Audio elements in CS6

I just recently upgraded my suite from Encore CS5.0 to 6.01 (on a Mac).
When I started a new dvd project and imported all my pre-encoded/compliant elements, the stereo WAV file said Untranscoded under the blu-ray transcode status.  Normally this wouldn't matter since I was making a dvd, but I had just made a blu-ray the other day using this same audio file in CS5 and I was pretty sure that it said Don't Transcode when I was making that.
Sure enough, when I opened the old bd project in CS5, the elements said Don't Transcode in both the dvd and bd status columns.  When I opened the project in CS6, it said Untranscoded in the bd status, and I was unable to pick Do Not Transcode in the Properties tab.
As a test, I duplicated the file in Finder and dragged it into a new project.  The copy said Do Not Transcode across the board in both Encore versions.  ????
Anybody else having trouble with how CS6 is seeing audio files?  This could just be some strange fluke, but there were definitely different results based on the Encore version.
Randy.

Mylenium.  Thanks for the reply.  There may be something to what you suggest, but there's still a bit of weirdness.
With the couple tests I did just now with totally new projects saved  in a completely different location from each other, it seemed that the transcode status was dependent on the version of Encore AND what was originally selected for the project settings.  If blu-ray was selected for the project setting, then both Encore versions showed Do Not Transcode across the board in both the bd and dvd status columns.  If dvd was selected for the project setting when starting a new project, then CS5 said Do Not Transcode, and CS6 said Untranscoded (like the graphic above).  Going into the project settings and changing it to blu-ray did not help change that status.
HOWEVER, I can only duplicate this strange discrepancy by doing these magical steps in this exact order:
- first opening a CS5 project in CS5, closing - don't save, quitting Encore
- opening that same project in CS6, closing - don't save
- start new dvd project in CS6, (pointed to new or same save location as other project), drag in same audio files used in other project
At that point, deleting the files in the project, deleting cache folder, and cleaning Media Cache Database all seem to not help.  If I drag those audio files in again, some will now say Untranscoded when they really should be good to go.  Quitting and reopening CS6 fixes this.
Basically just don't do those steps.

  • How to change the source file of audio elements

    Hi,
    I am using adobe edge version 3 to add audio to a website.I use both .ogg and .mp3 files.
    Inside the _edge.js file the audio element has 2 sources (one for .ogg and one for .mp3)
                    id: 'audio_element_id',
                    type: 'audio',
                    tag: 'audio',
                    rect: ['0', '0','320px','45px','auto', 'auto'],
                    source: ['source_file.mp3','source_file4.ogg']
    I want to change the source file of the audio_element programatically......
    So i am using the following code inside edgeActions.js to change the source
    sym.$("audio_element_id")[0].src="new_source_file.mp3";
    But this will change the source of both(.mp3 and .ogg ) to  new_source_file.mp3
    I want to change the source induvidually. What should i do??
    Also I wanted to know what " [0] " stands for in " sym.$("my_audio_element")[0].play(); "
    Please give me an example of a situation wherein i have to change the value of [0].
    Thank you
    Nithin

    you should create a different directory for each dvd on your hard drive and put the files where they belong eg: dvd1, dvd2, dvd3
    then create 3 bins in your project manager called dvd1, dvd2, dvd3 and put the relevant files into the bins ( can import whole folders into each respective bin )
    OR rename your files using something like " renamer" before importing to premiere
    otherwise youll have a mess of a time trying to figure out whats what...maybe someone else has a better solution

