Audio falls out of Sync after a few hours

Here's my problem... After weeks of trying to get FME and FMS
to work correctly, I finally got everything talking to each other
once I installed FMS on a different server than FME and Apache, it
now works great.
What I doing is capturing our stations live feed from an ATI
PCIE TV-Tuner, Encoding it with FME which is feeding it to a
Windows 2003 Enterprise Server running FMS Ineteractive, then feed
to an Apache server on the same machine the FME is running from.
After 2-3 hours of encoding it falls out of sync, the longer
it encodes the more if falls out of sync. How can I resolve this
problem?
And one last thing... I'm using a modified version of the "
LIVE" example application.
The Encoding Machines Specs are:
Windows Vista Enterprise
AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core
8 gigs Memory
The FMS Specs are
Pentium HT 3.8ghz
6 gigs memory,
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise

Which version of FME are you using? is it the latest version
(2.5) ?

  • Audio falling out of Sync after importing into PP

    Hello there,
I'm relatively new to this, so please when you're helping me, dummy it down as much as you possibly can.
I've been using Xsplit to record games while I play. I recorded a ~2 hour video and toward the beginning of the video  it seems to be pretty a-okay but later in the video when I play it in premier pro, the audio starts falling out of sync.
I have no idea why it does this or what to do. When I play the original raw video the audio and video are both on time.
After googling this issue for about 40 minutes (and i'm not 100% sure what this means but I have a general idea) I read somewhere that the reason why the audio was out of sync was because xsplit uses a "variable framerate".
Not sure if this is true or not, but regardless, I tried exporting numerous times and the audio STILL falls out of whack.
I looked on xsplit and there was a setting that i could enable to force constant frame rate.... is this a solution to that problem?
    Please, help me.
    Thank you.

If your current video file DOES use a Variable Frame Rate, it will not edit properly in any version of Premiere
Force your software to create a Constant Frame Rate file and try again
Go to http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere and, in the area just under Ask a Question, type in
    variable frame rate
    or

  • Audio falls out of sync with FCP sequence after export from STP

    Hey all,
editing sound on a short film. sent FCP sequence to sweeten the dialog and add effects, according to the timeline it is the same length as sequence length in
FCP, but when exporting from STP to FCP to complete movie, the sound ends up being about 10 frames longer than the video and starts in sync and falls out of sync over the duration of the film.
Have tried changing preference settings in STP, exported about 5 ways to breakfast and all have same result.
Anyone have a solution to this problem?
    Much thanks,
    Holly

I just experienced this same thing, and as Christof says, it had to do with 'Easy Setup' and 'all formats'. I've been editing a picture shot on RED in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) at 2K (2048 x 1152) and 24fps...FCS 3 (FCP 7 latest version). Whenever you trash preferences or start up FCP new, you get the 'easy setup' menu. Previously, I could just hit 'okay' and go ahead into FCP and change the settings/resolutions within the project...even if the 'easy setup' default was, say, DV/NTSC 29.97. Also, when opening up an active project after trashing prefs, the project itself would still have the same editing/playback settings/resolutions, even if the 'easy setup' window had its default DV/NTSC setting. Plus, if you create a new timeline and its default is one format, once you drop a different format into it, it asks you if it should adjust to that format anyway, and of course, you say yes and everything is fine.
Well....in this most recent FCP update, whenever I'd export an AIFF from the timeline and reimport....or if I'd just import an AIFF...it would do something to the playback rate of that newly imported/reimported sound file and suddenly its sync has drifted all over the place within just a minute or so. But strangely, it wouldn't do it to audio that's attached to picture (.mov/MP4/etc.)....only isolated audio files (AIFF/WAV). So naturally, I wondered if something was going on during the export process or the like.
The solution is to make sure that when you open FCP (newly, or after trashing prefs), make sure you pick the settings/format/framerate in that 'Easy Setup' window that matches what you intend to edit as closely as possible. In my case, the format is Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), 2048 x 1152 @ 24fps, and I use a Blackmagic Multibridge so I have settings for it. Hence......*Format; HD, Frame Rate: 24, Use: Blackmagic HDTV 1080P 24 - 10 bit.* Whereas the default upon startup is....Format: (all formats), Frame Rate: 29.97, Use: DV/NTSC 48KHz.
You can also set these in the 'Audio Video Settings' menu. Now, whenever I export and reimport an AIFF, or just import an AIFF (like the soundmix prepared by our sound designer), sync stays and there's no drift. So make sure you've picked the right settings when starting or reopening a project, again as Christof pointed out.

