Audio distortion on any video application - coreaudio issue?

When watching any video - flash in web browsers, iTunes, VLC, etc the audio will start to skip and stutter and will then go into full distortion. I have to kill coreaudio and allow it to restart itself to fix the issue. This has been going on for quite a while, came back after two full OS re-installs and happens almost every time and when it does it happens several times.
I've read other people having a similar issue with no resolution, just curious if there might be a solution I've missed.

Hi, I am having the same issue I believe. Lately I even got a few times the black popup screen forcing me to restart the machine. This happens always when the stuttering gets really bad, eventually the whole OS seems to stutter, apps become irresponsive during the stuttering and at the end the whole OS hangs and I can't do anything.
The problem starts each time while playing a video, in Safari or Firefox, or VLC.
I have tried several things, including clean installing of Snow Leopard (the problem happened in my previous Tiger too, although it seems to be worse now), reinstalling the Flash Plugins several times, trying various other tips and tricks I found while googling (removing the Macromedia Folder in Library > Preferences, ....).
Also wondering if somebody got an answer...
I am thinking probably my graphics card has a hardware defect but when I go to Apple > About My Mac > More Info > Hardware > Diagnostics I see that the hardware tests pass.
Does anybody know if there a more thorough hardware diagnostics tool for Macs out there?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now back to the menu bar, click Safari > Empty Cache
Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try one of the sites you had trouble accessing...

HP Stream 13 has weird audio distortion on youtube videos.

I just got a hp stream 13 and for some reason when I play a youtube video the audio will have strange audio distortions that will happen for a moment on the video. The video itself is smooth but the audio will hiccup. I have the most up to date audio driver. This happens in internet explorer and chrome. I even restored the laptop to original settings and its still happening. I played pandora and that was fine. I would appreciate any help on this one.

I had a similar issue on a HP 15 Notebook PC andh recent s/w updates and a manual cache clean for flash the issue has resolved.
While investigating I noted if I download a youtube clip this played normally, no issues with sound playback namely a "garbled/cracking/compressed distortion sound". This suggested the issue is not in fact with the hardware.
I noted forums on dells web site for similar issues and some high end laptops for other manufacturer's. I noted also firefox was not so impacted as IE using HTML verses Flash player and not all you tube clips displayed the issue. I saw the issue on some BBC news items but not on others from the BBC. I found streaming radio and music no issues issue only occured with Video content when streamed.
I am aware your model is different but the issue appears to be not model or manufacture dependant.
My O/S Windows 8.1 64-bit

1. Adobe upgraded to lastest version (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/)
2. clear adobe flash player cache run the program "Flash Player" and from the popup "flash player setting manger" select advanced delete "browsing data and settings" i cleaered everything.
Using the HP support assistant search for updates and install "Audio and sound" TAB I have the following drivers installed
For the record my pc
Device: Intel Display Audio Version: 6.16.0.3154
Device: Reltek High Definition Audio Drivers : RTKVHD64.sys 6.0.1.7156
Since new I have recieved also updated to the bios

Any video application I use with my iSight is out of sync with the audio.

It doesn't matter which application; Skype, Facetime, Google Talk, or trying to record a live video is all out of sync. The video appears to be lagging behind as I can still see my mouth moving after I'm talking. What's the problem? Sometimes I think I'm stuck in some type of bad kung fu movie timewarp... Someone help me get back to normal!

Deep distorted audio during mac / pc video chat

Hi - has anyone encountered this problem when using ichat to speak with a PC running aim 6.5? The PC can hear and see me fine, and I can see the PC fine, it's just that their voice sounds too low and distorted on my end. I tried changing my audio outputs, and sample rates, but no good.

I am afraid this problem has been around for some connection since iChat 2.
There are some things you can try but I promise nothing as nobody has reported any disappearance of this issue once it appears.
1) make sure it is the latest issue of the AIM App
2) Make sure the Tuning and XP Service pack 2 Firewall has AIM enabled through it http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page12.html Although it sounds like this is done.
PC End Tweaks
Start a Video chat.
You have the Connection Doctor open to show Frame and Bitrates.
They click on the back tab (Preview) to bring it to the front.
To the right there should now be a small squarish icon.
They click on that.
This brings up a slider.
They slide this to the left.
This reduces the Video quality and consequently increases the frame rate and bit rate.
You tell them to stop when the best Framerate V pic quality can be achieved.
The purpose of this is to have more frames per sec to avoid something that used to appear in the Console logs during chats, which was dropped frames. My theory (unproven) is that the freeze happens when the dropped frames exceed the number of frames in one sec. iChat 3 is supposed to have a buffer to get around this problem but I have only seen this come into action in iChat to iChat Video chats.

What can be causing inconsistent DVD video and audio distortions...

Does anyone have any idea why the DVD I burn using DVD Studio Pro (from a 90-min FCP QT movie) - whether it’s compressed by DVD Studio Pro, or through Compressor (with bit-rates of 4 for avg., and 7.2 for maximum) - plays with some serious simultaneous video and audio distortions on my brand new DVD player – that don’t show up at all when played on a friend's DVD player.
As a test, I burned a DVD with just the video, and it does NOT play the same distortions on my DVD player. This obviously means the video distortion is related to the audio being there, but, I don’t know why, or how to begin fixing the problem.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

Go into the AC3 encode tabs and have a look around. If you never used A.Pack with older versions of DVDSP then none of this will look familiar, but essentially the tabs are exactly the same as the old A.Pack application.
You can set the desired bitrate - for stereo you don't need more than 192Kbps. You can set the dialog normailsation value (for now, type in -31 and press return) and you can set the compression type - just use 'none'.
This should get you a reasonably useable AC3 file for your project, but as you might guess, there is a lot more to it than that! Head over to http:..www,macprovideo.com and see if you can get hold of the tutorials for A.Pack, or find a copy of Martin Sitter's book for DVD Studio Pro (any version). The chapter on A.Pack is well worth reading and possibly justifies the price of the book on its own.
Once you have got the audio encoding sorted out and are using it on a disc, see if the distortion still happens.