  • Audio skipping issue CS6

    I'm having an issue with skipping audio in Premiere CS6. (Latest version). I checked the forum and it has been suggested that it could have been an interupted conform - but have tried setting up a new project, re-importing, re-booting, moving the original file and relinking... Nothing has solved the issue.
    The playhead and video move as normal, but the audio appears to be 2 second clips from all over the timeline - completely out of sync.
    I'm using a mid 2010 MBP with 8 gig of ram.
    The edit isn't a complex one - a single video file with 2 audio tracks, although it's a big file:
    Needless to say the audio is fine when the file is played outside of Pr - and actually in desperation tried a new project on a much older MBP (2007ish - 4g ram) which handled the project fine with no issues. I can't use this machine for any more complex edits though! The 2010 machine struggles enough.
    Thanks - I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    May I ask if you have installed/uninstalled ANY software into your computer between having the problem, and now that it's working fine? I'm tending to suspect something like that is causing the problem.
    I haven't really kept track of what I've installed/uninstalled. But I can't remember anything that would change the way the iPod works. No OS X updates, no iTunes updates, nothing to do with USB, etc.
    I updated the iPod to the newest version of its OS (1.1.1) before I had the problem, but that didn't change. When I restored, though, it should have wiped out any traces of the original iPod OS, I think, and just installed the newest one.
    One thing that I did do was that when I was restoring it, I didn't do a lot of messing around on the computer. Keeping in mind that it connects via USB, and that it appears that the iPod doesn't reboot like the older iPods when you're done syncing, I reasoned that there must be two-way communication between devices. Since USB performance is susceptible to CPU load, I let it just sit while it was syncing to keep that load down.
    Before I restored, I did get an error where the iPod and iTunes lost contact while they were syncing. But it might also have been a cable that wasn't seated tight enough, too.

  • Troubleshooting Audio Recording Premiere CS6

    I'm having a problem recording audio in Premiere CS6, it appears that the input isn't getting to Premiere at all. It works fine in Audition and I have recorded there and imported to Premiere, but...I have checked the preferences and the correct mike is selected, I've picked other inputs with the same results. I'm using a USB (Logitech) microphone, my other input is my webcam.
    TIA

  • What level of Photoshop (Elements, Lightroom, CS6) would I need

    We have 8" x 10" radiochromic film (like conventional x-ray film, except that it self develops without chemical solutions) that has a reflective backing built in (doubles the path length through the sensitive emulsion).
    I want to do a reflective scan (very easy with VueScan) and then do two things to the resulting TIFF file:
    1. Use a histogram to adjust the black and white levels to optimize contrast for the image.
    2. Change the greyscale range to a color range using a linear transformation (i.e., 0 = black, goes to red; 255= white, goes to blue) for easier viewing .
    What level of Photoshop (Elements, Lightroom, CS6) would I need to do this?
    Thank you

    For simple file manipulation Photoshop Elements would be enough and in your case the best.

  • Custom Audio Element : flush buffer and synchronize execution of a media

    Hi,
    Everything is in the title ! I found a discussion on an older Cisco forum (here is the link https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-48793 ) about flushing the dtmf buffer. A jar file was attached to the discussion. It contains two custom audio elements (by overriding the "addxmlbody" method) : the first one is used to flush dtmf buffer to prevent the interruption of the next audio and the second permits to a synchronous completion of the media playing.
    Is it possible to merge this two elements in only one with two functionalities ?
    Thanks.

    I mean, do somethig like this:
          * This will get called when there's data pushed from the
          * PushBufferDataSource (ex. RTP, VoD or microCapture)
         public void transferData(PushBufferStream stream)
             try {
              stream.read(readBuffer);
             } catch (IOException e) {
              System.err.println(e);
              sendEvent(new DataSinkErrorEvent(this, e.getMessage()));
              return;
             sendOverUDP(toBytes(readBuffer));
             // Check to see if we are done with all the streams.
             if (readBuffer.isEOM() && checkDone(stream)) {
              sendEvent(new EndOfStreamEvent(this));
           //Convert buffer to byte array
            public byte[] toBytes(Buffer buffer){
                ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
                try{
                    ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(baos);
                    oos.writeObject(buffer);
                }catch(java.io.IOException ioe){}
                return baos.toByteArray();
            }Is it would be correct? Because Now I'm implementing a byteBufferDataSource to create a DataSource from the byteBuffer to play it. But I'm not sure if I'n in the good way! What do you think?
    Thanks!

