  • Audio disabled when linked to port duplicator

I am using Windows XP with my Thinkpad T400, and bought a Lenovo port duplicator model k33415 with my computer.  I have a keyboard and mouse attached to the port duplicator as well as a PDA sometimes.
Whenever the port duplicator is attached to the computer, the computer speakers do not work and I cannot hear any audio.   When I restart the computer without the port duplicator attached, the computer speakers work fine.      I have tried everything!    Any ideas?

Hi!  Actually, I fixed it on my own.   Under audio properties I adjusted the settings for "Conexant HD audio", made it my default device, and under AUdio and then "advanced," I needed to set speakers to laptop speakers.  What I have not done yet is seen whether this disables audio when I disconnect from the port replicator.... then I suppose I need to change the default device.   You may not have the same problem, but at any rate, good luck!

  • Extract CD Audio disabled in AA3 using Windows 7 OS ??

Having searched the forum and found nothing recent refering to this problem I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
Using a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Notebook Pi3625 with Windows 7OS, I have just upgraded to Adobe Audition from CEP2.
Extract Audio appears to be disabled, I see my CD ROM drive but nothing in the Extract Audio Window works, it's all greyed-out except 'Get Titles, 'OK', 'Close' and the Device Interface Options is selectable.
Having searched this Forum, it appears there was an early ASPI driver issue with AA version 1, but nowhere can I find reference to the problem more recently.
That said, and as suggested on an earlier 2003 forum post with a similar AA Version 1issue, I have placed a copy of the WNASPI32.DLL file into the Windows 32 system folder, but this has had no positive effect.
I am sure this is something relatively simple, but it does seem odd that an otherwise capable program like AA should not do this straight out of the box.
I can extract from other programs, but not AA3
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Rob.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to a new Dell workstation (Win 7 X64). While I was trying out Burnaware disk burning software, I was having a similar problem with the program not recognizing any of my DVD drives. Apparently there is an issue with the Intel ICH9R AHCI driver.
A notice on Burnaware's website led me to the following link : http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17882&ProdId=2101&lang=eng
I installed the new driver and I can now access and load all CD tracks.
    Hope this helps!

  • Audio disabled in frame by frame editing - FCP 7

    Hello,
I have installed the update for Apple Pro aps and it seems to have turned something off. When editing in FCP 7 the audio for frame by frame viewing (via the arrow keys) has been disabled, in both senses (actual sound, and the sound level meter). Does anyone know how to fix this or what setting to change in user prefs? Makes editing a bit hit and miss at the moment!
    Many thanks

    Hi
Are you sure you don't have audio scrubbing toggled off?

  • AG2712 Win8.1 Upgrade: High Def Audio Disabled

I'm rebuilding my AIO (after brand new restore disks failed!) to Windows 8.1 and have one remaining problem: High Def Audio Controller (VEN_1002&DEVAAB0) is disabled.   Is this a driver issue?
    Thanks,
    Douglas

When in Device Manager, I right-click enable the disabled High Definition Audio Controller, I get an error on the ATI HDMI Audio device in Sound, video and game controllers.
I'm using driver 6.0.1.6650, which is probably the problem, as it is dated 6/4/2012. I've been unsuccessful attempting to update.

  • Audio disabled in Skype when using Digital Camcorder

    Hello guys,
I have a question regarding using DV Camcorder for Skype videochat. I have Mac Pro, OS X Leopard.
I am using digital Camcorder which is connected to Mac via FireWire connection. The problem is, that person I chat with is seeing my video fine, but cannot hear my audio. (I am using a standard external microphone connected to the camcorder via XLR, and camcorder shows that audio is received fine)
Is there any setting I have to change? Or anything else I have to adjust in order to fix this problem?
Thank you so much for any advise

There must be some users out there who for some odd reason don't won't the digital output to be mutable. Are they the majority of digital output users? Seems unlikely.
Can't we get our mute key back as an option for digital out in the Sound prefs panel?

  • Audio Disabled on Account

This is probably going to be a 3rd party issue, but I was hoping there'd be Mac OS Fix.
I use an M-Audio Firewire 410 audio I/O unit. I recently tried to hook up my machine without realizing it might now be incompatible. Before, this turned off internal Audio and used the interface for the system and software audio (although you could still split it). This time, the interface wouldn't initalize, just flash at me as if it were trying, and the control software didn't recognize it as being there. But the interal audio still cut out like it was supposed.
And still hasn't reenabled even after unpluggin and restart.
I am able to use the volume controls and internal audio I/O is still selected in the MacOS app, but my PowerBook's speakers and Audio Out connection do nothing.
I haven't tried uninstalling the controller software yet, since I just thought of that this morning and my machine is at home, but I fear this may a deeper system issue since the OS control doesn't even register it as being there.
This goes on with some other issues I've been fixing with trouble installing Leopard, but they are unrelated and I know the issue started when trying to connect to the interface.
Anyone have a clue what to do here?