I am new to FLASH and FLEX.
I want to know if i can make a Live Audio/Video application(
using Microphone and Camera) for a website by using FMS. If yes
then should i use FMSS or FMIS. I will be using FLEX Buidler IDE .
Any one who has made this type of application or link to a
tutorial.
What i would like to make is like an application of Webcam
with 2 users can see/view each other and also talk on web site. And
alos how can i embed this application in java(EE) project.

Yes you can make a Live A/V app with FMS! that is exactly
what it was designed for. You would need FMIS as that is the
interactive version that enables live capabilities.

Do we need any administrives rights for our working PC.
What is the procedure/ setup I need to follow from a java application to enable particular audio/video device since I dont about end-user system setup right.
If possible send some sample code to recognize /r detect audio device ( voice input ). It should run on both MAC and UBUNTU.
2) I run the one sample audio recording application of this link (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/SimpleAudioRecorder.java.html) which is provided by YOU.
I got output audio file and able to hear voice on UBUNTU system but not able to hear voice on MAC system.

Adobe FLME Error Message "Please check if video devices are connected properly and are not used by any other application."

Hello, I'm trying to use my MAC Book Pro with Adobe FMLE. Once I select either my internal or external camera and microphone, in the live encoder I get this error message. "Please check if video devices are connected properly and are not used by any other application." The Facetime HD camera works in Photo Booth. We found the solution for this issue .
We have installed the crypto library in global executable directory and any way it will replicate those binaries to individual application servers.
But the parameters are still looking for global executable directory for loading crypto library during time.
So all application servers are trying to load crypto library files from global "exe" instead of local directory, which was clustered .Sometimes during heavy network load it may cause some delays to load the libraries to individual application servers and in turn is causing the license key issues.
Note 982056 - The license key library has not been initialized yet..
SAP Recommend option for all SSF parameters should be instance profile parameters not in default parameters..This was mentioned in below note:
Note 662340 - SSF Encryption Using the SAPCryptolib --- .
But in our Environment SSF and SEC parameter were set in DEFAULT profile instead Instance profile.
Recommendations:
o ssf/ssfapi_lib = <Path and file name of SAPCRYPTOLIB>
o sec/libsapsecu = <Path and file name of SAPCRYPTOLIB>
This was mentioned in the below SAP HELP.

Powerbook g4 cannot stream any video without serious lag issues

hi guys
have a solid older g4 powerbook 1.33 ghz 1.25 ram powerbook i gave to my gf as a present. This thing just will not stream any videos with out serious lag. Even if videos buffer all the way it jumps all over the place.
Sites like Justin.tv we cannot stream one channel good, audio is fine but picture is unwatchable due to lag. I can watrch the same channel on my 2007 macbook pro and its totally fine. Any tips on how to get this powerbook running right?? Even youtube you can't watch because of laaaaaag. This shouldn't be an issue.

Unfortunately, our PBs are showing their technology age with streaming video's that have become more prevalent. You can take a few steps to try and maximize the performance, however, at the proverbial end of the day, if viewing streaming video's is important, it's time to upgrade.
First, ensure you have 10% to 15%+ free disk space on your internal hard drive. Less than that can really crimp performance.
Download OnyX and run the tasks on the cleaning and maintenance tabs. Before using any disk maintenance program, good data protection practice says you should have your hard drive backed up. Periodically run the Apple hardware test or either of the TechTool programs to ensure there's not any sick hardware getting in the way.
Bring up the activity monitor and on the system memory tab look at page ins and outs. If page outs are 10% or more of page ins, you can use more memory for what you run.

T400 2765 T6u, vista 32b distorting audio output on my videos

My T400 has poor visual quality in pictures and videos one week ago. After I updated the graphic driver, the images of the pics and videos are ok now, but the laptop is giving out distorting audio output on my videos. Can someone help me out with this issue?

I updated my audio driver and bought another headphone and solved the problem. I don't don't know why my previous headphone doesn't work for t400--it works perfect for my desktop.

Video's are missing and can not post any video's and can no longer see on Facebook after upgrading mac software. Facebook says content is unavailable. Is this a facebook issue or is there something that I can do to fix on my mac.

Video's are missing from facebook album under photo's. It shows that I have 99 and only shows 24. These are not copyright problems. I have had them up for years. Now, I can not post any video's too. Message says that content is currently unavailable. It seemed to happen after I upgraded to 10.7.5 but it could be coincidental. Of course, I have not got any email from facebook to help with this problem and I am really frustrated that I can not find my video's and post any new ones anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

Is there any way to cut audio while keeping the video it is tied to?

ok, I have a video from a dvd i burned on FCE but the sound is messed up. I am going to be making a AMV with it anyway so I don't really need the audio. Is there any way of cutting the audio without disturbing the video it was imported with. I must stress that they were not imported separately.

Place the footage in the timeline. Click the lock key on the vidoe time line. This will place a screen looking thing over the video. Select the audio in the time line and press delete. That will delete the audio but keep the video. Then unclick the lock key and all should be well. Always remeber the "undo" option if you mess up. I use it all the time.
