Audio garbled in exported film

when I export my edited Imovie film (11 minutes) into Itunes film (with the intent of burning a dvd afterwards) or onto my hard drive as a .mov, halfway through the exported film the sound is garbled (excelarates, even produces sound of clips where I disabled the sound while editing) and so in several parts of the film the sound is out of sync.
What is going wrong here? How can I see in my edited project whether there is some sound 'flying around' on audio channels I don't hear when I play the film straight from the project window?
thanx for helping out!
marcella

Hi Marcella - welcome to the forum!
If you have made any speed changes, such as slow or fast motion, using your own custom (manual) settings, audio glitches can appear in your exported movie. These glitches do not show up in preview - only after exporting. The solution is to use ONLY the preset settings on the slider, which are 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and 800%.
So, you need to revisit your project and change any "custom" speed changes to any of the Apple presets. Unfortunately, this may require some re-editing to keep everything in sync, but is the only way to fix the audio problem.

  • Audio sync problem: exporting from FCP to Pro tools or soundtrack pro

Final Cut Pro sound export for mastering.....sync problem
    Hey,
I'm editing a 30 minute film and I have done most of the sound edit in FCP and Soundtrack pro and I want to now bring all the sound into pro tools to master the sound but every time i export sound into pro tools it seems to stretch by two or three seconds.
I have tried OMF, AIFF, XML, and Quicktime audio file sut to no avail!!!!
There are 50 tracks in the file so it is quiet large. It's not that there are handles of the file also as when I sync the file with the audio track with the video it syncs in one place but it is still out of sync in another.........It's as if the audio has been stretched!?!
If anyone has any advice it'd be much appreciated
    Keith

Try mixing down the audio first. Sequence/Render Only/Audio mixdown.
You could even try exporting the audio with the Export QT movie command using "current settings" and reimport that file, Add that mixed down file to a copy of the sequence. If it syncs in FCP I'd think it will sync on export too.

  • Export Films from iphoto 08

    Hi,
With past version, when I want to make a simple backup of my photos in an external drvie, i used to do it with the export fonction.
It give me a really simple folder with my photos and my FILMS.
By this way of export I was able to plug my hardrive in a PC, or if I switch to another software, I was sure I can manage my photos.
Now with 08, it doesn't seems possible to export films with this function, I need to drag and drop them, which is not really handy.
When I want to make a backup of an event, I don't want to scroll down my entire event to find films. If we have the ability to filter by type of file, it will be easyer. But the better way will be to get this function back.
I am stupid, or is it in another place in this new version?
Do you get the same problem?
    Cheers,
    Gaspard.
    Ps: sorry for english.

    Gaspard:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you have any 3rd party exporter installed? That is, flickr, etc. If so remove or update them to a version compatible with iPhoto 08. Select the iPhoto application and type Command-i to bring up the Info window. Then go down to the Plug-Ins: section. There look for any 3rd party exprters and remove them. Also check and make sure you only have the FileExporter2.iPhotoExporter plugin. Some users ended up with that and the one from iPhoto 6, FileExporter.iPhotoExporter. If you have both delete FileExporter.iPhotoExporter. Then try again.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • NO AUDIO ON BATCH EXPORT.  First 2 times i posted this it never showed up....

Why do I randomly get audio from batch export using AME.  Usually it doesn't work at all as in NO audio but other times several of the files in a batch will have audio.  And other times none.
    What gives?
running Mavericks on G5 with 12GB of RAM and Quadro FX4800 video card.
    Rob

First of all, could you tell me what version of AME you are using?
Did you import files directly into AME or queue jobs from Premiere Pro or other Adobe apps?
Could you clear the following cache folders while no Adobe app is running and try again?
    /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache
    /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache Files
How many files did you encode at one time?  If you encode one at a time, does it encode fine?

