Audio Cutoff in Premiere Pro

Having trouble with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014. I imported MTS clips from my canon video camera to Premiere, but the audio drops off in the middle and there's no movement in the audio bar on the right. When I dragged the files to the computer, I dragged the entire "private" folder in the SD card. And when I listen to it on the video camera, the audio is fine. I tried saving the premier project under documents>adobe>premiere pro>8.0, but had no luck. Please let me know ASAP if you know a solution to this problem!

A few more question for clarification... does the audio indicator in the timeline have the same length as the video track? If yes, does the waveform indicate sound from beginning to end?
If the length of audio matches the length of video and the waveform shows noise from start to end, then there is some other issue. If the audio does not match the length of the video (which I believe you indicated), then make sure the "Link Selection" is turned off - that is the icon to the right of the magnet (below the blue timecode indicator in the pic above) before you try to drag (trim) the right side of the audio track.

  • How do I synchronize multiple *sequential* clips using audio waveforms in Premiere Pro CC?

I recorded a concert at my kids' school.  I ended up with:
Video in six separate clips (video+audio) from my Canon 5D Mark III camera
A single audio clip from my Zoom H4n recorder
The 5D Mark III can only record clips of up to 4GB in size, and clips 30 minutes in length.  The clips broken up by the 4GB size limit are adjacent to each other, but the clips broken up by the 30-minute limit have a stop-pause-restart gap of a few second.
On past such projects, I have used PluralEyes 3.0 to synchronize the clips.  But PluralEyes converts each stereo audio track into dual mono tracks, which I don't like.
I just happened upon this video:  http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cc/merge-clips-automatically-using-audio-wave forms/?t=0  It shows how to synchronize a single video+audio clip with another audio clip.  It also shows how to synchromize multiple concurrent video+audio clips with another audio clip, for multi-camera editing.  But it doesn't show how to synchronize multiple sequential video+audio clips, as I got from my Canon 5D Mark III.
It seems that every time I select multiple video clips, the Synchronize item in the pop-up menu is disabled.  When I select only the first video clip and the full-duration audio clip, I can synchronize them with audio waveforms.  But then when I try to select the second video clip and the full-duration audio clip and synchronize them, it breaks the sync of the first video cilp
Can Premiere Pro CC synchronize multiple sequential video clips using the audio waveform method?
I am running Premiere Pro CC version 7.2.1 (4).
    Thanks.

I'm an editing newbie but this was the very first task I needed to do, i.e. align multiple video clips with a single audio track. My setup is similar. I'm shooting with a Canon 70D, which breaks up video into 4gb clips, which are continuous and easy to align end to end. But the 70D like the 5D only shoots for 30 minutes continuously, so a second or two is lost hitting record again. My external audio was recorded continuously with a camera mounted Tascam (like a zoom) with a line in to the camera. So, in theory, the audio should be the same on the external audio and the audio associated with the video clips, which probably helps the software identify the identical wave forms.
I found that I could roughly align the video clips based on the audio wave forms and then "synchronize" the audio as shown in the video (Merge clips automatically using audio waveforms | Adobe Premiere Pro CC tutorials). I found that this aligned the audio perfectly but separated the video from its associated audio track. But it's easy to select the video and snap it back into alignment with its audio. While it would be nice to have everything merge automatically, using synchronize sequentially did not take much time.
    Hope that all makes sense.

  • Audio Gain Crash - Premiere Pro CC 2014

Working in Premiere Pro CC 2014 I'm experiencing an instant crash when using the Audio Gain function on a clip or any selection of multiple clips in a sequence.  The clip(s) in question come from a TASCAM DR-100 audio recorder I've used dozens of times without issue.
    ASUS G75
    Windows 7, 64-bit
    Intel i7-3630qm
    16GB RAM
    NVIDIA GTX-670MX

I found it strange that this was happening only on two of my sequences (timelines) in the project, while other sequences have no issue with Audio Gain.  It's either the sequence, or one-or-more clips—not Premiere, right?  First, I ran CCleaner and re-launched Premiere.  Clearing system crud with CCleaner seems to have aleviated the problem for *some* of the clips.  I could now perform Audio Gain functions on some of the clips.
So my next thought:  Clean the Media Cache in Premiere.  I tried that next.  When I re-launched Premiere and the conform process begain to do it's thing, building new files.  When it was done, ALL of my clips could be selected and Audio Gain performed.  SUCCESS!  The answer to Audio Gain crashing Premiere Pro, in my case, was to clean the media cache.
Interestingly, that's not the end of the story; there's still some funky issue with one single audio clip in this sequence.  But since the Audio Gain crash isn't happening anymore, I'll present the new issue in a new thread.

  • How do I join multiple (short) audio clips into one single long audio clip in Premiere Pro CS5?

