Audio doesn't match video playback
I downloaded from iTunes store a TV season and playback of episodes has about a 30 sec lag in the audio. Need recommendations to fix this annoyance. Thanks

Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through
Hi guys,
I am currently editing videos from my Canon SLR with Adobe Premiere Elements (Windows).
In the same project, I have only uploaded videos taken the same day with the same equipment. I have been able to process them all normally apart from one. For some reason, when I play this file with a basic video player, everything works fine but when I import it in the Adobe software and play it either through the small window or in the timeline, I have the same problem:
Everything works fine (audio and video in sync), until it reaches a specific point (totally random as far as I can tell) when the video keeps going but suddenly the sound repeats itself from the beginning of the file (and the audio which would correspond to the video is replaced by it). For you to understand better the problem:
Video: ABCDEF
Audio: ABCABC
I have tried opening it in a different project and somehow it happens exactly at the same point.
I am totally clueless of what it comes from and getting really frustrated!
Any idea?
Cheers
BabsHello, I'm new to using forums like this. Is it appropriate for me to post that I'm having the same issue? Also sounds similar to Audio doesn't match video because repeated half way through as well.
My situation is:
Win7 64-bit, i7 920, 2.67GHz, 8GB RAM
Multiple Nikon D7000 video clips I've taken play back fine except for the following clip. In Windows Media Viewer, I have no problem, but in PE10, in the timeline editor, this clip repeats the audio from the beginning starting about 6 minutes into the video. I have Quicktime version 7.7.5 installed which I noticed was mentioned as a possible culprit in the other thread.
I've been using my camera primarily for stills, but decided to have my mom tell her story before she wasn't able to. I'm so frustrated with this problem because I know the audio is just fine since I can play it back synchronized throughout the entire clip in WMV. I've tried cleaning out PE caches as best I can figure them out and created new projects without any better luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm open to getting a new version of PE or another program if I could believe that I wouldn't run into this issue again. This seems like such a vanilla problem since all my other clips seem to be fine and this one does too on WMV.
Thanks for any help you can provide. I don't really know where else to go to figure this out.
Joel

Seriously...Now I have to figure out why audio doesn't match video
Good grief, come on!!
I shot the video with a brand new HD canon. I imported the video and it plays fine in the program manager (audio in synch). However, after exporting (h.264) audio is out of wack by a few frames.
I refuse to shell out $40 for support when I shelled out $1500 for this suite. Yes, I tried to read all of the threads but quickly get buried. I just want to export.
Right clicking on the audio time line says (Source Audio 48000 - compressed stereo) and (Project Audio 48000 32 bit floating point stereo).