The real issue was M-Audio's driver for their Firewire410 Audio I/O interface. After wiping the disk yet again, and being sure NOT to bring over any of their software, the problem was resolved.
However, I'm still without the use of the necessary inputs that the interface gave me, so I'm hoping they come out with a driver for Leopard soon.
Drat Vista for taking up so much of their time that they can't get this out sooner!

  • OSX Kernel issue: Audio disabled, Shutdown failure

I have just updated my PBG4 with the latest Quicktime and Airport update. Since then my audio output for external or built in devices no longer work. On top of that my laptop will not shutdown unless you hold the power button down-I get a nice prompt for that.
When I start back up I get the "Problem Report for Mac OS X Kernel". This is what it says:

  • W530/Realtek HD Audio - Disabled Microphone, Can't Get it Back

I accidentally disabled the built-in microphone in Control Panel/Sound/Recording/Microphone Properties. Now it's gone entirely, and I can't figure out how to get it back. I checked the BIOS/security/I/O Port Access/Microphone setting, but it's still enabled there. What should I do? Related question -- Is there a similar place to disable (and re-enable!) the built-in camera? -- JCW2

Those should stay. They will disappear in Device Manager if you disable in BIOS though.

  • How can I use OnBoard+Aditional audio cards at the same time? !!! BIOS PROBLEM !!!

I want use both audio cards. The On-board audio + SoundBlaster Audigy. Because I have mp3 player mp3tunes ( from http://www.mp3tunes.nl ) that is able play on both audiocards at the same time. It is good for DJ. One audiocard is for pre-listen.
But in BIOS is possible set only disable or auto-detect.   When I set autodetect, then OnBoard audiocard is automaticaly disabled if there is another audiocard.  Please tell me, what can I do for enable both audiocards ?

It's been awhile but as I promised here is my update:
I purchased an E-MU 1820m Pro Audio interface several months ago and ran it in my system for some time with the onboard audio disabled. Since this audio system is mainly for mid/high end audio production making use of low latency and up to 192mhz sample rates & 20/18 i/o then it is a bit of an overkill for using it for general multimedia & games so I thought I would place my c-media pci card back in and enable the onboard setting & see if the two systems would run ok together.
I first made sure that I uninstalled the e-mu card & then put the onboard card back in & installed the drivers. I then installed the E-MU, making sure that it wasn't sharing an IRQ with my 9600 pro like it originaly did on the first slot. So after installing that and the IRQ's were looking good I tested it all out and the results after two weeks have been perfect. I use the C-Media audio with the WDM drivers and use it for general audio & multimedia while I use the E-MU card with the E-MU ASIO 2 drivers and I use this with my audio production programs like Sonar, FL Studio & native Instruments Battery & Traktor.
Conclusion: Yes you can run a pro audio system as well as the onboard sound card with the MSI 865 Neo2 FIS2R.

  • 10.6.8 - No audio out (but internal speaker fine) - MBP5,5

After upgrading to 10.6.8, plugging in my earphones or headphones does squat. My internal speaker still works fine though
I've tried the AppleHDA rollback (to 10.6.7 version) to no avail  - each time either audio disables totally or I get the "Incorrectly installed extension" error
The most interesting thing is my problem seems subtlely different from the 'popular' audio problems. Most bizarrely, audio out works until I log in (works on the login screen). It dies and I receive asserts on the console after logging in though (I'm not on the machine and I can't remember the exact assert message but something about failure during GOTO in some audio handler)
I haven't tried making another user account (to see if it's account specific) but I have tried deleting all manner of user-specific audio plists as well as doing SMC reset, permissions repair etc.
Any ideas? + Anyone have the same problem? (I'm presuming this is specific to this MBP + config)

one thing i have just tested i can copy files from my mac desktop to my macbook fine mmm!

  • System Audio Capture - Won't Work

    Hello all,
I'm trying to capture my system audio and I cannot get Cp8 to do just that. I'm running the most recent version of Cp8 on my MBP OS X 10.9.5. I open a new video demo, with system audio selected, with or without a mic. The mic will capture just fine, no system audio.
I have a request to capture some Skype interview and Tuesday, any help will be great!
    Thank you in advance

    Hi there,
Have you tried configuring 'Soundflower' audio driver? . Please refer to the below link for more information.

