Audio file as hyperlink with QuickTime export

I am trying to export my presentation as QT .mov file in which the movie plays without the user having to manually advance each slide. Seems like it should be simple (it is in PP) but I’m stumped.
The presentation is simple slides with no builds or transitions.
On to each slide I dragged a small .aif file of me speaking for a few seconds.
What I want is a QT movie that advances to the next slide when the audio is completed.
What I am getting is a movie in which the user has to click at the end of each audio to advance to the next slide.
My setting under the document inspector is Presentation: normal
The four options under the QT export menu include Manual Advance (which I don’t want), Hyperlinks, Recorded Timing (does not work for a separate file on each slide), or Fixed Timing (but each audio differs in length).
I tried making each sound a hyperlink (link to next slide) but that does not work either. The resulting movie still does not advance at the end of the audio.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Alan

Many thanks QuickTimeKirk,
But think I need more step-by-step directions.
1. I have RealPlayer (9) already.
2. MIME settings in QuickTime Preference Pane. Set it to use RealPlayer for the Format .SMIL How?
3. In the QuickTime Preference Pane, there is a box for .SMIL, one box only, under "Miscellaneous." It IS unchecked already. But NPR still opens with QuickTime.
4. By "Change your Mac to use Real Player to open .SMIL files - ." I assume you mean, I will be on NPR, download a QT file and then try to change it to a RealPlayer file under "Get Info?"

  • In 10.4, an internet audio file now opens with Quicktime?

Many thanks in advance for your attention.
When I was using 10.3 (and before), when clicking on an audio file on the internet, RealPlayer 9 automatically opened.
One could see the % of the file being downloaded and then (quickly), one would automatically hear the audio clip.
Most often, I am talking about audio clips available on NPR (National Public Radio).
Since I have installed 10.4 (now at 10.4.3), when I click on the same audio file, now Quicktime opens instead. And then nothing happens. Quicktime opens, a Quicktime Player is seen, but I hear nothing and nothing tells me whether the audio file is being downloaded, is ready to be listened to, or anything.
With Quicktime 7, is RealPlayer now supposedly superfluous?

  • For ICD-BX132, How do I transfer an audio file to PC with high quality ?

when i transfer audio files from the recorder to pc .I find it transferd in poor quality. i need it in HQ quality.

If you are trying to play back MP3 files that have been transferred from the Integrated Chip (IC) recorder to the computer, if the audio skips, pauses or freezes during playback and if you are using third-party software, the software may not be compatible with the MP3 files. Try the following troubleshooting steps:
Try playing the MP3 audio files back on the IC recorder instead of the computer.
If the audio still skips, there may be an incorrect setting on the IC recorder. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online through the Manuals/Specs/Warrantylink on this page.
If the audio files play back with no issues on the IC recorder, then the IC recorder is not the problem and continue with the next troubleshooting step.
If you are using third-party software to play back the audio files, try using a different type, or brand, of third-party software that is compatible with MP3 files that are recorded in a universal format.
If the audio files play back with no issues using a different third-party software, then the problem was with your other third-party software.
If the problem persists once you have tried other third-party software, then the software is not the problem and continue with the next troubleshooting step.
Try using a different computer to play back the audio files.
If you complete all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required or you can get in touch with Sony Egypt Support here for further assistance.

  • Audio file missing from MOV when exported as a quicktime movie.

Using Keynote 9, I imported video into presentation that was edited in iMovie 9.  When I export the presentation to quicktime movie the audio is missing from the video file.  The audio file plays fine in the standard keynote presentation mode.

This is STRICTLY a work around!  Official fix will come from Apple as an update more than likely.
Duplicate item first (File > Duplicate). On newly duplicated project change file association type (File > get info). Under name and extension section take out .key). Close Get Info and save with removing .key.  Double click to open the file (now a compression).  Open uncompressed folder (same name as original file, now shows as a folder).  Now in the Data folder find a .mov file named "Recording" with randomly generated letters and numbers behind it.  Drag .mov file to desktop or any other directory. Open extracted .mov file with QuickTime to verify integrity. Save as audio file only.  Get Info on file again and place .key value at end of file/extension for project. Open project. Under Play menu option delete the recording.   Under Audio inspector drag the .mov of audio only to recording back in. Test play project to see if its accurate.  Export to QuickTime and see if issue is resolved.
    If issue persists:
Export with corrupted audio as QuickTime.  Separate the audio from video track.  Delete audio.  Import the extracted .mov audio file.  Share > File. Enjoy.

  • Export Audio File... with Effects?

i'm bouncing my parts for remixes... is it possible to have the insert effects on my tracks included in the export when i use the Export As Audio File function? or do i have to use the "solo track and then bounce" method (which takes about 50 x longer on a large project!) to have my plugins and automation included in the pass?
    thanks

The "only" automation data not included when using the export function is volume and pan (which I don't appreciate) if you have inserted your plugs on the track itself. Everything else is written into the file.

