Audio files not playing correctly on website.

My husband's website just was rebuilt and we are both having trouble with his recording samples page. The Webdesigner says that it is working fine. When we go to play an audio track, then we click on another audio track the 1st audio track is supposed to stop so the next one will play. However, this is not happening. The second one starts playing over the 1st. I have updated Firefox and am using 26.0. The webdesigner states that it works fine when they test the browser at their office. Can someone please let me know if there is something like a plug-in I am missing. In addition, I am unable to add the product to my shopping cart. Again we were told by the webdesigner that this works fine.
I tested both of these issues in Internet Explorer and they both work as they are supposed to, just not in Firefox. So I am convinced it is the browser.

I see the same happening in Firefox and in Google Chrome.<br />
Clicking the play button of another song doesn't pause the song that is playing, so I hear multiple songs playing simultaneously.<br />
I am on Linux, so can't test if it works in IE, but it sounds that the code is only compatible with IE.

HELP....AVCHD / MPEG files not playing correctly!

I have been trying to download video that was shot with the new Sony FS100 camera that I'm told are AVCHD or MPEG files to my older Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 timeline, but they are not playing correctly. When I reverse the field dominance, the image plays better but the sound is strange (I was able to speed the sound to 450% and it worked better, but then the balance of the sound from the clip is lost somewhere.).
Any suggestions to make these files play and work correctly? I tried converting them to AVI files but that showed up completely black on the timeline! Anything I've tried either affects the video or audio negatively! I try either makes the image play or stutterThis was shot in regular SD format, NOT HD, so they should be able to play on a standard timeline. Can anyone suggest anything to help please? Much appreciated!

I tunes update 10.5 and music files not playing correctly

After I updated iTunes to 10.5, a vast majority of my music files do not play correctly. When they do play, they sound as if they have been super compressed and I cannot figure out why. I have un installed/re installed, checked all of my drivers and even scanned my library for viruses. Is there anyone who may have any info that may help fix this problem? I would be eternally grateful.

I have just downloaded a free program called burn and it burns music perfectly and yet itunes still wont work and comes up with the same error report as above so i do hope this helps apple to fix the bugs in there latest 10.5 itunes update.

Audio file not playing when previewed or pulised on only one slide

I have one slide that the audio will not play unless the you click on the play button in preview or when published. All other slide audios are working fine and will play automtically when the next button is clicked on the previous slide. I have tried changing the name of the audio file, deleting the sled and the fiel and staring over etc. the audio file were created in another program and then brought into Captivate but thia has not been a problem with any other production up to this point. Any suggestions?

Powerpoint - audio file not playing

Hi I created a PP presentation using PP 2010 and I inserted an audio file to play automatically throughout the whole presentation. I email it to a friend and it plays perfectly on her computer at home. However, when she tries to play it on her laptop at
school (they have Office 2007) the music doesn't play at all.
I've told her to delete the audio file and insert it again but it still isn't working - any suggestions?

What's the format of that audio file? Convert its format to .wmv and re-insert it.
Please copy the audio file onto desktop and directly play it through Windows Media Player, does it work?

Audio file not playing - CS6 After Effects

I am taking a Motion Design class and the .mov file that has the audio clip I need was provided by the instructor and worked in class using CS5 After Effects. When I try to work on the movie at home, the audio file does not play. Does the audio file have to be a different file format to work with CS6?

Audio File Not Playing

Morning All,
A few weeks ago I took a load of video and audio footage for a video I need to make for work.
I did exactly what I have done in the past - set 2 cameras up for visual and use an external clip on mic, plugged in to a Dictaphone for audio.
I then drop all the files into PP and edit away. Everything has worked fine in the past.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, having done the same thing, I noticed that the Audio from the Dictaphone would not play back in PP. It works fine in everything else (Window Media Player, iMac Media Player, After Effects etc). The audio from the cameras play back, it's the audio only file from the Dictaphone that wont. Everything on the PC is up to date, in fact, I have since had a new PC.
I'm honestly struggling to figure out why the audio file will not play!

