  • Audio Drivers for an XP install of a dv7t-1200?

I had to reformat my laptop and since Vista is still a mediocre at best OS, I decided to switch back to XP. Unfortunately, it seems as though HP has no audio drivers for this operating system. Is there any known way to get audio working on a dv7t-1200 under windows XP? Thank you in advance

Have you tried driver in C:\swsetup\driver ?

  • Can i custom install printer drivers later?

hello all. i just got a new HD for my macbook and i'm custom installing Mac OS X to save disk space i'm tight on. I'm not installing the extra language stuff and printer drivers. However, I was wondering if I find down the road that I need some printer drivers, can i just install them later with my Mac OS X disk (without having to do a reinstall of the entire OS)?
I'm still relatively new to the mac world, so sorry for the ignorance!
    Thanks!

Absolutely. You can install them using the "Optional Installs.pkg" that should be on your install disk. If you don't find "Optional Installs.pkg" you can find the individual packages in /System/Installation/Packages. If it is the Gimp-Print/Gutenprnt drivers that you want, get the latest from the project page.

  • MSI 785GM-E51 can't install audio drivers

Hey, I would be grateful if you could help me with this problem.
When I try to install the audio drivers of this mobo(785GM-E51), Windows 7 can't find them. It offers me another set of drivers - that of VIA's, but it should be Realtek's. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but I have a an issue with front panel microphone jack(it's not working), so I want to install the proper drivers. I tried disabling auto-installing option of Windows 7, and then install the drivers that MSI offers officially , but still the computer acts as if I didn't install anything.
EDIT: It seems that I have a different motherboard - in the document I have(about the parts of PC), it says that the computer has MSI 785GM-E51, but now that I checked the informationa about motherboard in the Windows itself, it appaars that ASrock M3A770DE is in the case. So I guess the fact that I can't install the MSI's drivers is because of different mobo. I have no idea how  this could've  happened.

    >>Posting Guide<<
Why don't you open up a case and read the model? Is the computer secured with some sort of sticker that voids warranty if opened?

  • I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit)...my headphones are not working. I can't find the 3.5mm jack that apple suggests using. I have tried installing/unistalling several different audio drivers. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I recently installed vista to my mac (32bit). My headphones are not working on it. I could not find the "3.5mm jack" that apple suggests to "solve" this issue. And I have tried installing/uninstalling audio drivers. Can anyone help?

you don't need several drivers, you just need the audio driver for your Mac, which you didn't list, but would be Cirrus or RealTek.
Along with uninstalling programs, go to Dev Manager and uninstall driver, or even rollback driver.
some people have trouble installing or finding driver that will install.

  • Garage band wont work, need to install midi or audio drivers?

tried backing up my comp to install OSX leopard but failed. now garage band wont work! I keep getting this message...also want to know if its possible to upgrade to osx leopard with a 4th gen macbook that runs osx 10.4.11
*garageband has detected a possible conflict between one or more third party midi or audio drivers.*
Be sure to install the latest drivers for all audio and MIDI equipment connected to your computer. For instructions on removing older drivers, consult the manufacturers' documentation.

Im having the same problem, I upgraded my IMAC and was using tiger and I upgraded it to MAC 10.5.7, now GarageBand wont work saying my midi and audio drivers arent correct. My Reason 4.0 wont start either saying the same thing failed to open the midi library. My Protools works fine but I dont know how to update the audio and midi drivers that it matches the software I uploaded. I also went to the audio midi set up and it read, Audio MIDI Setup was unable to launch the MIDI Server. This means that you will be unable to view or edit your MIDI configurations.
Improperly written MIDI drivers can prevent the MIDI Server from launching successfully. If you have recently installed a new MIDI driver, try uninstalling it and then relaunching Audio MIDI Setup. If Audio MIDI Setup works correctly after that, then please contact the driver's manufacturer for further support.

  • Satellite 2400-S251: XP audio drivers cannot be installed

i have a Satellite 2400-S251 and i just upgraded to Windows XP and now i have no sound.
I looked in my device manager and i don't see drivers but i see 4 different audio codecs.
I downloaded sound drivers from Toshiba's website (s240sndx.exe) to be exact. and it begins the installation but just when you think its almost done it just stops and says "driver not installed".
Does anyone have a solution for me?
Is it possible to manually place the INF files from the (s240sndx.exe) that I extracted to my C drive someplace. If yes then where?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes i presume it was a US download. i went to the page you gave me a link for and i downloaded the audio drivers. the same drivers to be exact and i have the same problem when i try to install. "audio drivers not installed". i went into control panel (sounds and audio devices) and it says at the top "no audio device" therefor i cant even turn anything up. nothing works. also in my device manager i don't have the yellow exclamation point next to sound/audio people normally get when something is not right. the audio codecs that are there say they are working properly. if there is any other questions feel free to ask i will help any way i can.

  • A few simple tips and questions. Neo2 system XP re-install, which audio drivers?