  • Video and audio fall out of sync in Captivate 6

I made a great little video demo in which I added audio while I recorded it in Captivate 6. However when I play it back the audio and video fall out of sync. How can I fix my problem and how can I prevent it from happening again?
    JJ

Douglas, I found that even the SWF files have started to get out of synch as well (although not as badly as the MP4), so with Adobe's blessing, I installed Captivate 7 on my 2009 model MacBook Pro (with Windows 7 running in Bootcamp) and now when I publish both SWF and MP4 projects, they are in perfect synch.
The strange thing is that my MacBook Pro probably has less grunt than my work PC (Dell Lattitude) and I would also have thought that running in a Bootcamp based Windows 7, that would detract even further from Captivate's performance.
I am happy that this solves the synch issue, I am not happy that I must continually move projects between my office PC and my home based MacBook Pro in order to do this and I am still none the wiser as to what is actually causing the problem; although I do wonder whether it is in some way related to the reporting to base issue that was causing Captivate 7 to go into a not responding state every few minutes (that was resolved with a patch provided by Adobe support)..

  • Audio falling out of sync during playback of videos

I now have Windows 8 on a brand new laptop, and new TV dls fall out of sync between audio and video within minutes.  Skipping to the beginning and dragging back to my last place in the timeline corrects this for a minute or so, and then falls out of sync again.
Also, other new purchases skip/pause every few minutes.  I tested previous dls (that are still in the cloud) and had no playback problems.  I don't want to delete everything and redownload until I know for sure that is the solution.

  • Final cut pro - editing music video audio falls out of sync

filmed with canon 7D- i play the music in the background for th artist to perform. upon loading up the footage into final cut, i sync the start of the video audio with the record, as they both play it falls out of sync. i did not have this problem when i edited with premiere. any ideas

Sync issues are *usually* going to be mismatched sample rates, for instance, you imported 44.1kHz audio into a 48kHz project.
This happened to me awhile back, and unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what I did to fix it. But what I *think* I did was click on the imported audio and went to the Retime menu and selected Conform Speed. If that doesn't work, right click on the audio in the event browser and select Transcode (if there's an option to do so in the dialog).
It is also possible to manually resync audio by Retiming it. Turn on snapping (N), select the clip, type Command-R and drag the audio clip's retiming handle until the end of the audio snaps with the end of the video clip (this is actually amazingly accurate.) [If your recorded audio is not the same length of the audio on the video, then set markers on the video and audio tracks and retime until the markers snap.] You should do this before any other edits.

  • Captivate 6 editing - on timeline, audio is out of sync after pausing

I am trying to create a software demo for my company. I am using the HD video and then have imported audio recordings over the video.
The big work portion of this project is adding call-out smart shapes on the video during certain portions to highlight what the voiceover is discussing. However, when I pause the timeline so I can add a smart shape, upon resuming from the pause, the audio is out of sync. This happens even if I hit Stop on the timeline, and use my mouse to move the playhead.
This is adding significant amounts of time to my video editing process, to the point where I am missing deadlines for having the videos created. The only solution I have found to guarantee that the call-out smart shapes are in sync with the audio instructions is to Play the timeline from the very beginning, each time after pausing the audio.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues, or know of a way to fix it? This is adding enough time to the editing process that our company is looking into other video editing softwares to replace Captivate.

I always copy the entire PRIVATE folder from camera to hard drive, and then importing from that hard drive folder in to project.
I am saing original, becouse I do not convert them to diferent format. And how could be the original files of video and  audio out of sync???
I am using Premiere for 10 years, I am not new to this software, but never had this problem.

