Audio clipping removal

Is there a way to remove audio clipping w/in FCE? I shot some live video of a local band, but audio isn't usable.

rdodd,
if the clipping was recorded on the video camera, you're stuck with it, I'm afraid. No way to remove digital clipping of audio; it's similar to someone standing in front of your camera blocking your subject; no way to remove that. You either have to record it again with better attention made to the camera's settings, or record to en external audio source and sync up later.

  • How to remove audio clip I added to iMovie 10?

I created a short video, added audio clip from itunes.  But I cannot upload it to Facebook due to copyright rules.  How can I remove the audio clip?  I separated the audio from the video, but it's only the original audio, not the clip I added.  I looked through several posts but could not find this exact topic.
I see some posts that talk about inspector, but imovie 10 doesn't seem to have it.
When I click on the video segments i don't see anything about the audio clip that I added.
    Newbie here, please be patient...
    Thanks.

You just need to go back to the project in iMovie 10, delete the iTunes audio clip and share again.
(I'm not quite clear what you did when you said you 'separarted the audio from the video'.)
    Geoff,

  • Remove audio clipping fom old video

Is there away to remove or at least a way to tone it down in the video clip?

    Hi
    Please specify.
    • Audio Clipping - due to a too high gain (too high volume) so that it clipps
(as far as I know - audio is destroyed and can't be mended)
    • You just want to decrease the audio in a clip ?
(turn on the tool (in TimeLine window down left there is a small speaker - next to the right is the tool)
that gives a black line in the audio clips and drag this band down - in the specific clip.

  • Unknown audio clip that repeats itself - How do I remove?

Somehow, an audio clip found its way on to my system. I do not know where it came from nor do I know how to get it to stop. It repeats the following..."question authority...free your mind."
Does anyone know how to stop and remove this nuissance?
    Thanks!!

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you downloaded any audio clips for a cell phone by chance? If you are using Safari, click Window/Downloads from the Menu. A pane will open. If you have downloaded any audio files, unless you've cleared the download folder, it should still be there. Also, check Window/Activity. A pane will open. Click the black arrow so it points down. A list of recently visited sites will be displayed. Check to see if anything relates to any kind of audio file. Also, check your History trail from the Menu. If you can find where the file came from, then you can find the exact name for the file and do a Spotlight search to find out where on your drive it is and drag it to the Trash.
Also, check log in items. Go to System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items. A window will open. See if there is anything in the box related to audio files. If so, just delete it.
Try just doing a search with Spotlight... Command + Space type in: question authority ... etc and see what Spotlight reveals. If the search returns anything at all, click: Show All Select the file, then click the little white icon with the letter i in the middle... that will give you the path to find the file.

  • How do I stop background audio clips from playing while browsing sites?

Firefox is my default browser. I use Google chrome and Internet explorer sessions for background monitoring news site sessions at the same time. I have no problem with the other two browsers. While surfing with Firefox I get unwanted background audio clips that start and run by themselves. I cannot stop them. They run and then stop by their self. They are some sort of adware and I cannot find the source to remove them. I also get video clips sometimes that I can stop that run around the outside of the active window I am viewing. These is very annoying. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it but the problem does not go away. I antivirus software, registry change protection software, and registry cleaning software. The problem is with the default browser.
How can I locate and remove the plugin, addin or service that starts this annoying activity. I have no special unwanted toolbars installed. There is nothing in the installed programs list in the control that shouldn't be there.

I had a similar problem to this. EVERYTIME i started firefox, it would play an audio clip from a flash game i played a while ago, it would last 5 minutes before finishing. i tried the starting in safe mode, but that didn't work for me, so after that i then tried RESETTING firefox, and that has worked for me.
On another side of startup problems, firefox would also open up a new tab on startup, usually 22find.com or do-search.com. i know these are caused by a virus and have since deleted it, but it had changed a preference file in firefox causing it to continue to open on startup.
Having since done the firefox reset, i haven't had either of these problems AT ALL! would recommend this as a possible fix for you friend before trying any lengthy troubleshooting process or downloading any extra anti-virus removal software.
here's the like to showing you how to reset firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

  • How do I lock Audio clip at playhead in iMovie

    Hi,
I have been using iMovie HD for years.  Great program.  Finally had to move on to iMovie 10.  What a total disaster that is.  I have a myriad of issues with it, as does everyone else, but right now I am trying to figure out how to lock an audio clip at the playhead, as one essentially needs to be able to do for even pretty simple home movie edits.  Am I being stupid or has this functionality been entirely removed by some genius Apple programmer?  Why do I get the feeling that what used to be a brilliant and intuitive piece of software has been  completely eviscerated to the point of uselessness?
    Any ideas?  Thanks
    Richard

No, it's not been removed. You just need to drag your audio clip to the right place.
In your case, you want to drag it directly to the timeline and not to the background music well below the timeline.