Another tiny update. I have found a .WAV file at 176kbps which plays (I think this came from a different source). The .WAV files I'm having problems with are 384kbps.
The dictaphone has the option of recording at the following:
32kbps
64kbps
128kbps
192kbps
384kbps
But as highlighted before, I have used the 384kbps files before without any issues.

Podcast Audio Files Not Playing In Browser

I have a music podcast on my site, built by iWeb8. On my last podcast addition I published to folder and opened the site from the folder on my machine. Everything was fine except the browser would not play the MP3 files (VBR) of the podcast. I can open and play these files with quicktime but it does not work when viewing via the browser.
These files also play in iWeb.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I think that everybody but Apple agrees that QuickTime is not the best way to play audio files on the internet.
The statistics show that over 90% of surfers have flash.
If you're having problems with Firefox, what chance have you got with IE?
iWeb '08 coverts your MP3 files to .MOV.
'09 seems to have addressed this issue.
I stopped using QT about a year ago. This simple flash player is easy to implement and has the advantage of buffering....

Audio files not playing

When I export a Keynote project as a Quicktime movie, the audio file becomes a separate quicktime file. Documentation says you can discard it, but when i do that, the audio won't play with the main movie.
And when I email the main movie, the audio doesn't go with it.
Anyone know how to fix?

I always export the Keynote project to QT and import
the QT movie into Garageband (soundtrack). Then I
choose the music and "export to file..."
Then you get a QT movie with the sound you need!

Why are certain sound files not playing correctly in iTunes?

I have had iTunes for years and have never had prolonged or unsolvable problems with anything playback related until now. I recently acquired some music, and it plays perfectly when I use WMP. When I added it my iTunes library, however, the audio is compressed during playback and there is a lot of skipping and blips going on in every song. It still plays perfectly in WMP, but not matter what I do the same thing happens in iTunes.

I have a similar problem. When I try to play TV episodes that were downloaded (in .m4v format) using iTunes, QuickTime (7.0.4) will play video without audio, and when I press "stop", QuickTime locks up!
My system used to play these files PERFECTLY, until I downloaded some shareware video format conversion programs (that didn't work, anyway). I believe one of them installed a shared DLL or CODEC or something that is conflicting with QuickTime. I'VE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED QUICKTIME AND ITUNES COUNTLESS TIMES, trying to follow different people's advice, mostly from posts on this site, but nothing helps!!
The thing we have in common is that it sounds like you also have other video software that could have conflicting CODECs or shared DLLs. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TRACK THIS PROBLEM DOWN??
And why doesn't Apple make a CLEAN uninstaller and a COMPLETE installer? People shouldn't have to do the manual registry editing and file deletions that other people are recommending!!!!!

.AVI files not playing correctly on G3 iBook

With the help of JulieJulieJulie and others I am able to import my mpeg 4 video clips (they are in .avi format on my Casio Exilim EX S600 digital camera) into iPhoto and play them without any difficulty on my G5 iMac and my G4 Powerbook. This morning I imported a group of these files onto my daughter's G3 iBook running Tiger 10.4.5 and iPhoto 5. I tried using both the EX_M4S2 component as well as the Casio .avi importer to view them with the same bad result. The clip starts and then becomes badly distorted, kind of like an impressionist painting through bad glasses--all blurry and wiggly. I then tried viewing them with mpeg streamclip and they also didn't play properly--they just kept stopping. Any idea why the G3 iBook would not be able to play them properly? I have Quicktime 7.0.4 Pro running on all three Macs.

Something you might try as an experiment (if you have a FireWire cable and your iBook G3 has a FireWire port) would be to start-up your G5 in target disk mode and then boot the iBook with the option key down, select the G5's hard drive to boot from and see if playback is noticably better - the system would be running from the hard drive in the G5 which is a 3.5" (vs. the 2.5" drive in the iBook) and runs considerably faster. If playback improves then drive speed would appear to be a factor. Or the OS and QuickTime version installed on the G5 vs. that installed on the iBook since the iBook would be using the software from the G5 hard drive.)