    Hello,
The question is in the title but I'm wondering how I can join multiple (short) audio clips into one single long audio clip in PP CS5.5.  I put all my short clips right next to each other and selected all of them to see what options are available by right clicking and using the toolbar options at the top.  The closest that I got was to nest the sequence, but that's not what I really want.
I'd like to merge all the short clips into one single (long) audio file to use under the video.
Thoughts are welcome and  greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Melvin

O.K. This is kind of fundamental and you will need to learn up on this fully ...but for now...
Make sure you have the WAB ( work area bar )covering the length of the audio clips. ( You do not need to select them)
Go to the File Menu> Export Media
You will be given all the Export Options.  Choose Wave File
Select option for Export Work Area.
Choose where to export the file to ( HD location)
    follow your nose from there....
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cs5/exporting-with-adobe-media-encoder/
BTW - Why are you taking the audio to Audition anyway? What are you going to do to it.

I too am getting this error in Premiere CS5.  I was digitizing a Broadcast VHS and since I did not have a breakout box, I hooked it up to a Sony DV deck so I could connect via firewire and capture inside Premiere.  I was able to capture and import 1 of the 3 clips and it did have 4 audio channels attached to it.  However, upon closer inspection only 2 channels had a waveform.  I captured the other 2 clips the same way, but this time, Premiere give the error "The file contains too many audio channels."
    Any ideas?

  • Audio Dropout Adobe premiere pro cc(2014) "adobe player"

I'm having the following problems with my adobe premiere pr cc 2014. I'm in the middle of a big documentary for Dutch Television. Because of the really buggy adobe premiere I can't work. The director gets frustrated and we can't work fast. I need to restart frequently but still the problem persist. Whenever I hit the space button to play I get audio dropouts and the software freezes and doesn't work well.
-Audio dropouts, they happen randomly and quite often. It happens on a relatively powerful macbook pro r (2.7 ghz i7, 16gb ram, ssd hard drive, usb 3.0 external hd.
    - Bins take ages to load with thumbnails. Instead we see the grey square. It keeps on happening throughout the editing session.
    - Multicam, when playing timeline, sometimes it doesn't stop when prompted and it keeps on playing for a random amount of time.
I really need help. I can't seem to find the previous version of adobe anymore. Can I please have the previous version and can you convert my current project to work with the previous version.  Help me please,  Help me please!!, Adobe help. Help your client!Mitch W@

Hey Mitch, Thanx for your reply.
I don't it's false. The reason for that is whenever I get that "audio dropout" event, adobe reacts really slow and I can't edit fluently.
I've been busy the whole day trying to figure out what the problem is. I contacted adobe support and the remotely accessed my computer and see for themselves.
We opened the activity monitor to see what's happening. Monitoring system memory revealed something interesting. The free memory dropped low after working for 20 minutes. when the "swap used" reached 5gb I got an "audio dropped" event. So we purged the memory with the terminal application.
I restarted my computer and reopened Adobe premiere pro CC and started editing. After a few minutes it gave me an audio drop event again. Whenever I get them, premiere reacts slowly.

  • 5.1 Audio issue in Premiere Pro CC

    Hello All,
So I have the latest Premiere Pro CC with the most current updates and a Sony HD camera that records videos with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. When I create a project and import the files using Media Browser, I get the error message: "Dolby Audio Decode Licensing Restriction for <file path>", I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, the files are on M2TS format, I imported them from the camera to the computer using PlayMemories Home, the software also copies a M2TSMODD file to the same location. I've seen a lot of people complaining about this issue with CS6 but not CC, I've reinstalled the software twice now, is there anything I can do other than trying to extract the audio with another software and import the audio file? This is really a bummer.

I had this problem this evening 090813 after upgrading my Adobe Cloud Desktop.
I open Pro CC and had the  Dolby Audio Decode Licensing Restriction for (File name.......... )       Error
Previous CC progs loaded and worked with problem.
I uninstalled Pro CC - Restarted the computer - Re-installed Pro CC.
    Now working with no problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Strange audio problem in Premiere Pro CS6

    Hi
I have encountered a very strange problem. I am editing a documentary film in Premiere Pro. All material has been shot on the Sony FS 100 camera - imported into PP with the Media Browser. In one interview the last part of a clip has corrupted audio. At one point on the timeline the audio stops playing, and it sounds like a scratch on a vinyl record - two words repeating themselves to the end of the clip (See screenshot of timeline). The images are as they should. When I open the Avchd source clip in VLC the audio is working. When i Import the clip into Final Cut 7 using Log and Transfer the audio is working. My only other option would be that there is a software problem with Premiere Pro CS6. Any ideas of how to fix this issue?
    Version PP: 6.0.1
    Source footage: MPEG-4 AVCHD (1080/25p - Sony FS100)
    Version mac: OS x 10.8
Model Name:     Mac Pro Mid 2010
    Processor Name:     Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed:     2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors:     2
    Total Number Of Cores:     8
    Memory: 20 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 570 GTX
    Third-party I/O: Matrox MXO2 with Max
    Mercury Playback Engine: Software mode