  • How to split video and extracted audio clip at same time?

I imported 10 min of DV from my Sony HC96 camcorder to iMovie 6.
I selected a video clip and split it using cmd-T but the extracted audio clip below it did not split. How can I split both the video and underlying audio clip so I can drag the edge of the new video clip for editing by direct trimming and keep the audio dialogue in sync. I have already gotten the clip volume levels right in the extracted audio.
This seems pretty basic editing but I must be missing something.
    thanks, ralph

Thanks, Sue. Let me see that I have this right. I split the video then the audio. I then selected and trimmed the video to the remove the 10-15 seconds I wanted to remove. To keep the dialogue in sync with the speaker's lips, I then selected and trimmed the audio to the same time as I trimmed the video. Then I dragged the audio clip back up to the new start of the trimmed video clip. I did this and the dialogue and lips seem to be in sync.
I guess originally I had looked for a solution where I cut both clips at the same time and trimming one trimmed the other. But now I see I just need to do them separately. Thanks for the help, Sue!
    ralph
    Hi Ralph:
You can't do both at the same time, but you can do
them one right after the other. Highlight the audio
and split it after you split the video and be sure to
keep the playhead in the same position.

  • Audio clips cutting off at the beginning, after replacing audio.

I have received an fla for a complex game, and have been directly replacing the audio clips in it with new ones with the same file name. The game randomly chooses themes, displaying text and a corresponding audio clip.  After replacing the old files with the new ones, out of 20 audio clips, about 6 of them get cut off at the beginning. There is no discernible difference in the length of the clips, or empty space at the beginning between the original audio files and the new ones.
Is it possible that there is something happening in the actionscript that could be causing the problem? The fla calls a file calls Themes.as, this is the code in the file, case the answer is in there somewhere:

If you have not upgraded to version 7 you should do that.
If you have upgraded to Version 7, be sure to do the updates to 7.0.5
Go to the Help menu and select 'About Adobe Presenter' to see what version, if it is 7.0, to 7.0.2 you need to update it
drop down the help menu again and you will see an 'update' option.
you need to install in order - 7.0.1, then 7.0.2 then 7.0.5 - you cannot install all at once
another thing you might want to do is open the file you are working on in 7.0.5 snd save it out with a new filename in a new location to combat that pesky problem of the 'media.ppcx' file disappearing....

  • Premiere 8.1 overwrites adjacent audio clip when original clip sent to Audition

We have been editing a documentary in PR 8.0.1 for several months and the UI started to get really sluggish 1.5 weeks ago. I upgraded to PR 8.1 to see if it would solve the problem and hadn't checked the forum. We were able to get a couple of days of editing before hitting this issue and hope to get it resolved and not have to redo the edits. I spent a couple of days with support and decided to revert back to a clean installation of PR 8.0.1 to work on a couple of other projects while the 8.1 issues get worked on.
The original problem was orphaned PR processes (up to 4) that were left when PR was closed. We are able to get work done by terminating the orphaned processes.
The audio issue is a show stopper and I didn't see anything similar in the forums. I have an original MXF audio clip next to one that had been successfully sent to Audition. The original audio immediately gets the adjacent clips file when played after I select the clip and "Edit in Adobe Audition". The audio in Audition is correct. I figured out that I can take other original MXF clips and "Edit in Adobe Audition". I then go back by one step in the history tab in PR and then copy the audio .wav file from Explorer to the PR timeline. It still shows the adjacent clips peak file, but plays correctly. We are going to continue sending the rest of our .mxf audio to Audition and will try to replace the two bad clips with their originals. I have no idea why these clips are tied together and although the clip name is correct, it is playing the adjacent clips audio. Very odd.
I've deleted the PR and Audition Cache Files and Media Cache Files. No help. I logged case 0186055576 on the 29th, which is when I removed all Adobe products and reinstalled them. Audition is Build 7.1.0.119 and Premiere is 8.1.0 (81). I'm running on Windows 7, i7 920, 48 GB, LSI 9286CV-E RAID disks and Nvidia GeForce 480. I have tried it with  Mercury Playback Engine GPU and software only, no help. The sequence is DV NTSC 29.97 and 48 kHz audio. The problem clips are from a Canon XF305. I have old SD footage which is why the sequence is SD. There are also 5d Mark III clips with sync quality sound. The lavalier audio was recorded to the XF305. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. I work in Seattle and could provide all source files on a USB drive if anyone at Adobe is interested, please, please.