  • Audio fails in Export to QT

    Hi,
I have made two presentations in Keynote and need to export to QT Full Quality, manual advance, to include on DVD's
Both presentations are the same except for the language.
The English version lets me export no problem. However the Korean version has no audio in the export. It does make two files one movie and the other audio but so does the English version. I have checked everything, both files are identical. Both mov. files are 16.4 MB in size. The exported English mov.file has 51.5 MB and the Korean mov.file has 61.2 MB. Does anyone know what happened to the audio or why it won't play?

    Hi
    Me just thinking.
Do You use - external hard disks ? If so
    • Connected via FW or USB/USB2
    • Free space on them
    • formatted as ?
BTW - Did You Mix Down Audio - before Export - I do !

  • Audio Does not export with ideo in quicktime conversion

I know i did something with a keyboard shortcut during the editing process, but i cant figure out what i did and how to change it back. What my issue is that when i try to export it to any format in quicktime (in quicktime conversion) the video is ok, but my audio does not export at all.
I dont know what went wrong but i should note i pressed something on my timeline that i didnt realize what it did. Its hard to explain what it looks like, when you press on different clips all the clips on my time line quickly turn a more silver/light color and then change back to the normal color(not effecting the video quality just the thumbnails). But it is has a weird color
is there a way i can reset all settings without adjusting my video clips?
    Sound settings
    Format: Lubear OCM
    Channels: Stereo (L R)
    Rate: 48.0000 hHz
    Render Settings:
    Quality: Normal
    Linear PCM Settings:
    Sample Size: 16 bits
    Checked: Little Endian

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Does the audio play when you run sequence?
Did you toggle off the monitor icon at the left side of timeline for audio track?
When export to quicktime conversion, select quicktime movie and click OPTION.
From this point, you should see a checkbox for SOUND. Be sure to check it ON.

  • No audio when I export as a quicktime movie

I am exporting my movie from FCE as a quicktime movie, but there is no audio on the exported file. Why would this be?

The audio tracks are switched off in the timeline. You're not monitoring it properly. Where are you watching in the video? In the QT player? In FCE? Somewhere else? Are there any meters in that application? Are they moving? Is the volume turned up?

  • Audio distorted in export

The audio of my exported medai is very distorted. Original audio is from iTunes AAC 256 bits. I'm exporting an lower bits and still distorted. What to do?

    Hi Al,
Here are the steps I use to export:
From the File menu, I select 'Share' and select 'Master File'
In the pop-up dialog box I click on 'Settings' and select 'H264' as the CODEC
I open the rendered file with QuickTime Player and the audio is distorted.
I open the rendered file with QuickTime Player 7 and the audio is fine
I convert the exported file to a WMV file using Pro version of Flip Player. The audio in the resulting file is fine.
I'm no expert but this would on the outset appear to be a problem with QuickTime v10.4.  I can't seem to find a way to resolve this. Thank you for your assistance.
FYI - the audio file for the project is pulled in to FCPX as an mp3 directly from the iTunes library via the 'Music and Sound' browser.

  • IMovie Audio Distortion (When Exported)

I recently made a video in IMovie, and I am running into some troubles with the audio when i export the video to a quicktime format or when I burn it onto a CD. I preferred using IMovie HD to the version I had upgraded to with iLife '08 so I re-installed IMovie HD - version 6.0.3.  The video is about 40 minutes long and includes both video's from a handheld camera (with sound), still pictures, and music from my iTunes.  The video runs great on iMovie, but when I burnt it to a DVD or when I export it to quicktime, it is distorting about 3 minutes of audio at the beginning of the video.  It sounds like someone sped up the voices, put a mic in a wind tunnel, and made some weird sound effects over the top of the video.  The original audio is still recognizable, but it is greatly masked by this distortion.
The other issue is that when I try to open the .mp4 file created from the "share" function of i-movie, it is giving me an error message that says "An invalid sample description was found in the movie".  I have tried changing the extension to a (.m4v) but had no luck.  When using VLC's video player to open the file however, it worked like a charm and the video displayed just fine (except for the audio distortion as mentioned above).   Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, do you have any possible solutions? I read somewhere online about separating an ac3 file (I have no idea what that is or how to do it), but I can not find the article again.  Thanks in advance!

