Audio Fade Handles Missing!

I cannot perform any audio fades as there are no fade handles.
Which settings do I have to change to make the audio fade handles appear?
Thanks!

I just talked to Applecare.
It looks like the frame size of my time line was too small. I increased the size of my the frames and then I could access the fade handle.
I actually expected the fade handles to appear on top of the audio tracks.
But they actually were at about the middle of the track. And they were not gray, but green. That added to the confusion.
But I could fade the tracks now, and, gladly, nothing was wrong with the software.

  • Audio fade handles in Motion

    Hello,
Does Motion 5 have a visual editor for audio with fade handles?
I'm aware of the Audio fade behaviour and options under it, however this seems to be very blunt; the main fade control is just a number value (is this frames, seconds or a percentage?) and there doesn't seem to be a way to make a custom ramp of audio by hand. In the Keyframe Editor, I don't see a way to edit audio ramps, only simply a waveform overlay.
I hve no experience with previous versions of Motion. Did there used to be mroe control? Are we expecting more refinement in this area with the next release?
    Thanks

The audio fade in/fade out behavior works in the same way as with video. Click on the audio tab in the project pane and select your audio. Apply the fade behavior. In the inspector click on the behavior tab and you will see the controls. They are calibrated in frames. You will also see the controls and a graph in the Hud. Go to the timeline editor and open the keyframe editor and you will see the level curve. Double clicking on it will add keyframes and you can keyframe the levels as you like. If you don't want to use the behavior just open the keyframe editor after selecting the audio in the timeline editor or the project pane. Then as above, keyframe the levels as you like.

  • Longer than 5s audio fades

Is it possible to make an audio track (for instance, the background music imported from itunes) fade in or out very slowly, say over a period of 10 or 20 seconds? I find that a 5 second fade out is sometimes a bit abrupt.
On most other video editing suites I have used, I could manually adjust the audio levels on the timeline, usually by dragging the line down. This seems not to be possible in imovie 09. This is a major weakness, in my view.

set the first to manually fade from 100& to 80%, the next fro 80% to 60%, etc.
Not quite sure what you mean here AppleMan. The audio fade feature only allows adjustments in seconds, not by percentage, with a maximum fade of 5 seconds. You may be thinking of the Ducking feature which allows lowering of other tracks by percent, but this will apply the ducking to the whole portion - not progressively as in "fade out" or "fade in".
Or am I missing something here?

  • Audio fade with fade in fade out effect

i want to make the audio fade along with the end of a clip when i use the fade in fade out transition i tried the audio cross fade but no luck could someone please help me out

Let me add to Tom and Al suggestion: if you want cross fade (not only fade in and out) your clips must have handles. In other words you should set up an Out point (in the left clip) and an In point (in the right clip): these must leave enough media in each clip to let cross fade to work; that's needed for either video or audio.

  • Audio fade not working in compound clip

How are you doing? When I have a compound clip of multiple audio files, the fade handle doesn't seem to be affecting the audio like it did before the update.
    Below is an example...

actually, that audio compound clip is not inside the compound clip. What you are seeing is multiple audio files compounded together. When I do this, the fade does not work. I can automate the level line, but the fade handles are ineffective.

  • Dolby Advanced Audio Interface software missing HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003sa

I updated my HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-boo3sa to windows 8.1 a couple months ago and since then the dolby advanced audio interface software is missing. The speakers are working and sound fine but I just want the option of the equaliser again. I have looked at the drivers available online and the most upto date driver for audio for this laptop is an IDT audio driver from 2012 for windows 8. Is there a more upto date driver that has the interface software? or is it just a case that the software has been removed on the update due to compatability issues? It sounds like dolby advanced audio is still active there is just no interface available as before I updated to windows 8.1. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi Lhawley91,
I understand you are having issues with the Dolby Advanced Audio Interface software missing HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003sa. This package contains the driver that enables the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio for Windows 8.1.

  • New Media Encoder Error: video and/or audio filters are missing...

My colleague reported this error popup window while using Adobe Media Encoder CC (up-to-date):
"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"
I've been seeing similar errors the past few days. I can't remember if the wording was the same in the errors I saw, but the circumstances were the same.
I've never seen this popup error before the most recent CC update.
    Some background info:
I queued up multiple Premiere Pro pproj files as usual from within Premiere
without rebooting or deleting any cache or temp files or anything, I start the queue
I have no special plugins installed in Premiere. Vanilla CC install.
    Windows 7, 64-bit
This error doesn't tell me what audio/video filter(s) are missing. The output files, once I dismiss this warning, are perfect.
The major problem: It stops the queue dead in it's tracks. Sure, it might seem handy to stop and give you a warning, but when it's a false report and there's nothing wrong, it's killing us, because we queue up multiple files for encoding overnight, and we're not here to get the popups.
What is likely causing this? Is it a bug that this is appearing so frequently? Has anyone else experienced this besides my colleague and I?
    Thanks!

Update for anyone experiencing this issue:
We are still investigating the cause of the issue and would really like your help tracking it down. If you run in to it I would be happy to jump on the phone with you and preferably do a screenshare as well. If you want to run some tests for me, this is what may help us track it down:
    0. Please make sure you are updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and AME, which at this time are Premiere Pro 7.2.1 and AME 7.2.
    1. Simplify the project. Create a copy of the project and eliminate anything in the project that isn't related to the sequence(s) you are exporting. Then run the encode again. If it still occurs, move to the next step. If it doesn't occur any more, repeat step one and only remove half of the unused items (sorry, this is giong to be a manual process). Rinse, repeat.
    2. Open your sequence in Premiere and press Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all clips in your sequence. Right click and select Remove All Effects. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. If it still repros, go to step 4.
    3. Make all the media offline. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. Repro? Go to step 5.
    4. Send me a message with as much detail as possible. Even better would be if you could provide me a copy of your project file.
Your help in tracking this issue down is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • My audio book is missing chapters what do I do

My audio book is missing chapters what do I do?