  • HTTP Streaming WAV audio no longer works with quicktime 7.7.3  OSX or 7.7.5 in windows

The latest revisions of quicktime (as plugin) no longer play our webservice's streamed audio files.  The audio is simply encoded wav all javascript hooks seem to work properly, but there is no resulting audio output. Reverting to previous revisions of quicktime on the same platforms restores the expected behavior.
The files are streamed over authenticated HTTPS connections and are encoded as "RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, ITU G.711 mu-law, stereo 8000 Hz".  If the file is downloaded to the local machine, the quicktime player application has no problems playing the audio.  Similarly, dropping a file: URL to the download into the web browser also plays correctly. The issue started with Quicktime 7.7.3 on OSX with Safari (Yosemite) and 7.7.5 on Windows (Chrome and Firefox). Mavericks and previous Windows quicktime plugins work correctly.  This is especially problematic for our Mac OS clients because we have not been able to identify a current working combination or a functional downgrade path other than to downgrade the OS to Mavericks.
Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Jon, I read.  But the links to websites are not playing on a Windows7 computer. Can you tell me why they are not?
I believe that with a new dawn comes new understanding of the problem.
I do not have access to a Windows 7 computer nor do I run Windows on my Mac.
I am not a web coding programmer. However...
Neither of the original poster's links (http://openmap.bbn.com/~mthome/quicktimeaudio.html and http://openmap.bbn.com/~mthome/wavtest.wav) work because they both point to the same HTML (quicktimeaudio.html) file.
The HTML file looks like this:
This file appears to look for the QT plug-in to see if QT is installed, if the version is v7.7.6, and whether or not the WAV extension is supported.
When I click on either link, this is what I see:
    Although I am running:
the browser display shown above indicates the HTML code thinks that QT is not installed rather than being the wrong version and then, instead of terminating the browser processing and displaying the correct error message, the HTML code falls through to a display of the audio media controller and automatically starts playback. Unfortunately, since confirmation of WAV playback support was skipped (or for some other reason), the QT plug-in does not access the required codec (or fails to send the data to the handler) and no audio is heard when playing the WAV audio file. In short, even though I am not a web programmer, I believe the main issue here is the coding of the HTML file.
When I "re-containered" the original poster's WAV file and posted it on my own server, I created a URL link that actually pointed to the WAV resource and not to the HTML file code as did the OP's secondary link. Thus, when I accessed the audio file, I did so directly via the plug-in, by-passing the HTML file code issue and allowing the file data to play correctly in Safari under both Yosemite and IOS 8.
Believe the HTML file needs to be re-coded to fix the problem. I can now play the original 8-bit µ-law encoded WAV file in players and Safari but believe the OP here should consider a more modern compression format/file container combination that would allow him to abandon use of the QT player plug-in to maintain compatibility with "plug-in free" browsers. For instance, would HTML5 coding be able to play AAC encoded content in MOV, MP4, M4V, and/or M4A file containers? Once again, questions like this are beyond my expertise and need to be answered by someone proficient in this area.

  • FCP5 - Problems with Quicktime Export Settings

Hello -- I'm experiencing trouble when I export a Quicktime file from my FCP5 to burn to a DVD. The DVD, which I burn using iDVD, plays on my computer buut not in my DVD player -- the DVD player doesn't recognize it as a playble DVD.
I've tested everything -- Regular commercial DVDs work fine in my DVD player, so it's not the DVD player that's broken. I haven't changed anything to do with iDVD. And finally, DVDs of the two types I'm using (Maxwell and TDK brands) once both worked fine in my DVD player when I exported from FCP and burned using iDVD, so it's not the blank DVDs that seem to be at fault.
The problem seems to have occurred when a friend asked me to change the FCP Quicktime export settings to export a Quicktime file for streaming on the web and also for exporting a motion mpeg file (I'm not even sure what you do with one of those).
Although I now choose "current settings" when I go to export, because I thought this would give me the old, preset standard settings that worked just fine in the past, I believe the FCP export settings must have gotten messed up, because nothing else has changed with my process, and yet now, the DVDs don't work in the DVD player.
I am inexperienced/beginner level with the FCP program and don't know how to get back to the correct settings, and hope someone could be kind enough to help me. Especially since the help manual hasn't shed much light on this.
Many thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

  • Audio files not embedding with .avi files in CS4

I am working on a project in Premiere Pro CS4. I successfully captured with firewire a number of clips and the audio embedded with the clip ( one .avi file shows up in explorer under the project. When I went back into the project, first, there was no audio captured at all and I did'nt notice until I had captured half of the clips (45 minutes). I don't know what happened there. Now, the audio is attached to the .avi file, but is not embedded like the previous captured files.   Example First capture: File Name : Harlem 01.avi  audio is embedded   2nd Capture  Guilford 01.avi  and Guilford 01. Stereo 1.wav
Why aren't the .avi files and the audio files embedded and combined as one file anymore?
    Thanks for any help.