  • Iphone html 5 and audio element

    Will the Iphone Safari browser play the html 5 <audio> element. Will it display a button or player to click on?
    I want to make an app for iphone that is basically a web wite with pages that have a audio button on them. Is possible? Where is good discussion group for iphone apps.
    Thanks

    I woud prefer to use the HTML 5 settings for YouTubes but the great point is that it's all HTML 5 video. YouTube was an example. Additionally, the issue would still remain for Quicklook as well.
    Any other ideas or links to threads. I've looked but have not found anything helpful.
    Thanks

  • Strange audio element behaviour

    My HTML5 audio elements are not functioning as expected. I set a script to set the volume of all elements at 0.1 upon loading, and IT DOES, but they sound vastly louder than chrome or explorer. Also, my volume controls DO change the volume - but no audible change occurs! My mute buttons also do not work! I've asked all over the internet and this is my last resort. • Import from Premiere Elements to CS6 - Video sequence missing

    Hi,
    I just switched from Elements 10 to Premier Pro CS6 and I tried to import my PREL files. Everything went fine, except that I only see my audio sequences not the video's and titles. If I play the video, everything is like it should, even the titles appear.
    There are two sequence files in the project window. One seems to be empty, but at least the video tracks are visible. The other sequence is my elements project but I can only see the audio tracks and can't see the titles in the tracks.
    I hope you understand my problem.

    General wisdom is to finish current projects in the software and version they were started in, and only use the new software or version for new projects.

  • I'm new to photoshop-should I get elements or cs6?

    I'm new to photoshop, and I can't tell which version of photoshop to get? Do I get elements 11, or cs6?
    I don't have a massive budget, as I am new, but I want to be able to start editing pictures.  Please can someone advise which I should get?I'm very confused with how many different types of programmes are available!
    Thanks!

    PSE11 is a good start but you could also try Corel's product from this link:  <http://www.corel.com/corel/product/index.jsp?pid=prod4900067>  Personally, I prefer corel's product and it is priced very competitively at Amazon.  They also have an ultimate version but not sure if you need that.
    Good luck.

  • Audio in premiere CS6

    hi, folks,
    i'm running premiere pro cs6 with a sound blaster recond 3d PCIe soundcard.  all works well if i use computer speakers, or if i plug headphones directly into the soundcard.   but if i connect to an onkyo receiver via SPDIF out, there is a slight delay in the audio output.  has anyone encountered this problem, and/or solved it?
    thanks.

    This forum is for suite specific issues only. You’ll get far more help in the Premiere Pro forum.

    The PleaseHold1 and 2 prompts are about 7-10 seconds, and the music ones are 30 minutes each. These acutally play, and to the caller it sounds like everything is working well, except the CVP call server is over there blowing up the logs...like 60KB of new data every second per call. I ran a http client debug on the VXML gateway and it appears that it just keeps making repeated requests for the data. This seems to happen on every audio step across all of the scripts that I have, except I never noticed it because they have elements besides just audio steps that seem to cause it not to be an issue. The logs seem to only blow up like this if I have a loop in CVP with just audio steps.
    The only workaround I've found is to run through the loop once, return to ICM, then re-invoke it.

    Try using getdigit to play the prompt and music file with interdigit timeout as 1 sec and number of retries as 1. This would avoid all the logs. However, it will add 1 sec delay, which would be certainly unnoticed.

  • Audio dropping in CS6

    Hi Guys,
    I have a strange problem with Audio dropping in Premier Pro CS6. The original MPEG file plays fine from start to finish – in Premier Pro the audio also plays fine up until the last 2 minutes of footage, then drops completely. I tried transcoding the file in Prelude to AVI, but I got the same result. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
    Note: original file plays fine from start-finish
    Camera: HVR-A1P
    Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
    Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

    I am still having the same problem after 2 months. After searching extensively the audio/video sync problem seems to be quit widespread and on different versions of Premier Pro.
    In Summary
    The audio/video are in sync on VLC, Media Player etc -- the problem only exists when importing into Premier Pro CS6. It is taking ages to re-align the audio/video in PPro which is not a solution.

  • ERROR: DW050 on Elements and CS6

    I am attempting to install Photoshop Elements 10 (I have a key for it) on my Mac running OSX 10.8 and keep getting ERROR: DW050. I also tried to download CS6 and ran into the same problem.
    I've tried following troubleshoot directions and still no fix. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thank you

  • Problem with playback of burned audio cd (using CS6)

    When playing back cd tracks on an audio cd created with CS6, there is a very slight fade-in or loss at the beginning of each track. What causes this and can it be eliminated?  No problems playing the track files on the cd layout in CS6, but only when playing the actual cd in a home or car cd player.

    Get the latest firmware update for the ipod.
    If that doesn't fix it-stop using videora. It is a buggy piece of software that causes the majority of problems posted here regarding video.