I think i have found the reason for this and a workaround for it. However it would be good to be fixed in the next update !
So what i think it was was that some of the recorded sound came as a wav which was 5 mono tracks. When normally sending straight out as an OMFI or to Audition it was seeing these as a full 5 tracks each time therefore one track would be the equivalent of 5.
Workaround is as follows for future reference :
Working from a copy of the project
1)Delete all video tracks and then render and replace audio. This creates extracted audio which you then need for the next step.
    2) Project manager the Sequence as it's just extracted audio it won't copy video files so should give a reasonable size folder.
    3) Open the project managed project which will reference just the extracted Wav's but it also loses the tie between the combined tracks
    4) Then one track at a time export out an OMFI embedded.
Weirdly the AAF was still having the same issues after this. So i believe that was a red herring. Premiere just seems to struggle embedding with an AAF. OMFI is fine though.
This is quite a roundabout way but works with no issues . Adobe please fix this, FCP and Avid work first time without all of this mucking around.

  • Audio clip warning & now no sound

I had audio until I removed a transition. The audio clips show a warning symbol at the front of each clip and now no sound.

i did just that 3 months ago, and they sent me a replacement within a day. (great service!)
Now this is frustrating. Here 3 months later it happened again to the other phone :/
about a week ago i began getting temp warnings again. I simply freaked out and let it "cool down" from the well airconditioning in my apartment for about a day.
This happened last night. All i did was take some of my games off and i had it sitting there for a good 2 hours while my GF and I watched a movie. I connected it to my laptop to sync a playlist i had made earlier, and the apple logo appeared. I didnt think much of it at the time, but when i returned from the 7-eleven right down the street it was still there. i picked it up and pressed home **one time** & the apple logo dissappeared my led went completely black and then shifted to that eerie black screen of death black that is acouple shades darker. Im debating on waiting to see if i can get it to boot in a day or two because still even so... I dont wanna be like "where's my sound!?!?!??!" again. Nothing i can do about it immediatly.
             o btw
    hard reset = fail
    dfu = fail
charger (pc & wall) = fail

  • ? about "Lock Audio Clip at Playhead"

I've always thought that the purpose of this feature is to make sure that audio and video clips that need to stay synced together in fact do.
Well, I just added a short video clip to my timeline--in the middle of the movie--and it moved all the video clips to the right a bit, as it should--but not the audio clips, which were locked to their respective video!
    How could this happen?

    Hi folks.
Since we last posted, I have discovered something new about the misbehaving audio lock. Happily, I learned that it does work for me - most of the time. I can select the audio, choose "Lock..." and if I get a yellow pushpin on both the video and audio tracks, then they are properly locked together.
Here's the catch. Sometimes I select the audio, choose "Lock..." and the yellow pushpin only appears on the video track. In that case, they are not locked, and adding video before that pin will lose the sync with the improperly locked audio track. Also, I haven't found a way to get that single pushpin to go away. I can place the playhead there and choose "Lock..." again, but that has no effect (no toggle off and on). I can select a new place in the same audio clip and choose "Lock..." but the pin doesn't move. The only workaround I have found is to move a bit past the defective pin, do a "Split video at playhead" to create a new video track, and then select a spot in the audio clip to lock with the new video clip. The new clip will get the correct double pushpins, and the audio is really locked.
Here is a screen shot of this behavior. Notice that I have several locked audio clips, and I have not placed the locks on the first frame of the video clips. You can see a defective single pushpin on the video associated with audio clip #23. I couldn't remove that pin, so I split the video clip and was able to lock down audio clip #24. (Note: the gaps in the video are intentional - when I had to change tapes. I'll fill them in with some photos, so I have to make sure that I won't lose sync.)
What do you think about that?
    Regards.

  • Udio to my clip.  When I bring it over it highlights the entire clip as opposed to adding it above or below.  Then I can't edit the audio clip.  HELP!!

Trying to add audio to my clip.  When I bring it over it highlights the entire clip as opposed to adding it above or below.  Then I can't edit the audio clip.  HELP!!

Just discovered this nifty little bug myself today. Boy, Leopard is really bug city, I'm definitely regretting the upgrade. I was glad to find the 'show in mailbox' trick, although then once I went to re-send the message, it duplicated it for some reason and sent it twice, so now my business contact thinks I'm a moron because I sent him this super large attachment TWICE thanks to moronic Mail.app.
Another interesting thing though, is that after finding the email via 'show in mailbox' and opening it, it actually displayed the MP3 attachment as the old Tiger quicktime player (w/progress bar) as opposed to when I first composed the message and it would only display it as an icon. I thought they had just removed that feature for some reason, but nope! Another bug!