    >Matrox card
The comment I have often seen is to the effect that "a Matrox card makes a good door stop"
For a Firewire transfer you don't need any "card" at all, only a Firewire port... usually on the motherboard
That said... and you mentioning switching back and forth between different Matrox modes... I would guess that, yes, you selected a wrong option
But, since I don't use Matrox, I have no idea what setting could be wrong (I do use a Pinnacle Dv500 via dual boot with WinXP to digitize some old VHS tapes before they stop playing... but once I had settings that worked to create AVI files that ARE Audio Video Interleave with everything in one file, I have never changed any of the Dv500 settings)

  • How do I revert to replaced audio files being saved with the project file, *not* with the original audio files?

In the latest release, when you send an audio clip to Audition, the newly created audio clip - which was previously saved in the same folder as the project file - is saved next to the original audio file.
Makes sense, but for reasons to boring to go into, it's a major headache for my workflow, because it means combing through folders to find the files, instead of having them all in once place.
So how to I turn this off and revert to those files being saved next to the project file?

    Hey Steve,
You'll want to connect your phone to your computer and sync it in iTunes. You can read more about it here:

  • How do you burn a video file not compatible with quicktime?

    Hello all,
I am very new at this so I apologize if the solution is very simple - i just can't seem to work this iDVD thing...
I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find exactly what I need, please point me in the right direction if a solution has already been posted elsewhere.
Okay, so my problem is trying to burn movies to DVD. I don't actually have to use iDVD, but it's the only solution i've come up with. My problem is when I add a movie file (lets say, something that will ONLY OPEN with VLC), and press preview, no movie files show up... but when i put in a video file that will play with quicktime, the preview works fine.
So i suspect the preview wont play because the file is not compatible with quicktime.
have any of you tried this? All i want is to be able to play a downloaded movie on the dvd player downstairs
    regards,
    Peter

iDvd is not a general burn utility. However, there's a very good chance (whatever that file is) that Toast will burn it to Dvd-R. And if not (which is unlikely) then do as suggested already and use Mpegstream Clip. It's 100% free! However Mpeg 2 playback component may run you a few bucks (if needed).
Or the alternative is to invest hundreds of dollars in Apple software and use apps like FCP and DVDSP (or FCS) along with QT Pro. Nine times out of ten this combination tends to work well ... but it ain't cheap (not to mention a rather steep learning curve).

  • Streaming .mov files through shockwave with Quicktime 7

I'm running a site (www.soundjunction.org) that streams quicktime audio and video files embedded in a shockwave player. This worked fine with QT 6.5.2 but with the upgrades to QT7.0.x, it now sticks on the 'buffering' stage forever and never loads in the movie. The same issue occurs with OSX tiger. In certain cases, loading the page with the shockwave player (embedding QT) closes the browser window without prompt. In summary, the problem occurs with
Win XP, IE 6, Shockwave 10, QT 7 public preview
Win XP, IE 6, Shockwave 10, QT 7.0.4 (latest)
Mac OSX Tiger, Safari, Shockwave 10, QT 7.0.1
Mac OSX Tiger, Safari, Shockwave 10, QT 7.0.4 (latest)
    but not with
Mac OSX Tiger, Safari, Shockwave 10, QT 7.0.2
Mac OSX Tiger, Safari, Shockwave 10, QT 7.0.3
Win XP, IE 6, Shockwave 10, QT 6.5.1
Win XP, IE 6, Shockwave 10, QT 6.5.2
Previous communications with Macromedia revealed that they were aware of the incompatibility and were in communication with Apple, awaiting a solution. Can anyone help?
You can see the problem in action at

    Many thanks!
Win XP P4   Windows XP Pro   Also Mac OSX Tiger

    Here's Avids answer:
Pro50 codecs only work in Macs, so the original files need to be EXPORTED from FCP with a special codec Avid created for Mac.
So that's that issue solved ... hopefully, let's see after the next export.
But .mov files are still screwed up on my PC.
Kirk - I did reboot the machine in SafeMode, reinstalled QT, but nope - version 7.2. still doesn't play any .mov files properly that are stored on my C-drive that previously were just fine.
    Thanks again.

  • Video and Audio Files are different lengths when exporting

I'm just trying to get comforatable with a much faster Windows workstation on PPro and AE.
I just exported my first project from PPro to burn to Blu-ray like I've done dozens of times on our older Mac Pro w/o problems.
My Ppro file is 7:04:18 in length.  I export the video as an mp2 Blu-ray video and import it into Encore and it shows up at that same length.
I export the audio as an aif and import it into Encore and it shows up as 7:06:19 in length--2 seconds and 1 frame longer.
    Everything is CS6.  File is 1920 x 1080, sq pixels, 29.97.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Thanks for the feedback.  I exported to aif as I was going to burn the Blu-ray on our Mac Pro in Encore, since we don't yet have a Blu-ray burner installed in our new Windows workstation.
Upon seeing your note, I re-exported the project as you described and placed the wav and mp2 in Windows Encore and they are both the same time length.
It seems the aif should be the same too... but I assume wav is likely the preferred format on Windows so will be using that as the new workflow.
    Thanks for your help!
