Audio discussion tool. which platform?

hello!
i would like you to help me choose the "correct" development platform for a project, which starts soon.
my "tool" should provide following functionality:
- upload mp3-files to a specific directory on a web-server, which can be streamed later via an audio-player (implemented in the application)
- the mp3-files can be commented/annotated, which means that during playback users are able to comment "wow thats a very good part of the song". these comments should be saved and displayed for other users. (i thought of saving the comments in XML-files and then parse the XML during playback and work with cue-points...)
- usability should be high: for example a seek-bar, which displays at which time comments have been made on the audio-file.
keep in mind, that my application should only be a prototype. so it won't be used in a production environment. therefore the functionality does not have to be perfectly implemented (e.g. it does not have to work with 1000ppl using it at the same time, ...). i would like to know on which development-platform these features can be implemented in a fancy/"easy" way. FLEX or FLASH?

- i will also need "file dialogs" so that the user can choose an xml-document to view stored comments. any shor hint on this one, too?
- will all of this be possible in AS2? i just found out that the "media playback" component is not available anymore in AS3 :/

Using The Same Audio Files On Multiple Platforms

When I import new audio into logic - often it will say that is creating wave forms for the display.
Q: I notice that the audio files on disk do not show an altered modified date - so where are these wave form displays being saved - on the audio file or inside the logic song?
Q: I am interested in possibly going back and forth between logic and Pro tools LE - and at different times using the same audio files for both platforms. Assuming I am not doing any destructive editing - is it OK to use the same set of files for both platforms - or do I need to make duplicates (I'd rather not)? Also, how does this wave form display get dealt with by going back and forth between the two platforms?

memory is fuzzy on that for now. The original audio

Hmmm... I've wondererd about this, too, and as best I can tell, Logic DOES modify the original files.
I just imported some stereo interleaved AIF files into a project (with "copy external audio files to project folder" disabled), and I couldn't see any evidence of waveform creation--a disk search by date revealed nothing looking like waveform overviews, and there were no modifications to the AIF file dates.
So... the next time I imported some AIF files, I checked the file sizes before the import...
Sure enough, the files got bigger by about 100K after being imported into a Logic session, even though the file's timestamps were not changed.
Looks like maybe Logic does write the waveforms into the files themselves ?
On a related note, the manual suggests that it's possible to change the "copy external audio files to project folder" setting after creating a project, but I haven't found this anywhere other than File->New... anyone know ?

I need a tool which can check the version of latest firmware available for UCS servers. The point is avoid running old firmwares.
If the tool can download the firmware that's like cherry on the cake.

If the range is a single column, (eg. column E):
=COUNTIF(E,"done")
The formula is in cell A1 of the table, but may be placed anywhere (except in column E, unless it is in a Header row or Footer row).

Are you after free stuff or are you prepared to licence pay a licence fee?
Inthe paid for category the obvious place to start is teh Performance Tuning package for Oracle Enterprise Manager. Quest and BMC also offer dashboard type interfaces.
In the free stakes, there's quite a neat tool called Orasnap.

Adobe Extension signing - which platform should I choose?

1. I created Adobe Extension using Extension Builder 3 (HTML5 Extension) for Photoshop CC.
2. I want to buy Code Signing Certificate for it.

No, Photoshop is, assuming you are speaking of CS4 and are concerned about hardware accelerated features like the soft zoom or 3D features in PS Extended. Those only work with NVidia or ATI cards. If you can live without those features, it doesn't matter which system you get. The only critical factor then becomes RAM - the more, the better. One word of warning on the way: Make sure, your laptop supports the minimum system requirements in terms of screen resolution. If not, you may not even be able to install the software let alone use it.

Panasonic DVX-100 audio sync tool not showing up in the tools menu

Using FCP 7 in new Mac Pro with a clean install. I following the directions for copying the DVX-100 audio sync file into the proper folder /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins/
The directions say the Offset Audio Sync command should now appear in the Tools menu. It does not.
I have tried trashing preferences - reinstall the Audio Sync Tool - but it still does not show up.
I use the Panasonic Camera and with my earlier editions of FCP I had no problem installing and using
the Audio Sync file.
Anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

Difference?: Offset Audio Sync Tool and Audio Frame Offset Value

Here's my Set-Up:
Editing a project shot film, audio recorded to CD. Xfer'd to DVCProHD with audio synced up. Downconverted capture to DV for editing in powerbook.
Computer: 1.67 ghz PowerBook G4 with 1.5 GB RAM
Final Cut Pro Version: 5.0.4
QuickTime: 7.0.4
OSX: 10.4.4
Editing timebase: 29.97 non-drop
My problem:
I have clips that when played in the viewer are fine and in sync. When cut into the timeline some drift out of sync. If I apply the offset Audio Sync Tool at it's default 2 frames to the master clip and cut it back in it goes back to sync - for a while. Matchframe back to master clip and it's OK. Why is the timeline not holding the setting? Corrupt timeline?
When and how is the Audio Frame Offset (default is 4) found in Systme Settings/Playback Control used? Is there a relationship between it and the Offset Audio Sync Tool?
FWIW: tapes were batched captured - I have master clips that are all about 22 minutes long. I subclipped each take and scene for editing. When I use the offset audio sync tool I apply it to the long Master clips. The problematic Subclips don't seem to be affected if I try to apply just to them.

Being exported from tower mac, not laptop... we have tried exporting directly from final cut and from quicktime pro... sync is off when played on PCs but seems fine on the mac...we have tried adjusting the frame offset as well... do think it could have anything to do with clicking the box "prepare for internet streaming"

HI, and thanks in advance for any help. I publish a digital magazine on Joomag, but want to move away from that platform and use adobe.
I simply don't know which platform within the suite is best suited for a novice user. I'm not a luddite, but not a wizard either.

Offset Audio Sync Tool...

Can something like Color Correction throw the sync out? Even though I was editing in 23.98 with footage from the original DVX100, everything has been in sync all through my editing. After I started doing some heavy color correction, I noticed its off by about 2 frames which is not a surprised since I am editing in a 23.98 timeline with the pulldown removed. So now do I have to go back and select each and every audio clip, bring it up in the viewer then apply the 2 frame off sync tool to each clip? If I left my timeline like it is and went ahead and exported to DVD would it still be out of sync in terms of having the pulldown added back when played on a dvd player? Its 2 frames and not 4 frames that I need to select right?

Import Script button was available in Presenter 8. There is no way to change the audio button to import script button.