  • X-Fi Audio Console Launcher not in system t

Since my new install of Windows, I can't get the Console Launcher for my X-Fi Elite Pro in the system tray anymore. On my previous install it was there from first install, even after updating the software and drivers, but now it seems to have dissapeared. I'm really disappointed as this (for me) by far the easiest way to change mode and/or entering the console for settings editing. I tried to update the drivers, but no luck... it's still not back. It seems like a fairly easy problem to fix, but I can't find any option to check/uncheck system tray icon availability. Can anyone help me out on this one? How can I get the system tray icon back in the system tray? Thanks in advance!?By the way, I'm running Windows XP Pro UK with the latest X-Fi Elite Pro?drivers and onboard HD Audio disabled in the BIOS. Software of HD Audio is also removed.

Mine hasn't been resetting....so far. I know mines a Fatalty but sw wise it should be same for all the cards. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with option for syncing with control panel. I have that option unchecked in the creative mixer speakers tab. Maybe try disabling it if its currently enabled and see if that stops the resetting. No idea if it will help but thats the only thing I can think of, can't hurt to at least give it a shot.
    Hope it helps

  • Newbie Q. Re: Exporting audio in L8P with TDM...

    Hey Folks,
1st time posting- sorry for making someone answer this again if it's been posted before... but I couldn't find the answer in a search, in the manual, or on any recent threads here.
    OK, here goes:
Doing pre-production work in Logic 8 prior to exporting into Pro Tools for tracking/mixing/etc...
I'm using the DAE & DTDM engines, and it's been working great, although, I have to admit, signal flow in L8 has taken me a little bit to catch on to.
Went to export the tracks (12 loop/VI tracks [DTDM] and 3 mono audio tracks [DAE] ) and it will only allow me to export the 12 DTDM tracks "created" in Logic??? Can't seem to get it to export the 3 real tracks (recorded with mic/pre/etc...) no matter what I do...
The 12 VI tracks outputs are assigned to 2 stereo pairs (ESB 1-2 & ESB 3-4), which then feed 2 stereo Auxes (input=ESB 1-2/3-4, output= Out 1-2) and the 3 "real" DAE tracks are assigned directly to Out 1-2.
I've tried re-assigning busses, directly exporting the regions as audio, disabling inputs....NADA !
I'm sure this is probably REALLY simple, but I'm stumped!
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Rick

Still looking for an answer on this one....
    Maybe the Q's worded poorly?
Basically I'm wanting to know how to export L8 DAE tracks for use in other apps. (Pro Tools in my case).
I've got a workaround (create DTDM audio tracks and physically move the audio files onto them, then export), but it doesn't allow for printing of the TDM plugs that were inserted on the tracks (which were a significant part of the sound of the track).
    Any help is much appreciated!
I'll try back at the DUC as well...
    Rick

  • Split Track Audio Output Problem

I'm trying to make a split track audio output as one requirement of the deliverables list on my current job. Dialog goes left, music right.
But even though I set up my sequence as two track mono, and have pre-panned the tracks all the way to the left (A1) and right (A2), I seem unable to make a quicktime that will play them as discrete tracks.
Inside Premiere, they play back properly -- A1 is coming out of the left speaker, A2 out of the right. No bleed or overlap.
I'm exporting them as quicktime, 2 mono tracks, ProRes 422. But when I play back the resulting quicktime -- voila, the tracks have been re-mixed together without my consent!
I've tried Media Encoder, with the same results.
FYI, In the "Channel Layout" section I've tried clicking both "mono" and "discrete" without any improvement. I feel like the problem might be that I'm choosing "Stereo" from the "Channels" popup, but there is no option for two channels that are not in stereo. It goes from mono to stereo to 3.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Especially if they arrive soon!  : )
(Using Premiere Pro 2014.1 on a MacPro Quad Core 2.93GHz machine with 16GB of RAM.)

i'm experiencing the same issue since today.
very loud (nearly ear damaging) glitches on crossfades on audio channel. doesn't matter if mp3, aif, or wav.
plus one channel of stereo sometimes randomly gets louder on transitions for a short time.
is still there in export. no matter if directly from premiere or via media encoder. (export as prores 422 with uncompressed audio). disabled native ppro import in AME, didn't help
cleared all media caches and preview files, didn't help.
not using preview files for export.
read alot about this bug being in older version here on the forums, but it is still there in CC 2014 v8.0.1
    i am on osx 10.8.5.
    please help Adobe.
