Audio ends before the video - PPro CS4

I am using PPro CS4 on windows 7 Home Premium 64bits (i7 - 6Gb - NVIDIA Quadro FX 580 - SATA hd's ...).
AVCHD Video format were recorded with a Panasonic TM700 (audio is 5.1) and downloaded to the HD using Panasonic HD Writer software.
I am able to play the video along the audio of each clip using the Windows Media Player, for instance.
But when I import the clip to PPro CS4, "most of the time" the audio ends well before the video for each clip. The audio lenght will vary from 1/3rd to 2/3rd of the total lenght of the clip. And sometimes it plays all the way. I just can't figure out what is happening. At first I thought I should give more time for the audio to be processed even after the encoding bar (lower left of the PPro screen) had finished, but it didn't help.
Anybody?

Thank you Hunt for your fast reply.
Unfortunately I won't be able to answer most of your question due to lack of knowledge.
Files are as they were recorded, AVCH and 5.1 audio downloaded directly from the SD card and camera memory (Panasonic TM700). No convertion made.
No file size limitation whatsoever.
I do give plenty of time for the files to conform - at first I thought it could be the problem (in my GUI is a yellow bar on lower right)
When I play the files on Media Player, the audio plays without any problem for the whole lenght of the video. So I assume the file is not corrupted.
Any clue about this issue?  Tks again

  • When I add media from my dLink surveillance camera, the avi files always land in audio instead of the video area. Why, and how can I get them to land as visual?

    I am trying to edit some of the surveillance videos taken from our dLink camera of the dogs playing when we are not home, but when I import the .avi files, it always just goes to the audio portion (of Premiere Elements 11) and nothing shows up as video. What am I doing wrong? Please know, I am completely new at this program, since I bought it for the purpose of playing with my dLink home camera videos and haven't been able to do a single thing with them as of yet due to how they are importing. I did "get media" from my Bloggie camera to see if that worked, and it did come across as a video and not just audio, so I am not sure why the other isn't working.

    ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
    I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
    I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
    Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

  • How to add a Title (slide? screen?) BEFORE the video track

    Hello,
    I'm very new to Adobe Premiere Pro and I'm trying to figure out how to add a title to my project but I don't want the title on the start of the video in the sequence. I'd like to add it to a black screen, maybe with some transition effects, that will play prior to the video starting. Do I need to create a black image in CS and add it as a still and just add the title to the still which I can position before the video/audio track A starts?
    I'm hoping that there's something I can do right within Premiere that will give me a place to put the title before my video starts. I didn't see an option to add a blank slide or something to that effect that I can add title to.
    thanks for your assistance!
    The more I learn the more excited I get, this software is great.

    Thanks for the link.. like I said in my post, I'm brand new to the software and I've been watching and following guides for hours. Time is not on my side, I have a project that must be done by the end of this week and I have very limited time after work.
    So when I have the head at the begining of my main track and click INSERT in the source monitor window it inserts a duplicate of the entire video so I have TWO videos in my sequence. This is clearly not what I'm wanting so I'm assuming that there's something I'm missing. I've searched google but don't see anything.
    I'm just looking to add a black, blank screen that I can add a title to before my video begins. I realize this may be rudamentary to season vets but as I said, I'm very new and trying to learn this all quickly and I would really appreciate if someone could point me directly to some information about it. I'm not afraid to read and learn, hell I love it, but I'm pressed for time so someone just telling me, "go learn the software" with a link to a huge FAQ, doesn't really help me.
    I've already learned a ton from some great guides but I have yet to have anyone indicate how to add extra footage (be it a still or blank video) directly from Premiere Pro.
    Thank you all for your time!
    EDIT: I think I figured it out... I just bumped the start of the main track up about 10 seconds and I added new item "Black Screen" right in front of it. I will add the title to this. Thanks all.