  • My audio goes out of sync after import

I have a bunch of masters of 1h documentaries that I've done using Adobe Premiere CS6. I've exported the masters using exactly the same specs:
    Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ), 23.98fps, 1920x1080p, 48kHz, 16b, PCM audio.
I have to do some changes on the masters of these shows. They all play fine on several players like VLC, Quicktime, Mpeg Streamclip, etc. However after I import the masters into Premiere Pro CC, 3 out of 10 shows get the audio gradually out of sync, even on the source monitor before I put them on a timeline. The behaviour continues even after I place them on a timeline.
The project settings are the same as the masters and so are the sequence settings. I've tried to recreate the project, delete and re-import, duplicate the file and import that, and no matter what I do the same 3 masters go out of sync after the import.
I've tried to find a solution in many forums and despite noticing that several people have the same issue, no one has a valid solution for my problem.
I cannot go back to CS6 since my company updated their systems to CS7 so I can't even cross check.
Any suggestion will be most welcome.
    Thanks in advance peeps.
    NJ

    Couple of suggestions.
First, rather than opening the Master export, go back to the original project.  That should open fine in CC.
Second, with a CC subscription, you do have access to the full CS6 suite.

  • Audio is out of sync after capture.

I'm attempting an firewire capture from a DV source. When I'm logging clips and previewing them, the sound is fine, but when I view them after capture the audio is out of sync. I think I'm having timecode issues, is there any way around this?

I tried watching them in the timeline and viewer, all out of sync. No external monitor. I did get a message once about dropped frames and something else, it said I might have these issues, but it didn't tell me to change settings, just told me it was gonna happen, lol. So, I don't know where to start to fix it.

  • Audio Drifts Out of Sync After Demux

    Hi,
I demuxed an hour-long program from DVD to .m2v and .ac3 using MPEG Streamclip. The audio drifts out of sync very gradually, and by the end is way off.
I don't want to re-compress the audio, as it is already AC3. According to Quicktime, the video is 29.97 fps, and the audio is 16-bit 48 khz.
When I used to Export to DV option, everything stayed in sync. I can't go this route, however, since I can't afford to re-compress anything (I'm making a new DVD from this old one). Just an FYI that this worked.
Ever run into this problem before?

I am using version 1.9. In the preferences pane, I don't have anything checked.
To reiterate, all I'm trying to is demux the DVD as-is and bring those assets into DVD Studio Pro for an updated project. Not using FCP anywhere in this workflow.
Looks like I left out an important piece of info, though...When I demux the audio stream to AC3 (its original format), and try to import it into DVD Studio Pro, I get the error message: "Variable bit rate audio assets cannot be imported." I am not sure how the client originally encoded their audio, but the fact that it stays in sync on the DVD led me to believe they didn't do anything wrong. Could this VBR be throwing the audio off during the demux? The only instances where I've noticed it's out of sync are when I export to an uncompressed format like AIFF or WAV, and can actually view it.

  • HELP!  Audio goes out of sync after export!

OK, folks. I need your help. I have a looming deadline of THIS FRIDAY to hand this in.
I have a finished multicam edit of a show that runs 1 hr 20 min. It plays back perfectly in the timeline, all video and audio perfectly in sync. Looks and sounds exactly like what I need.
When I export the video as an H.264 file, the audio gets out of sync with the video by 13 frames! But that's not all... It doesn't happen to the entire audio track. There's about 50 minutes in the middle of the video where the audio goes out of sync. The audio at the beginning and ending of the video is lined up perfectly in sync. It's just the middle section that gets screwy.
    What do I do?!
This has never happened before, and I've worked a lot with multicam in Premiere Pro CC before this. Never been an issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere, and also deleting all media cache files, but still no dice.  I also tried copying the clips into a new sequence in the same project, copying the clips into a new sequence in a NEW project, nesting the sequence... nothing works.
    My setup:
    MacBook Pro Retina (Rev. A)
    Premiere Pro CC (latest version)
Panasonic GH3 footage in 1080p 24p AVCHD timeline
3 cameras & 1 audio WAV file in Multicam
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK, I figured out how to fix it:
In Premiere Pro CC, click on SEQUENCE > DELETE RENDER FILES.
    Try exporting the movie again.
It worked! I exported the same sequence, and it took a long while to re-render the audio files, but when it was finished exporting the audio and video were in perfect sync. I'm not sure what caused it, but this fixed it, so hopefully anyone else having this issue can save a lot of time by reading this.
    Cheers!