Audio doesn't match the video ... why
Last night I tried to sort some of the clutter from my desk by downloading some recorded video on VHS tapes. The images worked fine with no dropped frames at all, however, the audio doesn't match the video.
Example 1: the footage is of skydiving recorded from Channel 4 (UK) while the audio that is captured with is commentry from several years ago when we lived back in Australia (Channel 7).
Example 2: the audio is very very slow.
The footage was recorded on a VCR which has no audio/video out facility and is converted via the ADVC 110 from a VCR which does have the audio/video out plugs. The DV is then saved to an external drive 500GB.
Can anyone suggest a way around this unique effect .... please.
Blue skies
DeanG'day Martin,
Here are the answers to the questions you asked.
As far as I can tell everything is PAL. The VCR used to record the footage and the VCR used to download to the converter. The later has NTSC capability but not turned on (I checked).
The Canopus is set to PAL and the FCE easy set up is set to DV PAL converter.
The Video and Audio are recorded at the same time.
I should add that I tried it again this morning and it worked for a short while but then reverted to previous reported faults. I have tried about 8 different VHS tapes and they all do either of the two described faults.
Thanks for your suggestions. -
Itunes 9 – Backup doesn't function, Video playback is now slow, Requires a
TOPIC: iTunes 9 – Backup doesn't function, Video playback is now slow, Requires a reboot to find the super drive when changing CDs or DVDs.
iTunes 9 has been difficult to say the least. We have a very large Video and TV library, backups are critical. When starting a backup to disc, we put in the blank DVD and the software reports that it will take XX (39 in this case) discs. After the first DVD ejects and the second blank is inserted, iTunes hangs.
Second: Watching programs on hulu.com the video drops frames and a very jerky playback experience sometimes including audio. iTunes 9 now works the same way, gone are the smooth video and audio. An authorized computer in our house can no longer play back any movies or TV that are located on the MacMini.
Third and most disturbing: Since the iTunes 9 upgrade, when listening to a CD on the Apple and it completes, if you want to listen to another one – it requires a Restart of the computer. It no longer knows that there is a super drive attached to the computer. After the restart, it works just fine for one use, CD or DVD and then you must restart to listen or watch another one. Using the super drive for data or programs works correctly and no problems experienced.
I want to be clear - none of these problems were happening before the forced upgrade to iTunes 9. After reading several posts, I don't want to sync my iPod Classic (80GB) for fear of what it will do to it.
The above is happening on a MacMini, G4 PPC, 1GB RAM, 80GB internal, 2 Terabyte external, OS-X 10.4 fully patched for operating system and applications.
We need to know when the 9.1 bug fix will be released? As long as it took to convert our library to 9.0, we don't want to try and back convert to version 8.x. In our case that would take feeding 221 backup DVDs and repurchase of several 9.0 only, episodes.
WE need the bug fix and fast!I am running iTunes9 on WinXP, and I also cannot get it to back up. It either hangs on the "initializing" phase, or it thinks that my blank disks aren't blank and keeps spitting them out.
Also, I've brought this up before, by why MUST we back up to DVD? Why can't we backup to a folder location (such as network share or external HD)? DVD backup is slow, problematic, and wasteful. Especially if it fails, and you need to throw out the disks it's already burned, and will not resume where it left off before the failure.
For a company that's usually known for its design and "it just works" philosophy, how can you keep making such a broken, buggy product? Here's a thought, before cramming more crap into iTunes, let's just get it working as advertised for once? That would be nice. -

After effects CC export to premiere pro CC: audio doesn't match
Hello!
I am making an animation serie for Belgian TV. They need me to export only my audio from premiere (I make the animations in after effects).
They need OMF format.
When I export from after effects CC > Premiere pro project (only to export my audio to OMF from here) the audio doesn't match.
Adobe media encoder doesn' support OMF unfortunately.
Example; if I stretch the audio time in after effects, premiere doesn't.
I am really stressing out and any help would be very welcome
Thank you!
EllenHello Jim
Thanks for the reply!
When I import my after effects composition into premiere, it is perfectly visible and the audio is correct.
But now it is suddenly impossible to select > export > OMF
Do you know why this is?
Thanks! -
Mavericks 10.9.3
Latest Mac Mini, 8GB RAM, two 256GB SSD
Compressor 4.1.1
I have an MPEG-2 file with AC3 5.1 audio which plays in QuickTime X as expected.
I have a second MacBook Pro with Compressor 4.1.1, where the audio is fine - both as current video playback of the source, and post-encode using Apple Devices HD (best quality) setting.
However in the Mac Mini Compressor there is no audio (neither in current video playback of the source, nor after encode using Apple Devices HD (best quality) setting).
Troubleshooting
- main difference between machines is the Mac Mini has Elgato software (EyeTV and Game Capture HD)
- I've checked the QuickTime components are same on both machines, except for EyeTV audio component on Mac Mini
- there are no plug-in audio components
- I've repaired permissions using Disk Utility
- I moved Compressor to trash, deleted compressor plist files, and reinstalledMediaInfo trace:

Problem with mac os x lion audio mute and web video playback
I have a 15" MacBook Pro I7
Strangest thing started happening ever since I installed Adobe Masters Collection Trial Version CS6.
Randomly, and I can pinpoint exactly when, all of a sudden I will loose my sound. The muting goes off and I can't get it back on again no matter what I try. Then I loose web-video playback. Nothing will playback beyond 11 seconds. I followed all the support community advice on how to handle this situation with no luck. Resetting the SCM does nothing. The ONLY way I can fix it is with a re-install of Mac OS X Lion! I've reinstalled twice (fixed the problem both times) but the problem just keeps coming back.
I'm guessing it's a software issue of somesort but I'm not exactly sure what the problem is or how to fix it. Any advice?Slight Update. I found a guy with my EXACT problem here. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4103108?start=0&tstart=0 Go to this discussion for further details.