  • Media encoder stops encoding at the end of the video (Premiere CC 2014)

    I've finished editing a video (just under 4 minutes). When I try to export it to a windows media file (HD 1080p) it always stops encoding at around the 50% mark.
    I have tried exporting to a shared network drive as well as the local hard drive with the same results.
    I have it set to: Mercury Playback Engine Software Only
    I have tried to export directly from Premiere and from Media Encoder.
    I looked at where it stops when exporting from Encoder through the preview window. It seems to reach the end of the video and stops right where I fade out to white and the music ends. The interesting part it that the timer shows 50% left to complete
    It doesn't crash... it just sits there with the timer increasing and never continues
    I'm not using any plugins.
    At the point where it stops, I have a "Dip to White" transition on the one video clip and no audio transitions applied to the soundtrack since it ends nicely with the video.
    Please let me know if there's anything else I can/should explain to get some help. Thank you so much for your help.

    Peferling... I have a positive update! I went to the area that typically made things die. I noticed it was at the tail end of where I inserted a sequence into another sequence. I also noticed I had three tracks in that section with graphics. So I copied all the tracks from the inserted sequence... then removed the inserted sequence and re-inserted the actual tracks. At this point I no longer had an inserted sequence. I then simplified the three tracks of graphics into one. Re-applied my transitions and did last tweaking. I once again tried exporting as H.264 HD... et voila! It worked! Something must have been breaking it.
    For now I'm okay and have been able to export into other formats. I want to thank you so much for your input. Regards, Nelson

    There is a little white bar. When you have your TV connected, move the white bar to the other display. Your main desktop is now the TV screen

  • Is there any way to cut audio while keeping the video it is tied to?

    ok, I have a video from a dvd i burned on FCE but the sound is messed up. I am going to be making a AMV with it anyway so I don't really need the audio. Is there any way of cutting the audio without disturbing the video it was imported with. I must stress that they were not imported separately.

    Place the footage in the timeline. Click the lock key on the vidoe time line. This will place a screen looking thing over the video. Select the audio in the time line and press delete. That will delete the audio but keep the video. Then unclick the lock key and all should be well. Always remeber the "undo" option if you mess up. I use it all the time.

  • How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

    How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

    Binbashi
    You can separate the audio track from video and save it to a DVD disc within Premiere Elements but not a CD disc.
    To do save to the audio to DVD disc, you do not have to separate linked audio video, just use the export Publish+Share/Computer/Audio and set Presets to the wanted format (AAC, AIFF, MP3, or Windows Waveform (WAV).
    You will not see Audio in the choices since it is at the bottom of the list of choices under Publish+Share/Computer/. You will need to use the thin scroll bar to the right of the choices to scroll to it.
    If you need information on selective export of Timeline content when dealing with more than just this one file on the Timeline, please let us know. If you are trying to produce a CD for listening in car or CD player elsewhere, please let us know.
    Looking forward to learning of your results.

    I'm new to soundtrack pro 2, could I export my audio files including the video?
    I tried, but all i get was audio...

    Export -> Master Mix - choose the File Type -> *Using Compressor*, this will give you options for re-encoding or preserving the video file.

  • Six Days before the announcement to CS4 - No Upgrade to CS4

    We purchased both Adobe Master Collection CS3.3 for the Senior tech writer and Design Premium 3.3 for myself. We have had neither CS3.3 suites for a month, I loaded the Design Premium last Wednesday the 17th of September (when I received it). I was told since I ordered the CS3.3 Design Premium before September 23, SIX days before the announcement of CS4 I was not eligible for an upgrade to CS4 without cost. Needless to say I am peeved with Adobe. Another example of Adobe ripping off their custmers. They are the only game in town, and they act like it!!!!!!!
    An extremely unsatisfied customer.

    Fred,
    In the corporate world, when you order software does not mean you get it that same day. This software was budgeted for in July, the day when the company I work for finally ordered it appears to be August 28, 2008 (date on the licensing email from ADOBE). I received it the 17th.
    One would think that a reputable software company, knowing that it would soon be releasing a new release would ask their customer before hand if they wanted the new release over the one they ordered. To save themselves hassles so they would not have to deal with customer dissatisfaction, because that what I am a dissatisfied customer, which leads me to believe that Adobe is not a reputable company and has really tarnished my image of them. It will be really hard for me to order or recommend to order another of their products to purchasing if another vendor makes a similar product.

