Audio driver issue

I have a Thinkpad T530 with Realtek HighDefinition Audio.  Recently I installed a Windows update and foolishly chose to install an optional update for the RealTek device.  Ever since, when I log in, I get this error:
The current Dolby Audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the software application expects driver version 7.2.7000.7.  Please install a valid driver and software application combination.
The audio works but sounds really tinny, which is an issue because I use the Thinkpad for music development.  I checked the installed version, and the installed version IS 7.2.7000.7.  I looked at the Windows Update history to try to back this off but couldn't find the RealTek update.  How do I straighten this out??
I originally posted this in the wrong forum, sorry.

This does not have to do anything with your soundcard or its driver. I've got this error message on professional audio systems, too. I tried M-Audio 2496 and a MOTU firewire device. All audio systems work good, but from time to time I get this asio-driver-error-message from premiere. I have to go into settings an choose asio driver again, then it works for a while until next message.
I saw the same problems on some cs3 installations so I think it must be a problem of software design.
Try to rise your asio buffers this might help a bit. What definitely helps is to choose the Adobe ASIO driver (Premiere Pro WDM Sound), doubleclick it and select your preferred sound-hardware. This could produce a little bit higher latencies but it's working.

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Issue Resolved!  MSI P4M900M2-L Intel Dual Core VIA P4M900 Chipset 8 CH Azalia Audio.
There is an issue w/ the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for the MSI P4M900M2-L Intel Based Dual Core Via P4M900 Chipset based Motherboard w/ MS XP Home Premium Installed (Vista driver installs fine as I have built 4 of these in the last week, but the XP Audio driver doesn't).
I could not get either Audio driver from the CD driver disk nor the MSI site to install w/ Win XP Home installed. Live Update for that Motherboard does not contain the Audio Driver either.
After 3 days and multiple attempts to use MSI's very wanting (in my opinion), Technical Support forms and call-in line, I hunted, and hunted and found the driver(s) on CNET. They not only work great but as designed. I had almost given up and I actually installed an add-in sound card....But this is a machine for a customer. Then I searched again and found a real solution.
Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers are located on CNET.com's download page:

Good luck to everyone, this will save you RMA'ing those boards over a stupid Audio driver issue, as they are great w/ the Intel Dual Core 775 CPU's from 2.0~3.0Ghz. Can't really tell the difference between the 2 CPU's w/ the Dual Core Program running (a utility supplied on the driver disk or on the Driver site!) I have built both..2 of each.

  • Audio driver issue with my HP Compaq DC7800 Convertible Minitower

    Hello,
I am having an Audio driver issue with my HP Compaq DC7800 Convertible Minitower desktop PC.
A few days ago I have formatted my desktop PC and installed a new Windows XP Service pack 3. As I needed driver for my device I have managed to find all drivers except the one for my audio device. As I saw I have integrated audio on my motherboard, but drivers that I have found on a support site of HP (drivers download) none of them work and there are too many (I have also needed to download drivers for other devices form intel site but this is another issue). So, now I was hoping that someone can help me to find (finally) and install audio device so I can finish with installation process. I would be veeeeeerrrry thankful for that Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.

  • Audio driver issues... please help!

    Alright,
I just purchased a new Asus computer, it's really nice... however I have Realtek HD, which doesn't seem to have a stereo option, it only comes out of the right speaker. When I try to record, it's the same issue.
Do I need to purchase a new audio driver?
Unless anyone knows how I can change the buffer size with the default "Audition 3.0 Windows Sound" to a lower number, since I'm trying to record in multitrack mode with the metronome.
I have ASIO4ALL v2 as well, but it's the same issue because of no stereo mic option...
Someone please help... several week headache.

    Hmm,
Even when I have the mono mix it's recording exactly in the center... how can I get it to pan the channel or have it record in both?
Also, is there any way I can lower the buffer rate for the default "Audition 3 Windows Sound" so I can use a metronome without it delaying it?
    Thanks.

  • N9 audio driver issue with music player with PR1.2

Seems that N9 PR1.2 would not completely initialize audio hardware for playing mp3s.
I've downloaded some Science Friday podcasts, and try to play them back with default music player.  Occasionally, if I try to seek in the stream, or for some other reason the audio gets stops playing, or jumps back to beginning of track.  Kind of like a needle would jump on a vinyl disk.
When that happens, it does not fix itself by exiting the music player.  It obviously tries to do something, as if I leave it playing sometimes after tens of seconds of silence it will try to play for a few seconds or so, usually looping the same segment.
To be sure that the file was not corrupted I ran md5 on it comparing it to original on my hard drive, and it is ok.   This behaviour also repeats itself with different files.  Once it starts misbehaving, I can't play any files, even those I've already listened.
Rebooting the phone does not help either, which is why I suspect a driver issue, not properly initializing some hardware registers.  If I let the battery run empty it seems to correct itself after recharge and reboot.
Has anyone else run into this?  Any workarounds or fixes?

I have the same problem and i "fixed" it with using a new music player, "FlowPlayer" and then it works...
It have to be a problem with the nokia music player! I realy hope the problem will be fixed in the firmware version pr1.3!

  • Logic Audio Driver issue with MAC PRO

Anyone know why the Built In Audio Driver won't output audio through the 1/8th inch jack.... Only plays through built in. You get 2 driver options: Built in and Built in digital....

Logic Pro 7.2.2 should fix this, it should be released very soon.