Rewrapped AVCHD MTS files not playing correctly

I'm using a Panasonic HDC-TM700 camera to record 1920x1080 60p. The camera records to the AVCHD format which yields a .MTS file. Final Cut Pro X still does not support importing from this camera. I've tried the various tricks mentioned in these forums such as creating a camera archive, importing directly from the SD card, using Panasonic's AVC CAM restore tool, etc. Nothing has been sucessful, so it looks like it's back to re-wrapping the .MTS file to a .m4v file. To do this, I'm using the Rewrap2M4V apple script combined with ClibGrab as described in other discussions. My newly wrapped m4v clips play just fine in Quicktime Player. The movie inspector reports a FPS of 59.94 and a resolution of 1920x1080.
When I import these clips into Final Cut, however, I see two green or black empty frames about every 28-30 frames. This occurs when I'm previewing the clip from the event library and when the clip in in the timeline. The timeline is set to 1920x1080 59.94p, though I've tried 60p and saw the same behavior.
When I export the clip to a h.264 .mov file, I don't see the green or black blank frames, but the picture is garbled in those places.
For what it's worth, I've installed the updated QT codecs. Any ideas?

I don't know what conversion engine clipgrab uses, but i have had success with the old Final Cut Express using ffmpeg based software to re-wrap the .MTS files from my panasonic GH2. I use Media Converter (an ffmpeg front-end) and if you go to their presets page you'll find presets i made to do it. Give that a shot maybe. Another thing you can try to do if that still does not work is a 'standards conversion' of the re-wrapped video to ProRes in JES Deinterlacer.

Very short audio file not playing.

Hi all.
I have a slide where there is a picture which collapses with an effect to centre. At the point of collapse I have a short sound file (0.5s) of a camera shutter which plays at the same time.
This then moves to the next slide where there is another picture that expands from central, whcih then collapses with the same sound into the next slide and so on and so on.
I originally created this in CP5 and it all worked fine.
My client then decided they wanted something different so I removed the sound and did what they wanted.
I have subsequently upgraded to CP5.5.
They then decide that they wanted it back as originally built.
I re-imported the sound file and replaced it into the slides as necessary.
If I play the slide using the space bar the sound plays fine.
If I preview with either F4, F8, F10 or F12 I get no camera shutter sound. But all the other sounds in the product work fine.
I'm a bit confused!
Anyone come across this?
I've created a new project and plonked the sound file into a new slide and it works fine using the F keys.
Don't know what I have done but I must have switched something off somewhere.
Any help is appreciated!

Ibook sync problems also audio books wont play correctly

I updated my ipad from 4.3 to 5.0.1 now I am unable to sync my books in one go with out the other folder showing in excess of 24gigs plus when I try to listen to an audio book ipod player will only play the first chapter then I need to select the next chapter and so on where as with 4.3 the chapters would just play one after the other I would be great ful of any help thank you.

Just I case any ones reading this I've found out that I'm not the only one who's suffering these faults with all of the apple products i.e. iPod touch, iPhones, and the iPads are all the same with this spurious other folder in iTunes when the devices are plugged in when I contacted apple care for help with this the so called technication tried to explain it was the iOS operating system that was accounting for the other folder when asked to explain how any operating system for a tablet or any device could be in the region of and above 20gigs he just went silent and it was hard to get another word from him he even refused to allow me to speak to his boss???
As for the audio books the only work round I have found is to use a free programme called Audacity 1.3 for windows you can also get this prog for the mac as well it allows you to stitch audio files together so in stead of having for example 3 large files for and audio book with say 5 chapters in each file you can stitch them all together as one large 15 chapter file it also allows you to adjust the meta data which is very handy.
Depending on how many chapters you have can take some time to do this but is so well worth it when if it was not done you could have an audio book with 150 chapters of 3 mins long which would mean every 3 mins you would have to select the next chapter to play or if it was all stitched together you just select remember last position in the iTunes file info and no more worrying about selecting the next chapter and if you don't listen to the audio book right the way through you can start off right where you left it last time.
I hope that this info has helped any one who like myself is having the same fault with their audio books not playing correctly.