  • I have a orange audio bar that doesn't extend to the end of the video clip. How can I get the whole audio?

    In my video clip there is an orange bar that does't extend to the end of the clip. I think this is an audio bar. How do I get the full audio to play when I move the clip to the project?

    Did you try to set it up "as new ipod" without using the latest backup? The backup might contain damaged data causing your problem. If setting up "as new" does not work, you'll have to get it serviced.

  • Preloader only fills 1/2 way before the video starts

    I am very new to Flash CS4, however I was able to create a preloader with help from a Dan Carr tutorial.
    Here is my source:
    import fl.video.*;
    import fl.controls.ProgressBarMode;
    // Set Variables
    var flvControl = display;
    var flvSource = "op.flv";
    // Create event handler functions to control the progressbar
    function progressHandler(event:VideoProgressEvent):void
       var bl = Math.round(event.bytesLoaded/1000);
       var bt = Math.round(event.bytesTotal/1000);
       // Update progress...
       pb.setProgress(bl,bt);
    function readyHandler(event:VideoEvent):void
       // Remove progressbar when we start playing...
       removeChild(pb);
    // Set progress bar state
    pb.mode = ProgressBarMode.MANUAL;
    pb.indeterminate = false;
    // Add listeners and load the video
    flvControl.addEventListener(VideoProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressHandler);
    flvControl.addEventListener(VideoEvent.READY, readyHandler);
    flvControl.source = flvSource;
    Here is an example of the video:
    http://orthopreferred.us/test/ortho/op1.html
    The movie loads and plays but the preloader only loads part of the way. How would I go about having the preloader progress bar load all the way then have the movie start?
    Thanks!

    I have tried your code change and the progress bar still does not completely load. It goes just a bit the the video appears.
    I edited the fla to this (see bold):
    import fl.video.*;
    import fl.controls.ProgressBarMode;
    // Set Variables
    var flvControl = display;
    var flvSource = "op.flv";
    // Create event handler functions to control the progressbar
    function progressHandler(event:VideoProgressEvent):void
       var bl = Math.round(event.bytesLoaded/1000);
       var bt = Math.round(event.bytesTotal/1000);
       // Update progress...
       pb.setProgress(bl,bt);
    function readyHandler(event:VideoEvent):void
       // Remove progressbar when we start playing...
       removeChild(pb);
    // Set progress bar state
    pb.mode = ProgressBarMode.MANUAL;
    pb.indeterminate = false;
    // Add listeners and load the video
    flvControl.autoPlay=false;
    flvControl.addEventListener(VideoProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressHandler);
    flvControl.addEventListener(VideoEvent.READY, readyHandler);
    flvControl.source = flvSource;
    flvControl.play();
    //end
    Progress bar barely moves then the movie appears and plays.

  • Audio plays but the video does not

    I'm using the latest FCP and I've imported .Mov files which I've run through compressor so they all have H.264 at the end, however when I play them, the video stays still; only when I pause it does it jump ahead. The audio runs fine.
    Am I supposed to run this through Compressor again (ie. I did it wrong)? Or is it just a settings thing?

    I have a Flip and that takes video in .MP4; when I brought that into FCP it had a similar scenario play out so I assumed that I was supposed to have it as .MOV so I went to compressor to do that. I don't use Compressor often (read: ever) and I selected the one thing that said quicktime which also said H.264.
    Sorry, Tom, I really don't know the ins and outs of this stuff.

  • Audio Playing before the lips are moving on iMovie

    I just finished making a movie on iMovie HD 6 and as I was watching it, I noticed that around 9 min. through the 15 min. long movie, the voices of the actors are coming before their lips are moving. This doesn't happen when I watch the clip individually, it only happens when I start watching the movie from at least 1 min. before the clip that has the problem. I don't know why it's doing this...would compressing it into a Quicktime video help???? Please help!! Thanks soo much!

    This often occurs if you have imported the audio as 12 bit/sec instead o 16 bit/sec. You set this on your camera.