  • Can't drag audio clips onto timeline in PPro CC

It doesn't seem to be possible to drag an audio clip directly onto the timeline any more without first importing it into the project.
In CS6, I could drag an audio file like a .wav, mp3 or similar directly on to the timeline.  CS6 would automatically add it to the project, it would be conformed, and its waveform would appear in the timeline.
In CC, it doesn't add it to the project, and instead it creates what appears to be just an empty placeholder in the timeline.  There's no waveform, and no audio is heard when the sequence is played.
With CC, it seems you have to import it into the project first, then drag it onto the timeline, creating an unncessary extra step.
Also, if after importing that audio file into the project you then delete it, it doesn't get removed from the timeline, it just stays there.

Feature is still there, has not changed.

  • Audio Clipping on Export

    Hello,
I edited a Wedding Trailer in Final Cut Pro X.
Originally I did not pay attention to the "yellow" tips on my music track.
I thought the music clipping and studdering was just my Mac Pro with too little ram.
    I then uploaded to Vimeo.
Many emailed me that my sound was too loud and clipping.
One person even suggested never go past 0 on the meter and my average should be around -12 with spikes that are just a tad over -6.
So I went back in Final Cut Pro X and made sure that spikes never exceeded 0 and the average sound of the track hovers around -6 on the volume bar to the right of my editing bar.
I noticed right away the tips of my music stayed green and had no more yellow.
Upon play back - No more studdering or clipping of music.
    I then "re-shared" to Vimeo.
Problem is that Vimeo still plays the audio as if nothing was changed.
I go back to FCP X - plays perfect.
I re-upload a 3rd time to Vimeo about an hour later I go to check - same thing. Clipping Audio on Vimeo.
Now I go back to my computer - click on the folder on my HD. Find the folder that says "Shared Items".
I can see the .mov file of my Wedding Trailer. I open it and it plays horrible. Lots of clipping on the audio.
    My question is:
Why does my audio play perfect inside FCP X but upon export the audio clips.
Should I delete and remove the "Shared Items" folder and re-share all over again?
    Please help me.
    Thank you for your time.

I have just been fighting with this for the last hour.
I am using the sound clips that come free with FCP X and on export to PRO RES 422 or H.264 or anything results in choppy audio.  I was using a 5.1 surround audio clip that was getting messed up on export.  The solution was to export the audio as AAC using quicktime and convert to aiff using Audacity but this mixes down to 2 channels.
What a pain.  I hope this bug is fixed soon.

  • Audio Clipping in Presenter 7.0.7

I am having a problem with the first half of a second of audio getting clipped at the start of some words in the audio of my published Presenter presentations.  I am using Presenter version 7.0.7 and PowerPoint 2010. I noticed that this problem should have been addressed in 7.0.5 but I appear to still be having it.  The behavior is the same as a documentated in the release notes of earlier versions, that is,that the clipping occurs the first time you play the slide, but if you listen to it a second time the audio sounds fine.
Is this audio clipping problem still occuring in v. 7.0.7, or is something else going on here?

I am using a 2011 MacBook Pro in PC mode running Windows 7 home edition, 64 bit, 4 Gig of RAM and Adobe Presenter 7.07 build 7746 installed in PowerPoint 2010.
Today I completed these steps to recreate the problem:
    1. I opened an existing slide deck with no audio recordings.
    2. I went to the Presenter tab and used the record button to add recordings to each of the 17 slides in the file.
    3. I used the Edit button remove small portions of the audio such as extra silence.
    4. I used the PPT animation tools to add animated appearances of bullets.
    5. I used sync to set the animations with the audio.
    6. I published in Presenter, opting see the output after completion using the setting of near CD quality for audio.
On slide 8 there is clipping of the audio about half through the audio for that slide.  In the audio I've recorded I say "Generally about $30 per day", and this is what I hear when I listen inside of Presenter in Edit or Sync modes. However, on the first time listening to the published version I hear "--enerally about$30 per day". If I go back a slide and play this slide again, it sounds fine, with the whole word being audible.
I have experienced this in several of the presentations I have created. Usually re-recording the audio for a given slide I can fix the problem, however, since I can only hear the problem after the content has been published it can take a long time to find all of the occurrences and fix them.
It is probably worth noting that I often have trouble with PPT/Presenter with the system  becoming sluggish/non-responsive for periods of time, and PPT restarting.  Also, after some of these crashing instances I receive the message when I launch PPT asking if I'd like to disable the Presenter plug in since PPT appears to be having trouble with it.
I hope this is enough information for you to understand what is going on.  You mention that I can share my presentation, but I do not know how to do that.  I am happy to do that if you tell me how.
