Audio Drops After Encoding

Hi all,
I created a video in Premiere and sent it to AME to encode. It was a basic edit and everything worked on the timeline before I sent it to encode. After encoding to a 720p 59.94fps H.264 Quicktime, the last 2 minutes of audio on the video disappear. I've checked the audio track mixer window and that track is panned center.. The audio plays fine in Premiere.. I just don't know why it disappeared after being encoded. Can anyone help me to figure out why this happened? It caused some grief for me at work. Thanks!
-Cody

First of all, what version of Premiere Pro and AME are you using on what platform (Win or Mac)?
Can you try exporting your sequence directly from Premiere Pro without sending to AME?  Does it work?  If it does not work, you may want to try clearing media cache.  When none of Adobe applications are running, could you try deleting the media cache folders called "Media Cache" and "Media Cache Files" at
Mac: /Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common
Win: <OS drive>:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common
Then, open the project in Premiere Pro.  Please wait all import process to be done.  See the Premiere Pro main window's bottom right (see the screenshot below).  Please wait till all progress to be done.  Can you properly export now?

  • Audio levels after encoding

I have a project with stereo music and mono announce track "left filled" onto the right also.
After encoding to DVD, some of the music sections seem to dissapear. All the music is softer than it should be.
    any ideas???
    thanks

In the Audio Mixer Panel, what are the average Levels of your individual Tracks? While I mix to the actual Audio, and only use Levels to point out problems, you might gain a clue there.
Also, is this a straight Mixdown to a Stereo Master, or do you have any Track Mapping used?
I've yet to encounter any noticeable difference between my PrPro Audio and a burned DVD.
    Good luck,

  • Audio dropping after capture

I seem to be having a problem with audio dropping out after capturing. When I play the tape back in the camera the audio plays fine so I guess it was recoreded properly on the tape but when I play the captured footage back in FCP the audio drops out here and there. I am capturing from the camera which the footage was shot on (XL2). I've searched the forms for people with the same issue but can't find anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Just to check - are you using FCP4.5 and have recently upgraded to OSX4.9? Because if so that could be the issue; it was for me for something very similar. In which case your options are to upgrade FCP or downgrade OSX.
The other thing you could try - regardless of your system and version - is to capture using Vidi - http://www.mitzpettel.com/software/vidi.php (I only just recommended this to someone, I am not on commission honestly, it's free!)
I have found that Vidi will sometimes ignore timecode glitches etc that FCP is annoyingly sensitive to.

  • Audio drops after 10 seconds, Airport Express, Windows XP,  iTunes

    Looking for help with this.
Playing most any song in iTunes via Airport Express. At 9 to 11 seconds into each song, the audio drops out for about 1s, then comes back and continues to the end of the song. Occasionally the audio will drop in other places within a song. Annoying to say the least.
I have updated firmware to 6.3, and updated iTunes.
I have also tried changing almost all the settings in Airport Admin, I have it set to 40 bit WEP encryption, "interference robustness" enabled, multicast @2, and so on. If I change these settings, the problem gets worse.
(argh audio just dropped as I am writing this)
I live in an apartment building with several other wireless networks visible.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Asus Z71V   Windows XP

Hi. I also had this problem, running Windows XP with SP2
and the latest iTunes for Windows and the latest firmware
for my two airport expresses. I would get a dropout from
both expresses at around 12 seconds after a song would
start to play. This happened for every song.
I noticed using the Windows process monitor that the CPU would go to 100% at around 12 seconds after a song started.
I located the process that forced this, and it was called
'ashserv.exe'. This is the main executable run by Avast
Secure antivirus software. I'm running the free version.
I changed the level for avast from high level scanning to normal and my problem is gone.

  • Audio Drops after 6.0.5 Upgrade

I've been setting up a 3-node AirTunes network, and after it was all done I decided to upgrade from iTunes 4.7 to 6.0.5.
This completely trashed my streaming to remote speakers - I got frequent audio drops that make the music unlistenable.
So, sez I, "it's time for the Graphite ABS to go - let's go all 802.11g finally. And, just to be sure, let's get an external antenna".
So, I bought an Airport Extreme Base station and antenna.
Now, the problem is worse than ever.
I used to listen happily to music over AirTunes from iTunes 4.7. No drops.
Now, it doesn't work at all.
    Any thoughts?

Are you sure it is an Airport issue rather than iTunes truncating your music files?
Songs that used to play through to the end are now stopping after an indeterminate length of time (different for each song file, though AAC ITMS downloads seem to play without a hitch) for me.
I have tried many things to cure my problem but do not have a fix yet.
Or do your songs play as they should within iTunes but only cause you problems within the AirTunes set up. Ignore AirTunes for now and just concentrate on iTunes to determine if the fault lies within this application rather than your wireless set up.

