Audio CDs not showing up in iTunes...

When I insert an audio CD into my iMac (Intel) it appears on the desktop as "Audio CD" and iTunes opens but nothing appears in iTunes. I can drag the tracks from the Finder into iTunes to import them, but cannot make the CD mount in iTunes. Any Ideas?!?!?!?! (Also this is not just one CD it is happening with all CD's, store bought and burned)

In System Preferences, under CD/DVDs, check the setting for CD. It may not be set properly.
That is the only thing I can think of at the moment.

When I insert an audio CD in to my MacBook, the CD mounts on the desktop but doesn't appear in iTunes.
It seems that iTunes knows the disc is there, as I get the pop up box that says "accessing gracenote". But the CD just doesn't appear in the left hand pane.
I'm a fairly experienced mac user, & I've not experienced this on any of my previous machines (iBook / MacMini / Powerbook).
...any ideas?

When you click the cd icon on the desktop, what kind of file it shows on the finder windows?
Is it like musical note icon with file name track 1 , track 2, etc?
Try to click one of them and see if it will play automatically on iTunes.
Does it happen only for specific cd or all of your cd.
On iTunes preference > Advanced > Importing > choose "show CD" on CD Insert section.
On system preference CDs & DVDs > when you insert a music cd > Open iTunes.
Repair permission might help your problem too.

Hi Everyone, I work on a site called Truthdig and we can't get our latest audio (mp3) only podcast to show up in our itunes podcast feed, latest podcast episodes have been video. is this what is causing the problem? Could it be something else? Advice? Wisdom? Please help.

Your feed validates, and I can't see anything wrong with it. Plainly the iTunes Store is failing to pick it up: it's been known for the Store not to be happy with feed URLs with a '?' in them, but presumably you haven't changed the feed URL since the original episode?

like a say though, not showing up in itunes still
before it recently had this failure, it had shown up as corrupted and that it needed restoring (but i was holding off, as i manually managed all music and was hoping for a way to back it all up, to no avail)
first time posting here, would appreciate a quick answer because tempted to just click the 'restore device defaults' option

Anyone know how to remove Overdrive books from my iphone that have been transferred from my computer? They do not show up on itunes. I see a lot of answers to this question but they all are based on being able to see the books in iTunes.

How do I remove Overdrive books from the library that were downloaded onto my computer then transferred to my iphone? The problem is that they do not show up in iTunes.
I see this question asked a lot when I google, but they always give answers that assumes you can find the books in iTunes either under the books tab, or the audio books tab or in the music. They do not show up anywhere for me. They do not remove from the app like the ones I downloaded directly onto my iphone.the related archived article does not answer it either. there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

Importing songs from CDs - not showing up in my Library

I am aving trouble importing songs from CDs. I completed the process as instructed - using the "import this CD" button (I have done this many times successfully).
The import process ran OK. When the Import process completed, I looked in my music Library and the songs were not there.
I repeated the process - same result. Nothing in my music library.
What should I do?

When I load the CD, iTunes recognizes it and asks me if I want to Import the CD.
When I click on "Import CD", the song titles are retreived and show up. The iTunes bar at the top of the screen shows "Importing track 1" or "Importing the song by title". Each song is imported, and I can see each song being impotrted via the iTunes bar at the top of the screen. iTunes shows that the CD has been imported, and the system dings when the import is done.
This is exactly the same as every other time I've imported CDs. The only difference is that the songs do not show up in the library.

My MacBook is refusing to do ANYTHING with CD-Rs, so I am trying to drop some purchases from a DVD back-up burned on my Mac a few days ago, onto a VISTA platform.
I just dropped an album onto the relevant iTunes folder in this VISTA computer, and I was about to try and burn to audio, only it is not showing up in iTunes > Music!
The other option I looked into a few months back was to simply drop the tracks on this VISTA computer by simply plugging my iPod into a USB port, only it wont allow me to do this unless I reformat my iPod with windows firmware!
This is absolutely ridiculous!
What is going on here, why is this simple task turning into a nightmare?

I solved this. I simple had to select the tracks in windows explorer and press <enter> and they then showed up in iTunes Musis.

I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.