  • Audio goes out-of-sync after adding photos to video

iMovie HD 5.0.2 here. I have one main 10-minute video clip and am trying to splice the video to include a few photos, which maintaining that video's audio track throughout.
After importing the video, I extracted the audio. But when I dropped in a photo, any video AFTER that photo is now out-of-sync with the audio track. (I'm not really fiddling with the visual timeline; I just split the video clip at playhead, insert photo, and any video after the photo winds up out of sync.)
Is this a problem with the dated software? Is there a workaround? If I should upgrade, what should I upgrade to? I really love the simple video and audio timeline of iMovie HD; it's perfect for my needs and I don't want to lose it...

    OK
I'm a soft head. Now I understands what You want to do.
OK there is a smart way to exchange video for a photo but keeping the audio. BUT
I use a much more raw way of doing this.
I import my photo. Set a duration for it eg. 4 sec => 00:00:04:00 exactly
then I select the video clip
Extract sound - so that I don't affect this when doing the brain surgery
Cut in the video part away exactly 00:00:04:00
Select the photo clip - drop this before the un-needed video clip
Select the un-needed video clip and delete this.
Now I've replaced a pice of the video with a photo but the sound flows as it
    was un-tuched.
I always work this way - think it has to do with super-8 film editings during
    the stone-ages.
There is a function in iMovie that does this - replace action but I've never used it.
    Yours Bengt W

  • DVCPro50 Captured as DV50 audio falling out of sync

    Hi All,
I am working on a rush project right now and have a curious problem.
    I have a 2 1:30 shows, with 4 cams each.
I have captured all the footage using the DV50 codec over firewire, and some is beautiful and fine. About 1 out of every 4 tapes, the audio falls terribly out of sync with the video.
It was shot in DVCPro50, 30P. I've changed my sequence settings to match, and the issue still occurs.
Any ideas, answers or suggestions? Any and all help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

I do have those features enabled. Thanks though! The only things I think it could be are either, a.) the cameras were in time sync, so perhaps it is an error in the time code there, or b.) since they were in shooting 30P, I am not using the proper pulldown cadence. Any suggestions?

  • Audio Video out of sync after Capture

I've read thru the Discussions posted but can't seem to find the exact same problem....
This has happened in both FCP5 and FCP6..
Last nite I captured wedding video into FCP6 from 2 identical cams with identical settings..The 1st Capture (18:00) went OK but the 2nd Capture of the same duration showed a window and transport bar. It stated something to the extent "analyzing audio". It's done this in the past and every time it occurs the audio is exactly 30frames off. The video precedes the audio by 1 second. It's easy to re-sync the two but annoying when it happens.
I'm capturing both videos into the same document so no settings change and the problem is not specific to just one camera. It has happened on both cams. I'm using the same tape deck to capture both videos and the same mini-DV tape brand.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    Thanks

To nomadesign: I've not tried that. I use the tape deck to reduce wear on the heads of the camera. If I knew which clips would have this prob then I could use the cam which originally shot the vid. I guess I could go back and re-capture the footage which slipped out of sync using the cam which shot it just for a test.
To 2reverb: the video was captured at 48khz. When I first got the cams they were default set to (is it 34 or 36khz) and i discovered the prob very rapidly so I corrected the cams right then.
    Thanks to both of you!!!!

Hey Guys, am using a Mac mini to stream to my shoutcast server using ncecast, I've notice that after like a few hours if i leave the computer to idle(i have remove all settings to sleep) the audio would stop playing and the encoder still encodes but until i moves the mouse the music would start playing again. how can i fix this? or can i set up a schedule program to
