I have a clip that once played the video and audio in PPro CS6.0.3 but now the audio is a problem. It plays clearly but about every 3 sec. the audio jumps ahead. In the timeline, the waves stop about half way through the clip.
The same clip plays perfectly in VLC Player.
I uninstalled and reinstall Matrox software, it did not help.
I deleted the troubled file and brought in the same file from my RAID 10 archive, same problem.
I opened PP holding the Alt and Shift keys to clear the preferences, no change.
Created a new project with only the troubled clip in it, still jacked-up.
I used C-Cleaner and deleted the temp files, scanned for a virus, danced in circles clockwise and counterclockwise while pulling out my hair alas, I have run out of tricks.
Could this be a Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6.0.3 bug? You betcha!
Now I must once again crawl back to CS5.5 and rebuild this project that due in a week becase CS6, CS6.0.2 and CS6.0.3 do not work with Sony EX1 clips.
Yes, Ill report this as a suspected bug and call tech support. The previous Adobe EX1 video tearing bug was fixed after 6 months. How long will this bug fix take?

Changing the NVIDIA drive from 301 to 295 had no effect, same problem.
Working solution
Using the same project file on the same SDHC card and same content on the same RAID I tranfered them to a HP Elitebook 8540p, Win 7 Pro, Intel i7,8GB RAM, NVIDIA NVS 5100M, USB 3.0. The same problem file works perfectly with this hardware and by adding the graphics card to the "cuda Supported cards" list, the Mercury engine is active. I will have headaches using a small screen and only 48 cuda cores compared to 384 is much slower but it is working.
Am I having problems with the:
Intel Q9450?
nvidia 560 Ti?
Asus P5E Deluxe?
USB 3.0 card?
Is there a way to test these components?

Outputting standard definition from Sony ex1

I'm triyng to outputting standard definition from Sony ex1 clips as explained in this article http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/ex1_sd_outputyoung.html.
I got some motion files in the hd timeline. When I paste this file on the sd timeline the scale is totally different from the original.
Any ideas on what happens?

We are working with Final Cut 5 and DVCProHD material... (which, btw, is a good codec to use for FCP 4.5)
Downcoverting a finished product for SD DVD works really good in Compressor 2. After editing in FCP, I find it best to export as Self contained QT of your project. Then importing that into Compressor... and use the Compressor Preset for the SD MPEG-2 Compression for delivery on DVD. It has worked great!
But, another way you could try.. is once you have a finished product edited in FCP.... Print to render it, print it to Video on your HDV camera...
Use the Camera to Playback and recapture the the downconverted video onto the computer. You may find the downcoversion a bit better this way.

Make sure you are running FCP 7.0.3. That version deals with files from the NX5 the best. If you are on a previous version, like FCP 6....you will need to use CLIPWRAP2 from Divergentmedia.com. As the specific AVCHD format the NX5 uses is something that FCP 6 cannot really deal with.
Gotta love new camera formats.

Airplay from phone to ATV keeps cutting out.

When using my ATV and airplay from iPhone 4s the audio keeps cutting out then will play agian. This will happen every 5-20 seconds. I am able to use airplay from my MBP without any issues. I have restarted the iPhone and ATV. I have closed all aps on the phone and tried both streaming and music apps with the same result. All items have the most recent updates. I have an airport express in my shop which there is no issue using airplay form the phone with any aiplay app. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try changing your energy saver settings. Make sure the macbook is plugged in and change both display and computer sleep to never. When your display goes to sleep airplay will shut off. I don't watch a lot of tv on airplay from my mac, but this works for when I'm streaming radio or music. I suggest getting a cheap iPod touch (with airplay) on craigslist if you don't have an iPhone. I've seen them as low as $30. Then get the Air Video app ($3) and the Remote app (free). These two apps take care of all of my tv/movie watching needs.
If your appleTV is too far from your wireless router then you will have trouble using any of these features. Try purchasing an extra long (100') cat5 cable from monoprice.com and moving your router to a more central area of your house. You can even put a second router in your home using this cat5 and get great internet connection everywhere!

Audio on keynote exported quicktime videos cuts out at 50 seconds?

