Audio clips won't stop playing in clip monitor

When I start an audio file playing in the clip monitor, it continues to play to the end of the clip, even when I use the stop button to try to stop it.  Also, once playing the clip, the application can not be killed with an exit or a close command..  the only way to stop is to wait to the end of the clip, or use task manager to kill the application.  I am running on Vista SP2.  The program monitor seems to work fine.
Any similar problems, or thoughts about a solution?

WOW, that does not bode well for Adobe. The cancellation of the tickets seems to be more common now. Not a good sign at all.
My one licensing issue was long ago. Back then, TS was in the US, probably in San Jose. I upgraded from an early version of AI, and had skipped a few versions. The S/N database in the upgrade package did not go back to the S/N conventions of my license. I called Adobe and in five minutes (including hold), had my S/N issue corrected, and the install went perfectly. All later upgrades were closer together for all Adobe programs, so I never had any other problems.
Times have changed now, and most TS seems to have been outsourced. The standard answer appears to be "no." I've suggested that others contact Adobe Sales, rather than TS for similar, and they seem to have all been helped, and in a more timely fashion. The normal response from Sales is "yes, we can find a way to do that."
I hope that if there is a restructuring of TS, Adobe gets it right. I once ranked them up at the top of the list, right behind the old WordPerfect, when they were in Orem, UT/USA. Now, they are Corel in Canada, and seem to have that "no" attitude also. At least I can remember the good old days, when a TS person would help write a printer driver on the phone.
Good luck, and do update us on both issues, please,
Hunt

  • AIR for Android: Streaming audio data won't stop unless I quit....

    I write an application (AIR-Android with Flash Builder) which can play internet radio stations (streamed audio in mp3).
    When I want to stop the stream like myChannel.stop() / mySound.close(); the sound is stopping but the stream is still loading (I can see it with a network monitor app).
    Streaming audio data won't stop unless I quit the application or I switch my connection from WIFI to 3G or from 3G to WIFI.
    I do not have this problem with Air for Mac and IOS.
    How can I solve this problem ?

    Hi Chris,
    I received a response from a certain Wang Zhe (from Adobe) about this bug.
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3070987
    It should provide an example of his test that apparently it worked but I have still no answer from him.
    Is it possible to contact him directly?

  • IPhone won't stop playing - it's possesed!

    Every time I use the ipod functionality on my iPhone, the player goes completely haywire. It starts skipping tracks on it's own, and is completely unresponsive and won't stop playing. When I relaunch the application (by holding the home button), the ipod functionality relaunches itself and continues its fun game. When I reset, the same thing happens. A restore solved the problem (for an hour). Any suggestions?
    Bonus * Does the same thing during video playback.

    You may have a defective unit especially if the same occurred shortly after a complete restore.
    Contact AppleCare or if there is an Apple Store nearby, I would head that way.

    Every time I've broken down and sent a question to the discussion board, I figure out the problem myself right afterwards. I worked at it for three days before submitting the question, then figured it out about 30 minutes later.
    I was using INSERT - ANIMATION to insert the animation on a blank slide.
    I found that what I SHOULD have been doing is using INSERT - OTHER SLIDES - ANIMATION SLIDE because that works beautifully.

  • Audio from flv player won't stop playing

    Hi, I have a swf loading in another swf that has a video player in it. When I remove the swf from the stage, the swf goes away but the audio from the swf keeps playing. Is there a way to tell that swf to stop playing from the parent swf?

    I have a document class referencing a class that contains the video player. The reference for the class is called vPlayer and the reference to the actual component in vPlayer is myPlayer.
    This is the code in my Document class that calls vPlayer:
                   if (window_mc.contains(thumbContainer_mc)) {
                        window_mc.removeChild(thumbContainer_mc);
                        next_btn.visible = false;
                        vPlayer=new videoPlayer;
                        vPlayer.x = (window_mc.x + 60);
                        vPlayer.y = (window_mc.y);
                        window_mc.addChild(vPlayer);
    and this is the code in the vPlayer class that calls the FLV component:
              public function makePlayer():void{
                            myPlayer = new FLVPlayback();
                   myPlayer.skin = "SkinOverPlaySeekMute.swf";
                   myPlayer.skinBackgroundColor = 0x70A16C;
                   myPlayer.skinBackgroundAlpha = 0.5;
                   myPlayer.skinAutoHide = true;
                   myPlayer.x = video_x;
                   myPlayer.y = video_y;
                   myPlayer.width = 550;
                   myPlayer.height = 309;
                   main_container.addChild(myPlayer);
                   myPlayer.source = myVideos[0]. @ URL;

  • Streaming audio data won't stop unless I turn off the phone for 5 minutes.