  • ITunes 11 airplay audio drop after 19 seconds

iTunes 11 on Windows XP using Airplay the audio momentarily drops on each song after 19-20 seconds .  Did not happen with iTunes 10.  Tried again on my other pc (Win 8 with iTunes 10) still ok there.
Symptom shows up when streaming to Pioneer Airplay receiver and to Apple TV 2.  Can stream fine to them from iOS devices (iPad, iPhone4, iPhone 4s, iPod touch 3rd gen)
    Any work on this?
    Anyone else seeing this?
    Thanks

OK, I think I have solved it by following this advice from wesli_1:
To disable IPv6 in 10.7 run the following commands in Terminal:
    networksetup -listallnetworkservices
    networksetup -setv6off Ethernet
From this thread - An unknown error (-15006) occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device AirPort Express”. How do I solve this?

    Hi jaycmill,
Thanks for you post. Please go to edit/preferences and check the playback settings and audio hardware settings are set to black magic. Also, please check whether all the audio tracks show the waveform or not.

  • Audio drops problem iTunes with AE

I set up my AE to my hifi system. When playing music from iTunes, audio drops after 2-3 seconds. When I play a movie in iTunes, sound is fine.
I guess the problem has probably got something to do with sample frequency or bit rates. Any ideas?

I had similar problems with AE. Here my solution:
I have a French (Livebox) DSL modem with Wifi support. My MiniMac is connected to the DSL modem with an ethernet cable and Airport (did not check if I really need both). I have a MacBook connected over Wifi. The MacBook runs Leopard and iTunes 8. I configured the AE through the MacBook. This configuration worked only by using the ethernet cable connection between AE and MacBook. Once configured using the Airport utility with "Wireless Mode'='Join a wireless network' and using a 'manual' configuration, the AE booted correctly up to the static green LED. Streaming audio with iTunes worked corretly in this configuration.
I then wanted to stream audio from my MiniMac running Tiger and iTunes 8. I had the same problems as reported. 2-3 minutes correct working, then yellow blinking LED and again 2-3 green static LED and audio, then again yellow blinking LED.
Goggling sometime I found a site from which I could download older iTunes versions. I deinstalled iTunes8 on my MiniMac and installed iTunes7.4. That solved my problems! I can now stream audio from my MiniMac to AE without interruptions. Conclusion: Leopard + iTunes8 works, Tiger + iTunes8 does not work, Tiger + iTunes7.4 works.

  • IDVD halts after encoding videos but before audio

I have made many iDVD's of our travel pictures, including both pictures and videos. However, my current iMovie won't complet e the process and always stops after encoding the videos but does not encode the audios. At that point, the gumball just sets there and spins for many hours (overnight, etc.) and when using the "force quit" the drop down says iDVD not responding" in red. I have tried about 5 times with no result. Any suggestions as to what I should do will be appreciated. Thank you. R. L. Anderson, M.D.

Hang in there. This is "Normal." In fact, contrary to what the computer is telling you, the computer is processing the audio.
Adding audio to your iMovie causes this problem. There are two work arounds.
    1. Export your iMovie back to your camcorder, then input the movie back into a new iMovie, add your chapters and export to iDVD. The audio encoding may hang up but it will only be for a few minutes.
    2. Export iMovie as a Quicktime movie, then reimport the Quicktime movie to iMovie, add chapters, export to iDVD.
If you search this the iDVD forum for "audio encoding" you'll see loads of messages on this topic.

  • Audio level higher than needed after encoding

    Hi,
    I'm editing a film.
Voice over level is set to maximum for most part of it. It sounds as it supposed to sound after encoding.
There are several parts of the film that are supposed to be quiet. They are set as quiet on the timeline and do sound quiet during preview playback.
The problem is after I export the film to mpeg (I've also tried many other formats) the sound level in those quiet parts is automatically raised to very high. Those pieces sound almost as loud as the voice over. Looks like Premiere or Media Encoder have some automated audio level normalization or something like this.
I've tried to find encoding settings that are perhaps responsible for that, and I've also looked up for a solution on Adobe forums -- but I couldn't find anythind appropriate.
    I'm using Premiere CS5 on a PC.
    Thanks in advance!
This man seems to have the same issue: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/906064

    Igor,
Always glad to help, even if not directly.
I use MediaPlayer Classic HC for playback testing on the computer, and it seems to handle my Audio better than WMP, and some others. Do not know KM, so cannot comment on it.
I also edit Audio by ear, with but a glance at dB levels, from time to time.
Now, though you're probably way ahead of it, this ARTICLE gives some tips on Audio Levels, and some different methods of adjusting them.
    Good luck,

  • MPEG-2 file with AC3 5.1 audio: no audio (neither in current video playback, nor after encode), but plays okay in QuickTime X