Go to Itune, log into your account, go to Purchase History, it will show all of your purchase. Write down purchase order# numbers for those books.  Email to the Itune costomer service with those order numbers and ask them to restore those purchase back to your account.   They promtly replied by my emai.  It was relatively easy and worth it.

  • Quick Look Audio Fade-in

    Hello,
i am that complete lagger who used 10.6.8 for few years for working with audio and music production. Somehow i decided to upgrade to new osx for new logic and some user features, but there is one little thing that still keeps me off new os x.
Back in 10.6 when you quick look an audio file it plays just "as is"- without any fade ins and fade outs. If sound starts instantly inside audio file- it will play instantly. This helps me a lot while making music- i just use Finder quickly to find right sound and drag and drop it into Logic. This is my typical workflow- press space and use up and down buttons to find right sample.
In Lion, ML and now in Mavericks that feature was changed. When you quick look audio file it will play it normally the first time, but when you play it second time (you didnt hear if this fiel sound right and you replay it) it cuts the very first part of the sound- it creates very fast fade in which affects the sound. It looses first click (wich may be very important). Sometimes i cant really hear if sound starts instantly or with fade within sample.
This is probably more a feature than bug, but this still doesent helps me at all.
The question is how to disable that quick look audio fade in? I really dont need it and dont want it.
I tried to replace 10.9 quick look audio plugin with same file from 10.6, but that didnt worked.
    Regards,
    Anton Demkin

If this is the case Then there must be some switch somewhere in the bowels of the project data that can be thrown. Once again i am appalled at how little information is available to power users and apple should be ashamed of it self. THese damned programs do not work as advertised when pushed and they display anomalies that keep the forums full but nothing else. I had this problem and had to export the whole movie as is and then reimport it in order to over come the INVERSE DUCKING feature so prominently in fashion these days. I will be trying now to see how this works ... again.
PS none of my issues with inverse ducking matched what you did to solve yours -- My project had been completed and now someone wanted tweaks so when i went in to make the tweaks- that is what i found . Sort of like magical apperance of unnamed temporary files amongst other things.

  • I don't want 'Automatic audio fade' for each clip

hmm, well, I like it but some member at my German board noticed, that any new clip has its (short) audio-fade-in.
You can set to 'Manual/0 sec' ... but for each clip, not as a 'preset' for all.
any expert any idea, which internal plist to edit to set that 'fix' to a 0-sec-fade?
    haven't found any ...

that PASTE ADJUSTMENTS is one of the most under-estimated features of iM09 .. !
    EXCELLENT advice, S.!

  • Audio files are missing in iMovie HD 6

I have 10.5 installed and was using iMovie 08. I was having problems exporting a movie, some of the clips were all black. So I downloaded iMovie 06 and all the iLife audio files are missing.
They're still there in '08 but not '06. How do I get them in? Is there a way to import them?

I have never used Screenium nor do I know anything about it, but iMovie 6 prefers footage in .dv format. You may have more success if you use Streamclip to convert the .mov to .dv before importing it into iMovie 6

  • Audio fade in

when I add audio it keeps putting about 30 secs. of silence at the beginning of the song. I have loaded different songs and opened new movies. How to I remove the fade in

    Hi lisacillustrate,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are having issues with the trim or fade in on audio clips in iMovie, you may find some of the information in the following articles helpful:
iMovie '11: Set the beginning and end of a sound or music clip
iMovie '11: Adjust the rate of audio fade-in and fade-out
    iMovie (2013): Adjust volume

  • Where is audio fade in new iMovie 10.0.1?

Just got my new iMac loaded with the new iMovie and am feeling my way through it (wish they had better tutorials). One thing i am unable to find is the manual audio fade in and fade out controls that were obvious with iMovie '09. I really hope they didn't do away with those for some reason--it's a key tool for managing audio in video clips and music. Thanks for any info.

I have a movie made up of 10 discrete clips right now. I was able to find a tiny dot to adjust the fade in on only two of the clips. No dots at the end of any of the clips to drag to make an audio fade out. I blew up the size of the clips as big as possible and hovered over the audio portion of each one, but no sign of a tiny dot any place except those two clips. (All the clips are from the same speech so I don't think it's the source.) Any ideas about finding those fade in/fade out dots? (Have to say the old way was easier--less squinting.) Thanks.

It seems that there is something wrong with the docking connector. Because of in Itunes the fader is missing and  the tekst docking connector appears inplace of the fader.
The next day the ipad is working correctly until i put the connector into the ipad to charge it. Then again there is the same problem when i put the connector out of the Ipad the fader is disappering and the sound from the speakers dos not work. When i put an earplug into the ipad the volumefader appears until i put the connector out. Can someone help me?

  • Audio fades in compound clip

I have an edited compund clip that someone created and every time I play it, there are audio fades in between the cuts that shouldn't be there and the person who edited it claims they never added them.  When I go and fix them all, next time I open final cut and play that clip, the fades are added back in.  Why is this happening?  Basicall in between the cuts audio drops at the end of the first cut and then goes up on the beginning of the next clip in the cut.  It's like FCX is doing this automatically, but I can't get rid of it for good.  Any ideas?
    Thank you

That's odd. When you change the compound should update. Bring the compound clip into the project. Double click the clip to open its component clips. Make any change that's easily reversed – say, disable a clip (V). Close the project. Create a new empty project. Bring the compound to the new project. The disabled clip should not be visible.