    Hi Bob,
    Welcome to iDVD Discussions.
Did you import 16-bit audio from your camcorder?

  • Audio problems on export to QT - FCP HD 4.5

I've seen some posts about audio trouble when exporting a sequence to create a Quicktime file--but the solution, re-render and run Audio Mixdown, isn't working for me. Actually I don't even see an Audio Mixdown option, but I know there used to be, maybe in FCP 3.
What happens is that in one area, just the music tracks cut out--although it plays just fine in the sequence. Any ideas for FCP HD 4.5? Thanks!
    PowerBook G4 15   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   FCP HD 4.5

It is located here: SEQUENCE>RENDER ONLY>MIXDOWN.
    That usually solves it.

  • Did the update fix audio clicks on export?

I'm aware of the problems with Lion and audio clicks while exporting from FCP X.  Did the update fix this problem? I want to upgrade to Lion but not if it's going to screw up the project I'm working on currently.

For me, it seems its fixed...

  • Audio in XFL Export

I want to know why I cant hear audio in my xfl export when I preview my file in FlashCS4?
Ive seen several tutorials that work with audio, and it has a little "export audio" check box when you export... and then I find
"Limitations of exporting a composition to XFL format
Audio is not exported to the XFL file."
    on this forum site: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AfterEffects/9.0/WS609484ED-81FD-41fd-B2C8-10A1D55339EF.html
Does anyone have some suggestions for me?  Im trying to flash up a video for my website and cannot get the audio to sync up if I import it seperately.

Ok, I discussed this topic with an After Effects QE engineer who oversees the XFL feature. And I believe I have some juicy bits for you.
Yes, it's true. Audio is not supported in XFL export.
    BUT... there is one exception.
If you have an FLV in the AE timeline that does not need to be re-rendered (see the help page for the rules on when layers are passed through or rendered), the FLV will be packaged into the XFL file without any alteration.  So if audio is contained in that FLV, it will come into Flash.
So one workaround would be to put the audio into an FLV file before importing into AE.  This has some limitations, though:
    1. There has to be video in the file.  AE will ignore layers that are audio only.
    2. You can’t just turn off the video visibility icon.  Same reason as above.
    3. What you CAN do is lower the opacity of the video layer to zero (opacity changes don’t require that the layer be rendered), move it off the visible area in the Comp, or use an FLV where the video is empty (alpha channel in the On2 Vp6 codec) or trivially small.
Regarding the Audio tab you see in Adobe Media Encoder... You have noticed that the FLV settings accessible through the XFL export dialog allow you to enable audio.  If you do this, any rendered FLV’s in the XFL package will indeed have an audio track, but it will be empty.
    Hope this helps!

  • Removing light flickering from FCE exported film

I am using a Panasonic AVC video camera. Every time I export films from FCE4 the files show a constant flickering of light (like a mild strobe light effect).
Does any one know how to remove this? I am exporting to a Quicktime file - so am not compressing the file.
I don't have any plug ins - but am willing to consider this solution.

I can't answer your question but it is possible you may be misunderstanding "Motion" as there are two of them!
One is the Motion tab/window in the Viewer in Final Cut Express and Pro.
The other is the complete application called "Motion" which is part of the Final Cut Studio suite of apps.
I suspect it may be the latter one you need.
By the way, the URL you posted is corrupted in some way and doesn't work.

  • Audio on Video Export sound like machine gun

    Hello,
I'm a professor and one of my student's projects when exported sound like a computer machine gun. Repetitive rat a tat tat. Tried different computers and codecs with same result. Audio is fine while editing.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jon

Re: Audio on Video Export sound like machine gun

  • Bad audio after the export

    Hi !
I want to export a video clip I just made, and the Audio bass is just awful when I listen to the clip on Quicktime after the export. Before the export (on FCPX), the audio is perfect.
So do you know how I can keep the exact same audio during the export ?
    Thank's for your answers.
