Audio feedback, continuous ringing tone.

elitebook 8650. have audio feedback. Only way to stop it now is to put a plug in the headphone jack. Otherwise is contuinuous.

I just uninstalled the IDT audio and stopped the feedback. Should I reinstall? Do I need IDT audio?

Ring tone continues to play after missed call

Hi,
When i got a missed call, the ring tone continues to play after missed call. tried to change the ring tone from song to default ring tone available in the os but the problem remains the same.
I had the latest 10.2.0.249 OS

I recommend installing the official version 10.1.0.4181
By now also tell them that these errors will be fixed in the next official update to OS 10.2 is expected to be available soon.
My thinking about the end of October.

How can I create a new ring tone for my iPhone 4?

How can I create a new ring tone for my iPhone 4? I followed the Garage Band process and ended up with the ring tone I want as a AAC audio file. It got stored in my iTunes a a song rather than a ring tone. How do I make it a ring tone vs. a song? I tried dragging it t the Ring Tone category at the bottom of the ITunes list, but it won't alloow me to move it?

There's also an easy to use Applescript over at Doug's Applescripts for iTunes. It automates the whole thing. All you do is set the start and stop time on a file in iTuens and run the script. It will do everything else.

I can no longer sync music, books and ring tones

I recently updated my iTunes, and something has changed. I can sync music and audio books - but it erases my ring tones. I noticed this, and attempted to sync my ring tones -- only to lose all of my music and audio books. I have the "manually manage music and videos" box checked (though the check keeps disappearing). This is so frustrating! Anyone know what's going on?

To use a custom ringtone for text messages, follow the steps below:
Create a folder on the microSD card and name it "notifications" - small caps. Use an SD card reader or using your phone as a USB storage device to do this from your PC.
Copy any compatible audio file you want to set as a message notification to that folder.
Insert the SD card back into your phone or set your phone back to None to access your SD card (Either internal or external if available).
Go to messaging and press the menu key.

Tap Select ringtone. You should be able to locate your audio files there and set them.

Basic Ring Tones on iPhone are Very Poor

As a business professional I am very pleased to pull out my iPhone and show it to other business associates. However, I am extremly dissapointed in the childish assortment of ridiculous ring tone options that are offered on this phone. I understand that a ringtone program was just released yesterday allowing you to create ring tones from iTunes music files.
I don't want my phone playing songs as ring tones while I am trying to conduct a professional business meeting. When will Apple PLEASE allow us to have simple digital phone style ring tones for use on this very fine business tool. I will gladly pay for these ringtones but please remember not all of us want songs for ring tones!!!
Listen to the phones in your offices or check out the ring tone from the phones on the TV show 24. We just want a clean digital sound option for the iPhone.

Where did you download them from? Did you drag them from the Music folder to the Ringtones folder?
iOS devices use MPEG4 audio (AAC) for ringtones. Often these files end with .m4a, but the .m4r suffixe is generally used to denote a ringtone. iOS expects a ringtone to be less than 30 seconds in length and otherwise the only other restriction is that it's an AAC audio file.
You can make your own ringtones simply enough with any audio editing application on the Mac. Just create an MPEG4 audio stream, give it the suffice .m4r, and drag it into iTunes.

Video clip for a ring tone

Can anyone please tell me of a way to edit a small clip of either a movie or a music clip for a ring tone, so when my friend rings me it plays the clip rather than just the tone.

You cannot have/use a video ringtone. You can extract the audio track from a video clip with shareware, etc., and use iTunes to make that into a ringtone.

I am actually having the same issue. In Settings, lock sounds and keyboard clicks switches are set to "on" but that does not resolve it. iTunes, videos, and game audio (in addition to lock sounds and keyboard clicks) will not work through the speaker, but all work when headphones are plugged in. Ringtones and text tones function normally.

Ring tones visible, but only one selectable

I made some custom ringtones using the Ringtones app. These did not appear when selecting Sounds::Ringtone
or individual contacts, so I transferred them to itunes and then dropped them onto my iphone. (I tested them
on the mac: The icons say "RING" and are playable.) They appear in itunes under DEVICES::my iphone::Ringtones
(and of course in Ringtones app). So it looks like they are in the phone. ONE of them appears under Custom when
I select sounds, or ring tones for a contact.
Seems odd that they appear to be on the device, but only one shows up for selection.

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off and on, Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so, Restore.
i had it once before, restored the iPhone and it was solved, but i don't want to restore my iPhone every day.

If you have sound when using the earbuds, another thing to try is insert the earbuds and start playing a song - making sure the sound can be heard with the earbuds. Without pausing the song, remove the earbuds.
If no sound is available with the speaker and a the troubleshooting steps do not resolve it or one of the steps does resolve it but the same occurs again, time to give AppleCare a call (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Stop Playing Ring tone

I am playing a ring tone on a certain time to some phones, can the phone stop this ring tone if he needs.
i am using "play:myringtone.raw" in the execute object. so can i add a softkey on the ipphone so the ipphone user can stop this ringtone??

i have another question, if i need to stream this audio file not playing it as a ring tone, i tried to use the AvTransmit2.java class you sent before, and run this class on the streaming server, and on the phone i pushed the following:

so it can start receiving the stream but i received:

Why don't I get a ring tone or sound when I receive a call on face time?

On a Mac computer the Facetime ringtone is VERY weak, even with the volume turned up. If you have your audio level adjusted to a normal level you may not hear it. A number of people have complained about it on this Facetime for Mac forum. On my iPad the alert tones when receiving a FT call is much more robust.

Driod Pro (Saving Ring Tones I downloaded)

I"m trying to find where my ring tone I saved went. Does anyone know where it is? Also, I'm trying to find out where I can find to see if the delivery status for text messages is checked. Does anyone know where it is on the Driod Pro?

For ringtones saved you will probably want to go to applications > files > and then search through your file/folders for the saved content. Generally, it is listed all the way at the bottom or possibly in your downloads folder. Or, if you have a folder for music, it could be listed there. To get your saved ringtones into your actual "ringtone list" for your phone, you need to click menu, select multiple, select the ringtones you would like to use, then click move. Then go to the folder "Media" then "Audio" then "Notifications" and then click Move. Hope this helps!