    My questions:
I'm re-installing my XP Pro system because I have decided I don't want to go with a 2GB primary partition as my first partition. Here are my questions.
    1) Should I update from 1.4 to BIOS 1.5 ?
    2) Which audio drivers should I use? nVidia Driver package 4.57? Or the Realtek ALCXXX_73 from nVidia website? Last time I actually accidentally installed the 4.60 audio MCP driver from the nForce 4 standalone package 6.39, but alas the sound was fine. (perhaps a little strange seeing as how my Neo2 is nForce3 and the 4.60 was from the nForce4 package.
Which audio drivers should I install?
    3) What is nVidia nTune, what can I do with it and should I bother with it?
    4) Which Catalyst driver should I install? The 29.7 MB driver with Catalyst Control Center or the 23.1 MB driver with Control Panel. Whats the difference and should I care?
I'll be using MSI update, keeping the windows IDE drivers, I may use the "speedfan" program but no digicell and no corecenter.
    thanx,
    My tips, See below:
    0) Do your first install with a minimum of hardware installed (add your PCI cards later)
    1) Research here for the proper BIOS settings for stable first boot and system install.
    -Disable Agressive Timings in BIOS
-Turn Off NV/ATI Speedup in hidden BIOS
    2) Install XP and SP2
    3) install video drivers
    4) Install nVidia UDP 5.10 (preferably without audio) and don't install the nVidia IDE drivers, just keep the XP drivers. (Use the XP windows IDE drivers) I used the nVidia LAN and it worked fine.
    5) Install Zone Alarm (or your prefered software firewall) and then hook up LAN, preferably behind a router
    6) Windows update once you have internet working
    7) Install AMD Athlon 64 processor driverv1.1.0.18
    8) Install audio drivers

Thanx 10-4 on that one. I edited my system install to reflect your idea by inserting Zone Alarm install BEFORE connecting to the internet. As an aside, I have a router which our PC's are connected to, so I'm reasonably safe for a few minutes
Also, I won't really be installing the ATI Catalyst drivers now, as I'm just using a Gforce2 GTS 32MB AGP for now and XP Pro installs perfectly adequate drivers. When I get my card back from ATI I'll install the Catalyst drivers then. I'd still like some advice on which driver to install when I do though
Anyone have any other tips in regards to my questions?

  • HP Pavilion a1210n with Windows Vista 32bit. looking for audio drivers. Can you point me to a link?

    Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion a1210n running Windows Vista 32bit. I'm missing the audio drivers and can't seem to find them. Can you point me to a link for these drivers?
    Thanks, It's much appricieated!

I found this link but it doesn't talk about audio drivers in the multimedia package. Am I missing something? Does Vista need to have all OS updates installed for this to work?
    Thanks again!

  • Satellite M40x- 286 - no audio drivers installed

Bought this laptop second hand and there are no audio drivers installed.
Please help me out. laptop runs on windows xp.

    Hi magorian,
I agree with PauPau. The drivers for your notebook can be downloaded on Toshiba European driver download page in *Archive*.
Furthermore make sure that SP3 is installed. It contains updates for sound drivers and a lot of security updates. If SP3 is already installed, start with sound driver installation.
If you have more questions, just post again! :)

  • I am rajendra i have compaq presario v2000 note book now i reload os winxp audio drivers not instal

Sir I am rajendra kumar I have compaq presario v2000 lap top I reinstal winxp os now I can't install audio drivers Please solve my problem

I noticed this is your first post, a comprehensive post just for asking XP drivers.
Please read XP downgrade guide, part 2, here
Your model, somehow forgot to be listed in part 2, but in general, part 2 should work for your model.
Read the guide so that you knew the advantages/disadvantages installing XP for your model.
About your request, try the following drivers
1.For Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, Here
    2.Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver
    Driver modded by silver here
Unzip to a folder..use Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
    No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
    Ignore XP when it complains.
    Reboot.
Please post again If you found the mic and external speaker are not working perfectly.
Post it with your Hardware ID.

  • Core Audio Drivers not Found Error (no Logic Pro Installed)

I am receiving the following error in GarageBand 08 and was hoping someone might be able to assist.
When recording with a USB mic in GarageBand 08 (MXL USB.006) I sometimes get the following error: (Core Audio Drivers not Found). The error occurs after I have completed a recording session and removed the USB mic. (The error occurs regardless of if I close GB before removing the mic; but only occasionally)
In checking the GB preferences, the Built-In audio option has disappeared from the drop down menu entirely for both Audio Input and Audio Output (although it still can find the USB mic if I reattach). In the Utilities folder, audio preferences, the Built-In audio option is also missing from the drop downs. (Not grayed out -- missing).
In researching the problem, it looks like a similar problem occurs with the Logic Pro suite but I don't have that installed on my Mac (and never have). In contacting MXL support, they noted that it was a problem with Leopard and they didn't have a fix.
At this point, I'm looking for either (1) a fix I've missed in my research or (2) an easy way to reinstall/replace/find the drivers without having to restore my system from backup. I've received the error three times now and restoring from back up - which clears the error and restores the drop down - is getting tiresome.
    Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion! I believe that was the issue the first time I lost the drivers. Unfortunately, even resetting the inputs and closing GB before disconnecting doesn't guarantee my Built-In audio won't disappear. Thank you for trying though!

  • K9A Platinum audio drivers won't install

I am trying to install the audio drivers for my K9A Platinum off of the cd that came with it and it gets about halfway through and the it says "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !!" Does anyone know what I could do?

Well, check all things already mentioned...
    - Bios: onboard sound enabled?
    - clean Windows install;
    - also, you can try the native drivers (not from MSI-website, but from Realtek's)
@Fredrik: I'm not going to spend time trying to understand Windows. XP is pretty good, but it still can be as stupid as possible... No use digging up the causes, there are too many possibilities that can cause the problems. Also, keep in mind that far most of the people don't get these problems. It looks like everyone has this problem, but that is because this is a tech support forum... people don't get in here to tell us that soemthing is working all right.