    I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")
    BLACKBERRY USERS! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE STREAM (dataflow) DOES NOT STOP WHEN YOU CLICK "STOP" ON THE MEDIA PLAYER! (and will continue for as long as you leave it on, and even if you turn off your BB for less than 5 Minutes.) I'm not sure if you are charged for these streams, but it seems that the battery is depleted rapidly if this continues without aborting it. See details of my testing below:
    > Access icecast stream by clicking on the link on the website:
         http://www.airprogressive.org:8000/stream.m3u
    > Stream consists of mp3 at 32kbps / 22050 Hz.
    > Stock media player launches, stops at "Do you want to open or save the item."
        > No connections started yet (viewing "List Clients" page of icecast admin interface).
    > Click "open", stream begins playing.

    So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
    It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
    The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
    QUESTIONS:
    1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
    2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
    3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?
    THANKS!!

    No, I'm using something like this :
    to start...
                       channel = new SoundChannel();
                                            soundPlay = new Sound();
                                            urlReq=new URLRequest;
                                            urlReq.url=mylUrl;  // url of radio mp3
                                            soundPlay.load(urlReq);
                       channel = soundPlay.play();
    to stop it...
                          channel.stop();
                          channel=null;
                          try{soundPlay.close();} catch (e:Error) {} // error or not, the sream won't stop.
    Any idea ? Did you try with a NetStream object ?

  • Lumia 900 Bluetooth won't stop playing music

    If I want to have my phone available for handsfree calls and hear the directional prompts using Nokia Drive in my 2011 Acura TSX (not tech package) I have to have the audio set to Bluetooth Audio. But when I do that the Music app automatically starts and plays music. I can turn it off (using the Stop the Music app), but it comes back on after a few seconds. How can I make it stop playing music?
    Tom

    Hi TomKer,
    Thanks for posting and welcome.
    Nokia Drive voice navigation does not use or support Bluetooth as audio channel. If you are able to hear navigation through Bluetooth this might indicate an incompatibility between your car system and the Lumia. This may also indicate that your car system is possibly sending control signals over Bluetooth causing the playback of audio to start.
    I'd suggest you verify this by connection to a different car system to see if you can recreate this behaviour there. You might also want to contact a Nokia Care Point or the Nokia Care Line (by voice, mail or chat) for further assistance. You can find them through the Contact us section on this page.

  • Synth won't stop playing!

    I tried searching for solutions but to my dismay I could not find one.
    For some reason, one of the synths in the project I'm working on just will not stop playing, long after the bar has ended. It holds out the last note and will not stop until I either mute it or stop the track.
    During the midi sequence, I used the sustain pedal but I don't know how to edit the sustain as I can't get it to show in the piano roll. Even then, how could the sustain pedal make it hold the last note on forever?
    My question is, why is this occuring and how do I get it to end reasonably? It seems to be a decay problem - it's just not ending. Looking forward to your reply!

    In the Piano Roll open the Hyper Draw view. Here you can edit the sustain CC. Also in the Event List you can edit control messages.
    Check the note length does not extend far beyond the end of the region too.

  • Audio from video won't stop playing in the background

    I have series of youtube/mp4 videos on the timline and navigation to go to different timeline navigation points.
    When I play the video it works fine but when I click on my navigation to go to another navigation point the audio still plays in the background.
    I made sure to turn off my content dropzone by each point but it still plays. the only way that it stops is when I manually hit pause or stop before clicking my navigation.
    Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

    I figured out how to reset the Youtube video upon hiding thanks to Heathrowe's answer and FigFrance's contribution to the thread found here:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/4979969#4979969
    The secret was adding .empty() to my video container.  Here is my functioning button code:
    Show Video:
    //code to embed youtube into symbol
    var youtube = $("<iframe/>");
    sym.$("video").empty().append(youtube);
    youtube.attr('type', 'text/html');
    youtube.attr('width', '640');
    youtube.attr('height', '360');
    youtube.attr('src', 'https://www.youtube.com/embed/MyFv6UKsW70?rel=0');
    youtube.attr('frameborder', '1');
    youtube.attr('allowfullscreen', '0');
    // Show an element
    sym.$("video").show();
    Hide Video:
    sym.$("video").empty();
    // Hide an element
    sym.$("video").hide();

  • Main Video on Multi-State Object Won't Stop Playing!

