Audio glitch with Windows 7

Hello,
I succesfully upgraded Vista to Windows 7 and I am very happy with it..........................except. Audio glitches!
With Vista I had no audio glitches but now with Windows 7 I have. With help from dpc latency checker I disabled every driver I could disable but no result.
Can anyone help me out please?!!!!

Hi
Which notebook model do you have exactly?
Have you installed latest Win7 sound driver for your notebook model?

  • FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.

  • RDP audio issues with Windows Server 2008

I have a server with an M-Audio 1010LT audio card installed, running audio playback software.  This software needs to stay running and playing at all times.
We were previously running Windows Server 2003 and when we RDPed into the box for maintenance, we simply made sure that 'Leave at remote computer" was selected under Remote Desktop's sound settings.  This allowed us to control the console of the server while the audio continued to play through the server's audio card.
Now, with Windows Server 2008, even with this option selected when we remote into this server all audio stops and Windows shows no available audio devices.  If I end my RDP session and phyically go to the server, I see the audio devices and am able to re-start the audio playback.
Is this a bug, or something that has changed in 2008?  Any workarounds?
    Thanks

  • Audio glitches with each effect/title

I'm starting to actually work with iMovie now and my first real project is giving me fits. I made a slideshow in another program, including music. I exported it as DV and imported it into iMove. I added a few titles and one effect. iMovie, of course, splits the movie into clips with each of these operations. The movie plays perfectly in iMovie and also in Quicktime Player - the problem pops up when I burn the DVD in iDVD (maybe I need to post this in the iDVD forum, but see below). At every single split (beginning and end) there is an audible glitch - an interruption, if you like. The result is totally unusable, of course.
The slideshows I have done so far(I'm using Photo To Movie) all render perfectly in iDVD, even including this one. It was only after I put this one into iMovie and edited it that I got this problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't believe everybody has this happen, because Apple would never have been able to release the program in this state. So I must be doing something wrong, but what?
I sure hope somebody has an answer for this one, as I'm in deep doo-doo otherwise.
    Thanks.

I doubt the audio problem you describe has to do with the number of audio tracks you use or how you've used them. In fact, I'm not even sure it has anything to do with iMovie. These things get complicated real fast, and this project has gotten complicated.
You've imported video clips created in a different application to iMovie to join them together, then passed the iMovie project along to iDVD. Apparently something in that process is affecting iDVD's ability to encode the audio. That's not too surprising, actually. If there's a tiny audio flaw anywhere, iDVD may not be able to encode the DVD properly, causing an audible defect. (iDVD's job is convert an iMovie project to the MPEG-2 format used by DVD players. If the material we hand it isn't perfect, we might hear a burp. Interestingly, the burp may be more obvious on some DVD players than others.)
You said Photo to Movie movies work fine sent straight to iDVD. But that never "joins" the clips in the same way as importing them to iMovie does. iDVD encoding each separately doesn't present the same challenge as joining them in one movie. Joining requires a perfect match.
The solution may be to export the iMovie project to a Full Quality movie that you import to iDVD. Exporting to Full Quality will export to a QuickTime movie that's a DV Stream. That will "flatten" the audio, making it far easier for iDVD to handle. If there's a "burp" where clips come together, exporting might eliminate it. Or a least change the burp into sweet silence.
That's where I'd start. Export the iMovie project to a Full Quality movie. Drag that movie into the window of a new iDVD project.
If that still doesn't work, there's one more thing to try. It sometimes helps to slow down the burn speed. Instead of using iDVD to burn the DVD — which doesn't let us slow it down — use iDVD to create a disk image of the encoded video. Use the File > Save as Disk Image command to create a disk images instead of burning a DVD. (Not available in older versions of iDVD.) Open that disk image in Disk Utility and use Disk Utility to burn the DVD, choosing the slowest burn rate possible.
    Keep us posted.

  • Audio issue with windows 10

Take a look at this: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/windows-10-how-fix-sound-issues-after-upgrade-1513693
I think you should uninstall the driver and right click the device in device manager and select to automatically install the driver. Reboot after uninstalling the existing one.

I have upgraded my old laptop to windows 10 to test it out i have come across an issue where when i have my headphones in the audio does not work but when i have them out works fine. (pretty sure i am not the only one with this issue)
( Dell Insprion N5030, 4gb ram, Intel Pentium, 500gb HDD ) The specs are fine for windows 10
My headphones does not seem to appear in playback settings.
I have tried Updating audio driver says already at latest version reinstalled audio driverrebooted the audio services thru services.msc
Any ideas on fixing this issue don't want to put this update on my main and have no audio.

  • Dv6 1244tx - Audio tinny with Windows 7

    Hi guys,
I've recently upgraded my dv6-1244tx to Windows 7 Home Premium (32bit). Ever since doing so, the audio quality has changed, it now sounds tinny with no bass at all, like the audio is going through a high pass filter or something. This happens in all applications.
I've installed the latest audio drivers (or what windows thinks are the latest anyways) and CODECS from the official hp site, to no avail. Fwiw, the mute button on the top panel is now permanently red/orange, when it used to change white for unmute, red for mute...
A brief google showed a few other users encountering similar problems, but with no real fixed solution - so just wanted to know if any other hp owners have encountered this, or if anyone has any ideas about what I can try.
    Thanks [fingers crossed]
    R.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