It just started! When I export my keynote into a Quicktime file, the audio cuts out at 50 seconds. I have been creating videos a long time with this method and never had problems before.

I am willing to share files with Apple. Mine are copyrighted, but are shareable.
But here's a wrinkle on the problem that puts me a little more in sympathy with Apple engineers, since they may well not have encountered the subtle environments we have that is generating this audio problem.
I was having the same problem you are for several days after I upgraded to Keynote 6.5 and Yosemite 10.10 (running on a mid-2011 MBA). I duplicated a keynote file with audio recorded that cut out after 50 seconds or so: audio stopped on slide 2 even though I had recorded and saved the whole 50 minute presentation. I store my keynote presentations along with Quicktime movies (m4v) and downsampled mp4 files in a sparsebundled disk image. I created a new, larger disk image yesterday because I was running out of storage space. To do that, I copied all the files in the sparsebundle to a temporary folder on a backup drive (My Mac Book Air is running out of storage space). Then, I deleted the old sparse bundle, created the new one, and copied all the files back.
After reading your latest post, I thought I would try again. I opened my test Keynote file, now copied to the new sparse bundle, and the audio works! I can hear the audio in the Keynote file when I "Play Recorded Slideshow" from the Play menu. I also exported to a Quicktime m4v movie and the audio is all there. The Keynote file size didn't change during all this: still 36.8MB, which is typical for the audio recorded ones. I start with a 2 to 4MB presentation of 15-20 slides, record audio, and the file size increases to 35-40MB. Then the Quicktime m4v is typical 200-300MB. This one is: 239.4MB.
So, although the bug is not squashed, take heart and don't delete those files! Your audio may actually be in there somewhere.

Audio from Sony EX1r Camera will not round trip from Audition

With Premier CC15 the audio from my Sony EX1R Video Camera comes back from Audition after the edit just as a loud buzz. It works fine in Premier 6 and also CC. My Panasonic camera Audio, as well as all others work fine.
Can someone help?

Giving up? Four product releases in nine months. That's a pretty aggressive development schedule for a new product.
Motion is a separate development track and always has been. Roundtripping to Motion was not available in its first releases. Apple has taken a new approach with publishing and rigging, which has great benefits. It basically meant that the entire effects, transitions, generators, and titling architecture didn't have to be rebuilt in FCP and that the two applications can work together. There are a lot of things this allows. For instance, if you want to add effects from Motion to clips in FCP, roundtripping is quite unnecessary; simply publish the effect with the parameters you need and apply the effect inside FCP.
Roundtripping is really useful for a lot of things and will probably be implemented. In the interim third party soluations using XML hooks are available.

No Audio from Sony STR-DG700 AV Receiver

Yesterday I hooked up my Sony DTR-DG700 AV receiver to the BTV box. BTV HMDI output to the TV via receiver works in that I can see the picture on the TV, however the BTV digital optical to the receiver does not output audio to my front speakers.
I've made sure the receiver settings are correct in that I've forced the receiver to use the digital optical in, however I still get no audio from my Tannoy FX speakers. I went into the BTV Settings and selected 'Surround Sound' as the default and saved the setting, but still only get audio via HDMI
I know there isn't a compatibility concern with the receiver and speakers as this used to work years ago with my SKY system.
I should add I can hear the audio from the BTV box via my receiver by way of the headphone socket, but not via the speakers.
One thing I've not done yet is to connect the BTV box to the receiver via RCA phonos to see if this forces the digital optical to kick-in. I even went as far as to re-boot the BTV box and restore the default settings on my Sony AV receiver.
I would really welcome any assistance as this is beginning to annoy me.

I'm beinging to suspect the speakers might be knackered. Can't for the life of me fathom out why though. I connected my iPhone to an input on the receiver, played a song and again, can hear it no problem via the receiver headphone socket, but not via the speakers.
I've tried assigning another input on the receiver, by this doesn't appear to work either, as I still get no audio via the speakers.
Also tried hooking up a DVD player c/w co-ax audio out and get nowt via the speakers again. In this instance, the audio is simply being carried by way of SCART.
I checked the spec for the speakers and the receiver.
Tannoy FX speakers 6ohm impedance
Receiver is 8 ohm impedance
This set-up was working fine years ago, as I had SKY HD hooked up to the said receiver and speakers.

