't go in so deep in to my problem because they didn't know what actually the problem was they just knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interacting with eachother, they didnt know that there is cracking during live play from the external audio card.
    3) I can not accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing models with chipset audio cards which can not support a simple external Usb Audio Card. This is totally unacceptable for me and I truly hope this is not the case!
4)They didn't try my audiocards on an other laptop from the same series stating that they do not have one at their dispossal at the moment so I will go tomorrow to a local store and try the audio cards by my self on the same computer in the store.
What I did now was I gave back my laptop for repair asking for a statement of the problem in wrtting with all details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop but I will be charged with some money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external audio cards arent compitable with the build in internal chipset audio card. If I give my laptop for repair and there is no hardware problem I will have to pay some money. I will do this but I am now mad, since this will not solve my problem and I am loosing time and money.
What I am asking here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please provide me the details of the chipset build in audiocard on my motherboard, so i can investigate if it is compitable with my external audio cards and contact the audio card dealers to ask them for their opinion. Or if you can tell me with what it is compitable with and with what not, it would be great. I personally think that this laptop should have no problems at all with running a simple external usb audio card but I am asking you, if you know something more about that.
If the problem is from the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least selling) audiocards which aren't at a normal standart but sadly I cant do nothing about it except complain to Toshiba and never deal whith such productgs anymore. In the other case if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem which is different and I will have to go to court with the repair mans for not fixing my laptop or not giving a new one when I have warranty which will not be Toshiba's fault and It will in a way solve my problem.
I hope you understand how Important this is for me and I hope I resolve the problem as soon as possible.
    P.S
I would like to state that I am well aware of the grammar mistakes I have made in the text below and I would like to ask for your apologies as I am not a native English language speaker.

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • Universal Audio Card in mac pro and logic together.

Hello, I am thinking on purchasing an Universal Audio Card and using it with a mac pro and logic studio.
Does anyone know if they have used or know about using a Universal Audio card (UAD-2 Nevana 32), or any other universal audio card?
Can you use this card with a mac pro and logic studio and does it have any latency issues? And can you use the Universal's mixor and logic's mixor at the same time, Or do you just use the plug ins on the UAD when using logic. Also it looks like it comes with one input on the card, so how do you plug in multiple guitars and bass and piano, or do you just run one input in and buy a input device for it (what would I need to buy for that?), Thanks so much.
    Lou.

Universal's documentation says that it is compatible with Logic 7 and Logic 8. You might want to ask in the Logic forums about hands-on experiences. Universal also has their own forums where you'll probably be more likely to get useful information from experienced users:

  • Audio card's programs won't run on vista

Hi everyone, I have a USB sound blaster audigy 2 NX audio card and a 32 bit VISTA. I downloaded the three patches available for this card and managed to make everything work (the card itself and Creative mediasource). Now the thing that doesn't work is for example: Creative graphic equalizer, Creative surround mixer, etc. Can someone please help me Because I always get this message trying to open those programs: The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit. Please help

I own an Audigy SE with Driver 6/3/2007 5.2..2004. The apps from the install disc don't work on my Vista32. Also in the Creative Mixer (from the updated Vista Driver) both CM3D and CMSS don't seem to work either.

  • X-fi Xtreme Audio card Digital I/O in Windows Vi

Hallo,?Recently I bought an X-fi Xtreme Audio card and installed it in a PC using both Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista. The card has to work connected to a Creative Inspire 5. Digital 5700 external decoder. I installed the card and used it with no problems under windows XP SP2.
In order to connect the card with the external decoder I had to check an option "Digital Output only" in Entertainment Mode - Speakers and headphones section. Now, on the same computer, I'm trying to use the card with Windows Vista.
The system recognize the card and I was able to install software and driver for the card (driver version is .4.65 as "Creative System Information" application reported). If I connect an headphone to Line Out connector I can hear music playing. But I cannot select Digital I/O output.
In Vista, Entertainment Mode hasn't any checkbox to allow "Digital Output only" to work.
So I don't have any idea on how select Digital I/O output. Anyone can help me?Thank you in advance.

Hi?I had the same problem, and here is the solution. ) Make sure u download the latest drivers for Vista. 2) After the installation u can goto the Control Panel> Sound Settings? You will see that there is 2devices listed. st is the Speakers configuration2nd there is the SPDIF configuration. Alter first the Speakers configuration to ur needs, enable the Digital out! > make sure u never select a frequency above 48khzAlter the SPDIF settings and test the sample rates that is given on the screen sothat u know what works with the card and not. If there are any problems leave the settings i gave exactly as instructed, and then goto urAudio Console and check there is a headphone settings and disable them.