OK, as an update to this, I've just tried rolling back the IDT High Def Audio Codec to the previously installed driver, which had the same tinny (no bass) audio quality.
Then tried Updating that Codec back to the latest, and now Media player doesn't play anything - shows an error message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device."
So, in order to test whether Windows can generate ANY sound at all, I go to : Control Panel >  Change System sounds , where I get a message saying something like "enhancements may be affecting the performance of your device, would you like to disable enhancements?", I click OK, and problem is solved - Audio is back with full bass, nice and crisp and clear.
It seems some enhancements may have been enabled in the driver's/codec's default settings? I'm unsure of the initial problem, but am ecstatic it's fixed.
Hope this post helps others who encounter similar problems! (if you can make sense of my ramblings!)
    Cheers,

  • Strange Audio Glitch With Volume Adjust

When I hit the volume keys on the keyboard to adjust the volume, there is a delay that I do not get when doing the same with my desktop system. There is also an audible click on the audio when the volume is adjusted. If I go to audio preferences and then use the same keys to adjust the volume, the click and delay goes away. When I leave audio preferences the problem is still fixed for at least awhile. Rebooting brings back the annoying click and delay and I think it comes back after awhile whether the computer is rebooted or not. I have experimented with turning the audible response to volume changes on and off and this has no effect on the problem other than the problem goes away because sound preferences have been opened to make the change and not because of what the setting is. I think the problem must have to do with the sound source being opened and closed whether the audible response is set or not. When sound preferences are opened, it's as if a different routine is being used when the volume keys are pressed and it continues to be used until that piece of code gets purged from RAM memory when it hasn't been used for awhile.
I'm just curious if anyone has this issue as well.

Ah, the ever popular "feature" explanation.
I can accept that it is a result of attempting to implement a feature but the way it is working on my machine indicates that this "feature" is poorly implemented.
Well designed computer programming anticipates users actions as best as possible and makes things work as best for the current situation. Most Apple programming is a perfect example of how to do this correctly. When I hit a key to change the volume, it's reasonable to think that there's a good chance that I will hit the key again because once might not change the volume sufficiently enough. Instead, what I get is the sound channel turning on and off for every key press, no matter how quickly I press the key. This happens even if I do not have an audible response selected. Should sound be turned on when there isn't any sound to be played? I don't think this should be necessary for changing the volume if you do not have an audible response set.
Now this is how I feel this should actually work:
Sound, when running from battery should be handled like a disk drive or a screen. If it is not used for a set amount of time then it should be turned off and turned back on only if it is needed again. Hitting the volume keys when no sound is playing might set a shorter time limit before the sound is turned off but the "on" time should be sufficiently long enough to hit a volume key again without requiring the sound to be turned off and on on each press.
Remember how I mentioned that the sound problem would go away, maybe even for days if I opened the sound preferences? This would indicate to me that under this situation, the sound is not actually being turned off after a reasonable amount of time. Under certain situations, it doesn't stay on long enough and others, it stays on too long. If I am right about it happening during sound playback, then it's really messing up by turning off and then on when it clearly doesn't need to.
I am pretty sure that I have had the issue while plugged into power and at least once while iTunes was playing. Certainly when sound is already playing this shouldn't occur. For some reason, I can't seem to get the issue to surface again, but I think that it just might take some time after rebooting sometimes for it to happen again. I will post more on this when it happens again.

  • Using external Audio interfaces with Windows XP on an iMac

Does anybody know how to set the audio device used by this operating system running on an iMac to something other than Realtek HD? I have an Edirol Fa-101 audio interface that runs on my PC, and runs on my iMac perfectly.

  • Audio Glitch with Premiere CS3

Right now, I am doing a project for my history class where I have to use a green-screen and chroma keying to create an "embedded" WWII new report, as if I'm live with the action. The problem is, whenever I import my video files, Premiere does not find any audio. Im using a Sony High Definition Handycam® Camcorder HDR-CX12, with MPEG2 encoding. I've tried importing the same clips to Pinnacle, and they work fine. Being a bit new to Premiere, is it default to take off the audio if you already have audio (theme music) on one track, or do I have to move the music so the program can have a Track 1 for all videos?

My guess would be that because the camera records Audio in DD 5.1 SS, you will need to copy the AC3 .dll file from Encore (I would have assumed that it would be available, since CS3 comes with Encore) to PrP. I have the exact .dll [ad2mcac3dec.dll] listed for PrP CS2, but the name is slightly different in CS3. There are many threads, with the exact and correct name listed. It should be an easy process to copy the file from Encore to PrP (as it was in CS2) and you *should* then get your Audio. I'd also assume that Pinnacle installs with a similar .dll to handle the DD 5.1 SS Audio.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Getting Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder work with Windows 8.1 on a GT72-2QD

Has anyone ever used Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3.1 or 3.2 to stream live under Windows 8.1?  I can't get it detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the source select dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. I believe FMLE is getting in conflict either with the Windows 8.1 or with some of the preinstalled software (I haven't installed any programs yet other than the ones that came preinstalled with the laptop and uninstalled the Gamecaster prior to installing Adobe Encoder). What can be done about it other than downgrading to Win7?

  • Is ichat compatible with windows?

I was trying to have an audio conversation with someone using ichat....i was using my mac and they a windows machine. I know they have a mic and all that they need to do an audio chat...but for some reason, the "phone" icon in ichat did not appear on my buddy list for that person....so all i could do was have a normal chat by typing. Can apple computers not have audio chats with windows using ichat?

You can't have an audio-only chat between someone using iChat on the Mac and AIM on the PC; your options are text and video. There is a PC client called Trillian which supports audio-only chats with people using iChat.
