Audio drops and Screen position lock issues

Since upgrading to 4.0.1 I now have the screen lock icon (like the ipad) to the left of the clock. And the Audio drops all the time, music plays BUT no volume. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Ok,found the solution to unlock the screen orientation in either portrait or landscape mode. Found by double clicking the home button (multi-tasking)
As for the audio not working, still have NOT found the solution.

hi All,
i put some photos and videos together in idvd project. The used one of their standard sound tracks to give the background music. The preview looked great so i burned the dvd but to my surprise when a particular video played around 8 min into the dvd the audio dropped and came about a min later with other photos getting it totally out of sync. I have tried removing few photos before that video comes to shift the video's location, there is a minor effect, it playes the clips audio in sync for slightly a sec or two longer but then drops and come back out of sync when it is showing still photos.

We have heard nothing about any changes in Encore for CC. I would be very surprised if anything fundamental, like the preview engine, has changed. We really don't know what is still the old sonic authorcore, what may have changed but is still sonic, and what is Adobe created. I have always assumed the preview is sonic.
Is the audio sync issue Bluray only, H.264 bluray only, or any particular audio formats? I don't recall getting the issue in Encore DVD playback.

First make sure the batteries aren't dead and that the keyboard hasn't already been paired with another device. If it hasn't, the keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.

Airport Express Audio Drop and Network issue

I have a Dell Laptop, DLink G604T router and Airport Express. When I first bought the airport express I successfully got it to join my existing Dlink wireless network and I could happily stream music wirelessly to the airport express and maintain a wireless internet connection through the Dlink router.
Since then I started having issues with audio drops to the Airport express and despite doing a lot of searching on the discussion forums and internet and trying different things have never solved the issue.
The one thing that does seem to work is if I create a new wireless network with the Airport Express rather than joining the existing Dlink one. I can then stream music flawlessly all day long. The down side is I then can't get internet access wirelessly at the same time. I have to disconnect from one network and connect to the other.
If I connect the dlink router to the airport express by ethernet and use the Dlink router just as a modem I think the issue will be resolved but this is not convenient due to position of router and airport express.
So the question is, Can I get the Dlink router to join the Airport Express Wireless network wirlessly rather than the AE joining the Dlink wireless network? Any thoughts on whether this is possible and if so how?

I had one AE base unit, where network connection would disapear every other day. The light would still be green on the AE, but the signal from the AE could not be picked up nor seen by the computer. Only turning the AE off and back on, would make it appear and work again. I Changed the AE unit, and I dont have the problem any more. I didnt change any settings at all.
So in my case, it was the AE base unit that was malfunctioning.
I have also seen similar problems with a different cause: That the wifi network card in the computer wasnt connected properly. ..
I dont think its a software problem

Siri problem: volume suddenly drops and screen goes dark when turning phone

Hi, just wondering if anyone else has or had this problem. It's been hard to quantify, but here goes.
A number of time, when I use siri, I will hold the button down to ask a question. Sometimes the volume will drop to a very quiet level so I can barely hear the response. Then the volume will pop right back up to its normal volume. The screen also goes black at this time, and when the volume pops back up, the screen will show the normal info it should at that time, such as what I said, or the clock if I asked for the time, or siri's quote, etc.
Many times I will pick up my phone from a flat surface and turn it on its side as if making a call, and that is when this will happen, as opposed to me holding it flat. It also seems to occur in the morning, when the phone has been asleep overnight or it may be from cooler morning temps.
Any ideas as to whether this is a hardware problem? I've only had the phones couple of months. It's happened so many times now I'm finally seeing this pattern I described.

Ps... I've never had this problem with my ipad 3rd gen, even though I've truest to recreate the conditions, turning it, trying first thing in the morning and so on.

Screen position locked on iPhone 4

When i rotate the phone sideways the screen doesnt rotate, it stays in the same position.
is there a setting somewhere to turn this position lock off?

The home screen will not turn sideways. However, if you are having problems in other screens, double click the home button until the multitasking window comes up on the bottom. Scroll it all the way to the left and you will find the lock button. press it and the lock should disappear.

Trying to upgrade OS on an original iPad. Screen is locked showing iTunes/USB cable icons. Connected to iTunes and get an error 3014 message stating it cannot be restored and screen is locked in this mode. How do I unlock?

Trying to update OS on an original iPad. Cannot unlock screen to use nor can I update or restore, so iPad not usable at this point. How can I unlock screen so I can use iPad, how do I fix this error? Latest version of iTunes is downloaded and I've followed all the instructions in regard to Windows. I'd at least like to unlock iPad so it can be used. Thanks.

Try deleting an other icloud backup and see if it will automatically backup.

Video Freezing, Audio Drops and Numerous Reboots

Last night trying to watch the National geographic HD channel at 8:00pm I got that horrible video freeze (again) that would occur ever 5 secs or so plus audio drop outs and pixelation. I already had a tech out to check this out and he said all the levels at all my DVR's are just fine. I unplugged the DVR and rebooted it a few times within the hour show to be able watch the show but to no avail. Also, major "lip sync" audio lag on NBC HD until I rebooted. I have (3) 7216 DVR's and I am getting sick of having to unplug them and reboot several times a week not to mention the constant audio drops (2 of them) every time I come out of a fast forward, rewind or pause. They say IMG 1.6.1 or 1.7 will fix some of these problems but my family is really getting fed up with the problems.

IChat - audio, video and screen sharing no longer work

I use ichat video and screen share to visit with family and assist with computer work. Every since .mac changed to .me, I am no longer able to do anything but text message...... I have changed ports, changed from .mac to .me logins. But still not luck. Nothing has changed with routers. Working with cable modems and DSL..... Looking for help.

The Screen Sharing through iChat and the Audio only and Video chats do not require the AIM servers other than to say your Buddy is On-line.
There is feedback from the AIM servers to say what capabilities your Buddies have.
You can see these if you look at their Info card (Click on a Buddy and use Apple key and i together)
Now if the Buddy does not show the capability then it may well be the AIM server.
But..... IF you have turned off (or it has become turned Off) either of the Camera Enabled or Microphone Enabled items in the Video menu (from menu bar) then you will not have the capability and will therefore not see other people.
One clue will be in the Buddies Menu about whether you can do One Way Video or Audio chats. If it says you can it is the AIM end.

Key and screen keep locking

I have just bought an Asha 300, and am still coming to grips with it. I know you can lock the keys and screen with the key lock button. However, whenever I leave the phone for a few minutes, when I come back, the keypad has locked itself, and I have to unlock it. Is there any way of stopping it from locking automatically?

No this is an auto lock safety feature to stop accidental key presses.