One similar, potential problem, that can develop, is when the Conforming process is interrupted, before it completes 100%.
A quick way to rule that out, would be to navigate to the Media Cache files, and Delete the CFA and PEK (Waveform Display) for that Clip, outside of Premiere Pro. Then, when you launch PrPro and Open your Project, the program will recreate both of those files. There is a little progress bar, that many do not notice. Let it complete 100%, before even touching the computer. Test.
I hope that it is as simple as that.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • No Audio File in Premiere Pro CS6

I have a Sony NX30. I use the sony media importer to get the files on my computer and then use the files in Premiere Pro CS6. Everything works fine.
I have a new desktop computer. Same windows OS. I installed the exact same sony media importer and the exact same Premiere Pro CS6. But on the new computer, when I import a video (using the sony media importer) there is no sound in Premiere Pro. Not even an audio file. Just the video file.
Here is what I learned while trouble shooting:
I can play the video files using the windows media player and I can hear the sound. The sound is there.
I tested some older video files previously imported on my old computer and they worked just fine on the new computer. I could hear the sound and there was a sound file in Pr.
The files I originally tried to import onto the new computer (that had no sound in Pr CS6) I imported on the old computer and they played just fine in Pr.
The newly imported files on the old computer will not play sound when I try them on the new computer (I put the files on an external hard drive and move them on the new computer.)
FYI: the sony media importer has no settings, you just click import amd it works. There are no options to change anything.
Anybody have a clue what could be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • XDCAM audio issues in Premiere Pro CC

We run 4 New Mac Pro Towers at my shop with Adobe Creative Cloud, and we're editing on Premiere Pro CC. We were a Final Cut 7 shop until we were forced to choose between PP or FCX. I've recently been experiencing audio issues when ingesting XDCAM footage from my Sony EX3 Camera. While the video looks great when ingested into either XDCAM Browser, or when I drop the BPAV file into our external drive and bring it into PPCC, the audio becomes noisy and unusable.; while this same audio sounds excellent on all my other machines. I've uninstalled both the XDCAM Browser and Premiere software and reinstalled them, but have not had any luck so far. Meantime, none of my other machines are experiencing this issue. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

One way, assuming you are working in mono, pan A1 center and A2 right, this will give ambience to left and ambience and narration to right. If you are mixing and you don't want the ambience only track to change in level you will need to use subgroups but this will get more involved.

  • Why can't I drag in audio in Adobe Premiere Pro CC?

I am currently editing a film in Premiere and trying to drag in a few clips that contain both audio and video. They were shot on a 5D Mark II and are .MOV files. When dragging them from the media browser to my timeline, the video is dropped but the audio just doesn't show up. I know for a fact it is there, as the Source box shows both the audio and video when I play from it. I've never had this problem before, is there a solution?

  • Export problems with relation to audio in Adobe Premiere Pro HELP!!

I have been working on a school assignment for media on Adobe Premiere  Pro CC and have come across a very frustrating issue that I have no idea about how to solve. it goes under the category of a 'technical difficulty'.
As I have alot of interviews and talking in my project for my Documentary I am shooting on Bullying for my Current Affair I have alot of audio to deal with and with my Rode VideoMic Pro when in conversation in the midst of an interview there is a constant 'hiss and crackle' that one can hear when watching hence I have used the audio affect of "DeNoiser" to get rid of this and it seems to work great on my workflow in my sequence in Premiere as I have reduced most clips to -15Db's. But when I export my project as I have done several times, the 'Denoiser' affect doesn't work for the first 3 seconds + for all clips that I have used to affect for. At the start of all the clips used with the affect there is a constant hiss and crackle and after 3 seconds it fades out??? Please help me with this very unusual problem as I want this to be a fantastic film on your fantastic software!
    Thanks

I would not return Adobe, I would return the camera, it is not suited for editing. If you insist on editing that material and end up with pretty crappy results, play it out from a DVD player into a good tape based DV video camera thru analog in and pass it thru to firewire for capture.
To put it another way, when maximum achievable fidelity of video is 100, your camera is at 10% due to the heavy MPEG compression. You need to convert that to DV and you are left with around 8% due to DV compression, you then need to encode it again to MPEG and you end up with less than 1% out of a possible 100.

  • I need help with audio in my Premiere Pro edit

I recently recorded a gameplay with a song track in it. In the beginning of my video, i did a voiceover explaining what the video was going to be about. When im talking, i want to lower the song, then raise the volume when im done talking. How can i do this? If i need to be more specific let me know. Thanks!

OK, assuming that the gameplay audio with the song is on audio track one and the voiceover is on audio track two.
All you have to do is to keyframe track one to lower the volume while you are talking and raise it bak to normal when you finish speaking. It is pretty simple.