Zeppelin airplay from windows iTunes 12.1 cuts out

ok, this problem is driving me nuts. I have a stream URL setup in iTunes 12 on Windows 7. I also have a B&W Zeppelin AirPlay speaker (up to date firmware). I can airplay from iTunes to the speakers. Sometimes (not all the time) the stream play just stops with no error. The indicator goes from the Pause button to the Play button. So, I run some tests....
Change iTunes speakers to local. Cut out does not happen.
Reboot router - cut out continues
Run the same stream from my iPad to B&W - no cut outs!
This leads me to believe it is not the stream itself. It is not iTunes or Windows alone and it is not the network or AirPlay.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Any help appreciated...

Macbook pro running 6.8 has wifi cutting out and extremely slow

My macbook Pro recently started having issues where the Airport says the wifi signal is full, yet is extremely slow(.5mbps compared to 30 that i normally get.)
It also cuts out but says it is still connected, but chrome, safari, itunes all cannot connect even to google.
So far I have tried,
Deleteing the playlist items in system configuration
restarting the router manually and from the router control panel
shutting off my airport card and turning it back on
set a new location in network preferences
setting DNS to Google DNS and openDNS
setting IPv4 settings to manual
checking the router channel
restarting my computer
setting the network utility to constantly ping
checked the preferences on the netgear router site
turning bluetooth on and off
setting and unsetting a firewall
using network diagnostics
the only thing that works is to turn airport off, then on again and reconnect. even then, I can only get a few page views, sometimes only one, before it stops loading anything. my wifi connection used to be amazing, then one day it just started doing this. I get very slow speeds when I can connect, and downloads are extremely slow.

I also finger McAffee as the culprit, it's not necessary on Mac's as of 10.6.8+ Apple installed their own anti-OS X malware detector and it checks for updates like every 26 hours or so.
If you need to clean the Windows malware off their files, the free ClamXav does the job nicely and doesn't bugger up the machine as it's run as you need it.

Need codec for footage from Sony EX1 for edit in Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0; Help

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 to try and edit Sony EX1 film footage transfered to my external hardrive. When I try and import the film footage, I receive and error message reading "codec missing or unavailable".
Can you please provide assistance in finding the needed codec?

My Iphone 4s' internet has completely cut out.

I am in my house so am therefore connected to wifi, it even says connected to wifi, the 3g is up and i usually have 3 - 5 bars. my carrier has just been topped up and it still doesnt work. whenever i go onto the internet it says "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost". If i go to youtube it says "cannot connect to youtube" and my texting apps (ie whatsapp) just say connecting and cut out for ages. this problem occured yesterday in the morning and i did some things like turned off and on cellular data and it started working again. Later it cut out again for longer and i fixed it after a while now it has cut out and it hasnt come back since. i am with Giffgaff - O2. i have tried reseting network settings and i have tried taking out sim and putting it back in.

No. Not even sure what you mean by that. The phone is trying to access particular IP addresses on the internet, which don't exist on "my own network."

No again. The fact that your router works with other devices doesn't mean it's compatible with the iPhone. Did you even try restarting and updating the router as suggested?

You can't. Sorry. Encrypted movies in no way can be played back thru the VGA adapter.
You could do the following:
- get the Apple TV and stream the video to it. If you only have VGA input in your protector, get a HDMI -> VGA converter box. I use the one at http://www.dealextreme.com/p/hdmi-to-vga-video-converter-71816 for this purpose. It's pretty cool for the price - nevertheless, there're better models for more money; let me know if you need further recommendations on them. (Note that I haven't tested this unit with a direct HDMI output from the iPad yet. Will do it soon.)
- if the projector does have HDMI input, test it with the HDMI adapter. Hope the projector supports HDCP.

just tried to play a dvd and got no sound ! now if i play a vob file from my hdd everything works just fine , only way to get ANY audio from a dvd is to set my dvd player to analouge aka crap stereo !