  • Acer Aspire V5-531 Dolby Advanced Audio driver issues after updating to Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 I was getting an error on loading Windows media player which indicated that: The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the softwareapplication expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and application combination  Although Windows 10 has probably updated your driver to the latest version of the driver (you can check this in device manager for yourself) but the Dolby Advanced Audio V2 application which was supplied by Acer (not Dolby) has not been updated to the corresponding latest version. So, you need an updated version of Dolby Advanced Audio V2 (Version 7.2.8000.17) Acer have not published an updated version. Looked all over the site coudn't find it.  My solution was to remove the error was to uninstall the Acer version and replace with the correct version downloaded from the Lenovo site below. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028945  I'd wanted to make sure it was the same software, so I tried without uninstalling first and it refused as a version was already installed. So that was reassuring. Thanks for the archived post below pointing me to the softwre on the Lenoveo site at the Lenovo site. I'd looked all over the Acer site for it. http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/how-i-solved-the-dolby-realtek-audio-problem/td-p/103157  There are warnings on the page above not to use the Lenovo version of the software because of 'tuning', but my audio sounds just as good as before and the error is now gone. Without it the Dolby would have been uninstalled so it seemed a reasonable punt to me. Disappointed in Acer, will buy a Lenovo next time...

Hi, The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for The V5-552G on windows 8 (not 8.1) This will work on your computer even if different model... the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 has not work either. So the one I´m using is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To Download the Driver and Software needed Go to: http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers and Go: Ultra-Thin / Aspire / V5-552G To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck

  • DV7-4060si beats and audio driver issue

Whenever I try and change the EQ in the Beats application, or the bass/treble in the tone controls, nothings. I click save, then when i go back to it, its reverted to default.
Also, when I try update my audio driver, I reboot and suddenly theres no sound. This is fixed by reinstalling the original drivers.

Try and install driver from here and check ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50642.exe.

  • OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite Video & Audio Driver Issues

I have a Mac Mini (Mid 2010), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Dual, 4 GB memory, Nvidia GeForce 320m 256 MB video card connected to a Panasonic 50" Plasma TV via standard HDMI connection. Until I installed OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite the system was working fine. I now have two major issues:
    1. Yosemite can not find the Audio drivers for any of the audio output devices for my Mac Mini (internal speaker, head phone, HDMI, or Optical). If I go to System Preferences > Sound, it tells me "no output devices found".  I can go to the Apple>About This Mac and generate a System Report of the Hardware and under Audio find all the audio output devices. If I then restart Yosemite, it will now find all the audio output devices. If I shut the system down cold, it will lose that information and I have to go through the same process again to get Yosemite to find the audio devices.
    2. The graphics drivers provided are not optomized for the Nvidia GeForce 320m  256 MB video card. This is a common problem with new Operating Systems from both Apple and Microsoft. Unfortunately, there is no path on the Mac to download the Nvidia Drivers as there is for a PC. The problem manifests itself only Mac Mini in how it builds the graphic display in memory. I can actually watch the driver fill the graphic memory with the pixel representations. This is usually a memory utilization problem and how the driver is using a memory buffer in the 4 GB of main memory versus the 256 MB of memory on the graphics board. There are other manifestations of this type of problem, i.e. pixelation of overlapping windows, edge effects on windows, slow video updating since it has to go through the main memory rather than directly to the memory on the graphics card, etc.
Since Apple has built some very fine computers that last a long time, my laptop and iMac are even older than my Mac Mini, my question is:
When is Apple going to provide the correct optimized hardware drivers for all the systems that Apple says can run OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite????

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Audio driver issue??? Help please

I've been experiencing this problem eversince I got this laptop last august.. its a satellite m305d-s4830 4g ram 250g hd amd turion ultra x2 zm-80 2.0ghz proc.  My audio playback seem to stutter a lot playing in media player. even videos keep on stuttering from time to time. I have downloaded all the drivers from this page even bios update even the southbridge driver from ati including the latest support for an integrated amd 3100 motherboard.  without luck it didn't changed anything so i ignored it.. i used different players for both videos and audio.  and they were fine until recently my laptop is experiencing real slow downs so i used the resotre cd.. so its freshly installed like out-of-the-box.  its sad because now when i'm multi-tasking while using winamp for music it keeps on stuttering.  i've exhausted everything and i'm not successful in figuring out what's wrong help me please... by the way i have vista home premium 64bit for os. thnx

thnx for the reply and im considering of the possibility of the device heating up but im sure its not because of the temp of the proc. however i think i might know the culprit for this.. the issue only happens when i'm using the laptops speakers and if the volume is maxed now if i would plug in a headphones or external speakers perhaps the issue wouldn't happen at all.. what could i possibly do about this one? i know i could get along by plugging in an extra device but i'm still bothered by the issue and hoping to solve it soon.. thnx

  • Contexant Audio Driver Issue

    Hello everyone,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-S5216. I was trying to use my smart audio to output an auxillery signal to my surround sound speakers. In order to do so I would have to select multi stream instead of classic (classic only allow for the right speakers to play) For some reason the multi stream wasn't working so I tried to update the drivers (or something, you'll have to forgive me I'm not very computer savvy) Instead, I messed up everything and smart audio wouldn't open anymore without saying something like "failed to open smart audio" I thought, ok, all I have to do is redownload the software..no. Every time I try it says installation failed. I always make sure I have the 64 bit driver or software, and even still it will not work. One time it said there was no media to complete the download. Please help, without the software I cannot play audio through my speakers OR surround sound.
Thanks for your replies ahead of time!!

my question is, how do I install this program again, and which one should I choose? Your response is greatly appreciated.
*when i try to install the driver off of the toshiba website it says "driver installation failed:could not find the media device for this driver* what the heck does that mean!?