    Mavericks 10.9.3
Latest Mac Mini, 8GB RAM, two 256GB SSD
    Compressor 4.1.1
I have an MPEG-2 file with AC3 5.1 audio which plays in QuickTime X as expected.
I have a second MacBook Pro with Compressor 4.1.1, where the audio is fine - both as current video playback of the source, and post-encode using Apple Devices HD (best quality) setting.
However in the Mac Mini Compressor there is no audio (neither in current video playback of the source, nor after encode using Apple Devices HD (best quality) setting).
    Troubleshooting
    - main difference between machines is the Mac Mini has Elgato software (EyeTV and Game Capture HD)
    - I've checked the QuickTime components are same on both machines, except for EyeTV audio component on Mac Mini
    - there are no plug-in audio components
    - I've repaired permissions using Disk Utility
    - I moved Compressor to trash, deleted compressor plist files, and reinstalled

  • Audio drops out when scrolling playlists after upgrading new version of 9.2

    Hi Folks,
Has anyone noticed an issue when scrolling the playlists in Itunes now that the audio drops out for a second.
I use an external USB audio device by Native Instruments called the Audio Kontrol 1.
I have watched the processes on my PC and when I scroll up and down on the playlist. Something spikes causing audio to not play for a second.
I am hoping to fix this somehow as I do not want to roll back (not even sure if you can). I also have heard with dual core processors that occasionally audio can get stopped as other processes take over where in single core processors everything cued up (any truth to that).
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much X & Paul, for your suggestions. Although they didn't solve the problem, they kept me hopeful enough to continue my quest for an answer. After exhausting all effort to find the problem in the audio, I decided to focus on the video. So, I tried correcting the excess luma on the consolidated QT movie, and suddenly the problem was fixed. Because of the different levels of correction I'd need for each and every cut in the original sequence, and the precious time it would take, I'd planned to save it for the color correction stage, a mere 2 weeks away. I remembered how illegal white would often cause the image on some monitors, specifically consumer TVs, to waver for a second. But this was happening all the way back to the DV deck's audio meter, so I never expected it to be a luma issue.
I assume that the outdating capacity of my G4 played a part, but I wanted to write back with my thanks, and to impart my illuminated wisdom to the next perplexed soul.
    Thanks again,

  • Video playback slow and audio drop out after render

    Hi
I have downloaded a trial version of After Effects from the cc,
Problem is everytime I render ou,t the video playback is slow and the audio drops out
This happens with AVI or Quicktime files.
Using a Intel i5 quad core, 8 gig of ram 250 gig ssd.laptop
Render/export in Premire pro is fine.
    Can any one help.
    Regards Phil Green
    Blue Room Media.

It sounds like you might be hitting the space bar in hopes of getting real time playback.  Sorry, but AE doesn't work like that, because it does totally different things from an editing application like Premiere.
And if you've downloaded the tryout version, you really ought to learn how AE works... and a short description is "it doesn't work intuitively".  You can frustrate yourself in a hurry.
    But this can really help;

  • Audio drop out after burning to iDVD

I am running FCE 2 and checked all of my audio (mixed it down and everything). Plays well when I run FCE. When I burn the clips to iDVD, I notice that the audio drops out in certain scenes, and it's the same scenes. Ruined 5 dvds so far after trying to a few things.
I am using all internal HDs (Extended Journaled). Any suggested would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi
    a. Audio from iTunes - has to be used by a work around
I do - create a Playlist in iTunes with needed audio
Burn out as an Audio-CD (.aiff) Not .mp3
Use this audio in Your FinalCut project
    b. I do from FCE/P to iDVD
    • Export out as a QuickTime .mov file
    • Not selfcontained (not important but saves time and space)
    • NO QUICKTIME Conversion (Important)
    c. To get iDVD to run OK
    • Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk ! (others of no importance)
    • I use Verbatim DVDs
    • DVD-R
    • Burn speed set down to x4 or x1 (only relevant to newer iDVD)
(Instead download the Hack (Hurz and Pfurz) that makes it possibly to do a DiskImage with iDVD4
if earlier iDVD versions - forget this
then save as a DiskImage - test it with DVD-player tool and see that it runns OK
THEN do the actual DVD burn by using Disk Util tool from this DVD image You just did.
AND Here You can set down burn speed to x4 or x1.
    • iDVD 4 disc image burning can be enabled through the patch Hurz and Pfurz - search the net.
    Good luck Yours Bengt W

  • Audio drops out for about 2 seconds after about 2 hours

Hey folks....I've been renting HD movies, and I've noticed a bit of a pattern. Three times now, at some point just after about two hours the audio drops out for about two seconds. It's not exactly the same time - on one movie it was at 2:02:26 and another it was at 2:04:18. It's only two seconds, so it's really of no consequence. Just now it was during the closing credits (the music). Before, it was that scene in Batman where the two ferries are stalled on the river.
Of course, I would rewind to make sure. I use the optical out.