    In InDesign CS5. I have created an Interactive PDF that has a Mult-State Object of videos.
    I have One main video and 4 thumbnail videos set up in a gallery formation. So when the user clicks the main video or the thumb nails the different states change.
    However when a user clicks on the main video the video sounds as if it is being played twice with an echo. When the user clicks to pause the video...the video stops and the audio continues to play, but without the echo.
    However if I choose a video from the "side-bar" first the videos play perfectly fine without any echos.
    I cannot figure out why if the main video is selected it plays twice with an echo and the audio continues when I press pause.
    But how everything works perfectly fine if the user chooses the videos form the thumbnail "gallery"
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Also, while the video is playing, the video displays improperly: it lags and doubles (I'm not sure i was clear...).Thanks! Cheers!

  • When you are playing a song back and it says audio overload and then stops playing, what do I have to do to have it play all the way through?

    System Overload.
    The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time.
    (-10011)

    Much food for thought there - and, welcome back, Erik.
    I've had an interesting occurence of the System Overload message on a recent project; I had a software instrument track with a lot of FX plug-ins and always got the message as soon as the playhead hit the first region on the track, which is no mystery. I bounced out the track and put the audio file on a new audio track, removed the plug-ins from the old track and then deleted it. I also changed the format of the song and inserted a new part at the beginning. The thing is, I still get the overload message at exactly the same point as it used to occur before, which seems odd.
    It only occurs the first time I play it through, so its not a problem as such (one of those things I can live with) but it would be interesting if anyone could shed any light...

  • ITunes 7.2 Playing Songs -Won't Stop Playing Songs For About 30 Seconds

    Since updating, when playing a song from itunes, will start to play. If I do not stop the song in the first few seconds it plays for at least 20-30 seconds and the spinning beach ball appears. My iPod is malfunctioning and i do not trust to synch with iTunes. This is a brand new library - complete new system install. Welcome to the Digital Age..Any help or similiar experiences??
    Thanks alot Apple. 18 months ago lost couple thousand songs after an upgrade...
    What are the alternatives for portable music?? I just want something that works and is REALIABLE! All my iPods have needed repair or where replaced by Apple.

    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • My alarm won't stop playing!!!

    I'm using an iPhone 5 (5, not 5c or 5s or whatever) and recently upgraded from iOS 7.1.1 (or 1.11?) to iOS 8.1 and am encountering a big problem with my phone's clock/alarm app...
    After the alarm rings, I get to hit "Snooze" or "Ok". If it Hit Ok the alarm keeps playing over and over again until I go into the music app, at which point it stops.
    I tried deleting all the alarms in the app, and re-creating them. That didn't work. I tried restoring my phone and trying again and that didn't work...

    Thanks Patrick. I think I tried that and it's about the same. It just keeps playing until it's ready to stop. But I never had this problem with earlier versions. I wonder if zapping the PRAM would do anything to help the playback issues.
    I've reinstalled both system and application software and I'm not sure if I'd gain anything by zapping the PRAM. Any thoughts?

  • Music won't stop playing!!

    So on occasion I'll go to a site that plays music in the background, but when I close the tab for that site, and even ALL open windows in Safari, the music continues to play!! So even with no windows open, music keeps playing. I can't even find the link to the site in my history now either. Ugh. But it has happened numerous times, especially with advertisements that play sounds/music. Does anybody know if I'm doing something wrong, or is it just a weird bug with scripts that continue executing in the background and thus making the music play?

    Quit the game.
    If it won't quit from the Dock icon by control clicking on it and selecting Quit, then go to Apple > Force Quit > select the game > then Force Quit.
    If the game is opening when you start the Mac Mini, then go to: Apple > System Preferences > Accounts or Users (depending on the OS X) > select Login Items and remove it from the list of items the startup automatically.