Audio static problems with video playback - Anyone Else?
I went to archive.org and downloaded two movies for my iPod. Great. However, when played on the iPod there is this scratch/pop in the headphones every couple of seconds.
It doesn't matter what headphones you use.
It doesn't happen when you play the same video on the computer either in iTunes or Quicktime Player. And this is definitely more than the normal hiss and pop of old movies. Its piercing when you have in ear headphones on and quite distracting with apple buds.
What I am wondering if this is a problem with all iPods or just mine?
I don't have the problem with music videos or home made movies. Just the two movies I downloaded from archive.org. However, they do play fine on my computer. This is my last day to return the iPod and get a new one instead of service unit (which his actually probably new also because the Apple Service dept probably hasn't had refurbs yet, but I digress).I'm having the same problem with a file from archive.org. The file plays back fine using QT on my PC, but on the ipod the audio has periodic bursts of static.
Here's a link to a file that exhibits the problem:
http://www.archive.org/download/disorderin_the_court/disorder_in_the_court256kb.mp4
Movie info is: MPEG-4, 320x240, Millions
AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz

video audio doesn't work
video runs but no sound
please helpITunes uses Quick Time to convert. Quick Time cannot convert MPEg (Muxed) Files. Read this:
Quick Time: Using MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 Files:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61608
Again:
It is not possible to export the audio portion of a muxed MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 audio/video stream using QuickTime. -
I imported a video and when I play it back, the audio does not match the video. When I view the tape in my camera it looks fine. I've tried imported twice and each time it doesn't match. What can I do to fix this?
The default settings mostly likely use an audio sample rate of 32k. This doesn't work probably in FCP. You're probably better off capturing the tape in iMovie.

Several attempts to upgrade to iTunes 11 have failed. After an upgrade to 11 the error message reads: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly." At this point--after the upgrade to iTunes 11--my PC running Windows XP loses audio playback for all functions--in iTunes, in the browser and the volume icon disappears from the System Tray. Only by removing iTunes 11, and then using System Restore to turn back the OS settings can I return the PC to normal functioning.
I did that. I reinstalled iTunes 10.5. Everything seemed fine, but when I try to plug in and copy a CD to my iPhone 4S an error message reads roughly: 'iPhone 4S requires iTunes 10.5 or higher to work.'
What might be the problem with my audio configuration?
Why doesn't my iPhone 4S work with iTunes 10.5? It used to work with iTunes 10.5.
Please advise.

Video and audio don't match for purchased movies in iTunes
I recently purchased several movies from the iTunes store, but when I play them in iTunes the video doesn't match the audio. If I pause the movie, it will sync for a short while, then will not match again. I've tried disabling the Direct 3D video acceleration in QuickTime, but that didn't fix the problem. I've seen this posted a number of times in this forum, but didn't see any solutions. Any suggestions?
(I've updated my laptop's BIOS, video drivers and audio drivers. I've downloaded the newest versions of iTunes and QuickTime.)OK, as of CS4.1, PrPro has the capability to Import 100% DVD-compliant .VOB's. You state that your .VOB was created by by PrPro. In CS4, this is not possible. As of CS3, the DVD's MUST be created by Encore. Is this what you mean? If so, they will be 100% DVD-compliant, so the .VOB's will Import fine, and edit as well as an MPEG-2 can.
Take a look at this ARTICLE for background on .VOB's.
Now, with a 100% DVD-compliant set of VOB's, you should not have an OOS issue. Take a look at this ARTICLE for ways to correct OOS issues.
Good luck,
